This is a religion that is much misunderstood and we are learning WHY they don't marry outside. If you go to the food section and eba is being discussed will it be out of place for people to talk about kettle, stove, hot plates, ring and other methods of heating water? |

You see what I was saying? Juan told Dr Miranda he was going somewhere but refused to mention the place. The doctor uses the information given him to deduce what exactly was happening. That is how stories are meant to be, but you rarely see that in this production. What you often see is Aimee (not Regina) giving Juan a piece of paper and Renato (not Regina) bringing another piece of paper and Juan rejecting Regina because of that! And then suddenly accepting her innocence again before he is given any reason to. Eeddiotic story. Emm, I think we can guess the end by now. The bad guys like Rodrigo and Leonarda and Arcadio and Fulgencio will all end up either dead or jailed. Renato will become a nice guy again, suddenly on waking up one morning, and will become friends of Juan and Regina again and will be there, grinning from ear to ear, when the child is born. And Papa Renato and Mama Angela, like Juan and Regina, will live happily ever after. **Yawns** |

Politics / Ikeja Bomb Blast Victims Not Compensated? by Googler(m): 12:20pm On Jul 05, 2011 |
"I lost my husband at the Ikeja Cantonment bomb blast. I have two children. When my house rent expired the landlord threw us out. The children and I have been hanging about. We sometimes sleep under the bridge. But what pains me most is that my children are not going to school. I know that would not happen if my husband were alive. The government has been unfair to us, since the bomb blast was of their making." - A victim of the bomb blast speaking on TVC. I am shocked and ashamed beyond words that these people have not been compensated by the Nigerian Army and its principal, the Federal Government of Nigeria! |

Gift4all: No, it wasn't. You could tell the quality of a good production from the start. I wasn't complaining about the story - far from it. I was complaining about the production. I wasn't saying it is boring. I was saying the director just keeps pissing you off. The main problem we have here is that instead of moving a plot by the thoughts and actions of the characters, this one is moving by what the director wants. I give you instances: When Juan walks into the venue of the wedding to disrupt it because "Someone betrayed me". Renato confronts him calmly, with no anger whatsoever, and demands to know what it was all about. Rather than say anything sensible, what does Juan do? He says: "You really want to know? You really want to know?" and keeps quiet. If he took all that trouble to disrupt the wedding what stopped him from saying that Aimee betrayed him? Okay, the director didn't want it revealed at that point, so why not find a creative way of accomplishing that? Why has Renato changed so suddenly - from complete angel to complete Satan? When Juan was arrested how come Regina made no effort to follow him, but follows Renato? How come someone is locked underground for over 20 years and no one knows, and she and her guardian go in and out of their prison as they please, yet no one ever saw them, except Rodrigo, who quickly accepts Leonarda's explanation of "a ghost"? How come Rodrigo was too foolish to connect the dots when Arcadio told him the whole story and would in spite of all that later accept Leonarda's explanation that it was Arcadio who imprisoned Maria de Rosario? Do you think it's possible Maria de Rasario is alive for how many weeks and Renato never gets to hear of it, considering what the rumour mill at that port is like? How can a guy like Servando who throws knives at people stab Gabriel in the heart and "miss"? Didn't Fulgencio want to see Jimena? And the court trial? Just a complete laugh. You find these kinds of things in every production, but the problem with Carazon Salvaje is that it is entirely driven by these directorial interventions, rather than organic plot movement. This is easily one of the worst productions I have ever seen. Shame on its director! |
Romance / Re: Leaving My Wife For Another Woman: Your Views by Googler(m): 3:59pm On May 24, 2011 |
This is the problem of modernity and Westernisation. There is no need to give up any of the women. You marry them both! Polygamy is a noble institution, except in the minds of some people. I will, however, like to agree with the person who said this other woman may not be good for you, because a woman who encourages you to leave your wife for her is dangerous. But she is also a victim of modernity, as she ought to have realised that to marry her you don't have leave your present wife. 1 Like |

Foreign Affairs / Zimbabwe Women Rapeing Men by Googler(m): 11:52am On May 16, 2011 |
Zimbabwe women raping men for ritual purposes Women in Zimbabwe are said to be abducting and raping men for ritual purposes. In the past 11 months six men have been gang-raped by women, and as per the police the figure could be much higher, as victims are often too embarrassed to report the crime. According to the official Chronicle daily, a 26-year-old policeman from Bulawayo was drugged and raped after he was offered a lift in a minibus with three female passengers. "When he sat down, one of the passengers suddenly put a cloth saturated with a drug on his nose and he passed out," the Scotsman quoted the paper as reporting. When he regained consciousness he found the three women sexually abusing him, and afterwards he was abandoned outside the city, minus his mobile phone and 30 dollars. "Clues given by the victim are being followed up," police spokesman Bekimpilo Ndlovu said. Similar attacks have been reported in Harare, Gweru and Masvingo, some of them at gunpoint. Last month two women forced a 44-year-old to have sex with them on a mattress he had just bought in Harare and was trying to transport back home to western Karoi. Last November, two women locked an 18-year-old youth in Harare's central Roman Catholic Church and raped him. In most cases the victims are drugged and the women use condoms. Social commentators have suggested that traditional healers may have instructed the women to collect semen for use in ritual charms. "These are people who want to make money because of poverty," Gordon Chavunduka, former head of the Zimbabwe National Association of Traditional Healers told the Zimonline news agency. "It is very worrying, our society is in trouble," he stated. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2010-10-09/rest-of-world/28266281_1_three-women-police-spokesman-victims |

Omo_Tier1:No need to be cheeky! Yes, economics is not my forte, but I have clearly stated my point, which is that I had somehow picked up the idea that the physical cash in the reserves was depleted and have now found this is not so. Nowhere was I commenting on the state of Nigeria's economy, debt profile or our readiness for droughts or tsunamis. When Obasanjo left the reserves at 40 billion, were there no debts or hypothetical natural disasters? Actually I am not Jonathan fan and certainly don't have issues with all you have said about the ongoing mismanagement of our resources. I have said so on this forum myself. But nothing can take away my licence to see things the way I see them in all objectivity and intellectual honesty. Thank you. |

bk.babe97y:Hoping you have enough blood left in your heart to read me: I noted the above and what it tells me is that the figure, having previously fallen below that, was up again, to N35b. If there is any other meaning derivable from it, please share it. I have heard a lot about foreign reserves lately and not having followed the matter, concluded they must stand at around $1 or $2 billion. So I was surprised to see a figure of $35 b. What don't you understand in that? And if they stood at $40.83 billion last year and now stand at $35 billion I don't find that outrageous since foreign reserves go up and down. The question would then be what reasons lie behind the fall - is it depleting revenues? Exchange rate fluctuations? Government expenditure? |

Nigeria forex reserves edge up to $35 bln by Apr 8 Tue Apr 12, 2011 1:04pm GMT Print | Single Page [-] Text [+] LAGOS (Reuters) - Nigeria's foreign exchange reserves rose by 3.8 percent to $34.55 billion by April 8, compared to $33.22 billion at the end of last month, the central bank said on Tuesday. The reserves in sub-Saharan Africa's second biggest economy remain significantly lower then a year ago. They stood at $40.83 billion by April 8, 2010. Strong demand for hard currency at its bi-weekly forex auctions has forced the central bank to increase dollar supply and draw on its reserves to defend the local naira currency. Reuters |

This must rank as the worst script ever shot. In fact, the director should be shot. Not even Nollywood in all its notoriety would product such an eyesore. Not even a Nollywood ritual movie starting Kanayo O. Kanayo and directed by Chico Ejiro would put you off this much. I keep watching it because it's a rare opportunity to see what a really really bad telenovella or movie looks like. What do you think? |

As a Christian, here is the first and foremost thing to avoid: SEX. This is clearly stated in St Paul's emails to the brethren. You can listen to lil wayne, drake, baby bash, ludacris etc. Just stay away from that one and it's one way to heaven when you give up the ghost. Good luck! |
