Not only is it common sense but in the bible itself, Jesus made several references to God as his "father".
How could he have been his OWN father? And when he was being crucified, WHO did he pray to? Who did he ask "why has thou forsaken me?" and later on request to "let thy will be done"?

No offence but although I am not one, I know that being a Christian is not about just going to church every Sunday to yell "Amen". It's about believing in and abiding by the laws of the religion not to mention STUDYING the text (the Bible).

If some of you did, you'd know that Jesus was a man, he was not God.

On the bolded. It is true that Jesus is man, but He is also God, not the Father though.

In Numbers 5:11-31, there is a law called “the law of jealousies.” It is a law that pertains to an appeal to the Supreme Court of God to determine guilt or innocence in the event that truth cannot be determined by men. In this law, the priest would actually write the judgments of the law upon a scroll and then submit the case to God for judgment. In this case of the adulterous woman, the woman's accusers were making an appeal to stone the woman based upon the law of Deut. 22:22, but Jesus knew that the witnesses were not credible in the sense that the man involved is NOT brought out to the public to be put to shame and stoned to death according to Deut. 22:22, so He appealed to the law found in Numbers 5, which was to bring the whole thing to the Supreme Court of God.

How did Jesus do the Appeal? Jesus didn't have a scroll with him at the time, so He wrote the judgments of the law upon the ground and what exactly did He write on the ground? The fact that the accusers who were the scribes and pharisees kept the man involved out of the public shame shows that they were partial to the law which they upheld and thought they were keeping. In other words, they were breaking the law they profess to keep and Jesus wrote their judgment on the dust or ground instead of writing the judgment of the woman to appeal it. What Jesus wrote is fulfilled in Jeremiah 17:13 Kjv,

O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, [and] they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.

Also, prior to this event, in John 7: 38-53; the same religious leaders had just rejected Jesus and their bringing the woman alone, keeping the man out of the same is trying to even entrap Jesus Himself as usual of them plus the fact they rejected him as the living waters or fountain of the living waters in John 7:38-53, and they were willing to sacrifice the woman's very life to accomplish their religious act. So since the judgment of the woman was to be written on a scroll but there wasn't a scroll at that very time and Jesus perceived the religious leaders trying to ensnare him by not presenting the man because it takes two to commit adultery, Jesus then wrote the judgment of the scribes and pharisees on the dust which is found in Jer. 17:13 as their condemnation because by keeping the man out of the shame is NOT how the law of Deuteronomy says or intended it when two are caught in adultery about the judgment. Jesus then spoke to them, "he that is without sin should cast the first stone" Hence, Jesus instead of writing the woman's judgment, wrote the accuser's judgment and since they didn't understand it, Jesus spoke to them "he that is without sin should cast the first stone"

The highlighted in bold is the more reason we should have exclusive Christian session. We need to teach and preach the unadulterated truth and preserve the truth of our faith exposing heresies. Moreso, many threads by the Atheists are constantly being polluting our threads on the Christians session. So, if the Atheist session is separated from the Christian session, then there will be focus and peace.

If "Shia" and "Sunni" are in war in the Islam session, it got nothing to do with us. In our case, everyone is allow to prove the truth and whatever someone cannot prove or stand by, then it becomes heresy that we will fight against to preserve the truth. I think we, Christians need exclusive Christian session.

YES! Christians need our exclusive session devoid of ALL these ATHEISTS. I have asked the Moderators for this in the past and I remember JeSoul saying it is exclusively on the Admin (Seun) to do that. Many times, Atheist pollute the Christian discussions and the Muslim session is a "no go area" to the Christians.

It's NOT the doctrine of Trinity that has problem. Trust me when I tell you something. I am NOT claiming to "know" ALL but one thing I do. Before I swallow any teaching, I check very well. Trinity is a bible doctrine (from Genesis to revelation) BUT the way "many or some" people explain it makes it complicated and difficult to understand. If Jesus emptied himself of divinity and left the memory in heaven, how come he told the Jews who don't believed him but hold on to the believe of their father Abraham that, "before Abraham was, I am". In this text, he remembered his divinity. We can pull out many scriptures to refute that teachings.

However, Trinity is NOT a man-made doctrine, It is BIBLE doctrine. The way we explain it differs though. Also, many of us simple don't know the principles of BIBLE INTERPRETATION. When you interpret the bible, you don't "spiritualize" the TEXT. You can spiritualize the TEXT when you apply the TEXT to your life. It is because people spiritualize the TEXT is the reason for many confusion and distortions of ONE bible. Imagine we have ONE bible and people say MANY things on/from one bible. We can prove Trinity since the bible says prove "ALL" things and hold fast to that which is good but our explanation must be made simple. I believe in "Trinity". Jesus is God. The Father is God. Holy Spirit is God. They are ONE as Unity, NOT as Entity and distinct from the other, not the SAME (ONE) splited into THREE. Jesus as God is NOT the same as the Father and the Father is NOT Jesus and the Holy Spirit is NOT Jesus neither the Father.

The problem is NOT the Bible as being used as "reference" by these "everyone" who teach. The problem is "distortion" and "manipulating" the text and holding to the Apostolic teachings and that of Christ. These things are very clear in the bible and the false teachers had been predicted for long. So "some" people will definitely fulfill the prophecy and the saddest thing is that they will claim they are from God, it's all in the same bible.

Notice, it says there WERE "false prophets among the people" of Old, there will be "false teachers among us". It was false prophets then but false teachers now. Why not false prophets then and false prophets now? but it says false teachers now. Because, many will not be able to withstand sound doctrines. Look at how they will operate and people don't notice that, "they will SECRETLY INTRODUCE DESTRUCTIVE HERESIES". Meaning, they will teach this "damnable or destructive heresies" in a subtly way that will seems attractive and sweet to the ears. We MUST watch out for this and the only way is to be ground and rooted in the word of God. That is how we know when someone is "secretly introducing damnable or destructive heresies".

Yes, they were born again. Even when they were "called" and believed in Jesus to follow him, they left their "everything" to follow Christ means salvation during their time. Do you know that there is a "salvation" according to the OT also? But it is based on type and shadows. Abraham "believed" God and it was counted to him for righteousness. This according to the OT types and shadows is salvation. Children of Israel being "saved" from Egypt which is type and shadow of the world and bondage is a type and shadows of OT salvation which was written for our example.

Yeah, All the tithe and offerings stuffs was all JOKES. We are preachers and teachers of righteousness in the end time. Freely we have received, free we have to give. I have come to understand God blesses us BY preaching the Gospel, fulfilling the great commission. We must understand this truth. When we preach and share the gospel, God blesses us. This is a practical truth. Paul said, Woe is me if I preach not the gospel....meaning am cursed if I do not preached the gospel. Then what happens when I preach the Gospel? Am blessed off course. This is a mysteries to those who don't know how to get blessed. They think its by paying tithe. Preaching the gospel is "giving" in one way or the other. Glory to God.

I do NOT judge and if I judge, I judge righteously. One problem people like you have in the body of Christ (I don't mean insult) is that, you "think" everything preached by "famous" evangelist is truth and sound teaching. When we expose or refute such teachings, you simple say we are judging - The reason is that, people like you had been predicted to be among those that CANNOT withstand SOUND doctrines in the last days and that will heap up teachers for themselves to hear what you want to hear, NOT what God wants you to hear. The Rabbis in the days taught from Isa. 53:8 in their words as regards John 7:27 that when the Messiah would be born He would hide Himself and that when He appeared no man would know from whence He had come. They had a Ancient Hebraic proverb, Three things come unexpectedly:

You are one the best people I ever heard here on Nairaland like many other good people that tells the truth. I listen to him too and that is how I got to know he preaches a Grace perverted Gospel. If you don't have the word of God in you, how can you know when a MoG is preaching heresy? Also, Revelation doesn't contradict the canon of the scriptures.

Revelation is unfolding the deep things of God and it might be hard to chew for the babes in Christ but it doesn't contradict the canon of the scriptures. He is a good teacher as you said, but like you, I don't follow blindly a teaching or a message, I will prove and scan it by the word and the Holy Spirit. The funniest thing is that, he claims to teach this heresy by the Spirit of God, this is where I pause and place him where he belongs.

Nine (9) out of every Ten (10) preachers in the United States I listen to on the Television, preaching the word of God will ALWAYS ask for "Seed" offerings for something or the other and in most case some unbiblical or ungodly activities. Some of them go as far as saying, it is offering time after their messages. I have followed this course for some time and searched the truth of this activities from word and the only definition I found in the word of God defining the "SEED" is the same word of God.

So where did these preachers get their definition of "seed" as money? When it comes to giving as far as the word of God is concerned, it can be anything but when it comes to "seed", the word of God itself is the seed and this is what we are to "sow" in/by "faith" so that we can have the reward.

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Luke 8:11

tgirl1986: I would simply like to give a simple advice. If you really want to understand a prtion of the bible that is unclear, PLEASE do not use only one Translation. I noticed that King James is a bit hard to understand probably because of the old English. And i also noticed it has some alterations that seem to hide certain truths. When i do personal bible study i use at least five translations, which makes my study worthwhile.

God bless you my sister. I often use KJV as my primary and consult more than 10 different translations for cross checking and clarity. I use Kjv so as to get use to a reference should I want to verbally "quote" the bible. I love the flow of Kjv when I want to verbally quote it but still use. Kjv is not perfect though but had preserved the truth over the ages. I hope all our brethren follow same example. I must confess, studying the word of God is NOT an easy task for deeper understand, meaning, clarity and much more, for revelations. We need many translations and many study aids.

Thank God you agree Jesus as God. Like I always say, "God" is a general name for supernatural deity. Also take a look at this scriptures,

Very clear and simple. The Father is God but have His unique and distinguishing names. The Son is God but also have His unique and distinguishing names. The Holy Spirit is God and also have many unique and distinguishing names. They are ONE in UNITY, that's why the term "Trinity" is given just for easy understand, the word trinity doesn't occur in the bible, but they are different persons, never in disagreement but always in UNITY and One, not one as an entity but one as a unit. Jehovah Elohim is one God, manifest to mankind as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And the Apostles simply baptised in the name of Jesus, Acts 8:16; 19:5, without disobeying their mandate, did they?

The highlighted is where you are confusing the teaching of Trinity. You said before that "Elohim" is plural but ONE, meaning not one person bears God with the same name. If the father was same that manifest to mankind as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, what happened at the baptism of Jesus? who was Jesus referring to his Father? How did God-the Father anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power and he went about doing good? WHY and HOW?

The first time tithing became a commandment was during moses, and it was actually meant to cater for the childrien of the Levi tribe and levite priest who were set aside for God's work and were not given Land portion when Joshua led the Isrealites to Canaan.
If today's christianity is NT based then they have no business practising Jewish traditions that were only meant for Jews.

This is why I said, you have to deal with context. You should understand the context of "God" am referring to is the "Father". Isn't the Father called "God"? So also the son is called "God". God am referring is the Father that cannot die because he is eternal. The son is God, manifested in the flesh who was the one that died a physical death. I have heard you in the past thread saying, Jesus is fully God and fully man, isn't it? So Jesus as man has to die to redeem man to God, the Father. Jesus as God manifested in the man form. There is nothing confusing about this issue of Trinity but the explanation is what's confusing.

First of all God is a Spirit. Secondly Jesus came in bodily form, but he pre-existed, he , by the power of the Spirit laid down his life on his own volition.

I cannot die, you cannot die if we remain in Christ. Physical death is not real death pertaining to eternity and the continuation of our lives.

Jesus in the verse you quote is the "I" and he made reference to the "Father". It's not a matter of we agree or not, it a matter of we, "talking" what the bible says. So in the context you quoted, Is Jesus the same as the Father?

Yes, it's easy and simple but you are complicating and confusing the matter. Jesus is God, the Father is God BUT they are not the same, very clear from the scriptures. So people (men) and angels can worship Jesus simple because he is God. That is the simplicity of the matter my brother.
