Sir, please stop threatening us with touch not my anointed here. All children of God are men and women of God. Pastor is a gift in the body of Christ and they can be corrected or judged by same believer(s) should they err. And again, please don't derail this topic. Let's stay on the subject of tithing. I don't know, but I know I'm under grace. Shouldn't the ones that can be observed be observed? Note that I have not claimed to know the true position concerning this topic; rather I want to learn more.

The laws and the prophets to the best of my knowledge has been summarized in two: Love the Lord your God and Love your neighbor as yourself.

The position of this topic is that, some folks here say we must continue to pay tithes in this christian age while other folks says tithes are no longer required in these christian age.

Anybody can give different reasons not to go into agriculture or farming business. As far as am concerned, I AM A LIVING PROOF THAT GRASSCUTTER FARMING CAN WORK, IT WORKED AND STILL WORKING IN NIGERIA AND WEST AFRICA AS A WHOLE. OURS IS A VERY BIG FARM IN BADAGRY, LAGOS STATE AND STILL EXPANDING.

obviously you do not know the power of the words of God. the words of God is ambiguous and does not apply to specific events. The word of God is like a two edged sword HEBREWS 4 VS 12. and the context in which i used the word is a correct context. it says he does not want people adding their own opinions to his words. i think thats pretty self explanatory. hopefully even a supposed learned person like yourself can comprehend the simplicity of that verse.

I can't but agree with my two friends and brothers in the Lord, Pastor Kun and Frosbel. They're both wonderful people. Today, the church is messed up by the pulpit and many have come to believe whatever comes from the pulpit without validating from deep study of the word of God.

When the Son of God shall return in His glory, shall he find faith on earth? Because many shall depart and as a matter of fact, many has departed from the true faith, giving heed to seductive spirits and teachings of demons in the pulpits and traditions of men.

"Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons". 1 timothy 4:1 (NLT)

As  much as i agree with you that everything we say on this forum must be backed by valid bible verses, even as many of us quote out of context verses to back up our claim/thought of the word of God. However, the bible verse you also quoted has nothing to do with argument, it is based on a prophet saying what God didn't tell such prophet to say. As in a prophet speaking out of his thought using same way of prophet gift to convey his message. The truth is there is no basis for disagreement. The idea of tithing is not my idea hence it's not a question of me dropping it. It is not a case of who is right or wrong either but as all are persuaded in their hearts based on God's word. We rightly divide the word of truth by studying. Our discussion will make us go back to study and speak life to the hearers.

I am willing for us to discuss, objectively, and not argue on the points you made on your thread, or on this thread. Let us discuss like we would just as brothers in Christ if you care to.

Thanks my brother. I know this will take us a very long time (if not months) to do but am also willing we do it, and do it right. It doesn't matter how long as long as we are both willing to do it right.

Our rules and objectives will be:

We must agree on one step or view (comparing both's view) before we go on to another/next issue. In other words, we both look critically at definitions and all things surrounding. Again, we need to know which group you belong. The pre-law category who believe in tithing or the tithing under the law? Also, every of our statement must be backed by scriptures. Our personal idea or interpretation is not needed. We both keep open mind to learn through each other's view. (I leave you to also contribute your rules here alongside with mine)

In my view and understand, Jesus was born under the law and the law (Ten commandments and tithe inclusive) was done away with and no longer needed. I hope to hear your view here and we agree before we can progress. It is going to really interesting as I will definitely learn from you and you will also learn from me. Let's go step-by-step.

I don't have to respond because you want to stay on your point and I want to stay on my point, so we don't have any means of rightly dividing the word of truth. However, am willing to that we look critically into this should you be will to drop your idea and am willing to do same, not arguing but putting line-by-line to see what exactly the word of God says about tithing, not who is right or who is wrong. We are learning too well here. Everyone of us that is against the "monster" called tithe believe in giving. This is what the New testament teaches. I can't contribute more knowledge to tithe teachers who already made up their minds.

This is the KEY to understand Matthew 23 vs 23. Tithe teachers had taken verse 23 out of context.

Matthew 23:1-3

v1. Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples

v2. "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. (N.I.V)

v2. "The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses. (NLT)

v2. Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: (KJV)

v3. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. (NIV)

v3. So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don't follow their example. For they don't practice what they teach (NLT)

v3. All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. (KJV)

v4. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. (NIV)

Then read verse 23 in context.

Jesus was recognizing ordained authority after the law of moses because he was still under the law during his days. Notice he told his disciples and the crowd, "DO NOT DO WHAT THEY DO" verse 3.

VERY CLEAR AND SIMPLE, IF THE PHARISEES AND TEACHERS OF THE LAW PAY TITHES, IN VERSE 23, JESUS WOULD BE SAYING TO HIS DISCIPLE NOT TO PAY TITHE AS IN VERSE 3.

Thanks so much and God bless you. You really need to be deep and drunk in the word of God to deal with my brother Joagbaje. Many times, he takes scripture verses out of context. When you have the gift of teaching the word of God, you MUST understand you CANNOT explain bible with you own words. You MUST let the bible interprete and explain itself using other relative verses. You cannot just lift a verse and make a teaching out of it, that's not how to be a bible teacher or student of the word of God.

Infact, the body of Christ is expected to behave well in the society. You need to understand this truth. For you to rub evil in the head and defend such even though it's the same body of Christ is partaking in evil itself. When Apostle Paul was saying, "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord, " he wasn't talking to people outside the body of Christ, he was talking to believers (2cor.6:17). I do have preachers that i also love but my brother, when they err and does evil or something wrong from the bible's view, i don't hide under such evil that they are right and defend them. To do that is to share out of their evil and punishment. EVIL IS EVIL, BAD IS BAD, NO MATTER WHO IS INVOLVED.
