Didn't see where any one refutes if it will power it or not, sure it will, not advisable is 'what has been preached'. My neighbour here is a living witness, the gen don don wear like dis, Firman Rugged 3100 starting and 2700w running. Generator begin get issues when he started using it on his 1.5hp non inverter AC. Gen has never been the same till date, it's a long epistle.

But there's no 3.5kva in the chart, it's 2.5kva for 1hp and 3.75kva for 1.5hp, I see no discrepancy here.

If a generator has is 3.5kva which 2.8kw how and why can't it power 1.5hp AC when 1.5 hp = 1.12kw

Considering taking 30% off load is 1.96kw are you still saying it can't power it.

He may not be correct about his claims on standards but motors and compressors depending on type use up more power during startup, sometimes its even up to 3 times their running power.

Wow. If u check the comments section of people who bought this brand of gen on jumia, most of them have been using it on acs. Most especially the 1.5hp split variant. I don't get it really. If the tec Bobo max 2.2kva gen can run an ac as stated in its manuals, a 3.5kva should also.

Dem nr talk whether na inverter type AC or not.

Yeah, I sure know the effects of Dolby Atmos, but the experience is not the same for all devices. In fact it's virtually useless for some devices.

From my findings online, this is about 1.5hp, not advisable.
Modified : more popular sources say 12000BTU/h is around 4.7Hp, hmmm.

My money never reach inverter ac though, but what I plan to get uses low current. Even as low as 170 volts. It's a bruhm 1.5hp. The new gen I'm getting is a lutian 3.5kva. The only reason I'm buying this model is because of the good reviews so far by people who've bought it. It is said that it can conviniently carry a 1.5hp ac.

But current and power are not the same ooo. When you said it uses low current you actually meant low voltage. Your generator will not produce low voltage for you unless you reduce the running speed, and if you do that it will be even more difficult for your generator to power your AC.

Should be around 3-3.3kva. But the most important thing is the rated/ surge watts and the running watts. Yours is 2.8kW (2800W) rated and 2.5kW(2500W) running. You calculate your load using the running watts, so work with 2500W.

Finally got sumer c original gen at 160k. The elepaq na fake. The elepaq avr was created with yp when the coil was opened. The other sumec pics is fake sumec with 50/50 copper and aluminium. They opened it. The coil is not pure copper and its few. Compared to elepaq. Elepaq own is pure coper and not mixed with aluminium. I checked both out. Firman try but they are doing substandard now

Is the store an accredited Firman store? It's a well known fact that Firman being the most popular brand has more counterfeit out there.

I have a sumec firman 1.1kva generator that powers my TV, LG 1000 Watts dvd sound system, 2 fans, inside and outside lights. I sometimes use it to blend my groceries too, without stress. I've been using it like that for the past 6 years without any issues or problems. What matters most is I regularly service it and use the recommended branded oil, not the road side oils. Hence that 1.5 is good to go. Just buy it from a reputable dealer. I'm currently planning to upgrade to a bigger gen make the old gen retire , I want to get a 1.5hp ac and I need something to power my fridge. A Tec 2.2kva will deliver.

For that 1.5hp AC, you should be looking at a 3.5kva generator, and it will be better if the AC is the inverter type.

Thanks chairman. But I recently changed the oil too. Like 9-10 days ago.
Although I recently bought a new sewing machine that requires the motor to run continiously without stopping unless I stop it, more like a ceiling fan. It's a 400W induction motor. N I notice the first time I used it with the gen, it almost went off but it picked it. Aft that day, no problem, I even used that machine for hours. Everything went fine till yesterday.

How many hours do you run your generator daily? If you run your generator 24 hours everyday, you'll need to be changing the oil within 3 days.

Hello everyone.
I use a sumec firman spg3000. Of late, it goes off by itself aft 30minutes to 1 hour usage. It just trips off like someone put it off. I've cleaned the plug n air filter but the problem still persists. What could be the cause and the solution pls. Thanks

Check the oil level, if it's down fill it up. You may need to change oil.
