dasamek8: Great Nigerians, great students and great medics. I want to use this opportunity to solicit your support, advice and guidance. Please I am confused and deeply disturbed, disturbed concerning this coming UTME and subsequent 2017/2018 admissions. I want to study either of biochemistry, microbiology, physiology or anatomy as first degree in any of these uni Delsu, absu, ansu, imsu, funai, esut before proceeding to study medicine. Then my questions are as follows: Can I cross over to medicine on the successful completion of the aforementioned programs Must it be through direct entry or does other media exist Which unis allow their medical students complete a BSc in any basic biomedical sciences eg biochem, physiology e.t.c for 3/4yrs before the 3/4yr medical/clinical program leading to the award of mbbs. I heard of Delsu's similar policy but havn't confirmed really yet. What is the normal utme cutoff for biochem. And finally what are my chances to be admitted in delsu or Absu to study either of medicine or biochemistry being from Anambra state. Thanks in advance dasamek8@gmail.com 08065620425 Sorry getting a first degree doesn't guarantee your entering into clinical class on admission. If you do a first degree you will need to be admitted through direct entry into 200 level, so my advice is seek direct utme admission into medicine once don't put your self through that stress, for more info on Delsu medical school you can pm me I will be there to help |

thecrush: Thats the point... This is wicked
Abeg tell me how many will get beyond 34/60 in jamb?
Even ur As in WAEC cannot help you.
Schools may just hav to use 30/100 as cutoff if they want to be fair.
At the University of Ibadan, waec and jamb combo was used for three yrs. The method was later seen as unfair cos it favoured only those with high jamb and waec scores and didn't givr chance to those who really worked hard... i mean those with the average marks...
Postjamb exams was a way to give a level playinh ground to them all....
This method no good! I fault your claims, post jamb exam is not and can never be a way out. Sorry to say but post ume is even the most corrupt in them all, first the rate of machinery used for post jamb is alarming, don't ask me how try find out yourself 2ndly most schools are very disorganized in conduct of post ume exams. Just note the true reason schools want to continue post ume is because of the money they are milking from it, just imagine a university sold form for 5k then 1k as bank charge that's a total of 6k do you think this is fair?? |

Whizzdom: What are they harmonizing for? when the NLC and FG cant reach an agreement point.
Why is it that it is only when FG increases petrol price that the NLC Strikes?
Why didnt NLC strike when there was shortage of food in country or when market foodstuffs skyrocked to high prices. Why!
NLC is politically motivated either by the former NLC Leader Gov. Adams Oshiomole (because he was in the meeting between NLC & FG) or some other idiotic politicians. some answers that may sooth you,: 1. NLC can't strike or bring down the whole nations economy because one or few governors can't pay salary 2. NLC can't strike simply because prices of food went up, can you imagine closing our airport hospitals and others because prices are up?? 3. NLC can go to strike because fg has officially increased pump price, note price during scarcity isn't official price of products. What the anti corruption government should do is rather to tame those responsible for hoarding the pms, can you imagine IPMAN supporting this new price, if fg insist they are corrupt and they support this new regime price what does that pass to you?? Note I support Buhari but in this very one he is very wrong, how he handles this strike will go along way in Nigeria history, either he will become the man that killed NLC or the one that is insensitive |

Proudlyngwa: I will start with Two proverbs, What an adult sees sitting down, A child wont be able to see even he climbs an Iroko. When playing draught , you tend not to see the game like the man watching. Earlier this day , A write up came up with a statement accredited to Gov. Dickson, claiming Bayelsans are lazy https://www.nairaland.com/3111431/gov-dickson-right-most-rivers https://www.nairaland.com/3110142/bayelsans-lazy-governor-dickson , not long afterwards , the Ijaw defender and PDP reformer came up with a counter article, very lovely https://www.nairaland.com/3112679/gov-dickson-goofed-bayelsans-ijaws . Unfortunately none of them did justice as they were players on the drought board. As someone who has worked in over 60 communities in Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states (the states with the most Ijaws) as an environmentalist. This is my unbiased opinion. NOTE: This article is meant to set records straight, is not wholistic, is open to modifications and should not be used as a scholarly record and is in no way meant for ethnic bashing. KIDS KEEP OFF. In this article you will permit me to use Bayelsans /Ijaws inter changeably. Ijaws are a collection of people synonymous to our coastlines in predominantly Bayelsa, Delta , Rivers but not limited to these states, as a kid growing up in Lagos we believed that anywhere there was water there was an Ijaw man. We always had this feeling that government always did them injustice by not taking them to the Olympics as they could do anything including staying underwater for one hour. Ijaws were friendly and always smiling; they were predominantly fishermen and the only way to sell their wares was to be happy , till today you still see that happy countenance on the faces of the mothers, Their men were free and hardworking, Ijaw men those days were hardworking fishermen and those oppurtuned to go to school took it serious as it wasn’t easy in those days, remember in old Rivers state the Riverines had more educated and influential men than the Upland people. To cap it they loved the booze and the loved the females, I don’t know if they were into smoking that is for ijaw sons to decide. Fastfoward to current day Ijawland (Bayelsa) and with enough federal and Industrial presence the sons of the hard working jovial men are being called Lazy. We go back to the Draught players, there is something they know we don’t know, but there is something we see they might not see. The current most notable Ijaw man is former President Goodluck Jonathan and he never got to his pinnacle by being lazy, agreed he had abundance of goodwill and goodluck, but he also put in tremendous effort. We have other noteable Ijaw men too numerous to include who hardwork has paid off for e.g. being our twitter senator C.E.O the Silverbird group amidst a host of others. I believe Dickson himself is an Ijaw man and he got to his position via Hardwork.
Unfortunately the shine is being taken of them by agitators, this group of people have become the poster boys for that region. Growing up in the south from the early 90s the mentality has always been that the government (north) is cheating us, this had nothing to do with resource control rather over 20something years of constant rule by people from the north(Still the Ijaws were law abiding and friendly.) PROBLEM STARTED IN NOT JUST IJAWLAND BUT NIGERDETA AS A WHOLE WHEN (1)GOVERNMENT LEFT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO MULTINATIONALS AND (2)ALSO STOPPED THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES AS WATCHDOGS WHEN GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WERE SETTLED E.G. ON LOCAL CONTENT UTILIZATION AND ECOLOGY DEGRADATION.
What is going on in Ijawland did not start today, but without knowing the truth we can never ever solve it. The multinationals having been left to dry by corrupt Government officials, as humans they were looked for the easy way out. They sought the chiefs of those communities and befriended them with material gifts and then did the Abominable, empowered them to subdue their kindred’s, while offering their wards juicy positions in the oil and servicing companies.
Power corrupts but envy kills faster. Resentment grew in the region until it exploded and we have what we have today. For peace to reign the multinationals sought out the strongest youths and settled them this ones also had followers and it has become a cycle. The itch has become a sore on the testicles and amputation is not an option.
1. Acknowledgement of wrong doing, the Government(federal/state) needs to admit it failed in its responsibility of its primary duty being governance, and ask for forgiveness.
2.A massive reorientation programme needs to be carried out, even if resource control is given today, it will be hijacked by the more powerful.
3.Make it a punishable Offence for oil and service companies to give cash incentives.
4. Fast Reintegration , Most Niger delta youths are out of touch with reality, civil orgarnisations , religious bodies, media and enlightened ones have a huge role to play in dispensing the trash most niger delta youths believe in, especially on the streets.
It is only a fool will believe there is no problem in the niger delta, the problem is more psychological than physical. We must all come together to see it come to an end as I leave you with this adage of our fathers. Finally the Governor should have refined his words to pass a soul message to bayelsans, that others are becoming better because of your unwillingness to seize oppurtunities.
When oil stains one finger, it affects the whole hand.
May the wisdom of the lord see us through. God bless the Ngwas God bless the Ijaws God bless Abia State God bless Bayelsa and the entire Niger Delta God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
cc lalasticlala mynd44 , the world needs to know bayelsans are not physically lazy.
cc dabullit tuale4u jusmudi hopeathand dearpreye tonyebarcanister MyPWisINCORRECT modath omenka dropshot and all well meaning bayelsans ijaw sons and nigerdeltans ,as well as other nigerians and foreigners who have worked in ijawland and nigerdelta as a whole. lets correct this notion once and for all, THANKS. nice write up |

LazyGoat: Hello dear nairalanders, there is this thread i saw on nairaland fp, about a man with a female brest who came to a church. And since that day i saw that thread my mind has not been at rest ever since, because i have been living with the same condition for over 5 years now, without anybody knowing except myself. I have this big tissue on both sides on my brest under my nipple, it looks like a seed, at first when it first started it was so very painful for me, but now it is no longer painful. I think i have endured this very shameful burden for so long now and i think now its the time i seek some solution to it before it will be too late. Let me give a brief explanation on how this problem has affected my life in so many ways. I will be 22 on july 13 this year. It first noticed this tissue growing on my chest in the year 2009 it looks like a woman's brest and to make matter worst it did't match my skin colour its more fairer than my actual skin. It all started when i was still in secondary school i was in SS1 then, it caused me so many embarassment then because its showing in my uniform when ever the breeze is blowing towards my direction, you will notice that there is something in there, i avoided all forms of gatherings including my school assemblings, i avoided camps like a plague, i no longer use bare chest into the bathroom, not even singlet, i always wear shirts into the bathroom, since the year 2009 till date am still wearing shirts to the bathroom when ever am about to take my bath, and in all no body not even my mother or any of my family members has ever seen my chest or my back since 2009 till date as am typing this now, never had a relationship with any girl since then. It has caused me great pains and sorrows, i just think i should end my life now because of this problem am so ashamed of my self, i don't know what to do with my life my life has been very miserable and pitiful since this problem started i just hate my self, i always loves been alone and i only moves at night with my normal shirts, any single movement in the daytime from me i always goes with my big sweater to make it less noticeable. Am tired of life, my life is so frustrated and miserable all am always thinking about is how to end my life. please nairalanders help me please if at all there is any solution to this problem. I want to know and how much it will cost to get rid of it. . . Please mods help me push this to front page to get more reviews and replys. Thank God you were able to post this, please don't take advice randomly especially those saying go and gym, this is GYNECOMASTIA, agreed but there could be different root cause of it, the best advice is go see a doctor |

Acidosis: You've seen a better man already, right?
Please let him be, don't crash his marriage. Whether the girl is a village girl from Akwa Ibom or not, the truth is that she had something you didn't have (its not your fault). The lady is ready to move to Mowe, while you're not ready for such.
Only a lady who has seen another man ALREADY will do all you did. Mind you, he has been dating that lady for years. No man, I repeat no man will meet a new girl and get married to her within a space of 2 months. It will never happen in Nigeria.
Your storyline is sweet, but it takes a culpable, fickle, gullible and predisposed mind to believe your story hook line and sinker. Something is missing in your post and I know it. |
Romance › Re: I Stormed His Wedding & Made Him Cry After He Broke My Heart by Gr8amechi: 6:28pm On Feb 15, 2016 |
nlfan: This Is How I Broke Him Down After He Broke My Heart
I met this young man when i was 21 and he was 24 we dated 4 years, we were both struggling, we stayed with each other and help each other to grow.
We grow to become successful and i became very influential in my field and he was so proud of that.
Last october we agreed to walk down the isle, we were planning where we are going to stay after the wedding, he stays somewhere in Lagos mainland while i stay in the island. He told me that he will be moving somewhere in Mowe in Ogun State where his father built a house about 2 years ago.
I told him that will not be a good idea, going from Mowe to Victoria Island everyday will be terrible for me since we can afford a house in Lagos at least for now or we stay where he is staying currently, he maintained he cant change, we could not reach an agreement on that, the next thing i got a shocker, he traveled for event outside Lagos to the east, where he comes from, only to get attracted to a girl he met there and came boldly to tell me, if i cannot marry him and stay at mowe, there are so many good girls who will rush the offer and in annoyance i told him, have you found one please marry her.
To my surprise few days after i saw a photo of him and that girl he just met, less than two months all over social media, he has engaged her.
Initially i was pained, but let's face it he doesn't deserve my tears, his groups of friends started calling my line to ask when we stopped dating since we still stepped out recently to his friend birthday.
I didnt know what to say i asked them to ask him, things went that way and i started hurting, after he did official intro to the girl i knew it was over, i called him and told him i wish him happiness and best of luck with his wife to be.
He felt bad but said he knew i was a good person that he is not shocked i called, i ask him to keep me updated on wedding plans and he did and i told him i will attend he said he will be grateful.
On the wedding day, during the reception i showed up, i had gone to get a very flattering dress, i even paid for make up, i looked so beautiful i couldn't believe myself too
When i entered the room everybody went crazy, all his friends and associate knew me, some are even pained at what he did to me, i showed up all his friends rushed to greet me, it took over 30 minutes to cheek kiss all of them and hug a few, the few people who didn't know me was wondering who i was and why i am so beautiful
I went up to greet him, he almost fell down from where he was standing, i greeted his wife ( a village girl from akwa ibom lol - the way she pronounce the thanks for coming though )
I started catching fun and dancing crazy, my ex couldn't stand it anymore, he ask his wife to go inside the car only him came to greet his guys where i was seated, THEN BROKE DOWN IN TEARS
HE CRIED SO LOUD LIKE PEOPLE WERE SCARED, People will think that i will disappear from there scene since he was crying, i was still seated shaking body to the tune of music, he then told one of his friend, i don't know but i think i messed up - the guy was like you messed up big time, are you just realizing, then live with it the rest of your life, his wife rushed out of the car i guess he heard his prince charming was crying, he came and the moment she opened her mouth to ask daring wot isssit, guys had funny faces about to explode.
At that point he left and i continue hanging out with his friends before oping into my car to go home. He sent a touching sms yesterday. I am both proud and also disappointed in you, |
