It's a pity that some people commenting here against dalung were happy when the so called Supreme Court was making rubbish decisions during elections. Am sorry to divert but this situation shows clearly that our Supreme Court is compromised. Dalung isn't the problem but the Supreme Court.
Stop blaming dalung and start blaming the Supreme Court that gave the stupid judgement
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, West Ham Or Tottenham: Who'll Rule London This Season? by Gr8amechi: 3:35pm On Jul 27, 2018
damickey:

The 2018/19 Premier League season beckons, and the top sides have been active in the ongoing summer transfer window as they prepare to stake a claim for the notable laurels that will be available for grabs in England. As other sides go about their reinforcement plans, the clubs in London are also gearing up towards an exciting 2018/19 Premier League season that will be characterised by a good number of tough London derbies.

Tottenham Hotspur unexpectedly emerged as the best club from London in the league last season as they finished in the top 4 and will be in the UEFA Champions League next season, while perennial London heavyweights in Chelsea and Arsenal were relegated to the Europa. A power shift appears to be brewing in London with Pochettino’s men leading the charge, and other London clubs might be set to follow suit.

West Ham aka The Hammers have recently hired Manuel Pellegrini and have shown intent to prove their mettle in the upcoming season, as they aim to play exciting and attack-minded football. They’ve also broken their transfer record with the signing’s they’ve made to ensure that this is possible, and they will definitely be aiming to quash the monopoly of Chelsea and Arsenal as the best London clubs in the Premier League, a quest that Spurs appear to be having headway in recently.

The question is; Who’ll rule London in the forthcoming 2018/19 Premier League season? Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea? Unai Emery’s Arsenal? Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur? Or I dare ask. Slavisa Jokanovic’s newly promoted exciting Fulham? Or spoilers Crystal Palace? London derbies abound in the upcoming season!

Funny enough, among the top three London clubs, Spurs’ Pochettino appears to be the one with the most experience in the Premier League. Who would have thought? Chelsea and Arsenal have new men at the helm in the persons of Maurizio Sarri and Unai Emery respectively. However, from a Blues point of view, regardless of Sarri’s antecedent of no winning a silverware in his coaching career, his work of making Napoli a major force in the Serie A with a consistent playing style speaks volumes.

Who’ll rule London? This is a tough question to answer presently, but it’s one that will surely be answered when the season commences. Chelsea have what it takes to regain their position as the best London side in the Premier League in recent times, and hopefully, as the club makes major reinforcements to the squad in the ongoing transfer window, it ends up being the case in the 2018/19 Premier League season.

Am a city fan but truth be told, all odds are on Liverpool to lift the trophy. This is the best season they have to do that, I hope Pep comes up with a strategy to win it for us though

Thank you but there was no need for the insults. If you treat me and my people this way why do you think we would want to cling towards you?? Let's not make same mistakes of fathers made

First of all i understand that APC supporters feel like they are supposed to be at war with Igbos and seeing that u are an APC supporter, its no surprise that u would say wat u just said about Igbos being selfish and all. Well as u can see in this very thread that some people from Anioma accepted that they are Igbos and would like to join the se region.

But most importantly is that u have missed the point of this thread. The point was never if all Anioma are Igbo or not. That will never be agreed on...even by Anioma people among themselves. Some will always say-like u-that they are not Igbos while some like anioma1stson would accept that he is Igbo. The point of this thread is a mutual benefit for Anioma and SE. U want ur own state and SE needs one more state. There are shared cultures too btw Anioma and SE....so why not team up and agitate together for the creation of Anioma state and its inclusion in se region. That u guys are in SE will not authomatically make u all Igbos...u can still maintain ur distinct ethnicity while within the se and collaborating with se elected leaders for shared interests.

All states in Nigeria are independent and so will Anioma state be...but lets be sincere...the ss already has 6 states...do u think any other region will allow for the creation of 7 states in ss? only se has 5 states...so almost certainly only se is going to get one extra state any time soon...would u rather have ur Anioma in se region or not have it at all? All states must be attached to a geopolitical zone.
My friend try and be objective, you made good points in your response but spoilt it with the opening sentence.
If you read what I said, I said we don't need to say we are Igbos to work together for a common interests get that straight.
I agree on the se needing one more state. But stop making it an "igbo" affair. Niger delta is a very diverse region but have fought some very good fights and won, if the Igbos can stop forcing identity on us there is definitely no point we can't work together.
The fear of some minority tribe in Anioma about this is the fear of lost identity, if you guys can acknowledge us as and give us the respect accord us see the north they have different tribes but when it comes to shared interest they are one but within then they respect that they have separate tribes and tongues let the Igbos across the Niger change their orientation first. Everything else will fall in place and mind you we need more than 6 state the ss and se must form a synergy and keep all these rubbish of being igbo or not.
Lastly I demand an apology from you for you first state, You must grow above these PDP APC stuff. Look at the north they have people in all the parties that's how it should be PDP isn't a southern party.

Still on this matter, I know many people from Anioma axis think that they should be a seperate ethnic group.
How ever its a fact that they answer Igbo names, speak a dialect of the Igbo language, have Igbo traditions and share a border with mainland south east. Yes they may also have a connection to the binis but for some reason they did not evolve bini names, language nor culture. They evolved Igbo

There is never going to be a way in this country that a man whose name is Chibuzo Dike will not be regarded as Igbo by everybody. Why do u think it was Gej and not peter odili that became yaradua's vp. Why do u think Kaduna Nzeogwu's coup is regarded as an Igbo coup.

We the Igbos of se only agreed to be called igbos recently too. Otherwise before the white men came, we were Ngwa people, Bende people, Nsukka people, Agbenu people, Wawa people etc etc just like you are Anioma people. There has never been (and will never be) a central Igbo ruler. What we have as Igbos is our shared language and culture. Nothing else. A DNA check might reveal that the Aba people are more brotherly to the Akwaibom people than they are to the onitsha people. However, all that dont matter any more. What matters is that in the 21st century, we all speak the same language and share same culture.

Let Anioma state be created and joined with the south east for the following reasons

[1] It will be a predominantly Igbo-speaking state

[2] Even if the people do not consider themselves Igbo, there are more cultural ties that bond them with other states in the south-east geo-political zone than the south south geopolitical zone

3] Aniomans have always been treated as second class Igbos because they were part of the Western Region and Bendel States. If they are made part of the south-east, that will stop.

[4] Let us face it, the Urhobos, Itshekhiris and Ijaws in Delta State outnumber the Aniomas and would not allow them to achieve dominant positions within the state

[5] At the moment, the south-east is the one zone crying out for more states.

[6] There is nothing wrong with states in one zone being on different sides of the River Niger. Remember that Benue State is south of the river, as is Kwara State, yet they are in the north central zone.

[7] According to Cornelius Adebayo, the Yorubas in Kwara and Kogi States want to create Oya State and make it part of the south-west. If this happens, a precedence has been set.

[8] I know a lot of Aniomans have a deep afinity towards Benin and Edo but being part of the south-east does not mean this will end. The Yorubas of Ilorin do not stop celebrating the Oro festival just because they are in the north-central political zone.

[9] A lot of Aniomans have not been able to occupy positions their abilities deserve because they have been victims of not being clear cut members of ethnic groups. For instance Senator Patrick Osakwe of Asaba could not be put forward for senate president, despite the fact that he is probably the most qualified Igbo-speaking senator for the job. Being part of the sout-east will resolve this.

[10] Creating Anioma State and making it part of the south-east, should lead to an increased westward migration of Igbos. This is necessary because of the high population density in the region which is putting pressure on resources, leading to a host of social problems.

What are your thoughts.
Remember the south needs more states to be able to challenge the north in the national assembly and south east particularly need one more state to be able to have an equal voice with other zones in Abuja.
There is one problem o have with people like you. Come to delta state the Urhobos and the Isoko speak similar language have almost same names in fact just google the word isobo and you would see their history but as at today they don't agree to be one despite all their similarities.
Now for the factor that you are mutually intelligible with someone doesn't translate to one and same.
The issue is have with most of you guys across the Niger is your mindset, All you just said here is how the creation of anioma state would favour you and not even how it affects the primary people involved.
I agree the way the nation is structured currently is not good enough but The south east can fight their fight and you don't need to force an identity on anyone. Anioma is a very complex place that has lots of history and origin even among same tongue they have different history of origin so do you intend to force them to abandon their ancestry just to be called Igbos??
South east Igbos should face their fight. One problem we have in Nigeria is everyone is selfish and you just displayed that in your statement.
Anioma state would come at when due and hopefully we would be an independent state we can work together politically but please keep out your ideas of being one. No body wants to be a second class citizens in a place they call their home and
It's no news you guys see us as not really Igbos and thank you we have never been and we would never be. It's time aniomaStands and get an identity and stop being under any shadow

just like the doctors.

as it stands now. a house officer the lowest cadre of doctors earn 180k. I have seen the pay slip of a friend that works in irrua specialist teaching hospital.

I'm neither a doc or a pharmacist or a nurse
but the disparity and cheating is too much mhen.

let's call a spade a spade.

Everyone knew the pay disparity before choosing their career paths.
That house officer you talked about have you tried checking his work schedule?? In some centres these guys are on calls every alternate days and you think that's normal??
I definitely want government to increase the salary of others but using the doctor's salary as a yardstick was out of it.
For the headship of hospital try and check websites of most teaching hospitals around the world and see who is the head.
Other health workers are indispensable but not equals to doctors. Even among doctors all are not equal but all are mutually dependent

Are you also are aware Sir that all these other professionals in the health sector counterpart abroad do postgraduate studies but the selfish and what I do not know how to describe attitude of the conglomerate of Medical Doctors are blocking these opportunity in Nigeria? So that these all other health professionals do not get the opportunity to rise to the qualification to head an hospital? Common! you can only pretend not to be aware of this. I am a Physiotherapist if I have my cash today and I establish a Physiotherapy clinic/ hospital. I can establish a clinic and recruit a Medical Doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist or any other health care professional as far as I can pay him/her and he accepts the terms of agreement. I will run my clinic successfully without inviting a specific personnel somewhere because it is an administrative position, I have Medical Doctors as friends while I was in school and after school and there was no part of their curriculum that they were thought on how to run an hospital. Running an hospital is a inbuilt skill (leadership) that any professional in the health sector can do.
The last time I checked pharmacy and the others have postgraduate studies, masters PhD, please correct me if am wrong. Even medical lab also have.
I definitely do not want any profession to be held back never but the issue here is let's not deviate from our original calling. Every aspect and branch or unit of the hospital is important and irreplaceable but some reason more important than the others and there is always heirachy in everything, if there is no heirachy there will always be confusion.
The cleaner is very important but not more important than the records, the record is important but not more important than the cashiers/accountants, the guys in pac are unique but are not more important than the radiographer,
The med lab is unique but you can't rule out the essential duties of a physiotherapist.
I can go on and on, Infact a surgeon is important but can we operate without our nurses or even the portal who will role the patient to theatre??
Even among doctors we are all indispensable but not equals, you can't say a community physician is as important in patient care to a physician or a surgeon,
Infact you can't say the work load of a neurosurgeon is same to that of a general surgeon.
Now we must have mutual respect for each other but we have to maintain our boundaries, do you think it's right for all the health workers to say they want to start doing residency?? You already have your career path,
Even if it's okay by you, in the USA they have nurse practitioner, despite this title doesn't mean they don't take instructions of patient management from doctors.
A nurse is a nurse while a doctor is a doctor. That's the case we are having here, people are not after going further in their fields they just want to challenge anything the doctor says.
I blame doctors for the cause of most things in the health sector, first the primary reason for most of JOHESU agitations is born out of anger that the doctors are not treating them with respect hence they want to be at par with them which I think Inst the way out, rather let's all agitate for mutual work place respect. Even among doctors bully and disrespect is worst, so it's not just a JOHESU stuff but JOHESU is handling this the wrong way.
Now if we have a consultant medical lab, what becomes the role of the consultant pathologist??
I agree with you that leadership wasn't taught in medical school back then but try and check back medical curriculum, management and leadership has been included in some parts of community medicine, however I don't think that's enough though to run an organization and I still wish that more strict criteria be used to determine the head.
But it's a pity that medical personnels like pharmacist, nurses, physiotherapist etc will join up with account and none medical professionals to demand for pay parity with doctors, if only pharmacist, etc are fighting I would understand but try and reason it how can you pay an account similar structure as a doctor just because he is in the hospital, hope you remember payment for job is about the technicalities you offer not just being in the job.

while i agree with your submission, i must stress that what i wrote earlier was that doctors MUST NOT always head medical facilities and other should also be given the opportunity. remember that other professionals can equally get higher academic qualifications too.
Do you know where these whole issues are coming from??
Nigerian as a country don't have a complete template, in the USA, hospitals are mostly privatised and their CEO are not even medical people, they are core business men who all they want to make is money.
Now the only place a doctor has a chance of rising to the top as head is the hospital head, a pharmacist heads the pharmaceutical industry, no doctor has ever asked to head a pharmaceutical industry, more so do you know pharmacy has lots of other branches but only the clinical pharmacist works in the clinical setting while every aspect of medical professionals works in the hospital.
Lastly all teaching hospital has medical students but definitely not all teaching hospital has pharmacy, med lab or radiographer undergraduate. Now the fear lies, with the current hatred of doctors how will the JOHESU treat those students in those facilities if they were to take full headship??
For me I want government to create the CEO different from the cmd, let the CEO be someone entirely different not even related to health at all.
But how will you run an organization were you have no idea??
This fight will go in for long until we all learn to value our individual professions

very simple. let the federal government establish a new single salary structure for everyone across all sectors. peculiar allowances should then be attached to each profession/job type. in this way there wouldn't be outrageous salary differences across professions. again, specifically for the JOHESU/NMA thing, doctors shouldn't always be the ones heading medical facilities. other medical professionals ought to be allowed the opportunity too. I find it kind of interesting when I hear arguments like, 'it takes a lot to become a doctor therefore doctors MUST always be at the head of medical affairs'.......while I acknowledge that it's tasking getting a medical certificate, it must be acknowledged that studying other courses can equally be as tasking!....plus not everyone can be a doctor simply because the doctor needs the expertise of other professionals for him to be able to practise effectively and efficiently. the truth remains that the medical doctor CAN'T claim to know more than the pharmacist in the area of pharmaceutical sciences neither can he claim to know more than the laboratory scientist in the area of medical laboratory science nor the nurse in the area of nursing. acknowledging all these, then, everyone must work hand in hand as a team while respecting each other's professions rather than seeing the other person as a threat and/or as arrogant or unimportant.
Do you know their is a branch of medicine that is called clinical pharmacology??
Are you also aware there is a branch of medicine called laboratory medicine which include the three branches of pathology??
Now I agree with you that a doctor can't know it all but the public needs to know that you can have 20 doctors in a hospital and each of them specializes in 20 different fields, so when you hear that a doctor is heading the laboratory try and ask which doctor is that, definitely a surgeon or a physician can't head a laboratory, a microbiology lab is headed by a clinical or consultant medical microbiologist, this person first studied medicine for 6 years then did another 6 years of postgraduate studies on medical microbiology, so ask yourself is it wrong if such a person heads the microbiology lab

Just read your comment again, does it sound right?

Is Radiology a specialty in medicine like Opthalmology, O&G, paediatrics and so on?
If so, pharmacy should then be a specialty in medicine.

Back to your comment, if Radiologist and Radiographers are of different Unions, then something is wrong.

Supposed workers if same profession in different union.

Let me stop here.

Get your facts.
Lol see that's the problem most people are having, medicine is encompassing and it takes an open mind to understand how medicine works first before talking about this JOHESU issues.
Now on the now this is who a radiography is
the process of making radiographs, and the science of analyzing them.
While radiology is medicine) The use of radioactive substances in diagnosis and treatment.
(medicine) The use of radiation (including ionizing radiation, especially X-rays) in diagnosis, usually through the formation of images.
Now this is what JOHESU will not tell you, a radiography is one whose duty is to take the radiograph, while a radiologist is a medical doctor who interprets the radiograph and also does other things like interventionals radiology etc

Do you know the rigours pharmacist go through before being certified? Same goes to medical health records professionals who renew their certificates every year (either employed or not).

Relate with the physiotherapist, Radiologist and you will know how vital their role is in the hospital.

Don't let us mention nurses.

Being a medical doctor is by choice, just as being a medical laboratory scientist is.

Discrimination shouldn't be that obvious in a government established hospital.

Yes, doctors can earn more from call duty allowances, pharmacist also run call, virtually most of these professionals run one of either overtime, call, and so on. The difference can come from there and not salary scale.

Also if I am a Radiologist, let an experienced radiologist head my department and not a medical doctor.

I am sure if JOHESU keeps quiet as they had been, a medical doctor will head the works department ( if that hasn't been happening already).
Hope you know that there is a difference between a radiologist and a radiographer??
A radiologist is a medical first before doing another 6 years or specialization in medical imagining.
See the problem is many people don't know what medicine entails. Clinical medicine has over 14 departments that one can specialize on, now that's the problem.
Who heads a radiology department is a radiologist and he has both radiographer and radiologist under him.
Same way is a laboratory, for example in a microbiology laboratory there are medical doctors who after graduation goes further 6 years to specialize on medical microbiology, virology etc, these head the microbiology lab and has medical laboratory scientist under them.
Doctors don't head pharmacy or nursing service as JOHESU are trying to make everyone think and for those radiologist they spend minimum 13 years of study to become consultant radiologist can you compare that to a radiographer??

If you ll be truthful to yourself, In the universities what department do other students fear the most?
I used to have a medical friend in school who was always bossing around bragging about how tedious and difficult medicine is but eventually got withdrawn from the programme and in our search for a new department, i suggested she gets the change of course form for pharmacy only for her to admit that if she couldn't survive medicine is it pharmacy she will come and do? at that point she accepted the obvious. In the first place pharmacy will never accept her...It has never been done...If you can't survive medicine, pharmacy will be a more difficult place for you and this is the fact so this mentality of only drs are better educated is nothing but falsehood.
Health care is a team and joint effort. We are greater and better when we work together.
I beg to disagree, maybe it's the person in question I know people back in my class that were withdrawn from med school and went on to pharmacy and broke records.

Even Ranieri won the league with his less than £60m squad in his first season at Leicester. Guardiola did it with a £780m or so squad. My point is that Guardiola didn't "open any nyansh". Instead premier league exposed him, he's only good when he's got good/expensive players. It's not a matter of hating Guardiola or Man city because I don't, but the premier league is the true test of a coach.

Being among top 3 or top 5 is your definition of world class? SMH. LaPorte an established defender is not a world class player? Ikay Gudogan too? Many Madrid reject will make first team in premier league clubs.... Didn't Di Maria lost out his place or he wasn't a world class player? Bros please watch football and stop reading things out of context.
Calm down and think about what you just wrote, so any player who is esterblished and a regular in any team is a world class player?? Then you know nothing about football. So will you call Evans a world class player because he plays as a regular player in West Brom?? A world class player is a player that is a regular in a top team and can replace any player in his position in at least few big teams. In city there only world class player present are Agwero, Debryune, David Silva, kompany walker, Mendy can't even called a world class because he is far behind in the pecking order for world class left backs, when you talk about world class left back you talk about Marcelo, Alaba and more so tell me how many of those pep bought can replace players in Madrid or Barça or Bayern or even psg.
Can ederson replace Degea

How many average players were made stars under pep? Pep hasn't done anything spectacular in City yet for winning the premier league really because Leicester and Chelsea won it too even with a far less expensive budget. With all the money, Pep was thrashed home and away by Liverpool and you're here saying Pep is the best thing out there. Pep is already preparing for our another spending spree in the summer, Pep only get the best players and put them together not that he has worked with average players and make things work. Any small issue in the team, he will run to the transfer market. Best coach my foot.
How many of the players he bought are world best players or world class??
Was Jesus Gabriel who was just 19 years world class?? Or was sane who was 20 when he was bought world class or was Gundogan world class??, was Danilo, a Madrid reject world class or was Delph a world class player?? Was stones or LaPorte world class??
Looks like you don't understand the meaning of the word world class, for you to call a player world class meaning he is among top 3 or top5 in the world for the position that he plays and none of the players pep bought is top 3 in the world for the position they play. Was ederson top 3 keepers in the world? He wasn't even ontop 5

Best coach because he won the premier league in his second season? I wonder what you wer expecting with the huge budget and quality of players at his disposal. Conte won the league too last season with even a far lesser budget. Man city under pep is yet to live up to expectations.
Sir Alex won the epl after 6 seasons of massive spending so winning epl in his second season doesn't make him a bad coach. What we should expect is the reaction from next season

Was it not last season he bought Bernado silva and Ederson, in addy to Gundogan? what about Conte that started with players he was managing for the first time and still went ahead to win the premier league? Conte just brought in luiz, kante and alonso.
Hehehehehhehheheheh hatred has blinded you. Ederson and Bernardo was bought this season, last season Bernardo played for Monaco. now on Conte if he was so special why is he struggling to make top 4 after signing over 9 players? The thing you don't get is it's not about winning with anyhow and Through any means, that was what Conte did last season, they didn't have any European match so they concentrated on only epl hence had more resting time. And remember Conte bought luiz, Alonso last season immediately he took over Chelsea, he bought over 4 or 5 players so don't say he didn't sign any players at all

Oga, please I'm done with this discussion. The problem is that you just want to win an argument. I am in the industry. I am involved in brokering tv rights so I'm not guessing. Canal+ does not have EPL broadcast rights in Nigeria. You may save yourself from all these argument by sending them an email or a Twitter message. This will be my last response on this subject. Have a good day.
Thank you also

You still want to continue arguing. Canal+ is like Supersports. They transmit several sports events on the various Canal+ channels. They have the French league and other football events. So Canal+ can actually sell viewing rights to Nigerians for those leagues. However they cannot sell the EPL bouquet to Nigerians. It's just like when Hitv was transmitting EPL in Nigeria. It did not stop Supersports from also transmitting to Nigeria, but not the channels that show EPL i.e SS3, SS5 etc.

If I want to watch EPL on Canal+ in Nigeria, I can go to Togo or Cameroun and buy Canal decoder and pay the subscription. Then I can take the decoder to my house in Nigeria and be watching. However, the difference here is that the subscription is being paid in Togo. I can do that because it is in the privacy of my house and not for commercial consumption. I hope I have clarified.
You are the one that is getting it wrong, first you said only dstv has right to show epl in Nigeria, now you are saying epl can only be shown on SS3, SS5 But that's not true, those re exclusive channels of dstv, however canal+ has its own sports channel and they have rights to air epl directly but in French not in English. That's what you should have said, go to their website you would see they have right across Nigeria, however their subscription isn't entirely cheap

People like you never want to learn, that’s the problem. Let me break it down again. Canal+ does not have the right to broadcast EPL to Nigeria. For EPL rights, Nigeria is considered a separate entity. This was as a result of the issue that arose during the time of HiTV when the minister of communication, Francis Nweke, petitioned to Premier League requesting that Nigeria be unbundled form the sub Saharan African bouquet. Since then Nigeria is treated as a separate region. That is why you have specific Supersports channels for Nigeria different from the normal Supersports channels that are transmitted to other west African countries like Ghana etc. e.g there is SS3N, SS5N etc. The N stands for Nigeria. There is no other country in sub Saharan Africa that has the countries name attached to its Supersports channels. Hope this clarifies.

Hope you saw attached photos of the areas that canal+ covers, sometimes you may have Alot of knowledge but definitely can't know it all, canal+ specifically stated Nigeria as part of their coverage

Oga, Canal+ does not broadcast EPL in Nigeria. They have broadcast rights in French speaking west African countries. Please google is your friend. We are talking of Nigeria here and not francophone West Africa. Please note the difference.
Is Nigeria in West Africa or not?? Rights are given based on regions, what you can say is canal+ can only broadcast in French hence if you want to use it it must be in French.

We like to deceive ourselves in Nigeria.

DStv has exclusive rights to the EPL in Nigeria, no matter the partnership Tstv goes into, it cannot show the EPL in Nigeria unless that said partnership is with DStv.

That's not true, canal+ also has right to show epl in West Africa just google and find out, it's been an error that we all have been thinking that only dstv has right to air epl in West Africa region.
Go to neighboring French speaking West African countries and see they watch epl and they don't do that through dstv... Just do a few Google Search and see
