CrazyMan: I wouldn't do such. The Nigerian police lacks the professionalism and training to handle such cases.thank you! |
Freiburger: OP, that should be the duty of every living citizen.yes, i know, but do we all perform the duty, especially in Nigeria, are the citizens encouraged by our policemen to perform the said duty? This is my concern. May God help us all. |
omiobo: I can if I won't be needed for briefing.but you yourself know that you will surely be called for briefing now, except as anonymous reporter, just like mynd44 |
I reported an abusive husband once and the woman came back to tell me to mind my business. Imagine Other than that, I would and I have reported things a lot, anonymously though
your first report got me laughing, havent you heard that obey's song......."oro tokotaya, e ma dahun sii o" on a serious note, just thank your stars that all those anonymous reports of yours didnt get you in trouble. There is nothing good about gambling, its non-insurable risks. Moreover, no matter how much you win now, you must have definately lost more than the amount, or you will still loose more, if you continue, those who set it up did so, in order to make profit, they are not mumu, so, shine your eyes. "atelewo eni kii tan ni je" a word is enough for the wise. May God help us all. |
My kids are writing examinations presently, and yesterday, when i was trying to revise their notes with them, i came across the citizenship education note of one of them, with the topic"duties of a good citizen" and the first duty talked about payment of taxes, the second duty was on reporting law breakers to the law enforcement agency, i asked the boy to give me exanples of law enforcement agencies, he mentioned......the policemen, the armed forces, i also asked him to give me examples of law breakers........he said......armed robbers, hired killers, touts who fights on the streets, disturbing/troublesome neighbours,e.t.c........ I also asked, if he can report such people, if need be, he confidently answered affirmatively, (can you imagine?, a primary one pupil being taught tll that), well, at this juncture/point, i couldnt but laugh, i thought, in this Nigeria, someone to walk up to the police station with the aim of reporting a law breaker....hhhmmmmm, that person will smell weeehn. I remember in our days in school then, all of us passed through the general course...."citizenship education", but since that yesterday, i have started thinking if we have actually been performing this duty of ours, considering the type of people that are made up of our law enforcement agencies, especially the police force in this country. I cant say of other countries o, but in this our Nigeria, do people actually report law breakers to the policemen? As for me, i have never, even when im the one that is cheated, im always the "i leave it for God to judge" type, because i always have this fear that, if i report, i will have myself blamed at the end of the day, so, i always refrain from going there.......policemen, i fear them die, abeg, dem no be my friends at all. So, lets share, have you reported a law breaker to the policemen in Nigeria, if yes, how did it go, if no, can you? If need be? Thanks and may God help us all. |

Lucasbalo: Your question is right on target. I live in Chicago and I am very particular about my health. I work out vigorously and I am also a bodybuilder. I am very particular about what I eat. I thought I was doing everything right and didn't go for my checkup as scheduled. One day I got sick and my wife drove me to the hospital , I lapsed into a big sleep while the doctors were examining me for approximately 21 days. I was sick and out of work for four months and lost 60 pounds. It sure scare the living daylight out of me. Since then, I have been having my comprehensive checkup twice a year. I am very particular about my health now. It's been five years now and I am in good shape. Checkup is very important in people's lives . A lot of people in Nigeria should follow your advise to avoid untimely demise. Once again, thanks for your post.its very positive and inspiring.thank God for you, some couldnt have survived it the way you did, you were just lucky, also, thank God you did it when you did it, otherwise, it would have been another story, there are so many walking corpses on the road, basically, because they dont know anything about their health/body, and unfortunately, when terrible sickness befall them as a result of their negligence or even death, pple start saying...."he was killed", "they killed him", "the witches at work",............, blah, blah, blah,etc......,hhhmmmm. May God help us all |
Thank God for them and God bless the little ones. However, it didnt happen because they are pastors, it could have happened to any awaiting couple, regardless of their religion. So, lets just erase that mind of "being pastors. May God meet all of us at the point of our needs, |
Image123: prayer doesn't stop you from having medical check ups. God's wish is that you be in health, and check ups help you to be in health.you are right, my brother, thats the mistake a lot of people are making. |
What type of help do you really need from NLanders, maybe, if you are specific, then, we shall start from there. May God help us all. |

Ride on sir, we cant all be the same, everyone is unique in its own way, everyone has its own style and signature, and its a free world, just this last week, someone was offended with my usual slang or should i say signature.........."may God help us all"....., which almost led to the derail of a particular thread, but the truth is that, i wasnt bothered at all, if anyone found me boring or somehow, such person can just ignore my posts, afterall, im not and i will never be the only poster on this great forum, so, no qualms, you are indeed welcome, i also add my yoruba language to my posts sometimes, but not as consistent as yours, so, ride on. Apart from that, i discover that some NLander log in when they are depressed, so, your posts and some others can serve as anti-depression to them, abi, who will read your posts and not laugh, so, God place you here for certain purpose, which you yourself might not know, but, pls, try to interprete your proverbs for the sake of our non-Yoruba members, so that no one will miss the message you are trying to pass across. Thank You. May God help us all. |

It depends, dont use another person's relationship to decide/judge yours, let it be natural, some are in long dating, while some are of short dating, and it depends on various factors like readiness, finance, parental approval, interest, priorities, education, and so on. May God help us all. |
van bonattel: I think you are wrong, same room in a quarel is a catalyst for trouble, one partner can detest the other so much that he/she packs their bag and walks out than the thoughts of sleeping on the same bed with the person who brought you so much pain.each to his or her own, no two marriages are the same, if you think that is how you want it and you also think that is how its going to work for you, then good, go ahead, but dont say, you are not told o. May God help us all. |
@op, pls, no offence meant, pls, i just want to ask a simple question...................where did you see yourself in this revelation........hell or heaven? Thanks. |
It's been too long. I usually only go to the emergency room once every couple years too. Maybe it's time I make an appointment, but I'm relatively young (early 20's) and don't worry about health problems. In fact neither of my parents have any problems either. And they get annual checkups. [does heredity affect your decision to have checkups?
no! Its a personal decision! |
byvan: Some women's attitude to life is baffling and this is a supposed graduate.imagine! |
ayobase: For some, its fear of the unknown!we have not received the spirit of fear, but of sound mind............says the word of God. yes! Thats the spirit, it make one to know what and what is exactly going on in one's body, and of course, how one can deal with it, if any. You know one thing, its God that bless us with these people, the same way we are a blessing to others in our different profession, and of course, it will be synonymous to suicide attempt, if we just take our heath for granted, which God will not be happy with, i guess. May God help us all |
