Guve it to the boys. They deserve to be applauded for the good football played tonight. Lets just hope they keep up with form. Good to see classic Kanu on display (even if he is 80 years old, as claimed by some) he still delivered tonight. |
The name Las Giddiz has been around a loooong time. First time I heard it should be around late eighties! I asked this same question round about that time and got the answer; Las Giddiz = Laz Vegas. period. "Funkification" of the name Lagos, especially by none Lagos residents at that time, who considered the place both mystic and notorious. |
Rare good news concerning a Nigerian in Diaspora. Keep it up bros. |

This thing, outrageous as it might sound, but unfortunately or fortunately for some, it is REAL. Check it out for yourself www.lifegem.com |
There's a new fad being promoted by a company called Lifegem Company, specializing in making cremation diamonds, yes they take the carbon from your dead loved ones ashes and press it into a sparkly lab diamond for you (in a variety of colors). Now your dead relative can be with you always, not just in your heart, but on your finger or perhaps in a snazzy pendant. Wouldn't you love to keep your loved ones with you for ever, like Diamonds? |
Yes, circumstances could make the Woman the one feeding the family. But it is something a man should never wish upon himself, or his enemy for that matter. The truth is, no matter how much your wife loves you and no matter how humble she is, that elation of being the ad hoc Head-of-the-Family (that is what you are when you provide the dough!) will not elude her and will eventually erode her usual sense of modesty if she stays in that role for not too long. When a man is temporary off that role, make it real TEMPORARY ![]() |
sjeezy8 made logical sense. How could the Portuguese have invented pidgin English, when they probably couldn't even speak English themselves. The natural thing would have been for them to have tried speaking pidgin Portuguese to the locals. Unless of course the English language was already well established among the locals before the arrival of the Portuguese. @ topic, I DON'T KNOW & CAN'T GUESS ![]() |
As a matter of fact, they are not always scammers. I told my younger sister who just finished service in February never to pay any agency for job when she sought my advice on a similar issue. On second thought I told her to follow her mind, since the money in question wasn't much ( I forget how much now), but they prove me wrong. She got invited for training and now "works" for a well known insurance agency. Now, this is not an open endorsement of all such money-for-hand recruitment agencies, be wary, don't let anybody forwanine you. I'll get the name of the agency in question an post it here. (on second thoughts, no, I wont. Maybe my sister was just lucky) |
I'll never forget the time I saw a kangaroo rat- the thing was jumping exactly like a kangaroo. My friends and I used to scream and jump on the bed whenever this hopping masquerade rat made an appearance. I think say na only Australia leaping mammals dey live!Jumping rats What the heck!!! That must be scary, and I am not usually easily scared. |
@ spicy007 Your analysis is so clear and in depth it makes a lot of sense. I'll add it to my repertoire. Thanx. |
brain and beauty. rare combination. |
Bad belle people. At least Nigeria has an Air force that do employ people. There are many other countries that don't have any form of air force. |
cost of paper = (qty in ream) 500 / (cost of ream) 450 = 1.1 cost of toner impression = (cost of toner) 12,000 / (qty printable with toner) 15,000 = 1.25 over head absorbed @ 5 % of actual cost = 5% of 1.1 + 1.25 = 0.1 actual cost of producing the letter = (sum of all above) 1.1 + 1.25 + 0.1 = 2.45! TWO NAIRA FORTY FIVE KOBO is the actual cost of that bleeding letter. |
This is probably one of the best threads I've seen on NL. I've actually had to copy out some of the suggestions made here for further deliberations and careful implementation. I do not have a good saving habit at allllll. I recognise this and have struggled to change, with very little success. A recommendation on this thread that reverberates is the strategy of saving into an inaccessible account, this I tried late last year, I got up to about 450K (naira), then I found out I could EASILY do fund transfer from the account via the net and VIOLA, used everything within 5 weeks! ![]() Now I've started again, in this new account, 20% of my salary goes in. No ATM card, No cheque book, No internet banking. I wonder how far I can go ![]() |
when you base all your arguments on ''I WAS'NT TOLD'', ''I WAS'NT TOLD'', someone can easily come from ''YOU DIDN'T ASK, ''YOU DIDNT ASK''I just have to say my piece on this. The issue raised by the poster was very clear, at least to some of us; 1. He had previously enjoyed a similar service without any charge 2. He was informed up font about the charges for the statement request The question is; why would the bank staff be selective about the information to give? This is more than mischief, it is daylight robbery! |
Ohafia in Nigeria |
@ poster You have been given so many wonderful advices on this thread (and some not so intelligent ones too) that I feel all have already been said. You even had the privilege of Rehana2 sharing a real life, similar-scenario, experience with you. All that's left is for you take the manly step and do the manly thing:confront your issues, don't run away from them. Run once and you might end up running forever because the specie called Perfect Wife has not yet been discovered, |
Can someone state exactly what the law syas regarding this issue. I think it prohibits manhandling of the naira vis trampling on it, crumpling it etc. I do not think that is the case here (from the pics) |
starch and stew never eaten it and never will |
if the mountain doesn't go to Mohammed, let Mohammed go to the mountain- call them. |
I am not one to castigate Men of God- being a good christian. But I must say this story does more harm than good for the revered Pastor Adeboye, it has Damage Control written all over it. Coming out now to say the plane was bought by members of his church under the stated business plan leaves room for too much speculation. I would have preferred the pastor maintained his Golden Silence on the issue, and like all controversies in Nigeria it would have simply died a natural death in a matter of weeks - leaving his integrity Kanpe!. |
"Mr. Wendal" by Arrested Development |
@ topic. Which Nigerian man can throw the first stone? At one point or the other you find these people wont leave u alone, especially if you're a bit comfortable. Am not advocating for infidelity, but if you must: 1. Don't get caught 2. Be protected 3. Love your wife above all else Now if you studiously observe rule 2 then u should be able to take any test, any time ![]() |
Fashola and Yaradua should change office. The guy is just too good.Supported, but I'll vote to have him demoted to be Chairman of some obscure Local Government as soon as he steps into the governor's office ![]() |
Too amazing to be true |
Slavery in the workplace is for those who have chosen to remain slaves. Pt out, become an employer of labour and you can be the slave master. Kaprish! Easier said than done? |
Naira is 125 to the dollar, and thats official. |
No big deal, men eye other women ALL the time. |
On the other hand if you're thinking about love and all it entails you can go for "Kama Sutra" written by Vatsyayana, interesting read and nice pics too ![]() |
