Here we go again with our collective streak of frightening amnesia. Those rooting for Ojo seem to have forgotten that its this same guy that would have us all ride on Bicycles only when he was Minister of Transport. He myopically inferred to Japan & China as bike riding nations while conveniently ignoring the fact Nigerian roads are not like those of the mentioned countries. To prove his stupid point, Ojo Madueke tried riding a bike to his office, and he fell and broke his leg! Those are the kind of visions his presidency will try to implement. President ko. |
At the risk of repeating what someone might have posted already; I really do not see what the big deal is about keeping house helps. Its not all of them that are maltreated or otherwise unfairly treated, just like its not all that do 9 to 5 that are fairly treated. Its all about who is keeping the help and the source / recruitment agent. If someone sends their daughter to work in my house in this capacity, for lack of the wherewithal of taking care of her (which is often the case), I do not see anything wrong in me taking care of her financial needs (paying wages), while she renders a service by doing the house chores. It is normal contractual agreement between an employer and an employee, with the added benefits of free lodging and meals! |
The so called militancy in the Niger Delta has really gone awry. Those guys are Murderers, plain and simple! |
I really do think I need to improve on this. Hope this is better.

@ Kemjisuper I wonder why you cant, I can see it on my system. May be you need a reboot. |
I 've been on NL since January this year, I've been visiting the forum every other day since and only just realized there's a graphics section. Interesting. I've seen some really nice works here and some not-so-nice. I've not done logos in a looooong time, I usually get people to do them for me, but i guess I'll give it a go, if not for the fun of it, then for the Dough in it ![]()

Who cares. He's not been so good for Nigeria, maybe he'll be better for England |
Nice comedy if you ask me, a refreshing presentation of a rather pedestrian and over flogged storyline. Technical quality? unnhngh ![]() |
stupid pageant! so people who got raped or lost their virginity are not worthy of the crown heh?, so people who were involved in car wrecks and got their faces deformed are not worthy of the MBGN crown? Yes, its a pity, but No, they not! |
The article says the girls contested in a Virginity Pageant and not a Beauty Pageant. I think it's a distraction alluding to them not being beautiful in any case beauty in itself is so so subjective. So who can prove beyond any reasonable doubt that the girls are not beautiful From my perspective, as one poster had already noted to some extent, the focus of the pageant is in the message: SEXUAL VIRTUE IS COMMENDABLE. |
Very serious allegations indeed. But tubby-tubby, you've been made, too much personal details you left for trail. FA is coming after you, watch out ![]() |
My advice. Never marry in a rush!!! If he loves you that much he can wait another couple of months so you can come to terms with your REAL emotions about him. Age? nah, no big deal, count yourself lucky, after all Nasfirs' Governor hubby is 31 years older than her ![]() |
I think I am more interested in the sexiest actress ![]() |
More often than not, when I read posts in NL, I wonder what kind of human minds concoct the responses posted herein. One would ordinarily think that members of the forum would be in the age bracket referred to as "the future of the nation". Now, if the heavily primordial tribalistic reactions posted here are a true reflection of what to expect from our presumably enlightened youth, then the future is really bleak for the nation. Of a truth, to get reactions to one's threads on NL, all you need do is colour it with tribalism and you'll get legions of posts in reply, most of them myopic and utterly silly. ![]() |
as for me i have been in the uk for a yr and i speak igbo and yoruba well, in the bus, train and on the street. no one tells me its rude, only when u shout so loud, after all there are so many pple here in the uk that dont speak English, pls SUE if they say such a thing to u or call me and i will get u a lwayerTell them joo. I dont' live in the UK, but I visit so often and I couldn't help but notice how you get these funny glances from people when you speak anything thats not english. I used to feel slightly embarrassed but have come to overcome that, now I speak louder when I know anyone is uncomfortable with my Igbo or Yoruba. After all they too have all those funny Northern UK (English) dialects they speak when they don't want you to listen in on their conversation. its so common with those guys in Birmingham. Bone them! |
kehidebad, I totally agree with your point. That police woman could actually be performing a legal duty. Yes there're lots of bad eggs in the force, but there still are some few good ones. If you've ever been saved by policemen on patrol from imminent robbery in the dead of night, you will learn to appreciate the Nigerian police every now and then, I've been there, the police were like God-sent angels, all clad in shimmering white complete with glowing halo on their foreheads, If you were in my shoes, you would see them in that same light on this day in question. |
My friend, don't be fooled by those nice pictures your friends email to you, pics of them standing in nice winter coats on the nice streets of Europe. Things are tough for over 95% of naija peeps over there, they're just managing! Europe is a place to visit ONLY, visit and go back to the real life. Sit up and make your money here in Naija, then Europe will lure you to come visit. Go, holiday, gallivant, club, shop and enjoy the beautiful cityscape but leave immediately. A word is enough for the wise. |
Do not despise little beginnings. Yes CCTV is not a new technology, but at least Naija has now recognised its role in crime detection. We will get there. |
Husband material = as cool as me Wife material = as stunning as my mother |
I wonder why the governor would simply adduce the violence to the "illegitimate characters of sullied background and upbringing" - the Action Congress, just like that. That is the bane of politics in Africa. The incumbent always finds it convenient to blame every ill in the society on the opposition, an attempt at distracting people from the crux of the matter. Its a shame. |
someone is surely looking for freebies. PH girls beware!!!!! |
We all make these New Year resolutions with all piety and sometimes with genuine seriousness just at the end of every new year. I'll quit smoking, I'll quit drunk driving, I'll quit having dreams about that girl down the road, I'll be closer to God, blah blah blah. Easier said than done. How far have you being faithful to these noble declaration? |
Rock is not a popular genre in Naija- you cant simply walk into a store and buy it. But I do manage to get my supply. Right from the eighties Aerosmith and Bon Jovi to the 00's Nickelback and Linkin Park, I love them all. Count me out of those gloomy ominous "Lamb of God" stuff though. |
sistawoman, your "No Lies" understanding with your man is so idealistic I wonder if its practicable. Its good to tell what you're asked, but how about what you're not asked. For instance, if your hubby only met you last year as a chorister in the church choir and fell in love and proposed, would you poison the relationship by confessing to him that you were in the "escort" services in far away Italy so many years ago? |
Secondly,it could be as a result of lack of true love and betrayals in the society, people just take love where they find it,but it still doesn't explain the physical attractions. What a shallow excuse for the abominable act of being gay.javascript:void(0); In my world, being gay IS being demonic, pervert, unbalanced, unnatural. God bless the pregnant daughter, any day. |
