In 2018, I move to a new place, a married woman with children started and always comes to meet me to give her whatever she wants from me which I always do. One day, the husband came to me with anger, and told me to stay away from his wife. I said, OK.

Even If i use common sense - helping people I know has landed me in too many conflicts, they are just too over many for me to overlook anymore.

Because of the many years of constant betrayals that lead me to regret my life, I move to a new town and decide to start afresh. In the past I have shown too much financial care and love for women that backfire and work against me. so I decide to stay focus on myself for the first time of my life.

After living in this new place for about six months, a pregnant woman who also live in the same visinity ask me to help her. She told me to lend her some money.

She told me that, she had not eaten since morning and she wants to cook something to eat and her hubby is out of town and will be back later.

She told me she will refund me when her hubby comes back. She was pregnant, hungry and need help.

I badly wanted to but I instantly had many flash back and I told her, I don't have the money right now. I told her, why can't you go and meet that your fellow business woman down there? she may be able to help you, she replied me with God forbid.

The money she asked me, I have it in my base, three times over but I refuse to give her. I painfully refused to help her because nigeria society has made me look like a fool.

To save my peace - I just have to only help strangers and not give help to the people I know

1. Facebook Marketplace
This is the best for now. Items are straight from direct users and you can leverage on the fact that its umbiquiotus and can be assessed from any geographical location. Another plus to this platform is virtually all of us are familiar with Facebook...we are only going a step higher than being a conventional social media platform to business. Facebook marketplace does not need too technical tweaks to achieve what we want to achieve. This marketplace is appropriate for Phones and Laptops.

2. Craigslist
Craigslist is an 'ancient' platform that has served millions of people. It is one of the pioneer classifed marketplaces on the internet, in fact others that came after it are now defunct..talk of Backpage, Kijiji etc. The 'laggards' permit my language find this platform easy to use and you will notice that there has been little or now innovation on the UI. It is geotargeted too and you can restrict search for items to certain areas. Craigslist is suitable for heavy items like printers, vehicles etc...you can get phones and laptops or other high selling products on it too.

Hello Nairalanders. I got married late last year.
Even though I got married late, I made sure I was gainfully employed before taking the giant stride.

I love my wife and she loves me too. I carry 98 % of the home responsibility, recently, because things are on the high side and my wife is working as well, I told her to be taking care of filling the gas while I handle other bills.
I have observed that anytime I go near the gas maybe to make food or boil water, she will remind how expensive gas is right now, after all, if it finishes, I won't give money to fill. These words hurt me alot as this is the only thing you do for us in this house. I know how much I pay for rent, DSTV etc with other utility bills.

My thoughts now are;
How do men which their wives are feeding them cope with insults and embarrassments that come with every meal?

How do unemployed/underemployed men cope?
