S’ East, North move against S’West over PDP chairmanship
By Akinwumi Rotimi, Abuja, Onoja Audu, Jos, Patience Ogbodo, Bauchi, Ben Duru, Umuhahia, and Baba Negedu, Kaduna

The move by leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West to ensure that the zone gets the seat of the National Chairman of the party is being opposed by their contemporaries in the South East and Northern part of the country.

After the South West lost the seat of the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives to the North West, chieftains of the PDP in the region have been frantic in their effort to convince the party to compensate the zone with the chairmanship of the party which the South East and North East members of the party were lobbying for before the election of the principal officers of National Assembly.

Speaking in Abuja, National Vice Chairman, North East of the PDP, Paul Wampana, declared that the post won’t go to the South West zone no matter what.

He said that the zone should stop agitating for the slot.

According to him, the South West only voted for the PDP presidential candidate, Goodluck Jonathan and should look up to him, not the party for compensation.

“Everybody knows in this country that the South West didn’t vote PDP, but for the President. Please, they must be given the credit for voting for the President”.

Meanwhile, former special adviser to Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda on political affairs, Hon Abdumumuni Kundak, has declared that any attempt to deny the North East region the office will compromise the zoning arrangement of the party.

Kundak who stated this in an exclusive interview with Saturday Independent in Bauchi frowned at any attempt to zone the national chairman of PDP to another zone be it South West or any other region saying “if such happened that means that we are not being treated well because the office is supposed to come to the North East.

“I want to call on the leadership of PDP to follow the zoning system strictly and treat us with fairness and honesty by zoning the office to North East because we are due for it,” he stated.

In the same manner, a chieftain of PDP in Abia State, Chukwu Nwachukwu, described attempts to hand over the leadership of the party to the South West as akin to rewarding failure and lack of productivity.

Nwachukwu, a governorship aspirant in 2007 insisted that since the North West has taken the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives; it was only natural that the national chairman position be zoned to the South East.

He said that the South West zone has nothing to show for their stewardship in the last April general elections, noting that the PDP lost all the position. The PDP chief insisted that the South East performed excellently during the 2011 general elections to the extent that the presidential election recorded not less than 98 percent and majority of the National and State Assembly seats and the governorship were retained by the party.

Kaduna State PDP said it will not just fold its hand and allow the South West to grab the position of the national chairman as the zone is also happy to keep the post.

The state’s Public Relation Officer, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu Wusono, said it is a position the North will like to retain since the zone is already there through the acting capacity of the Bello Haliru Mohammed.

“But as loyal party people, we are ready to abide by whatever the national level decide, if the party decides to zone the position to the South West we will accept it. But one thing I can say is that the party will not stop anyone from contesting any position,” he said.

Well lets see? so long as it would not be another military extra judicial killing. As it stands now unlike the South south,Too much push can give extremist group more recruits and justification.Force and dialogue must be balanced some how. Restore some kinda of normalcy to allow room for dialogue. In every group there are different views. The die hards shall be met with force and the subtle ones systematically discourage either via dialogue or show of force. At the end, problem is you will always have the die hards.
Only time can tell which way. cry cry cry cry cry cry
The government to me is helpless. When there counter parts across the would were becoming sophisticated the Nigeria security out fits were getting use to stealing public funds made for security. While other international security made friends with the population in case of information, ours brutalized and distance such relationship.Showing only regards for themselves and the rich/influential.
They want to face Boko haram?how, with Poor intelligence from the populace, poor training of personal, poor welfare(easily compromise),disharmony(sympathy for my own),Poor prosecution mechanism in court, lack of adaption to local scenario(can't blend in and use there heads) etc.
You see what they will likely do if they get there as usual show face and arrive after every attack.Once in a while also attack the helpless and innocent, claiming to show themselves. After much where is Boko haram? Same Guerrilla war strategy like the ND.The only way out for them can not be achieved through direct confrontation only dialogue(don't get me wrong ,not everything is about money and not everything they say can be achieved).Guerila fighting-Same thing with ND militants.Militants at night and law abiding civilians during the day.ND also know there turf well unlike our army. They were masters of the creeks. So the same thing applies to boko haram.Possibility of them moving across alot of Northern states and neighboring countries. The vast desert countries and poor security of such countries.only surfacing when they need too.
For boko haram unlike the ND militants who would attach priority to oil fields, some banks, persons of interest and security personals guarding oil facilities. The Boko haram see the security agents as there targets. So it means more soldiers, more casualties on both sides, civilian and army.

Business › Re: Anglican Bishops Kick Against Proposed Islamic Bank by hakanai(m): 11:17am On Jun 15, 2011
Modern Islamic banking

Interest-free banking seems to be of very recent origin. The earliest references to the reorganisation of banking on the basis of profit sharing rather than interest are found in Anwar Qureshi (1946), Naiem Siddiqi (1948) and Mahmud Ahmad (1952) in the late forties, followed by a more elaborate exposition by Mawdudi in 1950.[citation needed] The writings of Muhammad Hamidullah 1944, 1955, 1957 and 1962 should be included in this category.[citation needed] They have all recognised the need for commercial banks and their perceived "necessary evil," have proposed a banking system based on the concept of Mudarabha - profit and loss sharing.[citation needed]

In the next two decades interest-free banking attracted more attention, partly because of the political interest it created in Pakistan and partly because of the emergence of young Muslim economists. Works specifically devoted to this subject began to appear in this period. The first such work is that of Muhammad Uzair (1955).[citation needed] Another set of works emerged in the late sixties and early seventies. Abdullah al-Araby (1967), Nejatullah Siddiqi (1961, 1969), al-Najjar (1971) and Baqir al-Sadr (1961, 1974) were the main contributors.[citation needed]

The early 1970s saw institutional involvement. The Conference of the Finance Ministers of the Islamic Countries held in Karachi in 1970, the Egyptian study in 1972, the First International Conference on Islamic Economics in Mecca in 1976, and the International Economic Conference in London in 1977 were the result of such involvement. The involvement of institutions and governments led to the application of theory to practice and resulted in the establishment of the first interest-free banks. The Islamic Development Bank, an inter-governmental bank established in 1975, was born of this process.[11]

The first modern experiment with Islamic banking was undertaken in Egypt under cover without projecting an Islamic image—for fear of being seen as a manifestation of Islamic fundamentalism that was anathema to the political regime.[citation needed] The pioneering effort, led by Ahmad Elnaggar, took the form of a savings bank based on profit-sharing in the Egyptian town of Mit Ghamr in 1963. This experiment lasted until 1967 (Ready 1981), by which time there were nine such banks in country.[12]
Wiki letter w cropped.svg This section requires expansion.

In 1972, the Mit Ghamr Savings project became part of Nasr Social Bank which, currently, is still in business in Egypt. In 1975, the Islamic Development Bank was set up with the mission to provide funding to projects in the member countries.[13] The first modern commercial Islamic bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, opened its doors in 1975. In the early years, the products offered were basic and strongly founded on conventional banking products, but in the last few years the industry is starting to see strong development in new products and services.

Islamic Banking is growing at a rate of 10-15% per year and with signs of consistent future growth.[14] Islamic banks have more than 300 institutions spread over 51 countries, including the United States through companies such as the Michigan-based University Bank, as well as an additional 250 mutual funds that comply with Islamic principles. It is estimated that over US$822 billion worldwide sharia-compliant assets are managed according to The Economist.[15] This represents approximately 0.5% of total world estimated assets as of 2005.[16] According to CIMB Group Holdings, Islamic finance is the fastest-growing segment of the global financial system and sales of Islamic bonds may rise by 24 percent to $25 billion in 2010.[17]

The[b] Vatican has put forward the idea that "the principles of Islamic finance may represent a possible cure for ailing markets."[/b][18]

So why the bad bell after even the vatican sees progress in it.Is this not-so-smart priest just another misguided bigothuh?? undecided undecided undecided undecided
We want it and you can not deny us our rights to the system since it does not in anyway force you or insist on anything you choose not do.Lastly stop shouting about being financed by CBN.
Even Soludo gave them same conditions with other banks.25B deposit so its another bank period with its own unique services. What some xtian zealots like or want ,is in any case if it satisfy us okay. While if it satisfy the Muslims no!What do you think the present banks do?They are not Islamic compliant but obviously meet more xtian needs with disregard for Muslims. This country can divide abeg! if need be who cares. But we have a right to practice and do what is right so long as it is legal. This is obviously Legal.
look at Nigeria today alot of things term as secular mostly just meet xtian standard and If not xtians would prefer it is just pagan.Whilst the Muslims can not have any input that can be adopted for the sake of Muslims.
Today Arabic inscription in the army and currency scrapped, while we still keep cross logs to depict Health and english to replace arabic language prefered by muslims. The Islamic logo for health is crescent!Even the calender in Nigeria called secular recognizes the every xtian celebration and exclude some Muslim festive days eg the the Islamic New year! All in the name of fake secular!!! what is secular should have being my culture and your culture fused together at the national level or states. angry We adopt all secular norms from only xtian nations why?
Like it or not it has come to stay.Fire Sanusi,we shall still demand it from the FG until we have it!!!!! Bishop or pastor or what ever can not stop it!!!!

Politics › Russia Says Imf Chief Jailed For Discovering All Us Gold Is Gone by hakanai(op): 11:00am On Jun 15, 2011
Russia Says IMF Chief Jailed For Discovering All US Gold Is Gone

A new report prepared for Prime Minister Putin by the Federal Security Service (FSB) says that former International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was charged and jailed in the US for sex crimes on May 14th after his discovery that all of the gold held in the United States Bullion Depository located at Fort Knox was ‘missing and/or unaccounted’ for.

According to this FSB secret report, Strauss-Kahn had become “increasingly concerned” earlier this month after the United States began “stalling” its pledged delivery to the IMF of 191.3 tons of gold agreed to under the Second Amendment of the Articles of Agreement signed by the Executive Board in April 1978 that were to be sold to fund what are called Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) as an alternative to what are called reserve currencies.

This FSB report further states that upon Strauss-Kahn raising his concerns with American government officials close to President Obama he was ‘contacted’ by ‘rogue elements’within the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) who provided him ‘firm evidence’ that all of the gold reported to be held by the US ‘was gone’.

Upon Strauss-Kahn receiving the CIA evidence, this report continues, he made immediate arrangements to leave the US for Paris, but when contacted by agents working forFrance’s General Directorate for External Security (DGSE) that American authorities were seeking his capture he fled to New York City’s JFK airport following these agents directive not to take his cell-phone because US police could track his exact location.

Once Strauss-Kahn was safely boarded on an Air France flight to Paris, however, this FSB report says he made a ‘fatal mistake’ by calling the hotel from a phone on the plane and asking them to forwarded the cell-phone he had been told to leave behind to his French residence, after which US agents were able to track and apprehend him.

Within the past fortnight, this report continues, Strauss-Kahn reached out to his close friend and top Egyptian banker Mahmoud Abdel Salam Omar to retrieve from the US the evidence given to him by the CIA. Omar, however, and exactly like Strauss-Kahn before him, was charged yesterday by the US with a sex crime against a luxury hotel maid, a charge the FSB labels as ‘beyond belief’ due to Omar being 74-years-old and a devout Muslim.

In an astounding move puzzling many in Moscow, Putin after reading this secret FSB report today ordered posted to the Kremlin’s official website a defense of Strauss-Khan becoming the first world leader to state that the former IMF chief was a victim of a US conspiracy. Putin further stated, “It’s hard for me to evaluate the hidden political motives but I cannot believe that it looks the way it was initially introduced. It doesn’t sit right in my head.”

Interesting to note about all of these events is that one of the United States top Congressman, and 2012 Presidential candidate, Ron Paul [photo bottom left] has long stated his belief that the US government has lied about its gold reserves held at Fort Knox.  So concerned had Congressman Paul become about the US government and the Federal Reservehiding the truth about American gold reserves he put forward a bill in late 2010 to force an audit of them, but which was subsequently defeated by Obama regime forces.

When directly asked by reporters if he believed there was no gold in Fort Knox or the Federal Reserve, Congressman Paul gave the incredible reply, “I think it is a possibility.”

Also interesting to note is that barely 3 days after the arrest of Strauss-Kahn, Congressman Paul made a new call for the US to sell its gold reserves by stating, “Given the high price it is now, and the tremendous debt problem we now have, by all means, sell at the peak.”

Bizarre reports emanating from the US for years, however, suggest there is no gold to sell, and as we can read as posted in 2009 on the ViewZone.Com news site:

“In October of 2009 the Chinese received a shipment of gold bars. Gold is regularly exchanges between countries to pay debts and to settle the so-called balance of trade. Most gold is exchanged and stored in vaults under the supervision of a special organization based in London, the London Bullion Market Association (or LBMA). When the shipment was received, the Chinese government asked that special tests be performed to guarantee the purity and weight of the gold bars. In this test, four small holed are drilled into the gold bars and the metal is then analyzed.

Officials were shocked to learn that the bars were fake. They contained cores of tungsten with only a outer coating of real gold. What’s more, these gold bars, containing serial numbers for tracking, originated in the US and had been stored in Fort Knox for years. There were reportedly between 5,600 to 5,700 bars, weighing 400 oz. each, in the shipment!”

To the final fate of Strauss-Kahn it is not in our knowing, but new reports coming from the United States show his determination not to go down without a fight as he has hired what is described as a ‘crack team’ of former CIA spies, private investigators and media advisers to defend him.

To the practical effects on the global economy should it be proved that the US, indeed, has been lying about its gold reserves, Russia’s Central Bank yesterday ordered the interest rate raised from 0.25 to 3.5 percent and Putin ordered the export ban on wheat and grain crops lifted by July 1st in a move designed to fill the Motherlands coffers with money that normally would have flowed to the US.

The American peoples ability to know the truth of these things, and as always, has been shouted out by their propaganda media organs leaving them in danger of not being prepared for the horrific economic collapse of their nation now believed will much sooner than later.

When even European Universities allow same and alot of students are exposed to the system in modern universities.inshort what is Islamic bank?It entails nothing more than just another bank. With her own ways of banking. If it doesn't suit you, just walk to the numerous existing banks that will make you happy.
Its not a most to use such bank and it is a matter of choice.Since you have mosque and churches. Then i believe this is just a normal thing. If you can go to church without asking for anyone to close the numerous mosque around.then this is non of your business.Stick to the banking/Banks that suit you than stand here and try to deprive others who may like it.

Emergence of Tambuwal as Speaker, a Hausa/Fulani agenda – Fasehun
On June 11, 2011 · In News

By ABDULWAHAB ABDULAH
President, Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, Dr Frederick Fasehun has said the emergence of Hon. Aminu Tambuwal as the new Speaker, House of Representatives was a dangerous development and a slap on Yoruba race.

He noted that the emergence of Tambuwal as the Speaker of the lower House now placed the nation’s governance and leadership of the legislative arm in the hands of a region of the country.

Speaking at a press congress organized by the group to register their discomfort over the development, Dr Fasehun lamented that the step taken by Tambuwal and those who teamed up with him was deliberately planned to scheme out the people of the South West from taking a shot in the ongoing dispensation.

Fasehun, noted that the new Speaker, executed “a malevolent plot, deliberately designed to shortchange the South-West which sailed through and Hon. Aminu Tambuwal from Sokoto State emerged as Speaker.

That places Nigeria’s bicameral legislature firmly under the control of one part of the country. As a result, the North now controls the posts of the Vice President, Senate President and House of Representatives and that is: Number Two, Number Three and Number Four positions in the country’s hierarchy.

“This is very dangerous. It will be the first time such a configuration is imposed on the country. In 1999 when someone from the South-West reigned as President and a Northerner was Vice President, the East controlled the Senate while the North headed the House of Representatives. This guaranteed the equitable balancing of the power equation amongst Nigeria’s geo-political entities.”

He called on the people of the region to be weary of the new political development  saying, “this era of vicious marginalization must be converted into the South-West’s finest hour.

An evil has been perpetrated against the race by this marginalization, no doubt. But rather than fold up and wither away with resentment, our people should synthesise some good out of this episode, seizing it as a golden opportunity for Yoruba Renaissance.

“This is our chance to actualize the true Federalism we have always prayed and clamoured for.
