Not enough amount of cement mixed with the Screeding Paint , which makes the solution watery. Solution has to be well mixed & thick before applying on the wall, wall has to be Properly scraped & sandpaper if necessary before applying Screeding solution. For better Results....

Black Cement Screeding is Stronger, while POP cement Screeding is finer....

Black Cement Screeding is also a bit cheaper than POP cement Screeding.

Always Make sure you employ good Screeders & Try not to Manage Materials for Screeding.

I always use one strategy in property investment, and it's to KEEP BUILDING, as long as you have the money at hand, keep building.

Build through the high prices, build through the low prices and even though the average prices, in the end, you will achieve a cost lower than what you will spend if you had waited. Delay is dangerous in Nigeria.

The way the economy of this country is going, there might never be a substantial crash of prices of goods or services because of the type of economy we run.

To be honest, some of these things are not that so very much expensive. Just source and buy wisely. One needs the purpose of mind to invest in one's business and grow the business. Any meaningful POP business should have a multi purpose ladder/scaffold.

Nigerian workmen and women are notorious in not investing back into their businesses. So you meet a relatively successful POP installer, for years, they are still at the same rudimentary level. Little growth. Not a single tool or equipment of the trade own.

But I must say, people like @Next dey try small sha, despite it all. If you are a tradesperson, there is nothing like investing in ancillary trade equipment. If you have a job or quoting for a job, you give your client options to hire at a competitive rate from you or they provide or quote at a certain rate per sqm and offer scaffold "free". And you can also do equipment hire as another channel of income when things dry with POP.

No be only one road enter market.

The only way to avoid such mess, is the option of Plaster Ready made Boards.


Although I wouldn't advice you to use that, cause it's expensive, & POP is definitely stronger than it.

Advantages of POP

It is light in weight and more durable.
It has low thermal conductivity.
It is very good fire resistant and hence a very good heat insulating material.
It does not shrink while setting. Therefore, it does not develop cracks on heating or setting unlike the polystyrene / Plaster boards.
It forms a thick surface to resist normal knocks after drying.
It mixes up easily with water and is easy to spread and level.
It has good adhesion on fibrous materials.
It gives a firm surface on which the colours can settle.
It has no appreciable chemical action on paint and does not cause alkali attack.
Plaster of Paris gives a decorative interior finish. Its gypsum content provides it a lot of shine and smoothness.
It can easily be moulded into any shape.

For the life of me, I didn't know vegetable oil and bar soap are used in POP. What are they used for? Or is the materials not for a POP work?

The Soap & oil: they're mixed together to help the casting Process.

Casting: is the process of creating Pop boards using fillers & water.

The mixture of soap & oil: is poured on the casting board/glass for easy removal of the casted pop when it dries off.
