chemgee: These tiles at my uncle's place are almost 10 years old. The white lines in-between them ain't cool with us the younger Gens, but him & older Gens no send. He said we can do what we want tho.
So experienced gentle men, can anything be done to make those white lines become black? (Replacing the tiles ain't an option)
Thanks Been thinking of the advice I can give this OP! (Perhaps something like an oil paint? ) E no make buh i can't seem to figure out something. BrabusNG: I’ll buy some tiles tomorrow or next and install on unrendered wall using supafix.
Let’s test the power of the tiles adhesive. Brabus have you done this? Please when you do, don't forget to share with us Awa Learners |

BrabusNG: Unfortunately, there’s nothing that you, I or the government can do about this.
Can you buy electrical cable at N9,000 and sell at N8,500? It’s impossible! The same way with cement right now.
______
My suggestion is that we should start exploring alternative to cement in Nigeria. The owner of the project next to my ongoing build is planning to use Supafix after I introduced it to him last week.
I’ll be doing some demos in the coming days.
A nairalander (whom I don’t know) ordered some quantities from me in January. I really wish he could give his feedback on the product.
It’s cheaper and better than OPC. A good way to explore is to do comparative costing between OPC and the supafix in smaller rooms.
Oyinbo man don’t use cement for their floors na Wow! Please can you share Pictures of the supafix! |

Good Afternoon Everyone! Some insight on Wooden Floor. The choice of flooring is one of the most basic yet important decisions a homeowner has to make when Building a home/undertaking a renovation, as it underpins everything else. While there are plenty of different options, from carpet , , tiles to terrazzo (Oga Diordaves would prefer terrazzo ) , Wooden Floor: Real wooden Floor is made of solid wood throughout its thickness. Pros one major Advantage is that it can be refinished many times over the course of its lifespan Quality that is ageless. Good Maintenance Plan ConsIt's Expensive, it's Susceptible to termite Attack. Avoid too much water contact. Engineered wooden Floor : the difference from RWF. is that EWF is constructed on both layers of solid wood & plywood/HDF. Engineered wood features a thin veneer top layer of solid wood. The natural top layer makes engineered wood just as durable as traditional hardwood and provides the same classic, timeless look. Then there’s the core of the plank, typically made from layers of plywood or high-density fiberboard (HDF). Pros •It's Stylish. •It's Moisture Resistance than Real Wood •Greater Stability Cons•Susceptible to Dent & Scratches •Expensive •can fade if exposed to Sun or UV light ||| Vinyl Flooring (LVT , LVP, SPC ,SVP) As we Already Know Vinyl is printed with the pattern & color of a Wood/stone (Which has a similar look like the Modern Real wooden Floor) Pros•Unlike the RWF & EWF it's 100% Water Resistance •Cost Effective & Durable •Scratch & Dent Resistance (better than EWF) •Pet friendly ( A friend of mine would like this but he doesn't own a Pet ) •Very simple As "ABC" Maintenance • Cons •Can be Punctured by Sharp Objects •Shorter lifespan than wood floors (RWF & EWF) •Difficult to remove, especially if adhesive is used during installation. ||| Laminate Flooring As we all know this is an Artificial Printed Wooden Floor Design. Pros•its Beautiful •its scratch resistant (PS: laminate is not more Scratch Resistance than Vinyl) •its durable •Easier installation (Encourages D-I-Y) •its Moisture Resistance Cons•its not 100% water Resistant like Vinyl •Can't be Refinished like the RWF RWF VS EWF VS VINYL VS LAMINATEI would recommend Laminate flooring or Vinyl to My Clients tho. Well According to Diordaves “Some like it in the Pot three days old” *°•HTF•°* |

diordaves: Terrazzo installers still dey Nigeria? I truly would not mind an excellent terrazzo floor for our forever home.
It's something I will look into God willing after the pandemic. I was in a church in Italy not too long ago and the floor is terrazzo. You need to see this floor to understand why I like it in the pot three days old. Yes we have very good Terrazzo installers in Nigeria. Polishing too is Available for existing Terrazzo floor. |

diordaves: If you like call me 'winch' I no go vex, but I like the BEFORE floor pass the AFTER.
No be 1980s terrazzo floor I dey see there so? That's a floor with character, history and originality. They don't make them that good anymore. A good scrub and waxing is all that floor needs.
Well ancient and modern. Me, I be old time religion. I would not carpet over a 1980 terrazzo floor.
Peas porridge cold Peas porridge hot Peas porridge in the pot three days old Some like it hot Some like it cold Some like it in the pot three days old. Oga diordaves I no go call you 'winch' but make i just say you be man of 'Antiquity' Yes that's a terrazo floor. To be honest Sir, you've just said the truth about the durability & originality of this floor & I sincerely agree with you. I could remember vividly the Landlord of that house 'educated us (My self & the client) for about an 1hr telling us history & how durable & long lasting the Terrazzo Floor was. But just like you know "they don't make it standard like before" . It's better to go modern in terms of Aesthetics. The Terrazzo Floor doesn't really beautify your home. :My Opinion tho: Like have always said on this platform. (you just did) Lemme me drop a similar quote of yours again for others “Some like it in the pot three days old”Anyways, what do I know! Am just a Learner *°•HTF•°* |

I just hope people would start adopting it. Most people would go for tiles! We did a Laminate Flooring job for a Client 2years ago. Laminate flooring is similar to luxury vinyl tile in its look and method of installation. The critical difference is that its core is made from wood byproducts bonded with resins. The top surface is a hard, transparent plastic wear layer that covers the printed design layer. Let's say vinyl is a better choice when you need water resistance, lifespan and durability in your flooring. Meanwhile laminate is preferable if you want a more stylish appearance lower costs and a comfortable feel underfoot, Although both have their pros & cons & they are so similar in some aspects. Would share more on Other floor options tomorrow. Real Wooden floor Engineered wooden floor LVT / LVP Picture below where we designed a client's apartment! Laminate flooring included. Pic 1*. diordaves: Wahala dey o.
So how much is the tile per sqm that was said to be too expensive, so we should look at brutalist industrial concrete floor as an option?
People save up and look for nice tiles and tile your home. Tiles are the crowning glory if you pick wisely. How will I spend 30 million to build a duplex or bungalow, come put interlocking floor for inside parlour and even kitchen. Which kind tight-hand be that? Tiling na the last mile. Close eye and finish strong. It is what it is. You are going to spend millions any which way, so why finish shabbily if care is not taken. That's why i quoted "(Luxury stuff)" |

jabolo: Busy is an understatement. More an assault on the senses IMO.
Minimalism as a concept in interior decorations has much to be recommended. Neutral colors, thoughtful living spaces etc.
You get a sense of calmness as well, if your brain is not constantly but subliminally overworked with the ever present visual stimulation.
And, if you really want to go bohemian on a whim, do it with something easily removed/replaced (like a rug or painting). Perhaps not something permanently etched like these examples.
Horses for courses though. While you have a good point, but every one has their own taste! Interior design is the art & science of understanding people's behaviour to create functional spaces. |
