Courtship is a totally different stage
Changes with the environment, here in the UK, it's sometimes the 'moving in together' stage
But there's always a spoken commitment . . . and maybe a ring
I agree with u 100%.
However, so many gurls are ready to move in with guys as soon as the relationship hits 5 days. . . . .
U know the drill. . . . .deliberately forgetting personal effects till they eventually move in permanently.
I don't think gurls in the UK worry about courtship after proposal or pre-proposal. Anything goes on this island.

@ Presido,

Everton is a district . . . . . .
It's like saying. . . . .It's not even a town.
Do they have their own postcode, areacode or what??

@ Presido,

Don't mix this argument with geography.
Where is Goodison Park?? Is it in Liverpool or St. Helens/Everton??
Dayokanu claims Rooney is originally from Everton(town) and i corrected him that Wazza is from Croxeth(liverpool) and there's nothing like Everton.

@ Debosky,

Whatz with Jackal's egregious bombastic tone.
Ma web analyser is telling me here this is the 50,000th time u would use the word "egregious" in ur comment on NL. . .
Are u related to the word?

@ Doyin13,

2 factors are at work here. . . . .

Chelsea's magic men are all in their 30s or there about AND Scolari hasn't managed a football club for ages now.

Man Utd can look up to Rooney, Ronaldo, Nani and Tevez to do the runnings.
Arsenal have Cesc, Adebayor, Walcott who can deliver on the big stage and are all young.
Liverpool can count on Torres, Babel and Mascherano(all are young blood) to get hold of a match.
Who can Chelsea call on?? Only Mikel and Kalou are the young players they have got . . . . Isn't that recipe for disaster?? grin cheesy cheesy

Yea. . . . . .I meant 2007(clear oversight there).

Thats exactly ma point. . . . .
Milan were coming fresh on the back of 6 weeks winter-break while the lads at United had to beat all and sundry before UCL knock-out stages.
Ancellotti and his boys had only one title to fight for. . . .Fergie was still in the chase for 3 titles(Big Difference)
I remember Milan rested all their players before the game while United had to do a slugfest with Everton at Goodison Park.
Let Milan come to the EPL playing 38 games back to back with so much expectation from the fans(Treble/Quad dreams) and lets see how they would fare.

Well Milan have shown it can work with 'Old Soldier Never Die'

Don't see any reason why Scolari can't emulate Ancelotti.

I think through his coaching career, he has shown himself adaptable
to the resources at his disposal.

When he coached Gremio to the Libertadores, he played a quite conservative
style that was treated with disdain in Brazil, but then he bacame coach of the Selecao
and brought refreshing attacking football with the players he had.

I look forward to seeing what he can come up with at the Bridge.
This is not SERIE A where Milan can afford to steam-roll others with their pensioners. . . .This is the English Premiership.
U are ignoring the fact that we don't observe the winter break in this league and thatz a massive difference.
Put the AC Milan team that won the UCL in 1997 in this league and they would finish 6th or 7th.
Besides, don't u think Fergie has the edge over Scolari. . . . . He has spanked him before when Scolari was the manager of Palmeiras. grin grin grin

No one is trying to clutch at straws here, u started the point scoring which in me opinion is a tad childish.
Now that all's said n done, i still believe Henry's transfer fees from Juve to Arsenal was expensive at 10.5 million pounds in 1999.
It was a massive risk paying that much for a player who was on a decline. . . .  .
Wenger tried the same hand and he got bitten with Reyes in 2004. . . . If he had stormed the PREM, his previous employers would have commented saying they shouldn't have let him go to Arsenal just like Ranieri and Ancellotti were claiming in your links.

@ Ibime,

Lemme address ur points one by one . . . .

First all, Ikpeba was the top dog at Monaco. . . .Using goals scored as a yardstick is extremely folly.
It's like comparing Adebayor's goal haul to Fabregas . . . or Hleb to Bendtner. . . .There's more to a player than goal scoring.
Sonny Anderson ma foot. . . . . .Who was the prince of Monaco?? Anderson or Ikpeba??
For CAF to have nominated Ikpeba when the likes of Hadji, Kanu, Weah and so many other African players were top dogs in Europe speaks volume.
Do u know Ikpeba's rating just before France 98?? I suggest u go watch Spain V Nigeria all over again and listen attentively to commentaries.

Really? Wenger left in 1994 when Henry was barely 16/17 and had only played a handful of games under him.
Wenger left in 1995 and not 1994. . . . . .This even shows u know next to nuthing about French Football.
After Wenger was Gerard Banide for a short spell then Jean Tigana in the same year(1995).
So u have buried urself while trying to be the guru of La Ligue.

Stop scoring cheap points. . . . . I deliberately omitted Wenger's stint in Asia cos it was not relevant to the debate.
Henry/Wenger connections were in France and England so why include Japan and u are counting points for that.
Go back and read ma previous posts where i have taunted Arsenal fans how Wenger got sacked in Japan b4 going to Arsenal.
Keep awarding imaginary points to urself. . . . .They sure pay ur bills. grin

Your other gibberish is warped since u dont even know Wenger left Monaco.
Henry played 18 games under Wenger and not 8. . . .

Scoring goals is not the only yard-stick. . . . . Unless u wanna say Victor Agali is a better player than Kanu or Crouch is better than Wazza.

@ Dr Kit,
Victor Ikpeba is now a valid comparison to Henry? Is that what Complete Football magazine taught you? Please don't start. . . . . . The only guy at Monaco whose profile could match or better Henry's at that time was Sonny Anderson.
This is why i'm sure u don't know alot about French football back in the 90s.
Ikpeba was the star at Monaco . . . . . . . . His exploits at Monaco won him CAF player of the year, remember??

You know, I could have pulled you up on your statements about Tigana joining Monaco just before Henry left but I decided to ignore it for the sake of peace. Infact, Tigana was not even a direct replacement for Wenger. There was another dude there that Tigana took over from. You also stated that Wenger left Monaco for Arsenal - but Wenger made a pit stop in Japanese football with Nagoya Grampus 8 between Monaco and Arsenal. As Dayokanu stated above and as I stated earlier, Henry spent virtually his whole first team career under the tutelage of Jean Tigana.
Thierry's struggles could also be attributed to the departure of Wenger prior to the season, who left to manage in the Japanese First Division (and shortly thereafter went on to Arsenal). Thierry was comfortable under Wenger and struggled to find that same level under new manager Jean Tigana
http://www.jockbio.com/Bios/Henry/Henry_bio.html

This is not the first time I have corrected your mistake so bear that in mind for next time.  cheesy  You know, I never argued with Akola about Nigerian club football because he is the Baba in that area and I have limited knowledge. In the same vain, I would also advise you to leave debates on French football pre-2000 alone because that Tigana mistake could only be made if you were not watching French Footie at the time. Therefore when you made judgements on Henry, I was right to say that your verdict on Henry was based on WC 2008 and his Juventus experience.
You never saw him in France. No beef, just saying.
WC 2008? Ibime, are u in a trance??

As u can see from the post above. . . . . . . You are the one making a mistake.
There was no Tigana mistake . . .  .Henry struggled under Tigana and didn't develop like he woulda developed under Wenger.

My omission of Wenger's short spell at Japan was deliberate. . . . It wasn't relevant in our debate.
Why mention Japan when Henry/Wenger association had no links whatsoever in the Asian country. . . They were only connected in France//England.
Anything to score cheap points, huh?

Speaking of France, did you know they were one of the first to employ a 4-2-3-1 system as they did in that WC? Henry played on the right, Dugarry played on the left and Guivarch was their lone striker with Zidane behind him. It was the first time I had seen Henry playing right-wing and despite that, he did quite well, keeping Robert Pires on the bench for the whole tournament. I still don't know why Aime Jacquet changed the system for the final, but it definitely worked.
4-2-3-1 system which they left for 4-3-2-1(Christmas Tree formation) in the latter stages . . .They copied this from the Egyptians(CAF 98) grin grin
Have u forgotten they had Petit, Deschamps and Karembeu in the midfield??
With Guivarch, Djorkaeff and Zidane in the final 3rd, they were too strong for Croatia and Brazil. grin cheesy

Henry also sat out in the game against Denmark in the group stage.
In the knock-out stages against Paraguay, he was ineffective also. . . . .He had to be subbed in a game that ended with a golden goal.
For the final, i believe Aime Jacquet preferred experience to youthful energy but that isn't the point. If Henry was big like u claim, he woulda started.
Ronaldo de Lima was 21 and not even his strange illness on the day of the final prevented Mario Zagallo from STARTING him.
