Righteousness89: A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
No Matter how sweet or long Evil may look, it always ends in Super Premium Shame and tears..
The Mystery of all these, is that if Huss Genuinely repents and Surrender to JESUS, Baba will forgive and Accept him one instantly!
I am begining to wonder this forgiveness mantra. So i can go gaga this moment and once i am caught and shortly before my last spell i can seek forgiveness? Ok. I am watching. It is beginning to look like we serve different Gods. |

SmartProf: Don't be surprised if some Nigerians who fly will pay without complaining because most Nigerians who fly often pretend to be rich, very comfortable, and classy. This attitude gives them a false sense of pride meanwhile the value they get for such hiked services remains the same. All these outrage may not sail, especially if those who are contesting it have never seen a completed airport before Whatever the argument, it is still safer to fly than to go by road. Meanwhile it will amount to some warped reasoning to expect that tickets will remain same if the passengers will have to be reduced to accommodate social distancing inside the air crafts. The airlines are in business to break even and make some profit. Oga I did not know it is you again. I am not trolling you ooo. |

Getsaved: Good day everyone. Does anyone here still remember one prophesy a nairaland placed here some months back? He said something big will happen in June this year 2020 that would shake Nigeria. That an event would occur that would draw the attention of the world. That it would almost cause a violent crises that would make the comity of nation to install a Yoruba man as a presiden. He claimed God has shown hime before, but because of doubt he did not paste it on NL. That he was posting it here because he saw that same dream (abi prophesy) the second time. A lot of person commented and supported him. Why others said they would screen shot it and remind him when his prophesy failed. Who still remember? Because I actually bookmarked it but I cannot find it again in my history.
I think will also creat a topic for this, for a wider view. Today is 26th, June ends on 30th....What is your take? |

SmartProf: Tinubu is not daft to make the kind of statement the fake news blog earlier carried. He has been in Nigeria politics for long to know how to be diplomatic in the face of disappointing events. Only beer parlour pundits would have swallowed such news that Tinubu will speak like that MURIC Akintola We agreed (I concurred with you) in a similar but different thread that he could not have said a thing like that. He should however sue to clear his name, this is what people do in organised climes. I repeat, don't engage me in any political argument, I am just reasoning logically, I am not interested in Nigerian politics and I don't even know the political parties, let alone who is doing what from where. If you mention me on this point I will ignore you. |

I tend to agree with you. I am only but a keen follower and trying to logically reason. I dont even know the names of the political parties but purely on reasonable logic there is no how Tinubu would say such grevious things, not with 3 more years before the current tenure of Buhari runs out. I hope a cure or treatment will be found soon before it gets out of hand Honestly when I took time today to look at passengers inside buses I just told myself that there could only be one version of truth...there is either no covid, or the one in Nigeria is different or Nigerians will still die in their numbers later. Buses were carrying full loads of passengers with very few people wearing face masks... Makes me wonder , do we have a different form of covid-19 in Nigeria as different from the ones in Italy, Brazil and US? |

Education › Re: Why I Abandoned My PHD Programme by hardbody: 10:24pm On Jun 24, 2020 |
Takara: I found this on Facebook page of one Ahmad AbdulQadir
After I had gained admission for a Ph.D program, I had to abandon it after seven years because of so many hurdles that arose and made it impossible for me to continue.
The first hurdle came from my employer: my Director General, DG, at the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, at the time, who denied me and other colleagues promotion for ten years, also put across a lot of hurdles on my path to ensure that I never completed the program.
There was a committee he set up to look into applications for study leave, shortlist and forward recommendations to him for approval. My source in the committee told me, one day, that they were perplexed at how the DG kept on skipping my name whenever the list was forwarded to him: he just ticked the ones he liked and returned the list in spite of the fact that I had met all the criteria for approval.
So, I decided to take a risk and continue with the program secretly, without approval, since it was research based and course work was not required.
When I thought I had found a way around it, he transferred me to a place far away from the school. Still, I persevered and continued with my studies from my new location. Somehow, he found out again and transferred me to another place further than my new location, after about two years. When I decided to quit, he was, mercifully removed as the DG. Excitedly, I decided to continue with the program, but other unforeseen hurdles arose.
I suddenly came up against corrupt departmental staff at the university, who wanted money before they did their work. They even, at a time, hid my departmental file and said there was nobody to go and search for it. They advised that I open another one and again pay the departmental charges. And they were openly encouraged by the course coordinator who said, to my face, that they shouldn't pity me because my organization had money.
Then, the same course coordinator, who happened to be my supervisor, made me open a file where I put my proposal because he said he wouldn't accept it by email as it would require him buying fuel to start his generator to download and print it. Whenever I went to ask whether he had gone through my proposal, he would ask me to go through a stack of files to find mine - sometimes I would find it after so much effort and waste of time. At other times, he would say he might have taken it home - after which he would give me another appointment as he was unable to look at it. And I normally had to cover about 400 kilometers to reach the school. The man seldom answered my phone call nor responded to my emails.
One of our staff who just completed his masters told me they had to contribute money to pay for accommodation and feeding for the external examiner!
At this stage, I got fed up and threw in the towel after seven years of trying. I just felt I wasn't destined to complete the program. I asked around and was told I could get frustrated in the public universities, so I had to advise myself and has since commenced the program with a private university. I am done with my M.Phil and about getting as assessment that will enable me convert to the Ph.d proper. I am hoping to not spend more than 4 years, I actually plan to spend 3. |

Stephenomozzy: Don't go to a police station yet,
I believe your wife has family, and those families can be traced to a physical address, why not reach out to all those people in her family and let them help you trace where ahe might likely be. It's not like she's traveled out of your state.
Involving the police would not spell well for either one of you.
When she comes back home, talk to her, let her know you love her (make her feel loved the way she appreciates - love language), appeal to her to talk to you IF THERE'S ANYTHING YOU DID WRONG AT ANY TIME THAT YOU DIDN'T PROPERLY APOLOGIZE FOR THAT SHE'S STILL ANGRY ABOUT (Yes, some people keep that kind grudge).
Try to mend your relationship with her mother (you don't have to be her friend). Just don't be her enemy lest she turns your wife against you over and over again - the mum has alot of influence on her, it seems. All of these ontop woman I married and kept in my house? Not saying you should do this but if it's me, she will come back and become a second wife. Another lady will welcome her. Nonesense and ingredients. |
