Obio4real: Source: https://www.grassrootreportersng.com/2020/07/tears-as-part-of-calabar-second-biggest.html?m=1 It is both sad and unfortunate. If you tell them to take out fire and all risks insurance, they will tell you that insurance is fraud. Some will go further to tell you that God is their insurance and the very spiritual among them will quote the bible and tell you that if the Lord does not guide the city, it is in vain that the watchman has labored. Meanwhile the government they are asking to come to their aid and rescue have insurance in place for everything knowing that things can go wrong. Nigerians are just roundly backward. Oyibo man is not crying because of the riots, flood, fire, etc because there is rock solid insurance in place. |

sonnie10: You check off Yes on a standard list provided by the board detailing all the requirements. And No, if any is missing. My point - Question No. 3 is not a Yes or No question. It requires some elaboration...some prose. |

sonnie10: Is the Doctor registered with the board? Is the Doctor performing an approved procedure in line with her qualification and expertise? Under what condition are the procedures performed? Are there enough trained and competent staff on ground to assist during such procedures? Does the Doctor disclose the risk versus benefit to patient? Does the Doctor have the consent of the patients?
If the answers to these questions are yes, then standards were not compromised. How do you answer Yes or No to question No. 3 |

I don't have a name for it but consistent with the portion i referenced in James, it could have been anything other than test. Is there a difference between test and temptation? UDUJ: I was a wellsite senior geologist but left the company in 2014 for a better offer elsewhere. Even then those of us in the know knew it was just a matter of time before the company would be taken over because of the debts and we were not even producing up to 5000 barrels of oil a day but continuously collecting cash calls from NNPC. It was just a ticking timebomb waiting to happen. I can relate. When I wrote their recruitment test and passed was way back before 2014. I was later to get a sense of their financial stress much later, i guess around 2013 when i was working with a company on the same street as their head office and I think there was a transaction i worked on where the company also had some interest. Congrats bros for moving on before the collapse. May God continue to give us the wisdom to act with insight. Cheers. |

Education › Re: Do You Have Regrets About Your Days At The University? by hardbody: 11:31pm On Jul 01, 2020 |
lilioj: So I ran into an old school mate of mine sometime last week, she was my roomie, very reserved and bookish.
While I and my friends / other roomies were very social and went to the occasional club parties, she was always indoors with her books and well, I guess it paid off cuz she graduated with a 2.1 while we struggled with 2.2.
Back to when I saw her, after exchanging pleasantries we reminisced about school days and I was shocked to hear her say she envied my days in school, like she wished she lived a more social life, I was so surprised I on the other hand wished I was serious and concentrated more on my studies, maybe just maybe I would have graduated with a better grade.
We both laughed at the irony of it all and this made me wonder ; do we all wish we did things differently in the university when we look back? There is no how in double hell i would have made first class in the law faculty of my school. So i had all the fun i could and left with 2.1. No single regret. To God be all the glory. |

JONNYSPUTE: ....Good morning folks. Sure we are all good and managing the effects of pandemic well?. To God be the glory.
This is going to be long because I will want us to read and understand it very well before commenting. Reason is because any decision taken is going to affect both myself,my immediate family members, extended and the entire community.
I have been thinking about the way forward since December last year.
It happened that we lost our king (Eze) 5years ago and the community has been in turmoil due to the inability of the elders to select a new king.
Reason is that it is rotational between my village and the other village.
My village is now supposed to bring out the next king and my compound has been told to bring out somebody to be crowned as a king.
I never envisaged or dreamt of becoming a king in my life because. (1) My father is still alive. (2)I'm not the most senior in the entire family.
But then, the elders met me last December and told me that the diety in the community has selected me to become the next king and that I have to pick another wife from the community before I will be crowned.
I told them point and blank that the oracle is mistaken due to the reasons I mentioned above but they are not taking it.
Now everyone in my village is against me for refusing the offer and saying I'm doing it be cause I don't want to hurt my wife which is true.
Now my question is,What do I do? Should I damn the consequence and pick another wife and be crowned a king in other to make my community happy or should I forget about the whole idea entirely and allow the community sort themselves out?
I'm confused here. N B. My wife is aware of all this.
Thanks.
Please bring this to front page cause I'm no longer myself. So many sleepless nights and selfish advices from the elders in my community. I really need to hear the truth from people I don't know. I can quite relate with your post because i am in a similar position, infact I had been for a while. I will tell you what I did. I requested that I be allowed to give the stool to someone to hold in Trust for me until I am ready to take it back. I was allowed. I am in the process of choosing an uncle of mine to do that and i will never go back to collect it from him. I hope to meet with the king makers after the Covid and when flight fully resumes. If you are allowed that window, deploy it. All the best. |
