LADY OF RAGE: I hope he gets a good job. Such a person is supposed to be made a Minister of youths in Nigeria rather than an incompetent fellow.
Minister of Youths at what age? You reckon it is his GPA that will determine how he manages the problems ofyouth in this country? My dear please be informed that experience is not on teh shelf and cannot be bought. Experienec needed to run that ministry or any other ministry for that matter comes with age and experience.

Judge, Two Others Killed in Courthouse Shooting
Atlantans were on edge Friday after a rap3 suspect allegedly shot and killed three people in a downtown courthouse and made a desperate escape, sparking a citywide manhunt.

"We recognize this is a very scary situation," said Mayor Shirley Franklin (search), who assured citizens that city, state and federal authorities were concentrating their resources on capturing the fugitive, Brian Nichols.

Nichols was at the Fulton County Courthouse (search) in downtown Atlanta to face charges of rap1ng and holding his girlfriend prisoner. But before entering the courtroom, police say he grabbed a sheriff's deputy's gun and used it to kill three people, including Superior Court Judge Rowland Barnes (search).

The deputy was in critical condition with a gunshot wound to her head, a doctor at Grady Memorial Hospital said. She was expected to survive.

Nichols also allegedly carjacked a series of vehicles following the 9 a.m. EST shooting. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office (search) most recently sent out an alert for a green 1997 green Honda Accord, license plate 658-4YN.

There were no signs he had taken anyone hostage, said officials, who were determined to nab him before the opportunity arose.

Don O'Briant, an Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter and owner of the stolen Accord, said Nichols initially ordered him into the trunk. O'Briant refused, and was injured in the carjacking.

A former FBI agent worried future victims would not be so lucky.

"He already showed that he doesn't care about taking lives," said Harold Copus, a former FBI special agent in Atlanta. "We have to be very concerned about a hostage situation. If that gets in the way of him and ... another car, he will take a hostage.

Convicted robber escapes from the dock at Southend court

Convicted robber escapes from the dock at Southend court

A CONVICTED robber jumped out of the dock and escaped just as a judge was sending him down.

Recorder Baker had sentenced 19-year-old Ricky Kerry to 28 months behind bars for stealing a mobile phone when he leapt over the side of the dock at Southend Crown Court and fled.

Witnesses saw Kerry, of Jones Close, Southend, push through the heavy double doors of court two, run across the corridor and down the stairs.

A woman, believed to be his girlfriend, was screaming at him to stop as he scrambled down two flights of stairs, out the front of the court building and sprinted towards the High Street.

One witness said: “It all happened so fast. I was sitting outside court two when I heard shouting from inside. I just thought it was someone shouting at the judge but the next thing I knew, this lad barrelled past me and rushed downstairs followed by the court’s security guards.

“Everyone was gobsmacked.”

The guards chased unemployed Kerry, who was wearing a dark grey tracksuit, down Victoria Avenue but he gave them the slip.

He was being sentenced for punching a man and stealing his phone on Wednesday, April 17 in Sutton Road, Southend.

A manhunt has now been launched and police are appealing for anyone who knows where he is to hand him in.

One court worker, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: “The judge was just saying he will give him 28 months and that was it he was over.

“A security guard was sitting behind him but he wasn’t in cuffs. He didn’t say anything he just jumped over the dock.

“When he is caught he will be charged with escape from lawful custody. I am amazed he wasn’t in a secure dock.”

An Essex Police spokesman said: “Police are looking for a 19-year-old man who has absconded from Southend Crown Court.

“He made off on foot at just after 12.45pm in the direction of Baxter Avenue. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and has brown eyes.

“If you spot him or know where he is call Essex Police on 101.”

Iykopee: Dont we have executive rascality in d constitution? Bello seems to be a learner and inexperienced coz the system has been clutched by men of high talons... I just hope GEJ will listen to d court and do restrategise coz i knw d judiciary is only a puppet compared to d executive.
Its been years in the law school when my then lecturer taught us that some of what you need to assess is the possibility of enforcing a judgement before you institute an action in court. Keyamo understands what i am talking about. At most you will brand it executive recklessness or lawlessness but what will you do if the C-in-C chooses not to hear or comply with the courts decision? It is for the same reason that it is silly to sue an agbero with no permanent place of residence. (and i am not comparing both oo)

Meanwhile, the advise to GEJ is very simple. Appeal the judgement to the court of Appeal, and from there to the Supreme Court. By the time you are done, one or two things would have happened including either ofa military take over or the conclusion of his tenure

careytommy: Why will the Judge sentence armed robners to death? did they kill during their operation?
Concentrate in your line of business and leave Law and legal interpretation to lawyers. The law books says the penalty for armed robbery upon trial and conviction is death penalty. Until the law is changed, it remains the law. If you want it changed, approach the National Assembly and request for a review of the Criminal Code to that effect. Until that is done, Lawyers and judges follow the law as stated in the books.

If i hear one word from you again......

Honestly you are the object that needs to be urgently discarded, you are not fit to live with humans. The only other explanation is that you are probably an armed robber, are you?

Lawalemi: Truly NUPENG has betrayed in the past particularly in the case of Chevron contract workforce. Going forward, this strike is needed to tell the IOCs that Nigerians cannot be slaves in the homeland.
You may find yourself in the oil industry tomorrow as a contract employee, NUPENG is saying it is unfair for you to remain in that category forever.
So you have been hoodwinked into believing that those guys are fighting your cause abi? You must be a learner. Why do you think those threatened strikes are always called off at the midnight of the day preceding the actual strike action? The reason is simple, they stage manage these things when the officials are broke and once fat envelopes/cheques are given to them, then you wake up in the morning to hear that the strike has been called off by the 'central Working Committee' whoever those ones are.

As for being contract staff, well, you guys are generally 'permanent contract staff' as those contracts just keep running endlessly. I have friends who became contract staff like 4 to 6 years ago, they are still 'contracting' and making money, their other peers are still pounding the streets in search of 'temporary permanent jobs' to no avail, while others who had joined the banks and a few other industries had in the same period been downsized or rightsized. In all i am saying that you people should not use your 'reggae' to spoil my 'blues'. This morning i could not buy fuel because of the endless queues on Awolowo road, should the fact that you are a contract staff be a reason why i should suffer? Cant your people think of better ways of fighting for your rights, i am getting angry now.

He should be shot in at least 23 different places, starting from the points where he will only be hurt but not die till they hit his skull and brains finally. That way he would have felt at least some part of the pains of the 23 dead. Besides, he should be shot over a period of 2 days, so that the pain will hit him hard.

brotherlyn: Please, pay your tithe to a Bible Believing Church and contribute whatever you have power to contribute. Don't make the mistake of substituting your tithe for OJB's contribution.

God does not need your money to heal him. All He's asking for from you is simple obedience as regards Tithing and in so doing, He'll protect you against any form of devourer including terminal disease.
What manner of advise is that? He/she should add money to what your other congrgation members are giving to your already well-fed GO (MoG) to use in acquiring another private jet, and live a more comfortable life while here is a man that really needs that cash. Don't you think that a gift to this man will be appreciated more by God? Jesus said 'as long as you do it to any of my little ones, you are doing it for me. So if that be the case, why would i give my money to the church when they are needy ones around me. Jesus also said that the needy ones will always be around us, so now is the time to help them and stop turning logic on its head.

funkybaby: no insurance, no car tracker ! shocked shocked

these are the two major things that needs to be done after purchasing a car before cruising around town with it.

in my case, i asked for an email confirmation from the insurance company confirming that the insurance policy was active even though i had paid and i was yet to receive the original policy documents. even with the email confirmation, i was on their neck till i received the documents from them.

i hope and pray that you are able to recover the car. Amen.

I will gladly reward whoever sees the car with a million for going through the stress.

I am also sorry for posting in this segment of the forum. dont know where to post it.

Many thanks.
Did you install a tracker, if you did, it should not be difficult to get it back especially if you also inscribed numbers on all the parts that matter. that way no one will be able to buy the parts off the thiefs. Secondly, do you have an insurance on it, if you did, you can sleep easy.

Infact if you have an insurance with the guys i use (Cornerstone), at the point of insurance, they also install a tracker as it will also help them against payment of claims as the car will not be removed. They installed geo-fencing on my new SUV which means whenever the vehicle gets to any of the borders, the engine will switch off and cannot be driven whether to Chad, Cotonou, cameroun or wherever you want to access. I will however help you rebroadcast. Take heart bro, thank God they did not hurt you
