exxell: LEGAL JUNGLE JUSTICE AGAIN? HOW EXACTLY DOES THE KILLING OF EIGHT MEN JUSTIFY THE KILLING OF ONE MAN? WHAT HAPPENED TO LIFE IN PRISON WITH HARD LABOUR? SMH AT THE NIGERIAN JUDICIARY!
We may be lawless but there are laws in place to deal with virtually all aspects of human endeavors. If 100 or more men participated in the killing of a human, they will all be sentenced for the death of that one man. That is the law as it stands in the books today. Stop parading ignorance in a public forum.
Culture › Re: How Are You - Is It A Rude Form Of Greeting? by hardbody: 6:55pm On May 15, 2013
kokoye: I noticed our people dont take the greeting "how are you" very nicely. When you greet them and say "how are you", most would feel you are being disrespectful. I have experienced this several times - someone actually told me he wasnt a kid when I greeted him that way...and a few did not even respond.

When I say 'how are you' to someone, I'm just checking on them..and I expect the same kind of greeting in return.

Am I alone in this ...and why do you think 'our' people feel disrespected with such a greeting?
Why will you ask me 'how are you'? If i told you any problems will you be able, available and desirous of resolving half of them? When i greet you, just greet me back and move on. But on a serious note, its just a manner of greting but i do not take kindly to it especially when i notice that the person asking that question is probably younger or less priviledged

goldfish80: Bros park well, the N25 bride price doesn't tell the full story. When you consider items written down in the list such as Jorge,25 cartons of beer or more, cartons of malt, rolls of ciggarete, utaba, cartons of Soap, gift items to umuada, youths, iyom Aro,memebers of the brides clan etc etc... There goes your N25 theory lol
If you are any where near smart you will know we are talking about bride price here not the the total cost of a traditional wedding. Did you study that part of English Language called comprehension? It means reading, understanding and retaining.

I saw this message sent to my phone shortly after i had confirmed a booking on May 29 via Arik. I was so angry, although even the Arik was not too expensive at N18k plus (one way). Afterall starting from N9k plus according to Aero does not guarantee any figure until you get online.

My understanding is there's a liason between them and alhaji asari dokubo, they are both joining forces to fight against nigeria and secede. Now, how is this thing being organized, if they are flying the isreali flag while alhaji dokubo is flying the saudi one, how are the two ideologies and countries being reconciled?

Will dokubo convert to judaism or will the biafrans convert to islam. Or is the union going to be a confederation with both religions holding sway.[/quote]How many religions do we have in Nigeria and have we not been cohabiting? some questions do not need answers not just because they are rhetoric its just that they are dumb

Okija juju: I have driven a 2013 Toyota 4runner that had run on flats. And yeah! I have seen it run on flats as well. So whats your point! Google run on flat tyres and watch the videos to see how it works.
And yeah, mechanical advantage is never 100%, but advicing a driver to carry around water, hydraulics etc is just ridiculous. Why not add ball-bearing, ball-joints, shaft, tyre rod, radiator, spark plugs, e.t.c to the list.

If your car spoil for road, pull over to the side, put out your caution sign atleast 30 - 50 meters away from your vehicle, walk far away for the vehicle to the side of the road and call for help.
Bros you obviously do not do long distance travels. All the parts you mentioned do not just spoil, except you do not carry out last minute repairs/checks before you travel. However things like pads, fan belt, etc can give at any point on the way. A towing van may take you to the nearest mechanic workshop but acquiring them especially if you drive state of the art vehicles is not very easy. As for calling for help, let us say you have left Ore behind for 30 minutes and you have a breakdown, coming from lagos, which of your mechanics will you call? just asking

Abbeyme: Publishing this list is commendable but the inclusion of First Aid box and spare fan belt beats my immediate comprehension.
Fellow nairalanders what's ur opinion.
I carry all, including first aid box, spare fan belts and spare brake pads. Last 2 decembers, i had a brake pad problem and imanaged to get to Benin. When i asked some guy to help me change the pad, he was speaking from a point of favour, he said i should be interested in the cost of the pad not the workmanship because if i can pay for the pad, he will do the job free. I asked him for the cost of the pad, he said N7k (this was a Montero SUV). I said it was ok. I opened the compartment containing the parts and brought out my spare pads, the guy simply walked away. I had to manage the pad to Asaba and slept over. In the morning i got some guy to come change it and i think i paid him N1k and also got him to get him another spare for my return trip (which i however did not use).

Policewoman: MBAISE IN IMO STATE IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE. They grade their brides in 4 categories:
1. ILLITERATE
2. SCHOOL CERTIFICATE
3. GRADUATE
4. MASTERS AND ABOVE

Each has their different price tags. For example the graduate can cost you as much as 600k to 1m. smiley
I have heard that story , and i have no way of verifying it. As a matter of fact, my people prefer to marry from within so it just does not matter to us.

Evestar200: @yomi,,igbo marriage bride price cost die mosly imo igbos
I am igbo from Arochukwu in Abia state. our daughters go for N25.25k. It has never changed and will never change. That tradition came from when 25 pounds was big money but today we still give out at N25.25k. Ask around and you will confirm.

When you guys generalize the way you do, i tend to think we have a lot of immature people around this forum. It is sickening.

By the way, our bride price negotiation commences in the open with the parents asking for as high as millions (just forthe fun of it). Some will even tell you that you will be in dollars, pounds or euros. Later the family of the bride and groom are asked to go and negotiate inside and come out. By the time they come out, the parents of the lady (or their reps) will clarify that their forbears did not tell them to accept such high prices, rather that they have been accepting N25.25 kobo in line with tradition. It is after that that the family of the groom will pay the N25.25 and show appreciation with a bottle of hot drink. I attend this festivities every December and it is usually fun
Foreign Affairs › Re: Dead Man Wakes Up At His Funeral by hardbody: 4:01pm On May 15, 2013
There is no miracle here. The man was not clinically dead, at best he was in a comma and quacks confirmed him dead. Thankfully he is not a muslim else he would have come out of that comma 6 feet below and then he would have died a real painful death oblivious to his kith kin and friends.

Moral of the happening are:

1.Don't die unless you are ready to be dead
2.Do not be in a haste to bury the supposed'dead' as he may have not fully decided to 'die'
3.Certification of death should not be done as 'of course'. Let it be known beyond all reasonable doubt that the person is dead for real
4.Finally, if he is an Igbo man, like me, bait him with money, if he does not wake up, then he is dead and ready to be buried

andyanders: I fact what the soldiers did is right because these touts behave as if the whole world belong to them. Good for the guy. Hope he learnt his learson.
Brilliant comment. Most people here have been blinded by the fact that the touts themselves have no business extorting money from bus drivers as these pass down the tolls to passengers. Some buffoons just stand at the bus stop and collect money from others who are toiling to make ends meet by using buses whether theirs or leased (or on loan) It is not good to wish humans death else i would have wished the olawale guy death so that his other mates will realize that they cannot go on playing tin gods. Have you ever noticed where those agberos are beating up bus drivers that refused to pay those tolls being extorted from them? I wish many more of them will receive similar beatings in the mighty name of Jesus

11. The domain name Facemash.com, the predecessor to Facebook that Zuckerberg built in 2003, was sold in 2010 for $30201.

26. There are conflicting viewpoints about Zuckerberg's years at Harvard University. The movie "The Social Network" portrays him as both a genius and as someone who was always socially handicapped, and desperate to find a way into the social elite at Harward.
