If you call them antelope, they will win races at the olympics. Ask Hussain Bolt, they kept calling him antelope, hare, horse, etc and today, you know the result
Politics › Re: Policemen Kill 2 NSCDC Officers In Lagos by hardbody: 5:44pm On Mar 27, 2013
baynix: In what could be described as a commando attack, The Nigeria Police ambushed and opened fire on men of the anti-vandal squad of the Lagos State Command of NSCDC, killing two men on the spot while others escaped with gunshot wounds in Ikorodu axis of Lagos State.

This incident occurs at about 3am on Wednesday morning while the officers and men of the corps were returning from a successful anti-vandal operation where vandals were arrested along with their exhibits and being transported back to the state headquarters of the Corps. According to an eye witness account, the vandals made calls
to their police collaborators for support as they could not everwhelm the anti-vandals team of the Corps.

Immediately the Police got wind of the information laid siege for the Corps and open fire on the NSCDC patrol vehicles killing two while others scampered for their dear lives with gunshot wounds as the vandals were released immediately by the police.

On seeing that it was the police, the men of the corps refused to fire single shot from their rifles but could only express sock at a sistes agency who ordinarily should assist in fighting crime and other criminality are the ones aiding them while the vandals continue to flourish in crime.

They could have been attacked by other robbery tean wearing police uniform. We know that there are times when the robbers wear military or police uniforms to perpetuate their act.

billante: The benefits of the nearly completed Enugu-Bamenda Multinational Highway are already being felt by populations on both sides of the Cameroon-Nigeria border.

The 443 km long Bamenda–Enugu corridor comprises the Cameroonian Bamenda-Mamfe-Ekok road sections (203 km), the Nigerian road sections (240 km), the bridge over the Munaya River in Cameroon (100 m) and the border bridge over the Cross River (280m)

THis is a nice development. I recall with nolstalgia when my Dad used to talk about the Bamenda - Mamfe trips in the course of his early civil service, i guess then Northern Cameroun was still part of Nigeria. I also remember that my mum used to talk about Bamenda people as if they were usually huge, now seeing the fruit seller, i am begining to relate with all those stories.

On a more serious note, how will this affect immigration on both sides and security? will there be ways of checking influx of people to either side? It will perhaps have implications on national security if there are no steps taken to manage some of these. On the other hand, it does appear that even without the Northern part of Nigeria providing fruits, southwardly, people can survive by relating more with the Cameroun axis through Enugu-Bamenda (i know Ogoja links Benue and all these areas together with Abakiliki et al produce yams massively).

In all, a very wonderful development.

lordZOUGA: to do a reset, switch off the phone. on switching it on, hold the "volume up" button and the "home" button. it should boot into revovery mode. and you do your reset from there.
it should remove all factory installed apps on your device. this worked on tecno.
there is no guarantee that this will unlock your phone.
Thanks lordZouga, indeed, i had read that approach online yesterday, but the inhibition is that it wasnt working for me, i may have to try again later today when i am a bit free

ebdib: Please describe the screen lock issue in depth.
I saw this before my immediate last post. I hope we are cool. I was fiddling with the phone yesterday morning using my office WiFi and no sooner had i dropped the fone to pack my documents to the Board room for a meeting than the screen locked and said emergency dialer. I tried every trick and did all manners of hard resetting (battery removal) without luck. At some point i thought it was my network provider, so i engaged MTN and my guy in their customer unit gave me all manner of assistance, but it turned out it had nothing to do with MTN. I scoured several online suggestions and even the sites that suggested how to hack the droid could not help me. I will not mind dumping the fone, its just N26k, but for me, i have taken a liking to it and would want to see it work, any ideas?

While at it, what is the calcare address or lines of infinix in Lagos.

Much appreciated

ebdib: I don't have heating issues with my phone

I don't think its a universal problem, anyone who wants to say this phone is not good or discourage people from buying it because of a SINGle complaint is delusional.
Guy i did not say in any way that the phone had a problem ooo, i do not know whether you are their agent or something to that effect, however recently, specifically as at yesterday, my screen locked up and i am yet to be able to reopen it although calls come in nevertheless and you or anyone else is yet to offer a helping hand. Infact infinix responded to my enquiry by saying i should revert to factory settings, an this i will gladly do if the screen will open for a few minutes. I reckon they do not either understand or care, the same path you seem to be towing.

Calling people delusional because they are complaining of inability to utilize a product for the purpose for which it was acquired gives me ideas about your kinda person, but i hope i am wrong.

I recently acquired this otherwise beautiful race bolt, infinix X450 and while fiddling with it, I suddenly realized that the screen is locked with this emergency tab on the screen. I have tried all the tricks known by me without any success, anyone has an idea what I can do to reopen the phone?
Phones › Re: Infinix X450 Android Phone (ICS)- Race Bolt by hardbody: 11:43pm On Mar 25, 2013
I seem to be the only one having this screen lock problem. I have spent countless hours after work and driving in traffic to resolve it, I have gone to several android sites without success. Should I flash the phone? Good judgement recommends I return it on the basis of the warranty, but I need to try all possible options before doing that. Anyone has a similar experience or suggestion?ebdib, I imagine you are the best hand here

ZIM DRILL: am not a nigerian and never been there but

some cars have daytime running lights they switch one on by themself after sensing that their less day light this is common in swedish cars volvos and saabs

some some models you cant switch of the sensor and some you can
Spot on. The other plausible reason could be that the driver drove off while it was still dark and forgot to switch off when the day had brightened fully. A third reason i know people do it around here is mostly when they plan on doing high speed and the intention is to forewarn oncoming cars, police, customs and all other road users that they there is no intention of stopping and that the driver is slamming the pedal hard so oncomers should beware. Another very good reason is when a guy is doing one way especially in the express and thus sharing lanes with on-coming vehicles, it is supposed to be a warning sign. At those times, some may put on the hazard as further warning. NOTICE, I do all of those, depending on my circumstance at any given point in time.

oluspicy: I always wonder why some ladies moves around dressed to expose their bodies. They do it with much pride, undermining whatever your thoughts or action. Is it because they wanted impress with what they are endowed with or to show how blessed or rich they are? Or what else... I saw a lady at Ikeja along the popular Computer Village. Her dressing was so provocating in such a way people around(esp guys)were gapsing for their breath. I felt so bad about different comment that was uttered that day. This is a complete moral laxity on the womenfolk.
If you have issues with how they dress, join the seminary. In this era when your mates are thinking through business ideas to move their lives forward, you are pre-occupied with how women dress. It is your type that will turn round and insult some of the women folk for dressing like villagers. You get issues, honestly.

Smile4mee01: Death is an inevitable end to man. However,i have noticed with dismay an increase with corpses buried at home. and i personally dont think it's a good thing to bury dead people at home or among the living Regardless of how much you love them, or not. Alot of kids tend to do so to secure properties from being sold. there are some environment where you go every house on the street, every corner you go, has a tomb stone.

As for me. Regardless of how many houses i have, how wealthy i am. when my time is up. bury me in a burial ground. some of my friends subscribe to getting burnt.

This is a sensitive topic, as many people fear death.kindly share your thoughts on the topic? Thanx
I am available to write the Will for all interested NLers so their corpse will treated as they so desire in death.

Politics › Re: N45,000 Bait Used To Arrest Employment Syndicate Members by hardbody: 11:46pm On Mar 22, 2013
Euroclydon: Three members of an employment syndicate have been arrested by the Nigerian Army in Abuja.

The Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Unit at the Mogadishu Cantonment, Commodore Segun Adebari who paraded the suspect said they fell for a bait of N45, 000 which they wanted to personally collect.

This is coming at the heels of many cases of job scam into military and paramilitary organisations in Nigeria.

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigeria Customs have in the past arrested members of syndicates who engage in duping job applicants.

When arrested, the suspects were said to have been in possession of fake naval identity cards, photocopies of credentials and several other items.

The suspects however denied any wrong doing, instead claiming to be victims of a syndicate in the Nigerian Navy.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Navy has launched a manhunt for the leader of the alleged syndicate. The leader suspected is said to be one Mr. Morris Okorobi.
