Travel › Re: The Journey From Accra To Lagos By Road. by hardbody: 8:02pm On Mar 12, 2013
I do not really get all these points. I had done Lagos-Ghana-Lagos by road, just to view the scenery and have a bit of relaxation, i travelled via ABC transport, everything was so well managed and organised. They collected our passports and yellow cards (vaccination) in the bus, gave us forms to declare the amount we had on us and that was the last we had any encounter with anybody. They served us three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner and returned our passports as soon as we had passed Aflao and went further inside Ghana, i guess just before we entered Accra. The return trip was basically the same save for the fact that we got into lagos late because of the traffic from Badagry end. Lest i forget, we were also made to walk through the immigration points as the bus will drive through and go wait for us in front. I recall i had to change some dollars at one of those points so that i will have Ghanian Cedis and pesewas before entering that country. In all i so loved that trip that i am thinking of another.

I missed that experience but certainly will not wish it for my kids either, infact it is not even possible, i have already put up a house, no a home for them. However, it makes interesting reading and one thing i noticed is that kids from those face me i slap you kind of houses are so rugged that you had better think twice before you engage them in fights while we were in the junior classes. Them go beat shege commot from your body. One of those grown ladies then really embarrassed me in class way back....

brosss: The drills started weeks ago. I don't know what's brewing underground, but on the surface, it seems north korea is being too aggressive.( Why does it always have to be "north"wink
We all need to pray, cos I fear the north will pull some other countries into the conflit by provoking them with their long range misiles.... I hope it doesn't degenerate to war.
To the contrary, I hope it does. North as usual has been so pugilistic and what better way to resolve disagreeable parties other than letting them test their strength? If the world was still begging Iraq, Sadman Hussein will still be there playing God. It took an American rally to decisively put a halt to the claim of mother of all wars. Let's see how this one pans out.
I mooted this idea to my lawyer years ago. Google and Yahoo with hundreds of millions of users can confirm the availability of a name within seconds so I don't know CAC's problem. Any way they will lose the N500 fee.
It is the fee that is the main issue here. Besides, Nigerians are just too smart by half and i will not put it past the applicants to contrive ways and means of cheating.

That being said, it would really be a welcome development and it is very possible that this approach may be embraced in the not-too-distant future.
Well that is what we have been saying education is power. Fashola exploited these people because they don't know there right. The councils are supposed provide these people with disposable facilities which they didn't do or alternatively make laws to make sure this part s are recycled or provide recycling parks. These people would have won these case if they had gone to a normal court but it's Nigeria again I doubt if we have normal people as judges in the Nigerian justice system, but they should have gave it a try which they didn't so you are at fault if your councillors are miss using your tax. The question I want to ask is why pay tax and provide basic amenities for your self again something is wrong some where.
did you say Fashola exploited the Igbos? I think i believe you, fraud is synonymous with these people and being a SAN would not change that orientation.SMH

For your information though, if we had gone to court, the matter would have become sub judice and no one would open the place until the case is decided, a situation which would, in Nigeria take an inordinate length of time, NOW, who is the smart kid?
Culture › Re: People Build Better Houses In The Village: Why? by hardbody: 5:53pm On Mar 11, 2013
Jah Man: Please can you gracefully answer these questions for me sir;
1. What is the name of your village?
2. When last did you visit your village?
3. Do your dad or yourself have a small house where you can pass the night there?
4. Do you travel often for festivities to your village?
5. We do not have decent hotels in my town for me to lodge whenever I have reason to travel there. Do you please know of any real estate coy that provides adhoc/make-shift houses for hire in a matter of days?
6. Please can you remind me the true meaning of mismanagement and also confirm if it can also be applicable for an asset in the city?
7. Do you/or your dad have a house in the city or are you working towards completing one?

Why are you so bitter about how another person wants to spend his money? The same money some spend every year visiting foreign countries is what another used to build a house in one part of Nigeria and you turn around and call him a fool?
A colleague once told me how foolish I was in erecting a nice house in my place. But he was yet to complete his own in Lagos. I might even come back and build alongside with him there if I tarry in Lagos.

Please people should mind their business. Money is money, if you cannot insult the one that uses his own on parties, women,'janding', changing cars; then stop blaming the 'Aku lue unos'.
Thank you.
I am proudly an Aro Okeigbo son. I will answer your questions seriatim. Secondly, i was in my homewtoen from December 24th till January 22nd 2013, and planning on going again by Easter. 3) Yes my dad has a house, i stay there while i am putting finishing touches to mine, it is house, he has achieved, mine is mine, i must achieve. 4)We as well do not have a lot of hotels as most people build decent houses, enough to accommodate family, friends and visitors. In all I align myself with your thought process. I restricted foreign trips in the interim and it is surprising how much moneu i have saved up and put into my constructions. A lot of guys in my office are still paying huge rents but will jump at the earliest opportunity of a foreign holiday. It is all about priorities. Interestingly, most of the transient things are being done on an on-going basis, i travel when it is comfortable (but not before i have finished the immediate project), i maintain a decent fleet of vehicles. Please help me tell them ooo

joinnow: its not a good investment.

Let me compress this real life story.
A biz man ( an Igbo) trading at owerri Town the capital of Imo State.
Did so well in his biz line.
Built a four story building at his home vilage.
He did not build any house at owerri.
He was converted to DEEPER Life.
He left his line of biz because his initial biz line involve relabelling motocycle part to (made in Japan) and selling same at original price despite that the part is made in Nigeria.
No money to feed his family at a point he gave out his 4 children as house maid.
He relocated to village and nobdy is willing to rent his house at the village, nobody is willing to buy his house at the village.
Advise build in town first even if you want to go home finally you will get a quick buyer.
He has a simple solution. Mortgage the house in the village and utilize the money to start a new lease of life, it is that simple.
Culture › Re: People Build Better Houses In The Village: Why? by hardbody: 5:38pm On Mar 11, 2013
POLICE CAP: I've observed that most persons prefer to build well furnished mansions in their villages which latter begins to look like an abandoned project because you only find people in them during festive periods. And the funny thing here is that most of these persons live in rented apartment in the city (where they spend most of their time)

In my own opinion, I would suggest they build just a simple house with simple furnishing in the village.... Then own even if its a hut to call their own in the city.

I stil wish for reasons why they do this.....
This is Nigera where anything can happen. We are not forgetting in a hurry the abandoned property saga in the wake of the Biafran brouhaha. No student of history with his eyes wide open will spend a fortune in no man's land without doing something double in his home town. My approach was simple, i built a bungalow in lagos because i live here and make my money here. But the real mansion is going on in my father's land, that is where i will end up when the Yoobas decide to chase me away, and before that happens, i would have gotten the benefit of this structure over time. Besides, even the one here in Lag has been built under a company name so that if push comes to shove, the company (and not me) will remain a citizen to claim its rights. Some of us don dey wizen up.

Virgin Finder: Congrats to the ever boastful Igbos.

I hope they've learnt their lessons.

But the question is, do they ever learn?
Can they ever change?

Time will tell.
Igbos were not the only victims, our Yooba brothers also buy and sell there. Further, mechanics elsewhere who needed to replace parts also got a dose of what happened. Which leads me to another point, it wasnt only the igbos that messed up that place, it was a collective negligence but as usual, the weeping child must always be singled out. That was how my people got sent packing from Ojota, amongst other places, meanwhile other motor parks built and run by people from other regions are left untouched. What happened to Iddo
Politics › Re: North Insists On Amnesty For Boko-Haram- 247news by hardbody: 3:50pm On Mar 11, 2013
clue: One trillion naira is not even enough for that purpose! Now let me ask you, how do you spend even 5 naira prudently in a region that is so totally aganist any reform? Health workers, you kill. Construction workers, you kidnap and then slaughter. Criminals, you free from jail. Schools, you cripple. markets are your target practice arena. Places of worship, you prefer in flames. Your emirs, you gun down. Today you wake up and say no christians and non-indigenes, tommorow you wake up and say not only in your region, but in the whole nation. You even have the temerity to tell the C-in-C to renounce his faith and embrace your brand of ideology. Then you wake up today and ask for amnesty from the same person you promised to slaughter. Even going as far as seeking relevance by aligning your actions to ND "militants" whom you have even promised to forcefully convert or anihilate? Haba!!!
Your head dey dia. May i just add that Boko Haram is supposed to mean western education is not good or something to that effect. If this were true, then what is the nature of amnesty that they are seeking? The ND guys were given money not cowries (or any form of trade by barter) and money is western, others were sent to train abroad on western skills, etc. Since the Northern people belive that every western thing is Haram, what will they do with Amnesty? Let the battle continue, in the course of time, generations yet unborn will have an enriched history of Nigeria, 'there was once a place called Maiduguri, Kano, etc. It so happened that a certain.......And so today, they have been wiped off the planet.....'Modern History of Nigeria...'

Policewoman: I don't blame some people that say Abokis reason like cows. So because F.G granted Amnesty to freedom fighters who are fighting for a share of the resources coming from their own land, you people now think the best way to get the government's attention is by bombing UN building, Police HQ, Army barracks, Churches, shooting and killing christians, muslims, e.t.c and demanding an Islamic state? Do you not see that your brains need rebooting? GEJ must stand by his words. NO AMNESTY TO TALIBAN/AL-QUAEDA STYLED ISLAMIST TERRORISTS!!!!! If una no like am make una relocate to Northern Mali.

I recall in my Uni days taking an elective in Social Anthropology and this sort of arrangement is known as 'Polyandry'. I hope i am right. Will confirm with Google shortly.

On topic, the only bad part is teh fact they do not do a three-some, after all the property is common wealth so there should be no reason not sharing equitably at the same time. But on a more serious note, If either Peter or Paul refuses to travel or be out of the house for a long period, how would she cope, since Maria is never gonna get dug by any of teh guys except when the other is away.

Virgin Finder: The problem is that one will always want to have more of it from time to time until the person becomes a drunk.
Hence, it is better to stay away from it altogether.
Judge not others with your indisciplined life style. I guess if you are like me and work with beautiful ladies all around, you will gradually sleep with all of them until you are saturated. If drinking can make you misbehave or would stumble someone next to you, steer off, otherwise, do not rationalize that because you are morally weak and cant stand to do what is right without prompting, the rest of the people are the same way.

I remain conscious of the fact that whosoever thinks he is standing should be careful that he does not fall.
Christianity Etc › Re: Alcohol And Immorality By Pastor Adeboye by hardbody: 11:21am On Mar 10, 2013
Na wa 4 this man ooo. Ok, I drink out with madam, so we both get high and share love. Where is the room for the mistress that you are touting about. My take is that what the bible recommends is moderation. If wine was bad and completely written off, Jesus would not turn water into wine at the marriage in Cana. Besides, Paul would not have recommended a little wine for Timothy for his stomach problem. Please note I take hot drink when I have stomach problem and it gets resolved. Please you people should direct Mr. Adeboye to Revelation 22 Vs 18 and 19. Handing down the doctrine of men as if it is inspired of God is the highest level of hypocrisy and lying. It is best not to mislead the little ones as the Lord will exact punishment on all that are propagating falsehood in the name of the Lord.

Politics › Re: Explosions In Borno After Jonathan's Visit by hardbody: 8:36am On Mar 09, 2013
Solozzo: Jonathan has shown he wishes to inflame Nigeria more. He granted amnesty to nigerdelta terrorists, paid them huge sums of money and sent them to overseas for training. Why is he fhreatening BH with punishment? What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

It was a missed opportunity for Jonathan to win northern votes : he would have used the opportunity to unite, integrate the nation and show his peaceful nature if he had promised amnesty in exchange for peaceful cooperation from all persons involved in the unrest. BH has virtually conceded defeat.

After all Ojukwu who caused the death of over 2 million Nigerians as a result of the Biafra declaration was granted amnesty -by a northern president incidentally.

Jonathan please review and grant amnesty to BH in the spirit of nationhood and begin the process of reconstruction and rehabilitation. No victor, no vanquished. After all the negligence of govt, poverty and suffering in Nigeria may have led to Islamic terrorism. Why no terrorists in Dubai....
U r a dimwitted person. Niger Delta produces oil that your stu.pid nation uses to enrich the northern vagabonds. In contrast, what does your backward northern brothers produce and contribute to the economy other than violence ?
