Nigeria as a country is terribly confused. Must we always parade our ignorance in the public arena? what has se.xual orientation to do with football? All of a sudden we have become more righteous than the rest of the world. Is it the Lesbos that made us fail to qualify in the last outing or even for the next world cup? How many Ga.Y players do you know in the Senior national team? why are we so living like in teh dark stone ages? Rather than start carving out ways and means of improving our female football considering other African nations are closing gap, people are there thumping their chest and proclaiming like the hypocrits they are that Lesbos will be disqualified.

As a person, i know what my orientation is, but i believe those who are not straight have a right to their own orientations too. unserious country
I m not a cheater
Since we can also learn via this forum and for the benefit of our much younger and less literate 'forumites', there is no such word as 'cheater'. A better way of putting it is, I am not a cheat or i do not cheat. Even in the third person you dont use cheater, rather you say, 'He is a cheat' ....i hope this helps.

On topic, there have been several close shaves, but havent been caught red-handed. I plan to change.

You wear an engagement ring for as long as it takes the man to wed (or marry) you. If you angrily remove it, you run the risk of not wearing another for a long time to come as the next guy that comes around will need time to acclamatize before putting another one there, so exercise patience and support your man. Don't be tempted to remove it without his 'say so'. To be forwarned is .....

If the woman refuses to prosecute and appear as a prosecution witness, the case will be dropped and the man will be discharged even if not acquitted, but that is where her problems will start. Chances are that the man will shoot her again and this time, there will be no mistaking the target. Secondly, he will perfect his story and wont make the same silly 'Pistorial mistakes'. Revolva: Omo d last one I went..I nak my jeans and tommy tshirts with ma NY cap..I no send suit
I am certain that they in turn did not send you as you probably never got the job. As mentioned earlier, at interviews, dress to impress. Just last week, I had concluded a set of placement interviews with more than 12 different guys and was shortlisted to see the Chairman of the Group. The Director of Resources in one of the subsidiary companies had a fresh interview chat with me. She said, guy, you dress very well but to impress Mr Chairman, get a new suit, a new white shirt, a new pair of shoes, a particular color of tie, and you are good to go. I saw the Guru the next day. The only interview session I had with him was me taking a walk with him to a few offices in the complex and I could almost touch his gaze over my suit, shirt, shoe, everything I wore. I am still waiting to hear from them, if I do not, at least it won't be because I did not dress well. I hope I made my point.
Politics › Re: Arrests In Enugu For The Killing Of Kwara CP. by hardbody: 12:48pm On Mar 05, 2013
One thing i have learnt and it has always worked. If you walk around, dress corporately, have a tie around your neck even if you do not have a jacket to put over your shoulder. If you drive around, always pass as a corporate personality with your suit hanging at the bank of the car and a neck tie across your neck, slow down at the police check point, dont look them in the face, slow down briefly and drive off again. At night, dont wait to be asked, as you approach, switch on your inner light, as u get to them, switch off again and slowly move on, police will hardly stop you in those instances. I cannot remember when last i had a discussion with them and sometimes i have driven through where they are carrying out massive arrests and stopping vehicles for search. I am a late night crawler so i know what i talking about.
Romance › Re: How Important Is Genotype In A Relationship by hardbody: 12:09pm On Mar 05, 2013
aadetoyin: Seriously, its extremely important if u intend to marry the person u re dating especially in Nigeria where the medical care services are yet to be the expected standard.
If u do not check out ur genotype and that of ur partner you might end up having a sickle cell carrier in ur family it won't be funny at all.
A lot of trauma is often involved and a lot of money is wasted on medical problems which do not have a definite treatment.

I once had a very close friend that was a sickle cell aneamia carrier, he was always in and out of the hospital, always on medication and he eventually died just as soon as he graduated from the University. He had very high dreams and was one of the best graduating students in his class but we lost him.
As his friend I was traumatized but am sure my pain can never be compared to what his mum must have felt.
For years, we spoke of him like is still alive. And we miss him everyday.
Save urself from pains in the future by checking ur genotype and that of ur partner.
If i am AA (as i am) and my babe is at most an AS (she is AA really)shebi the worst we can get is an AS. That settles it, LOL. Seriously though, it makes sense to confirm the genotype now, bear the sadness of breakup which time - the greatest healer will deal with, than acrrying on in gthe name of love and then having to live with SS kids for teh rest of your lives. From experience of people i know, it could be very traumatic.

I am also thankful to God that with both of us being AA, we will produce AAs which means we are already gonna be securing their future, at worst they can only ask for AS in the worst case scenario.....I am dancing Azonto to the Glory of God

Christianity Etc › Re: Feed On His Word By Pastor Adeboye by hardbody: 11:53am On Mar 05, 2013
Na wa oo. Online, Nigerians are very religious, on fridays, they troop to the mosques, on sundays, they fill all manner of buildings called churches, infact at specific times of the year, some consistently carry out ancestral worship. In all these, crime is on increase, politicians are looting us black and blue, immorality is on a steep rise, all sorts of negative things are happening around us with people killing others as if its nothing. The ALUU 4 were killed by Nigerians sharing at least one of these religious convictions and they did not remember 'thou shall not kill' or that 'all men are brothers'.

For avoidance of doubt, i profess christianity and i try to be a practical christian, however, how can the rest of Nigerians live what they preach, because if half the people that claim to be religious carry out a fraction of what they are taught, Nigeria has more than enough resources to give us a per capita income close to what the US is enjoying.

In my workplace, they think i am a renegade because i refuse to join them in early morning interdenominational devotion and my reason is simple, those guys at the helm of the praying warriors are the ones that cook books, tell all sorts of lies even to junior staff and they do all sorts. I tell them i refuse to be part of that hypocrisy. One thing is certain, i work hard and deliver on my job promises and that i believe is better than mouthing religion at every opportunity just to appear holy. I hate false life.

Dee60: Most people 70 years and above in Nigeria do not know their exact birthday. In their time they did not keep records like we do today. Ask any sincere old man and they will all tell you they work with guestimates.
Oga na lie. I do not need to ask my dad. Come into our 'patriarchal' abode, you will see the family tree developed from about 1870 or thereabouts and containing names of our forbears. They have put those in place and we the younger generation have continued to build on that record. It is possible some come from a family that had no contact with the white men (Arochukwu has a history of early visit by the white men), but even then, births and deaths are easily tied to events. Hence you can hear things like, 'he was born during the war of women (meaning 1929 -Aba Women riot), He was born when the whites attacked Aro, He was born the year following the first empire day (1960), and all such claims. OBJ for who he is should be able to track his birth and stop giving us white lies.

Who are you referring to as 'them' in this instance? With the exception of the Northern brothers, we have east, south and western conglommeration in that market place, do not assume it belongs to your enemies alone.Having said that, i see no reason why a people should not clean up their environment irrespective of their cultural orientation. Government on its own should have planned out that market and made provisions for how effleunce should be dealt with and perhaps creating an initial atmosphere that will enable the users continue to maintain the place.

We all, irrespective of tribe, buy from that market, at least your mgbati or aboki brother goes there to purchase parts for your rickety jallopy, the same with other spare parts market around Lagos (eg first gate, owode onirin, etc)The only reason we all assume it belongs to omo Ibo is because those are the ones with the knack to make good money out of that line of business and therefore are making it big. Let us be rational and apply wisdom in our dealings with others. At least until we go our separate ways (which i pray happens in my life time) let us keep tolerating one another.

Afam4eva: Of course merit still dey. There are exceptional cases but they're very minute...But have you asked those your friends if they did anyone a favour. Maybe by paying money or sleeping...
Afam, this is not good enough. I stand high to maintain that I never bribed my way into any job. Even where I was recommended, I went through the whole process and either get hired or lose out. Currently, I just met 12 different gurus in my line of work trying to interview on a certain position vacant. I just realized that I may not get the job after all because I goofed at the point of chatting with the chairman. That job would have been terminal for me with prospected pay of about N28m per annum net. It looks like I have lost it, not because I know no body, but because wisdom eluded me when it mattered most. And guess what, someone reviewed my pedigree on LinkeIn and asked me over. I never knew the company or it's group of owners. There is still merit in the system. Further, most of the people employed by the company hold foreign degrees. I interacted with 12 odd staff before I met the chairman.
Politics › Re: Foreign Degree & The Nigerian Mentality by hardbody: 11:50pm On Mar 04, 2013
I feel the post and all you guys commenting. I do admit that some foreign degrees are superlative when compared to some Nigerian degrees. However, it does not necessarily follow that head knowledge and experience acquired abroad are always better than their local counterparts. My company, publicly quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, after the consolidation, recruited professionals from UK and US primarily. Some of those guys were earning more than the then MD/CEO. They were coming with Britico expertise to change the industry and teach the local boys how that business is done. 4 years down the line, of the 6 recruited from off shore, only one is remaining in the system, and he is basically doing everything to retain that slot. My point? When you acquire those skill set abroad, use them to impact your environment as your skills must have been taught with the benefit of your locality. Let the mediocre Nigerians as you guys are won't to tag them continue with applying their skills acquired the Nigerian way in Nigeria. Some of us are sick and tired of all these showy display of better quality degree and certificates. As for me ooo, my degrees are not in any way secondary or subservient to another on the same course irrespective of where the other one is obtained. And yes, I am pursuing a PH.d abroad, just because of the certainty in duration of the course not because I feel that the training back home will not be worth it. In all, let us appreciate the little we have and continually build on it.

And by the way, I have held some 4 jobs, and in none was I recruited because I knew any one,it had always been walk in interviews and I got placement on merit. So letbus stop making faulty generalizations.
