Na wa oo. You were doing only 110km/h, babe you are slow on the wheels. We do that speed here in traffic situations and step on the gas to hit 140-160km/h when traffic is light and at night after hours we power home with the needle showing 180 at the minimum. Anyways, i am happy for you. What was responsible? bad car or tyres? i am aware that the roads are in perfect condition abi was the weather inclement? Anyways, savour the joy of remaining alive

nke001: Cars are liabilities!

:lol!:
But they are. Learn simple theories on assets and liabilities and you will find out that cars as liabilities may help generate income and to the extent the income is higher than the expenses, it will become an asset, but if the car just gulps money for fuel, oil, servicing, repairs etc, bros, it is a liability.

Ibanga p: So heart-breaking indeed. I hope d University authorities involved will consider d students knowing that dis results were once confirmed and valid before they granted them admissions.
Unfortunately you cannot build something on nothing and expect it to stand. If the preliminary results, the basis of supposed admission is held not to have been existing and valid at the point of admission, the admission itself is null, void and of no effect whatsoever. I have long given up on Nigeria because of all these nansense.

Car Talk › Re: Car Robbery And Killing Of The Victim. by hardbody: 5:04pm On Feb 26, 2013
ichidodo: If i was a robber and successfully snatch me a highend vehicle. the last thing on me mind is to dispatch the owner except if the owner was very aggressive and hostile or if i was drunk and stoned. The Five-Ohs are helpless in this case except if they launch sting-OPs like setting car thieves up with car bait. They can also come up with creative ideas on how to reduce this menace and if ever u was a victim the best thing to do is to be friendly and coperative. No heroics.
A couple of months ago, by some strange ways, those boys beat the central security and accosted me at my gate. For security reasons, i dont bother driving in any longer. Bt hardly had i disembarked, collected my items and was opening the gate to walk in than the about 6 of them surrounded me with about 3 pointing blunt edged objects at me (guns actually). I assured them i will cooperate and upon demand, i handed over all my three 3 phones (interestingly they did not notice my ipad under my armpit and i actually forgot to surrender that), A loaf of bread and some left over food i brought home for my dog.

THey were obviously not from my neighbourhood as they kept urging me to open the gate to my house, i happily did, because they came face to face with my Alsatian, they all scampered away, but i quickly called my dog back in so that she wouldnt get shot and i will remain vulnerable all night.

I am usually careful and try to anticipate all such moves, but that day, i dropped on my alertness. We pray to God to help us but additional tip i now apply is to vary the time i leave home and the time and routes i use while coming back. I had since realized that for three days or so following up the attack, i always stopped at the junction to my street to buy suya and always hit home at the same time (10.30pm).
I employ tactics that are so mundane like opening the gate and delaying before even stepping out so as to gauge whether someone has melted in the shadows while waiting for me. As for my driving style, my speed while coming home is enough discouragement for any potential attacker to stop me while driving. In all sha, na God hand we dey.

nuelnuel: It's amazing how many people who cannot apply critical thinking to their life, these are the people that go to pastors to ask them whether he is to marry a specific girl and when they are sick they would go to a pastor who would give them immediate answer, you can see someone reported a crime to the police and you wouldn't allow them time for investigation, you want immediate answer, open your eyes!!!
Please spare me that. Where does critical thinking come in here? Do you just bandy words that you just picked up? Somecrime is reported to have happened in December and by last week of February nothin has happened. I am not saying it is yet a bad case, but i am here being comparative as against people like you that see nothing good in Nigeria. THose are the ones who will come out shouting Nigerian police is lazy. How does my comment affect going to church or to your pastor or whatever in double hell you were blabbing about. Keep your attention on the issue at hand and stop deviating. I dont go to churches and i have no business with pastors.

I thought British Police had ready answers to all problems, so since december, they are still arresting, quizzing and releasing. All these guys that never see anything good about 9ja will not have a reason to castigate the slow process of this investigation. Elsewhere you will hear, it only happens in Nigeria....
Investment › Re: Shares Fraud At The Nigerian Stock Exchange (CSCS) by hardbody: 1:02pm On Feb 26, 2013
pappilo: Can anyone with knowledge on this subject area help me with some information please.

Background of the story is Mr J has several share holdings held electronically with A stockbroker. B stockbroker ask for an inter-member transfer of Mr J's holding to them as Mr J has passed away and they have been authorised by his estate. A stockbroker contacted Mr J and he informs that he is alive and well and did not authorise any such requests. A stockbroker declines B stockbrokers request.

Fast forward to a month later, A stockbroker realises that CSCS authorised the transfer and all Mr J's holding have bben transfered to B stockbroker. B stockbroker have sold shares worth N23 million with N4 million already completed and N19 million pending. A stockbroker has now written to NSE and we are awaiting the next cause of action. There are still shares worth millions which havent been sold but are now under the control of B stockbroker

My questions are

1. Why did CSCS authorise the transfer?
2. Can the pending transactions be stopped?
3. How do we go about getting the shares transfered back to the A stockbroker
4. who is liable for the losses?

Thank you
if you havent already done so, report to STFU Milverton Avenue Ikoyi, they will pick up the conniving stockbrokers and after due drilling, they will reverse the sale and transfer. My office once coonived with stock brokers and sold shares we held in trust for a recalcitrant debtor. I spent the whole day at STFU trying to bail the MD of one of my subsidiaries, the guy that pulled that stunt. He was granted bail when he had written an instruction reversing the transfer. Those guys are good at it and they are experienced.

We dont need to, we are never at war with any body. If Cameroun shouts, we we develop cold, our neighbours around us know that we will never fight them, we are only good at peace keeping. Afterall according to Daddy OBJ, Africa is the centre piece of Nigerian foreign policy, whatever that means. So we will rather squander the money than apply it for purposes of territorial integrity and sovereign defence.

Born 2be Rich: The funny thing is that change has to come with a price....Ladipo market to be honest is filty and disgusting...if the traders there( pls note it is not only igbos that trade there) refused to keep the place clean and serene then what the government did is absolutely correct..

We keep complaining about so many things we dont have the slightest understanding of...The lagos state govt has laid emphasies on making lagos a mega city and this is one of the steps in making it a reality...

If you keep an environment clean and observe decency then the govt can never say they want it shut down...

What pisses me off is that majority of all the people saying the lagos state govt is fighting igbos can never try what they are doing in ladipo in advanced countries like U.S or U.K without being fined or even arrested...

Let Mr. Fashola continue his good work and hope other greedy governors are watching him making a change...
Yeah, I concur, let him continue with his good job. There is however ripple effect on the brilliant job he has been doing. With okada off the roads, people are trekking to their offices, more vehicular traffic is the order of the day, crime will only get worse. With ladipo closed, spare parts will become more expensive and this will be passed on to the passenger, yes, let him continue the good work without providing alternatives to the bikes or the market. Is closure the only reasonable thing? How about bring in those corporate cleaners and then charge the traders to pay them on an ongoing basis. This way, the state could even make margins off the marketers. This is a brainless and brutish thing to do.

I really like this part. Nigerian authorities should borrow a leaf from here. Don't just assume that because you have a natural attraction eg waterfall, people will start coming there for tourism. You have to make conscious effort to develop/ upgrade that site and make it more attractive. And all these governors should stop building mushroom structures and blowing big cash on commissioning (eg the recent so-called first flyover in Ogun state). Erect standard, beautiful, even futuristic edifices, keep the cities clean, set up good clean marketplaces and recreational parks, and you'll get your tourists.
You all castigating Nigeria, have you guys not heard or seen the Tinapa, obudu resort, azumini blue waters, old residency, war museum, yankari games reserve, etc....We may not be doing grand scale but we are not bereft of ideas either, we can only improve on what we have on ground.
Actress Lola Alao has an advise to single women out there.

She said that if a married man makes you happy, then you should go for it.

“Let me explain something to you; where are the single guys? They are there and not ready to marry.

If the single guys are not ready then the next available option should be taken. I believe one should go for whatever makes one happy.

If a married man is the one that will make you happy, please go for it. I know married women would be angry with me but it is the truth of the matter.”

What can you say about her words of wisdom, guys?

Do you believe that it is really good for single women to chase married men if single men are not ready to marry them?

Please feel free to share your thoughts on this matter.

http://ireporterstv.co/if-a-married-man-makes-you-happy-please-go-for-it-lola-alao/
It is called perception. People may differ and castigate, but she made her point and holds those views as hers. No amount of ranting or abuses will change that fact. Another hard-nosed fact is, married and singles do IT everyday all the time, irrespective of people's vituperations in here.

A few things i'd like to observe:

1.It is clear that the law is an ar*se.
2.Secondly, the law presumes all innocent until proven guilty
3.THirdly, if this were to be in Nigeria, people that do not understand the technicalities of law will come to NL and inslut the lawyers and the judiciary
4.Fourthly, whether in Nigeria or elsewhere, Police prosecutors can goof (imagine the crime of Roux)
5.Fifthly, i am not opinionated on what happened, i will rely on evidence as may be concluded through investigation
6.Finally, If he is guilty, may he be so found, else let no innocent man be killed. Better to free 10 guilty men than to kill a single innocent man.

Wrong. If the former, he will spend time, come out and become useless to society, if the later, he will continue on a journey to eternity. Either way, he is still travelling.
