NigeriaKitchen: To u ladies, if truly u have made up ur mind to find love on nairaland, and u have shown ur pic and the guys find u attractive, forget his pic, look at his character and personality.

Don't go falling for a guy cos of his handsome looks if u truly want to date or marry a man that will give u joy and make u proud. If he is handsome n has good personality n character, that's an added advantage, but don't let his looks deceive u to avoid future regrets.

Great men don't care much abt their looks, they care more about being great and making wave financially n otherwise.
You are an imp. Beauty is not and has never been synonymous with poverty. Go ahead and resemble 'Bance', no Nigerian babe will look at you twice with all the money in this world. We've got class and that is the truth.

Y'll make me snigger, really. I did not attend any of these your fancy universities. My university grounded me thoroughly in my course which later became my profession, i earn good money, hold down a decent job and I am respected for what the institution inculcated in me. I stand tall amongst my contemporaries and i will not compare what my University bestowed on me in terms of academic excellence to what Unilag did to in the name of acquiring a Masters Degree. Yes, I mean UNICAL. I remain a Malabite both in this world and the one beyond

Jarus: World Cup Semi Final As Next Target - Before The Gas Runs Out

It is common knowledge that football form, especially for national teams, is in cycle.

A time to be at the peak, a time to begin to descend and a time to be at lowest ebb and a time to recover. And the cycle continues.

From 1990 to 1994, Nigeria's Super Eagles gradually moved up the form ladder, reached peak between 1994 - 1996, began to decline from 1998 and banked on pedigree to stil remain force to reckon with between 1998 - 2004, with the retirement of key players between after 2004, the team struggled between 2004 to 2012. Now back on its feet.

Ghana, Egypt, Senegal, Cameroun also went through the cycle at different times.

At Nigeria's peak between 1994 - 1996, Nigeria won AFCON 94 and Olympic 96.
At Senegal's peak between 2001 - 2002, they got to AFCON 2002 final and quarterfinals at world cup
At Ghana's peak between 2006 - 2010, they got to AFCON 2010 final and world cup quarterfinal, almost thru to semis

This is Nigeria's peak again, since the decline after 1994-96, we have AFCON already, can we stun at world cup by getting to or close to semi final like Senegal/Ghana, before the decline sets in again?
The scenario painted here is true of product life cycle. A football team well managed need not go through the same cycle. All any country needs is to always keep a pool of talents to be trained and brought in to replace tired legs. It is only when a country or a football team allows itself to be exhausted with no plan for replacements that they come down the high pinacle of success. The team we have now can still be a team A, while a Team B and even Team C is put in place and gradually groomed to take over with the passage of time. Have you ever wondered why Brazil has never missed attending the world cup? In Nigeria we will never do the right things because there is money to be made from failure. If Keshi had failed, they would have contracted foreign coaches and started sharing pounds and dollars with that one. I have since given up on this silly contraption call NFF and their parents Nigeria. I hail the super Eagles though for silencing critics.

Nairaland General › Re: Motorized Patrol On Lagos-ibadan Express. No Overtaking by hardbody: 5:21pm On Feb 08, 2013
Something needs to be done about our road speeds. I just drove on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway today and fully loaded commercial (rickety) busses were passing me as if I wasn't moving. Meanwhile I was doing 100km/hr! Our roads are even not in great shapesm
As much as I don't know how effecitve this method will be, something has definitely got to be done!
100km/h on the express is snail speed. if you are driving a small car, you should be doing 120km/h. I do as high as 180km/h and still get to the eastern parts late in the evening or night.

On post, it will take just one vehicle to overtake those rickety FRSC cabins for that traffic build up ploy to scatter. Even a blind man can feel the traffic build and frustration on that road, besides, when robbers latch in on the slow movement and attack, the FRSC men will scamper and leave the innocent road users to their fate. This country is so messed up. The people coming out with these ideas are people who have been driven on specific western roads where cars really speed, the autobahn.

We as a nation think through our ar*ses

gparker: Ok first of all who is Patrick Obahiagbon? Don't know him and I don't want to know him, your ex's ITK (I too know) attitude plus big & unnecessary grammar is the reason why I can't stand lawyers and to think I'm a lawyer myself wink well I don't practice and I don't care much for that profession it was a gross mistake on my part.

Anyway back to you, sorry for deviating I think you should send your cv sending the resume doesn't mean you've accepted to take her back. If someone offers you help that doesn't involve you doing anything indecent or illegal please take it.

Now if you eventually get a job through her mum just continue to make clear your stance on your relationship with her and keep the entire family at arms length while being respectful from a distance. That means no more attending birthday bashs or family gatherings of any kind, please also express your gratitude for the job (if you get it) but getting up close & personal with any family member is a big no.

Now while you are on the job do your work diligently & ethically, be an honest employee build healthy relationships at the work place with colleagues & superiors whom you can use as refernces in your next job if the need ever arises. Strive to ensure you are found with no faults so even if your ex's mother wants to sabotage you for any reasons it would be glaring to all that it's a witch hunt.

I want to believe this girl and her family are sane people who won't go after you viciously if you refuse to date her afterwards.
You wrote well, but i challenge your claim that you are a lawyer. It is not true sir. you are not one, neither by calling nor by orientation

I was driving and had just made a u-turn at Road safety when a car driving from teh same direction i was coming from (but now very opposite me on the other side of the road) splashed through the poodle and i got some of teh raised splash sitting on my own driving seat. I was not wound up because it had just stopped raining and the weather was cold. Interestingly i had an interview that day, needless to say, the interview did not go well. Whether it had to do with my mood, i cannot now explain. This is because, the dirt did not show as i had worn my suit to cover the shirt. (The suit was as usual hanging behind me in front of the back seat and that window was wound up.

As a person, i take care to slow down when i approach pedestrians and notice there is a poodle around them. I know i walked before i started driving and everyone who is hard working will someday buy and own their cars.
Sports › Re: NFF Thanks T.B Joshua For Eagles Victory by hardbody: 6:58pm On Feb 05, 2013
Top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation have conveyed their deep-rooted appreciation to Prophet T.B. Joshua of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations for what they described as his special support for the national team, Super Eagles leading up to Sunday’s 2-1 defeat of the hitherto dreaded star-studded Elephants of Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals of the on-going Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Prior to the epic encounter on Sunday in Rustenburg, South Africa, the Super Eagles were merely given an outside chance to prevail over the Elephants who were loaded to the brim with superstar players including Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure.

But Stephen Keshi’s team who went inot the game as underdogs, stunned thw orld including with a magnificent display of amazing skills, grit and team play, to edge their West African neighbours out of the tournament at the quarter-finals stage.

Apparently on cloud nine, Nigeria Football Federation top brass and Coordinator of the Super Eagles, Emmanuel Atta was lavish with encomiums on Prophet T.B. Joshua for what he described as “his wonderful role in the 2-1 defeat of Ivory Coast”.

Moments after the encounter, Attah sent out sms text messages to The “Synagogue Man of God” thanking him for standing solidly behind the Eagles in the game against Ivory Coast.

“We’re very appreciateive of him. He was wonderful and we can’t thank him enough,” Attah screamed excitedly.

“T.B. Joshua was fervent in his prayers for the team. We observed all that he asked us to do, starting from a day before the game. This is a special victory for the team and the nation and we cannot thank God enough.”

Attah also expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support and prayers for the senior national team. He assured that with more of such support, the Eagles will continue to work hard in order to make Nigerians happy.

http://vibeghana.com/2013/02/05/nff-thanks-tb-joshua-for-cote-divoire-win/
This is BS and you guys are massive eediots. Where was Tuberculosis Joshua when we were struggling in the opening games? was he not a 'prophet' all the while we did not qualify for major competitions and when we qualified could not go far? This is one of the reasons God will probably get angry and turn his back against your mediocre and vascillating team. How does the effort in the course of the footbal game amount to prayers by TB? If the guys were lackadaiscical (dont care about that spelling)in their game with CIF as they were in their previous matches, your stuupid brain tells you that they will have come out unscathed because of TB's prayers? What a nation and its inhabitants. I give up on Nigeria
