There's not necessarily anything he could have done about Nwafor and Awkuzu SARS, because as governor he would have believed that they were simply using their unconventional methods to deal with the equally vicious and demon-possessed armed robbers and kidnappers disturbing Anambra at that time. My only concern is that in the specific case of the owner of Upper Class Hotel, after discovering that the man was innocent and unjustly persecuted, and his hotel... His livelihood, hastily destroyed, Peter Obi did not deem it fit to consider restitution... To compensate the man for the grave injustice he suffered. That is unacceptable. |
Akiliogidi:Knowing that is the more reason why he should have made provisions to avoid this sort of occurrence when designing the house. I'm not sure the very best engineering expertise in the world is required to achieve that. Problem is that most of us Nigerians who stumble on money are terrible money miss roads. |
I'm not even surprised by Obiano's evil complicity. He has always looked evil and the drunk animal would get what he deserves soonest. I am more disgusted by the 'saintly' forming Peter Obi. Disgusted that a man who purports to be a staunch Catholic and a God fearing man could be so cold hearted to avoid compensating a man whose hotel was unjustly demolished by the state government under his watch. I understand that he might have been misled into hastily demolishing the property, but having realised the grave error, he should have compensated the man to the fullest extent. Ignoring to do so and leaving the poor man to his fate is the height of unconscionable wickedness. If we're looking for leaders with empathy, this kind of example isn't a good fit. Peter Obi just lost a fan. |
His children are cursed already. To the 10th generation. |
Even the 'founder' realises that SARS is bad news. Yet some miserable animals still prefer to link yahoo boys to the anti SARS agitations. We are talking about a unit created and designated to fight armed robbers specifically, which then deviated ENTIRELY to EXTORTING (not even apprehending) suspected yahoo boys, and then subsequently extorting anyone at all they encounter. But some frustrated idiots somehow insist on reducing the discourse about an Anti-Robbery Squad to yahoo boys. As if we don't have other agencies whose mandate is to tackle cyber crime. I can't blame Mr. Kwajafa or anyone else behind the origins of SARS. SARS as we knew it was an essential unit. I have to emphasize ESSENTIAL. They should exist to tackle violent crime in terms of reacting to distress calls and such. . What I simply don't understand is how such a unit reduced itself to a useless bunch of extortionists mounting checkpoints, and looking for yahoo boys (at first) and later anybody at all to extort. It is a big shame. |
Ehen. After all he is part of the Alausa landlords. Gbogbo African Shrine. |
Yep. Hope those bastard SARS on that road (the Benin bypass) have long been dislodged. Who has travelled through that route recently? Abeg tell us of those animals are still there in whatever guise. |
LukasPodolski:Whose fault is it that you are illiterate? Maybe I should have written in Arabic. Tebliq oshi. Quote me again if you delight in talking to yourself. Bloody flotsam. |
Alaye. We know say you innocent for the matter. Ride on. Oluomo 2023. Best choice for Alausa Roundhouse. Lagos deserves you. |
LukasPodolski:E pain am. Mumu. Abdulrasaq-ish kind of Afonjaic Islamic mofos making things difficult for the rest of civilised Nigerians and yet forming loudmouth. Soberly own your congenital misplacement and quietly seek a way out rather than mouth off rubbish. |
amanzejude:Exactly. |
Are they abokki or are they 'like South'? I don't really understand where Kwara stands. But sha, I'll cut them some slack since the governor is identifying with the cause. |
TheGoodJoe:And he also played his part in foisting the disastrous Buhari regime on Nigeria, which invalidates whatever 'sacrifices' he might have made in the past. For that he will never be forgiven, he will die in infamy. Like anyone else who supported or facilitated Buhari's emergence in 2015 and re-rigging in 2019. Forgiving these types of people would be a mortal sin. Anyone who played a part in foisting this unprecedented Buhari plague on the country deserves the worst fate possible. |
Now some of you can finally start to understand the rationale for my proposing a Republic of Southern Nigeria as a viable and pragmatic alternative to the Biafra, Oduduwa Republic etc agitations. Southern Nigeria is enough because all of us in the south are essentially the same - with same Liberal, enlightened outlook. The Islamist North is the problem and has always been the problem. So backwards and primitive, so hopelessly idiotic in all their doings... Cut them off and the South would quickly become a Beacon of hope and development for Africa. |
Although Soludo seems quite cerebral and eloquent, with a decent record as CBN governor, I'm not quite sure what he has been doing with himself throughout the many years since he left the CBN.... Which organisations... Which businesses... Which new ideas has he championed during the almost 15 years or so that he has been out of office? Just wondering. |
Monimatic:Some of them would even resign rather than be reintegrated into regular police work. Having made blood money from their extortion operations, many even richer than the so-called yahoo boys they lust after, I'm not sure they can return to normal police duty again. Useless idiots. |
We're making good progress. |
Okuda:Don't mind those godforsaken idiots. Their own fathers are so useless that they have shamelessly adopted a discredited crook like Tinubu as their 'by force' father. When they were running their mouths on Jonathan, they didn't know how to respect elders. But when it comes to this thief called Tinubu, they will suddenly remember their dubious 'home training' and remind you of the need to worship him because he is as old as Methuselah. Awon omo ale. |
leisuretym:It's actually that simple. Check their account balances and that alone would tell you all you need to know. These bastards are not businessmen or self-employed people whose potential income have no cap. We know their legitimate salaries and allowances. Let them explain some transactions in their accounts and how they acquired the assets they own.. No need to explain in fact. Bastards. |
Jacqueline22:She ke? Would you agree to bath naked with 'her' in a ladies bathroom? |
Naajjii:I don't appreciate being quoted by fools with subpar IQ. If you cannot invalidate my argument; if you can't challenge my opinion by offering a coherent counter argument, then don't quote me with stupid one liners. |
FriendNG:So would you rather be robbed/kidnapped by armed gangs or be scammed? In other words, would you prefer the millions of hopeless and frustrated youth across Nigeria who found financial solace and emancipation in yahoo yahoo rather deploy their energies to armed robbery instead. If every yahoo boy converts his laptop into 'physical ammunition' such as AK47 and heads out with the same determination, would you even be alive to type this rubbish? Some of you are perhaps too dense and mentally incapacitated to think deeply and holistically, hence the very shallow and senseless assertions you make. It's one thing to condemn fraud and yahoo boys if you like, but comparing it to armed robbery and violent crime is absolutely preposterous and foolish. Until you experience it (if you manage to survive), you should never be qualified to utter such rubbish. |
Lordsagna:Identifying with the movement is a big statement on her part already. Change is here. |
TA4TA4:Boko Haram and bandits etc, plus entire army, police, etc.. Their population no reach 1 million. I'm sure. Imagine if 10 million determined Nigerians march onto Aso Rock. Just say Nigerians are not ready. If only a small percentage of Nigerians are ready, then you will understand why no military can defeat its own people. |
Xisnin:You know everything about government. Yet you did not use other examples... Egypt... Tunisia.. Libya... You are clueless. |
daddytime:Tipping point, man. Tipping point. There is something called tipping point. It could be the smallest thing. But it is the trigger. The last straw that broke the camel's back. It is bad enough that the Buhari regime is useless, dreadful and calamitous. Bad economy, insecurity and everything. But if a unit of the police is adding insult to injury by indiscriminately harassing and extorting ordinary Nigerians trying to make ends meet. People hustling and trying to help themselves in spite of the government, and yet units of the police are extorting them of their sweat, then that is the last straw. That is the tipping point. Wise regimes recognize it and address it rapidly before it snowballs into something bigger than the regime. Before it leads to regime change. |
We're making progress. I can smell it. ENDSARS doesn't have to be scrap SARS. Just get them off the streets. They should only come out when there is a distress call for armed robbery or kidnapping, ONLY. Nothing more, nothing less. That is likely to happen, and that would be enough. Meanwhile, who has travelled through the Lagos-Benin-Asaba axis lately? Are those SARS fools still running their illegal checkpoint on that expressway? |
One must have very limited sense to be lumping fraud with violent crimes such as armed robbery and kidnapping in the context of SARS. If SARS - Special Anti ROBBERY Squad - is scrapped, there would be an increase in the rate of fraud, according to you. Does this make sense to you? What is the correlation between a special anti robbery squad and fraud? Soon you will deploy Road Safety officers or even the Nigerian Army to abandon their lawful duties and start pursuing perceived fraudsters. This kind of skewed and idiotic conflation of responsibilities is central to the endsars agitation. Nobody has shouted end EFCC. It is the role of the EFCC to tackle fraudsters. Nobody has equally shouted Endsars because they have been tackling armed robbers and kidnappers. If they had concentrated on fighting armed robbers and kidnappers only (which is their ONLY LAWFUL responsibility), there would be no Endsars agitation today. Think about it slowly and carefully so that you would not make stupid assertions. |
It is truly sad and a reflection of how disorganised things are in Nigeria that a discussion about the excesses of 's Special Anti ROBBERY Squad is somehow deflected to focus on perceived Internet fraudsters. |
