delpee:That's not true. Like Fashola, Ambode was completely unknown before Tinubu plucked him out of his dirty nose and threw him at hapless Lagosians. Ambode is a complete and undeniable slave to Tinubu; he was created by Tinubu and owes his 100% allegiance to Tinubu. On the other hand, Jimi Agbaje is a self-made man who has been well known and well loved by Lagosians since 2007. He only needed a big and strong platform like the PDP, and that platform was provided by Jonathan (not necessarily Bode George) based on numerous reports the president was receiving about Agbaje's popularity with the masses. The president considered him an asset to the PDP and duly asked Bode George and Co to do the needful.. To that extent the likes of Bode George and Ogunlewe are merely vessels used to bring the masses wish to fruition. They did not 'create' the phenomenon known as Jimi Agbaje and they cannot claim to be his godfathers or masters in any way. The masses created Jimi Agbaje, and so the masses are his real Godfathers - to whom he owes all allegiance. That's a wonderful thing if you ask me. |
For how long will the Military continue this defensive approach of sitting back and waiting for the terrorists to attack before repelling them and then wait for the next attack. Why not be proactive instead by taking the battle to them where ever it is they are domiciled? |

“We know that they may have a few challenges with the English language; so, if they like they can even conduct the debate in vernacular: we would be prepared to pay for a translator or an interpreter just so that they could understand the proceedings. "Hahahahahahahaha! Buhari, you see your life? |
Why the emphasis on 1984? I hope this is not a subtle suggestion that life was better when Buhari was head of state than now? Lol. Anyways, throughout the 1970s and 1980s things were really great as out parents achieved a whole lot when they were quite young. Even in final year in the university, they already had numerous job offers. In their first year of working, they were given cars and could afford to rent decent apartments. Too bad things have deteriorated progressively since the 1990s. |
Dasini:In a sane society, would characters like Danjuma own oil blocs? In sane societies, would characters like Buhari (a certified coup plotter who illegally overthrew a democratically elected government) be a presidential candidate in a democratic era? |
This Okene axis is always a problem. Sorry man. May God never allow us witness these things. But I think they were mere Fulani robbers, not Boko Haram. Otherwise they would have slaughtered everybody. |
Great news. Someone please help me book an appointment with this phenomenonal police officer called Mbu. Tell him I need an autograph! A man like him is just what we need in Lagos, to put the pig headed and exploitative goons of Tinubu and the APC in check. |
Nigerians can bastardise things. Now every Tom, diick, harry, and mgbeke must buy G Wagon to belong. |
balash:Some of you have comprehension problems. Personally, though both are bad, I would never compare petty drug dealing to heinous violent crimes such as armed robbery - that explains the wide disparity in jail terms and social stigma between both crimes in any civilised part of the world. That's why prominent people and even rappers like Jay-Z can brag about their past as drug dealers and yet society empathises with them. Who has ever bragged about being an armed robber? But that is besides the point. The issue here is: Can you not see that drug trafficking was not a capital offence (if you know what that means) when Owoh and the others committed the offence? Where in the civilised world are laws implemented retroactively? Buhari came in and used his fanatical Islamic prejudices and thirst for blood to execute these innocent young men based on a law that did not exist when they committed the crime. That is the key issue here, and it shows that Buhari is a lawless brute driven by fanatical Islamic intolerance who has no place in a democratic society guided by the Rule of Law. |
America's interest in Saudi Arabia transcends oil (which is admittedly a big factor). They need a stable and committed ally in that troubled region to maintain a firm grip there. KSA also needs the USA's protection against its enemies in the middle east.. . Not to mention the new threat posed by ISIS. When two parties are engaged in such mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship, strict rules are bound to be relaxed and differences in values overlooked. |
The senile old thief should go and arrest them na. I'm sure he is motivated by concerns over his illicit oil wealth and nothing more. A worse fate awaits him than what he and his Northern gang did to Aguiyi Ironsi. |
Funny thread. Conglomeration of failed Internet propagandists and hungry APC party hirelings peddling ridiculous lies. Jimi Agbaje is the people's choice, come rain or shine. This is a foregone conclusion that is settled both on Earth and in Heaven. |
This noise maker is just jealous and bitter that she was not given any post by this government, and her reaction is to stay in the limelight by constituting herself into a nuisance. Shameless old woman who has never been able to conceal her deep-seated envy of Okonjo Iweala. |
Obiagelli:And what would you say about Kayode's shameless lie that Boko Haram is in control of 20 local governments in Borno State? That blatant, almost criminal lie alone shows the stuff he is made of. The fact that all of you APC goons (and some of the fake 'neutral' commenters here) have conveniently ignored this and other lies/unverifiable claims peddled by Kayode in the debate shows that you're a bunch of jokers. |
fallout87:Thank you VERY much. Idiots who feel intimidated and oppressed by virtue of their own inability to measure up. They tend to resort to showing disdain for others' superiority. |
The Ogundamisi guy was just more loud-mouthed and coarse. His voice sounded very grating to the ears most times. . . . Throwing fictitious claims all over the place. APC members and their supporters have a characteristic aggressive/belligerent streak, so I am not surprised. On the other hand, the AyeDee guy was clearly more intelligent, composed, self-assured in a calm manner, articulate, and penetrative in his responses. Unfortunately, he was often shouted down/interrupted by the other garrulous fellow with a little help from the biased Sahara TV presenter. AyeDee's response to the "what would you want GEJ to do differently" question was masterful. He made it clear that, look, the president is on track and has put several important mechanisms in place - with results expected to start manifesting in due course. You can't talk about doing things differently when my argument is that he has been doing things right all along. To do things differently would mean that he had been doing the wrong things previously, which is not the case. |
Johnjack:Haba, bros why na. This is not fair. That word "stark" makes the illiteracy seem worse than virulent madness. Just pity the Abokki call am only illiterate. No add "stark" join am.... ![]() |
Dsage1:The likes of Atiku and Tambuwal are LIBERAL Muslims because their antecedents, family/personal ties, relationships, and public utterances do not portray them as extremists. On the other hand, Buhari's antecedents are replete with Islamic extremism.. . . From his promise in 2001 to work for the full implementation of Sharia across Nigeria, to his numerous public utterances that indicate his diabolical thirst for Christian blood (dogs and baboons). |
Christianity would be better off for it if deviants like you who support terrorists and uneducated Islamic fanatics weed themselves out. We don't need cold-blooded Jihadists in our peaceful midst. |
I'm sure she cannot claim that this is more than what she bargained for. |
ITbomb:The Amaechi vs. Omehia case is slightly different. Remember the issue at stake was who won the primaries. Amaechi claimed that he won the primary and was wrongfully substituted with Omehia. Besides the opposition parties were not party to the suit (very important distinction). It was an intra-PDP affair, and Amaechi was lucky to get the relief he sought. In Buhari's case, the party knowingly fielded him (his candidacy was never in doubt or challenged in the court) in spite of his ineligibility (this would make the case a PDP vs. Buhari vs APC suit). I think the PDP would ask that the election be annulled as a consequence, and they would have a very good case. Perhaps other lawyers need to contribute their views on this matter in case this hypothetical situation arises. |
Supplanting Buhari is certainly Tinubu's endgame. However he would not get that opportunity because Buhari would not win the election to begin with. And in the extremely unlikely event that Buhari manages to win, any legal issues arising from the certificate saga that nullifies Buhari's eligibility can only benefit Jonathan and the PDP, since a fresh election would have to be organised. |
A liberal Northern Muslim presidential candidate like Atiku or even Tambuwal would have been ideal for the APC. The election would have been more issues-based and not overly based on radical ethno-religious considerations as is the case with a proven Jihadist like Buhari. |
His response suggests that the rumours might be true after all. Adversity tends to make ordinarily frivolous people wax philosophical. |
The key issue here is that Buhari lied under oath. He swore that his certificate was with the Military, only for the Military to refute that claim. The other points are not really important. Perjury is the issue here, and if any Buhari supporter can convince us that Buhari did not commit perjury, I will be extremely impressed. An experienced politician like Buhari who is running for president surely has a panoply of aides, assistants and advisers. He should know that it is not acceptable for a man to swear an oath in court based on assumptions “all along.” Oaths are sworn as certification that what is said is true. Truth is not amenable to assumptions. Section 118 of the Nigerian criminal code reads: “ Any person who commits perjury is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.” This is the fate that must now befall Muhammadu Buhari who must not be allowed to be above the law.Full stop. |
LFJ:You Buhari supporters are extremely daft and irritating. I mean, what is all this rubbish you are spewing instead of addressing the issues raised by the author of the article? You talk blah blah blah and manage to avoid the MAIN issues. Does that not indicate a shortage of common sense? If you (and the other intellectually challenged Buharists on this thread) have even an atom of sense, at least attempt to disprove the claim that Buhari committed perjury. Provide a superior argument in his defence with regard to this certificate issue and associated matters. If you can't do this, then by all means SHUT THE FVCK UP. |
All these unfit Nigerian 'big men' men and their hefty stomachs. Imagine this one doing push ups. He can't even do two to save his own life. |
Good. I never thought that I would ever approve of Sharia, but I endorse this particular action 100%. |
This means that Jonathan has won Oyo State. Hands down, no questions asked. |
hatbricker:Tomorrow, when a suitor shows up to marry your daughter, and people are telling you about his past record of armed robbery, violent occultism, and serial rape, feel free to shut them up and concentrate on the suitor' s current pretensions. Give your daughter to that armed robber, occultist, and rapist suitor regardless of his past records. |
Is that an aki and paw paw kind of 'young man' or a real under 10 kid? |

Personally, I'm tired of hearing Buhari dis Buhari that? Market ur own product, tell us what you have for us, stop talking about what happened in the '80s.
