PoliticsRe: Tinubu Demands Oil Blocks, Speaker, Finance, Petroleum, Justice And Aviation. by hedonistic: 10:39am On Jan 27, 2015
Tinubu's greed is legendary and unprecedented, so there is nothing improbable about this report.

Tinubu solely ensured that Buhari emerged as the presidential candidate. Without Tinubu's manipulations, if Buhari had been left to his own devices, Atiku or Kwankwaso would have easily clinched the APC ticket.

Tinubu is a major financier of Buhari's campaign. He has unlimited funds to play around with, and so much of the campaign funding Buhari now has flows from sources associated with Tinubu.

If you consider all these factors, and knowing Tinubu's antecedents, you would realise that he is not doing this simply because he likes Buhari's face or because of Nigerians. He is preparing to become richer than Dangote IF Buhari manages to win the election.

2015. Politicians in the West seem to believe that human heads would help them win elections. I don't really understand why this primitive belief persists among politicians in this part of Nigeria.

It's funny how some people will always act as if them smart and they are clueless.

Something that has been decided already.

Smh for Una.

No go claim your votes where it counts.
What has been decided? Decided by who - one useless Godfather in Ikoyi and his boy-boy Oba or the masses? Maybe you mean that APC has perfected its plan to rig the election... So votes wouldn't count anymore?

If that's what you think, then get ready for the shock of your life. You want to rig against the full machinery of the PDP-controlled Federal Government even when their candidate is the masses' preferred choice? What a joke.

If una like Vote for jimi,no matter how large ur population in lagos u are not more than the yorubas
This is a very foolish statement. Is the governorship contest between an Igbo man and a Yoruba man? Are the two leading candidates not both Yoruba men? Or is Ambode more Yoruba than Agbaje? What makes you think that Ambode is the automatic choice of EVERY Yoruba person in Lagos?

Viewed in that context, you would realise that the substantial Igbo bloc vote is crucial because it can be the decider that makes all the difference.
PoliticsRe: President Jonathan And Comedian Bovi Smile At Each Other (Photo) by hedonistic: 8:42am On Jan 25, 2015
Mr. President's simplicity and down-to-earth charm is so endearing. With all the abundant power and majesty associated with his position, he manages to look as simple as the uncle next door - with absolutely no air of arrogance. This man has done a lot to mature our democracy and eliminate the outdated notion that only stone-faced and autocratic ex-generals can or should be president. The president is one of us; part of us.

Because of him, subsequent presidents would no longer be viewed as superhuman deities who must be feared and worshipped. That's wonderful for our young democracy!
PoliticsRe: Fashola, Tinubu Begs Igbo For Support. Pics by hedonistic: 8:13am On Jan 25, 2015
Ndigbo will give their bloc votes to Jimi Agbaje and the PDP in Lagos state. No doubt about that. You can go round the Igbo dominated areas in Lagos and sample opinions.

Any Igbo person resident in Lagos that votes for the tribalistic and obnoxious APC is undoubtedly a complete bastard and should verify his or her true paternity.

Maple:
Another lie. After witnessing what Yar'adua did to Boko Haram in Maiduguri, the militants had no choice but to seek for amnesty. They reckoned; If this man (Yar'adua) could massacre thousands of his fellow northerners in Maiduguri, what he'll do to us if we dont seek for peace could be worse.

What people lik you did not know was that Yar'adua heavy handedness in dealing with Boko Haram during their first insurrection in Maiduguri, was to send a message to the Niger Delta militants...and fortunately for them, they understood the message.
Tales told by a drunkard.

These noise makers think war is easy.Ijaw people are few in number that it will not take any serious effort to wipe them away. When it starts now, this bearded clown will run to Benin leaving the poor to perish.Nonsense.
So in other words, an entire ethnic group should be "wiped away" merely because you Abokki people cannot wait for four more years (2019) to reclaim control over their oil resources via the presidency? Because you want the power now now, even if it means wiping out the entire Ijaw nation?

Sometimes I wonder how people reason. If you cannot afford to wait for only four more years and allow the minority Ijaw to maximise their time in power (which they are unlikely to witness again in the next 50 years), then you should go your seperate way and establish your own country or hook up with your brothers in Niger Republic or Chad. Why is this so hard for you people to do? Why must you insist on forcing yourself on others and leeching off them in the name of one Nigeria?

You are pathetic, South east align with south south, you are a joker! I suggest you learn from the elders the history of bitterness between the South East Igbos and the South South, it is because of this division that both greoups remain a minority!
Mr. Pathetic, you don't know history more than I do. Who is talking about the mutual distrust that EXISTED between both groups before, during, and shortly after the Biafra War era? Besides, what exactly is your point. . . . .is it that the South East would rather support the North than the South South if it comes down to it?

In the peculiar geo-politics of Nigeria, current interests always outweigh historical misgivings. If Nigeria were to divide into two today - with one half going with the barren, resource-less, and unproductive core North and the other going half going with a Southern region that includes the Niger Delta and it's oil, where do you think the South East would end up? That's essentially the point. It's all about where your interests are best protected.. . . Not about petty misgivings carried over from the 1960s.

Let's see what happens. They will not remember oil ever grow in the Niger Delta.
A word is enough for the wise.
Ijaw people cannot thteathen the whole Nigeria.
And after that, you would run your Abokki government with proceeds from suya, kunu, and groundnuts, right? Some of you need to get your heads out of the clouds.

Besides, don't lump the "whole Nigeria" into your Core Northern/South Western agenda. The good people of the South East will empathise with the Niger Delta if it comes down to it. And we also expect the conscientious people of the Middle Belt and Christian minority North to know where their bread is best buttered if a reconfiguration of the geo-polity becomes inevitable.

I even pray make Buhari enter make we come see how him go shut these guys up! There case go pass Odi own! I am not surprised these bunch of worthless rascals are talking like this, they know that if Jonathan loose all the money he gives to them for doing nothing will stop immediately!
Only ignorant people keep citing this Odi massacre as an example of how OBJ dealt with militants during his tenure. Odi was an unfortunate case of state-sppnsored mass killing and destruction of innocent people and properties. Mostly old men, women, and jobless village youths were affected. How many actual militants were killed or captured in the Odi raid? Zero. Did OBJ successfully contain militancy during his tenure? Capital NO.

It was because of OBJ's woeful failure to address the militancy in the Delta - which caused a massive drop in oil production and income for the government - that Yar Adua was forced to BEG and BRIBE the militants in the name of Amnesty Programme.

If you factor in how much capacity and capabilities the militants have gained between then and now, you would have to be very afraid.

It's not a big deal. Guys would be guys. As long as he is good to your sister and she is cool with him, no problem. Playing with other girls doesnt mean the marriage is troubled.

A friend of mine even chases women with his sister's husband. Society allows men certain liberties as it also allows women certain privileges.

I would have been extremely angry if I had caught my brother's newly wedded wife kissing another man in a club. Same rules don't apply to men and women. Deal with it.
PoliticsRe: Niger Delta Militants Threaten War Should Jonathan Lose Election by hedonistic: 6:05pm On Jan 24, 2015
If the nomads up north and their South Western underlings are using this artificial 'insecurity' created by them to blackmail and bully Jonathan out of office, then one definitely understands the position of the Niger Delta militant commanders.

This whole or. g.y of terrorism and violence in the North has been systematically used to discredit Jonathan's government. In many ways, the election wouldn't be a fair contest if many voters who ordinarily should be swayed by Jonathan achievements in diverse sectors are manipulated to vote for Buhari in the name of insecurity and Boko Haram. That will be difficult to accept.

If that's the case, then the militants would also need to reciprocate the 'gesture' ten-fold in the unlikely event that the North succeeds in installing their jihadist son as president. I guess that's the issue here.

sbaks:
Besides, bode George is NOT his god father as many of you insinuate mtcheeeeew
It is ridiculous for people to suggest that Bode George is Jimi's godfather. We're talking about an accomplished and self-made Jimi that has been running for governor and has been popular with the masses since 2007. If anything, I think Jonathan himself is Jimi's godfather in the sense that he asked the likes of Bode George and Ogunlewe to ensure he wins the primaries since the masses seem to like him a lot.

Besides, unlike Tinubu who handpicked random puppets from nowhere and installs them in office for his personal political and financial gain, Bode George merely bowed to the wishes of the majority of ordinary Lagosians who all wanted Jimi.

We can't say that Bode George had any previous personal ties with Jimi such that makes the latter his 'boy' that he can trust and control as a puppet. If you say he is a godfather, then this is what I will define as populist godfatherism, which means using one's privileged political position to implement the wishes of the ordinary majority. This is a wonderful thing if you ask me. That will make Bode George a hero rather than a villain.

the feedback I have been getting from the grassroots suggests that Jimi is on course to win by a landslide. At least the areas I visit and mingle in frequently (including Festac, Okota, Ajao Estate, Oshodi/Isolo, etc) would go almost 70% to Jimi.

I'm not talking about some middle class wannabes. I mean the real common man in the streets. They all want the APC out. Echoes of Jimi Jimi Jimi are so deafening these days that my eardrums have had enough.

PoliticsRe: FG Will Pay Fuel Subsidy For 40 Days – Alison Madueke by hedonistic: 7:18am On Jan 24, 2015
On why the price of diesel did not respond to the global crash in crude oil prices considering the fact that the product was not subsidised, Alison-Madueke said diesel was not controlled by the government. She said, “Therefore you will find that diesel's response is directly related to the market indices of supply and demand in a free market. It relates directly to whatever cost it is being procured abroad, that is the global prices. So we have no business with that.”
This must be a joke. If this is true, then there is no greater argument against the removal of subsidy than this. Global crude oil prices have crashed, and it is expected that every product derived from crude oil (including diesel) should also witness significant price reductions. If the minister claims that the price of diesel remains high because of "market forces" then that means that a cartel - not "market forces" - decides the price of petroleum products in Nigeria.

So if fuel subsidies are removed tomorrow, Nigerians may never enjoy the benefits of lower fuel prices no matter how low crude oil prices crash. The fuel marketers would simply constitute themselves into a cartel and endlessly rip off consumers in the name of "open market". We don't want that.

Subsidies must remain until sanity is restored in the downstream sector.

It's not about lavish spending. People don't get it. No matter how miserly or frugal you are with money, you will go broke sooner or later unless you continue earning money. As long as nothing is coming in, the stockpile of cash in your possession would be depleted at some point.

D'Banj has not had hit songs for long, which means that he hardly gets shows to perform unlike the likes of Wizkid who have several hit songs and perform many shows every week.

PoliticsRe: PDP Tenders Evidence Buhari's Certificate Is Forged by hedonistic: 8:08pm On Jan 22, 2015
As the saying goes, a liar ought to have a good memory. Unfortunately, in Buhari's case, he cannot remember his own phone number or even the name of his own running mate.

It will be too much to expect him to remember whether or not he wrote the WASC examination over 50 years ago. The only solution is forgery, and he is lucky to have an experienced master forger like Bola Tinubu by his side.

In case you don't know or find it difficult to accept, the population of Igbo residents in Lagos counts in several millions. . . . Of which eligible voters (if you know what that means) among them most likely exceed 5 million. This is an enlightened guess.

this is government intimidation. well it won't last long, it all ends May 29 2015. .GEJ disgraced back to otuoke. maybe he can then go and finish his PHD thesis on cluelessness.
It is the business of the NCC. Did the network seek my permission before running such nonsensical advertisement on my line? Do they care whether I hate the APC and all it represents? This is clearly a ridiculous assertion. Was our army ever alive? Is it not mostly the same crop of soldiers that were employed into the armed forces during OBJ's regime that are still there now? What has changed other than the fact that the Military is facing it's first real test since the civil war (forget the useless peace keeping activities; that's not the same as full-blown war)? It's annoying the way some of you attribute all kinds of phantom achievements and powers to OBJ.
