CSTR12:Shut up Chiamanda was on channel 4 few days ago and she gave a very disappointing interview. The interviewer had to cut her short on live tv and "continue the interview online". She was just talking bullocks on American politics and even went on to admit that she wasn't eligible to vote in the American upcoming elections as she wasn't an American citizen. |
It seems some of the egg heads on this thread have forgotten that Fash is a well trained lawyer and a SAN. He did excellently well in this interview and he is a president in waiting. After Buhari's two term in office, he's taking over and he will rule for two terms. |
No big deal. Fash slayed in this interview. Besides, BBC's hard talk is for the brave. Can't remember lily livered Jonathan ever appearing on it. |
Liftedhands:Thanks mama ekene. |
tyconcepts:Hehehehe hehehehe. What can I do now? When I mentioned lochia to hubby, his response was "ehen. And so? My friend, do you want to stay on top?" ![]() |
iomoge2:For your heartburn, get Trebor or any sweet with mint/methol. It works like a charm. Before and after meal. I suffered from so much heartburn until I discovered the Trebor trick. You've raised some valid points regarding acv in pregnancy. All in all its a good drink and I think an occasional sip won't hurt whilst pregnant. As a first time mum, I was just to scared to try it whilst pregnant as I was scared of miscarriage or preterm labour. However, for next pregnancy, I might have the occasional sip. |
Giddyperson:Hahahahahaahaha. Warrevaaaaa ![]() |

seen it. seems its just one fibroid and its small. My dear, worry not. when mine was discovered, it was 3 small ones. i think the largest was 2mm or so. contraceptives have their side effects so you have to do your own research and decide which one will work best for you -of course with guidance from your doctor. at the time mine was discovered, my doctor suggested oral contraceptives. i then told him i was going to get married in a few months and i was going to try for a baby immediately after the wedding and he told me in that case, he wont suggest i go on the oral contraceptives as they can delay fertility. right now, i use 'natural' family planning method and other times, condoms. when i am done having kids, then i can look into what contraceptive will work best to manage the fibroid. in the mean time, its just a ''siddon look'' approach while i constantly sip on my apple cider vinegar. ![]() |
firsttymum:this is 100% meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. at a point, to console themselves, they reached a conclusion that I am their ''oyinbo wife'' and I have lived abroad for too long, so their ways are not mine. **rolls eyes** |
firsttymum:no, i did not because i wasnt sure if it was safe to use during pregnancy and i was too lazy at the time to research on its safety for pregnant mums. however, i remember reading it on the TTC thread that its safe to use during pregnancy. |
Liftedhands:mama ekene, how much do you honestly think a new mum needs to buy baby things? |
XX01:heheheheheh. when you are hornyyyy, who thinks about lochia if i hear any mama say ''ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. daz disgusting'' eh, ![]() i was more worried about getting pregnant again so quickly. How will i explain to world people that i had another baby 9 months after the first ? ![]() |
Fortius:please get it. that stuff is gooooooooooodddddddd. i am not a fan of all these herbal remedies but this braggs apple cider vinegar is BAE. |
sugah:heheheheheh. racist alert ![]() seriously though, i 100% agree with you. |
iomoge2:quoted for possible future reference. i used to be very skeptical about fibroids removed druring CS as i have heard many stories on women that died as a result until recently. a very good friend of mine had both ovarian cysts and fibroids and both were removed during her CS. when she told me i screamed. in her case, the surgery wanst pre-planned. she had an emergency CS and the doctor was already aware based on her hospital notes that she had cysts and fibroids. after opening her up and bringing out the baby, she saw the cysts and fibroids and on the spot, the doctor decided to have them removed. she however said that the gynaecologist that handled the surgery is one of the best in the field and the other doctors/midwives kept telling her how lucky she was to have the woman around to carry the surgery. my advice - if you are double sure that the doctor is well learned and experienced, then you can have the two procedures done at the same time. however, if you are not sure, please dont risk it. in my own case, nothing was mentioned about my fibroids at all during my CS. maybe they didnt see them or it was of no concern to them which is why i am keen to have a scan done. so fingers crossed till the end of this month. |
christybabe:all these rashes are caused by over dressing/over wrapping a baby. nigeria's weather is really hot and babies do not need layers and layers of clothing. i have mentioned it here that even the woolen hat, i was told to stop wearing it for my son by day 3. in addition to this, my son's bath regime has been this from day 1 - boots baby liquid soap, dettol (specifically bought from nigeria and i do not understand why people claim dettol is too 'strong' for babies. savlon does nada !!), coconut oil for his skin and sebamed shampoo for his hair (introduced at 3 months as i had previously used boots shampoo). till date, he has not had any rash, boil, pimple, cradle cap or anything. i am guessing those drugs are antibiotics and there's really nothing you can do at this stage but to give them to him since the boil is spreading. at one month, he is not too young for drugs, if he's got an infection, it has to be treated with antibiotics which is why mums have to be proactive and be on guard and try as much as possible to stop these infections in the first place. |
Moboz:are you sure you are using original silverbird? get the original silverbird and dilute about a capful of it with coconut or olive oil. then apply the diluted silverbird on her crown. that is, on her head. it works like a charm and clears blocked nose with the nasal drop, use it sparingly as using too much will irritate her nostrils and make the congestion worse. get mentholatum and apply it on her feet before putting her socks on. i wont worry too much about the discharge from her eyes. just wipe it clean gently with a moist cloth. it should clear on its own. if she's being exclusively breast fed, breast feed her often (make sure you are eating well- lots of fruits and vegetables as you pass on essential nutirients to her). if she's not on EBF, then ensure she's being fed the right amount of formula and also about 10ml of warm water once a day |
babythug:babythug, you are laughing. ![]() |
ginababy:please do not use cotton bud ever again. that thing does more harm than good. ear infection just like common cold are some of the things some babies face in their first one year. most times the discharge stops on it own without the use of antibiotics. keep an eye on it for a day or two. if you still notice the discharge, then see your doctor. no, i do not think co-sleeping has anything to do with ear infection. make sure while bathing him that you do not allow water or soap get into his ears. |
enkaydewdrop:pele dear. did they tell you the type of fibroid it is? what about the size? what is the location? i won't worry too much about it. i had the same feeling the first time i was told i had them. as long as they do not affect conception or give you terrible pain, then its more or less a 'see as it goes approach'. i know contraceptives can be prescribed to manage them though but it depends on your doctor's advice. in my case, my doctor was'nt worried about it at all and he proved to be correct as they did not in anyway affect my fertility. try and get braggs apple cider vinegar and drink it often. it helps with fibroids. i have also heard that blackstrap mollasses works as well but i do not know how to use this. you can check with the mums at the TTC thread. i am booked for my first post partum scan at the end of the month (on my request) as i am keen to be see where i am with my fibroids - if they've shrunk or disappeared. they've not given me any pain or issues whatsoever (i drink braggs apple cider regularly) but i will like to know what my uterus is like ![]() |
alhajisocrates:I recommend the Aptamil range of formula.
|
Primark:Emphasis on "Facebook". You never said Instagram. If you want to lift stories, the right thing to do is to ask and obtain consent from individual mums. |
ginababy:Sounds like an infection. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT clean his ears with cotton bud or anything as you can easily puncture his ear drums which can result in deafness. Take him to the hospital and ask the doctor to examine his ears. He might need antibiotics. Do not allow any nurse or doctor clean his ears. |
sugah:As in eh. Maximum and double dose so that she will never try such ever again with any baby that's not hers. This kind person fit breastfeed her grandkids with no remorse when she becomes a grand mum. |
Fortius:Heheheheheheheh. I loff you too Hun ![]() |
faithisallihave:She is fuckingggggg crazy. Seems she's been craving to see how it feels to breast feed a child and saw the perfect opportunity with your child. Tell your husband. Involve your mother in law. Involve your mum too. What nonsense. |
enkaydewdrop:Welcome back. How did your appointment with your doctor go? |
faithisallihave:What da fuccckkkkkkkk!!!!! Please all hell should be let loose. Let your husband handle this and ensure he spits fire. She has absolutely no reason to breast feed. Absolutely no reason at all. Is your baby on formula? What happened to giving her that ? Even ogi (as much as I detest it) would have sufficed for a child that age if they were out of options on what to feed her. |
faithisallihave:1)How did you find out? 2)What was her reason for breastfeeding her? 3)how old is your husband's cousin? 4) how old is your daughter? The answer to these two questions will determine the best approach to deal with this case. . . . Inlaws . . . . Causing katakata and passing their boundaries since 1890 ![]() |
mitchyy:Lol. It's the frustration/lack of patience that comes from the pressure of handling a crying and hysterical baby as a totally inexperienced lady. It's the same frustration that leads to psychos (some of the them are actually the baby's parent) shaking a baby vigorously just to calm them down and which then leads to the brain bleeding and further health challenges down the line (Google shaken baby syndrome). |
comtem2011:Of course not. Duh! Please I'm tired of typing on the issue. My point is clear - do not leave a baby alone with anyone (whether friend or foe, experienced or not) without clear instructions on what should be done if the baby starts crying or becomes cranky. |
