enkaydewdrop:If he's having the immunisation for meningitis, give him 2.5ml Of paracetamol at least an hour before he takes the immunisation. Subsequently doses is 4-6 hours c 2.5ml of paracetamol |
cutie999:I use avent bottles (7 bottles) and avent 3 in 1 steam steriliser. (Pictures attached) In addition to these seven bottles, the steriliser is large enough to accommodate a baby's feeding bowls, spoons, sippy cup, et al once they move to solids. It's also pretty quick as it sterilises in 5-6 minutes and it works using a standard generator in nigeria. I have used it every single day for the past 11months and it has proven to be durable. Personally, I'm not a fan of sterilising tablets and fluids. Even when I travel - whether long or short trips, I pack the steriliser with me.

opella:All shades of wrong What will happen if he breaks or smashes something like a cup? Ask him to pick pin ![]() There are techniques for TEACHING/CORRECTING a child that age certain things and spanking IS NOT one of them. |
tyconcepts:Any brand will do as long as it's organic rice. Personally, I buy aptamil's baby rice. Cow and gate's baby rice is also available. |
tyconcepts:Have you tried grounded baby rice? Baby rice tastes bland and since he doesn't like sweet things, you can easily prepare baby rice with scoops of milk. |
lirusehn:Continuously. |
lirusehn:Good. Get onions and grate it to get the "juice" from it. Apply it on your face and leave for some few minutes before washing it away. Onion has healing properties on burn injuries. |
lirusehn:you are most welcome darling. next time, stay clear of pressure cookers and never force one open. i know 100% how these cookers work. the hunger in you could'nt wait for the pressure to subside, hence why you forced it open. it has nothing to do with starch. i cook all sorts with a pressure cooker including cow leg, shaki, etc. anyway, what are you applying on your face to minimise the scarring? honey? coconut oil? |
sayoddy, why not chill and wait till 6 months before introducing solids? you are almost there and less than 2 months away from the 6months mark. at 6 months, the organs are more developed, better head control, he can sit in a high chair and so are baby's pincer movements, eye coordination, taste buds, etc. |
haibe:yes, he is very stupiddd and he has the audacity to make a joke out of it. he should be on his knees thanking God that he didnt lose an eye or suffer 3rd degree burns. |
MadCow1:exactly. he is extremely lucky. i have a scar on my leg till date just because i stood beside a pressure cooker as a kid when the cover was about to be opened. the steam burnt my leg and the burn mark is still there. my mum also packed away all her pressure cookers and refused to use them for yearsssssssssssss. the versions made these days are much better. there is no way you can open the pot until the presssure within has subsided. so this poster is extremely foolish to have forced the pot open. i can just imagine all the energy he put into forcing the pot open. he is scarred for life. the burn mark will remain on his face. |
foolishness at its peak in fact, you are a very stupiddd boy. how can anyone in their right senses force open a pressure cooker? you are VERY lucky that you sustained 'mild' injuries. very very lucky. |
zicoraads:At all . It seems most of these posters are young and do not know about his sex scandal. I'm just amused on how people can "wish" they had their marriage and celebrate a man with wandering preek who was busy bleeping upandan while he's wife was working with obasanjo and he also had the audacity to part away with $200,000 hush money. How dumb can a man be ![]() |
zicoraads:Yet he had an affair with a much younger female nurse, was caught having sex with her in the hospital car park and paid over $200,000 blackmail money to his lover's boyfriend before reporting himself to his wife, Ngozi and the FBI. ![]() http://www.naijarules.com/index.php?threads/dr-ngozi-iwealas-husband-in-sex-scandal.20665/ http://www.ekiti.com/ekitinews/default.php?news_source=&news_id=2573

Aim07:Her meal choices aren't bad but there's must be something responsible for the constipation. It's either the cerealac (it's quite sugary) or the formula. Stop the cerealac and continue with the water melon and water and see if there are any changes. If none, then try another formula brand. |
zaynie:Yes na. |
Jokers !! |
Xyzaid:Abi ooooooooooooo Nigerians and sentiment. |
The ram fighting scene at the start of the video is so uneccesary. NO to animal cruelty. |
ideylaff:To be honest, I do not care about her rocnation deal. Rocnation or not, Tiwa is still and will always be a first class act. Time will tell if there will be any benefits from the deal. Who knows, she could be involved in a duet with another top rocnation act. |
ideylaff:Exactly. Many uninformed people on this thread. BAD is actually my favourite track on the RED album. I always have it on repeat on Spotify. The song was done wayyyyyyyyyy before her public issues with Tblizz so I do not understand why people are saying the song is a shade to him. Lovely song. The video could have been better though. I have been looking forward to the video and I was almost tempted to sign up for Tidal. I'm disappointed to be honest. That said, it's still a massive track and I hope it gets all the AirPlay it deserves. I hope she does a video for "key to the city". That's another track with potential to blow if there's a video. "Adura" is another song with potential to blow and also appeal to the older folks. A video should be considered for that too.

MadCow1:Exactly. I wonder why none of the other posters on this thread have said nothing about the doctors involved in her delivery. They are solely to blame for her death. |
Wasn't her husband involved in a major adultery scandal some few years ago? He was caught having sex or so with a nurse at a hospital car park. Lol. The lady also extorted money from him. http://www.ekiti.com/ekitinews/default.php?news_source=&news_id=2573 http://www.naijarules.com/index.php?threads/dr-ngozi-iwealas-husband-in-sex-scandal.20665/

LegitDiva:hahahahah. i can relate to this. my own confession is zaynie's palmoil recipe for cough. my son had a cough and i told hubby that i want to give him palmoil+sugar as i read it cures cough. my hubby was like ![]() anyways, behind his back, i tried it and it worked. the cough stopped. i won't lie though, i was scared and i kept checking my son to see if he would throw up, etc ![]() if hubby ever finds out, i wee just point to zaynie's direction ![]() |
onegai thanks for sharing. i will try some of them - especially the oats. i know my son likes oatcakes but i just never thought about giving him quaker oats. chinese meals are also a hit. earlier this week, i gave my son chinese noodles stirfry (without spices and soy sauce but i used egg noodles, olive oil, chicken, prawns and mixed veg) and i was amazed on how much he enjoyed it. |
ginababy:Are you also breastfeeding? As much as I am a big fan of combination feeding, personally I do not give formula at night and that's because I'm too tired/sleepy to get up and start preparing his milk. So I just breastfeed till he sleeps. I "co-sleep" so it makes its a lot easier for me. The only exception is if my hubby or a relative is willing to do the bottle drama. However, if you do not mind waking up to sort his bottles, there's nothing wrong in giving him formula at night. Make sure it's the right quantity that will fill him up. Feed on demand. If he wakes and he's crying, check to be sure it's not his diaper as crying doesn't necessarily mean hunger. Sometimes all a baby needs is a cuddle or just a change of sleep position. There's nothing wrong with one poo a day. What matters the most is that he's not constipated. Always check the consistency of his poo and the colour as they are always telltale signs. I think the rumbling shouldn't be a cause for concern. At this stage, his digestive system is gradually expanding. Just make sure you give him warm water often as it helps with bowel movements since he's being formula fed. Regarding farting - make sure you burp him after each feed and also bottle feed him correctly. Check online on how to properly bottle feed a baby (that is holding the bottle, et al) to ensure he's not sucking air. |
GodMercy2015:I think your baby is overweight and you might need to change his feeding routine. I totally agree with AlphaHandMaiden. Have you checked the growth chart to see what percentile he falls into? My son's birth weight is close to yours (4.1kg), however, he weighed the 8kg mark at around 6months and yes, hubby and I are tall and I can't be described as skinny. To start with, what formula is your baby on? As with all brands, some are better than others while some have higher sugar/calorie contents than others. For example, I have read comments here from mums that have condemned the Peak Milk brand of formula (peak 123) as being too sweet. Check the formula's tin for its contents and compare with other brands. Then decide whether or not to switch or stick to the same brand. Secondly, since you are on combination feeding (breast milk and formula), you should reduce the number of bottles he gets a day. I think 4 bottles a day should be okay depending on your schedule (full time mum, working mum, etc). At his age, he should be feeding averagely 2-3hours. The trick is this - try and breast feed him anytime you are with him. For example, if you are off to work at 8am and back home by 6pm, what you should feed him between 6.01pm and 7.59am is strictly breast milk. With this schedule, when he is not with you between 8am - 6pm, he should drink at most 4 bottles of formula especially if you are giving him the right quantity per feed and if he feeds an average 2-3 hours in addition to giving him just plain warm water at least once between these times. Basically, the period he is not with you, then he should be on formula. Weekends should be strictly breast milk (except maybe when you are out and you are not keen on breastfeeding publicly). |
I totally agree with Banky W. They have some sort of partnership with British airways. I bought a British airways ticket and ended up on an American Airlines flight. Very terrible airline with old aircrafts. 6 hours flight to newyork yet none of the seats had personal in-flight entertainment systems. We all had to stretch our necks to watch the movi shown on a screen hanging from the 'ceiling' of the plane. |
Shinin2011:Congrats on the birth of your twins. With formula, I always go a scoop less than what's stated on the tin. For example, if the tin states 7 scoops for 200ml, I use six scoops. This is what has worked for my son. No constipation at all. I remember that Mama ekene - liftedhands has also stated on this thread that she uses the same method for her son. You can try this method and see if it works for you. The instructions on the tin "is only a guide" and there's room for mums to tweak it as they deem fit. You can try taking lots of hot meals such as oats, semo and hot chocolate (milo, bournvita and the likes). Massaging your boobs with warm water and also getting your twins to suck often also helps with milk production. |
AdaBiafra:How long has he been able to stand? If it's only recently, it's normal for the legs to be a bit shaky and wobbly as he is still learning to find his balance and get used to the "feeling" that he can actually stand. Sometimes it's also due to fear/confidence. Being able to stand with support is a major milestone and it takes a few attempts, falls and bumps for your baby to get used to standing supported or unsupported confidently. That said, what is his feeding like? Is he still on milk? Formula or breast milk? I personally believe that babies should be on milk (breast milk or formula or preferably both) for the first 12 months of their life. This is because they need all the calcium they can get from milk. Calcium is vital in babies for strong bones as well as growth. For example, my son gets at least 100ml of formula at least four times a day. This is minus morning, evening and night time breast milk. He took his first walking steps unaided (although wobbly at the time) at 9 months. If he's not drinking formula, do you add formula to his cereals? What is his source of calcium? If you can get his feeding right and ensure he has a steady source of calcium, you do not need any drugs/multivitamin. With time (next few weeks), he will be able to stand confidently and also start taking his first few steps. If however you are sure he has a steady source of calcium, then speak to your peadrictrian to prescribe a calcium supplement for you (which I really doubt they will). |
olamitie:Yes dear. It's makes a massive difference especially in cases where there's a history of miscarriage. Try and stay off sex if you can. If your husband insists, tell him it's your doctor's orders. ![]() |
