modath:Awww. **gives e-hugs** lucky you that you dont get to swell anywhere else apart from your belle. try the trebor. its not too sweet and not too minty and it should give you relief. you can get the 'soft' tebor which is easily chewable unlike the ones that break up in your mouth like chalk (i find it hard to suck on sweets without chewing them ) |
JustCurious:apart from the risk of pre-term labour, synthetic vitamin C can abort a feotus, so its best to stay off at least for the first 12weeks in pregnancy. the vitamin C in fruits is the 'good one'. besides, the chances of over-dosing on Vitamin C or going over the acceptable limits for pregnant women via fruits is low compared to taking the synthetic form (drugs). i dont know about you but personally, i cant finish more than 2 oranges at a go. infact, i rely on the odd smoothies to get my vitamin C intake as i just get put off eating assorted fruits. so all i do is drop one banana, milk, few strawberries or blueberries, 2 chunks of pineapple in my smoothie maker and thats me done. i can just have 2-4 in one month. |
tatacherie:to be honest, this is the first time i am reading or hearing that one MUST take vitamin C with fersolate and i will suggest you disregard it. i am not saying i have got the best doctor/midwife in the world but i am very confident about their competence. if vitamin C was a drug essential for pregnant women, they would not hesitate to prescribe it to me. like i said, even the iron tabs, he prescribes it only after doing blood test to check your blood count, etc and like in my case where it was reported as slightly low, he told me to work on my diet and gave me a list of iron-rch foods i should be eating. |
tatacherie:beautiful lady. why not stick to your doctor's prescription? you've been asked to take the vit C for just 2weeks so please stick to that and dont take any more. Vit C is a known abortifacient - especially in high quantities (google it), so i will advice you stay off it. I only took Vitamin C (water soluble tablets) about thrice in my 2nd trimester when I caught a cold (despite having the flu vaccine ) and i was sneezing real bad.as per drugs, personally, i have stuck to folic acid, vitamin D and pregnacare which i take just once a day. i was asked to add vitamin D as where I am based, we exprience little sunshine. I added iron tablets and calcium tablets to the mix in my second trimester which is also take once a day. of all the drugs i am taking, the only one not precribed by the doctor is the iron tablets as I have been told my blood levels are good and even when they drop lightly, i have been told to up my consumption of vegetables and red meat. however, as i am not dedicated to the red meat and vegetable diet, i decided to get iron tabs on my own. regarding complan milk - i know it causes constipation for some people though. |
kayode again? Kayode needs to shut the f*ck up. Until the mess in the senate is resolved, PMB is under no obligation to release any ministeral list. the truth is, there will always be people such as Kayode that will fault his selection of ministers. the priority now for us agents of change is how to get rid of Saraki. Saraki is PDP - flesh and blood and he is going to be the achilles heel of this administration if something is not done quickly about him. |
zaynie:thanks dear i would have called her but then wedding date was fixed over 2months ago. MIL was fully involved in fixing the date - if she didnt veto the date, the coupld would have had no choice but to move it. that i know ![]() |
modath:1. Yes. I was upset when I was told the date of the wedding because i was genuinely/excitedly looking forward to attending 2. Yes. To be honest, I prefer my mum to be around me as she is very active and hands-on but i wish MIL had at least asked or shown any interest in coming. |
modath:oh ok. I never knew this is the way it works. i naively assumed it was my mum's responsibility. my MIL hasn't made any travel arrangements to come or spoken to me about it and neither has DH said anything. Instead, she went ahead to schedule a wedding for one of her other kids around my EDD. *sighs* |
NgeneUkwenu:is there anyway this guy can be impeached or dealt with? what is jagbadan doing? he has dealt with smaller fishes and even worse situations. APC has to come up with a strategy ASAP to deal with this saraki issue. |
i saw this coming honestly. saraki is PDP - flesh and blood. |
Keji3:interesting. thanks |
RashMe:interesting. i never knew this. thanks. |
7Alexander:Charly Boy has been making babies right from secondary school. he had his first child when he was 16 or 17. read up his biography. |
Deezou:hhehehe. mine is hard too and i find it hard to squeeze. ![]() |
i have a question oh in yoruba culture, who is traditionally expected to come around after the birth of a child? the wife's mother or the husband's mother? |

modath:Its a delight to see a brutally honest pregnant woman for a change I did'nt do the whole spitting thing from day 1 till date and i am so thankful for that. However, i went through the whole throwing up, etc during my first 12 weeks. at a point, i was like 'kai.na who send me work i should have just heeded DH's advice and waited for one year'. imagine going from honeymoon phase to throwing up phase in less than 8weeks. my main 'vexation' is my nose. it has tripled in size. no jokes Have you got any tips on how I can reduce it? I have also suffered heartburn but i discovered that sucking on 'trebor' really relieves me. so now i wake up at odd hours and suck on trebor mints and i get almost instant relief. You should try it. I tap into the annointing of non-fussy babies oooooooo. ![]() |
Jennifer89:pele @ discharge. have you tried douching with warm water + salt + dettol? it should give you some relief and stop the discharge. warm water + few drops of tea tree oil also works. baby dey kick well well. mine starts in the evenings when i'm all relaxed and watching TV/movie. is that what that leg discomfort is called? 'restless leg syndrome' kai. it hasnt been funny. i just started experiencing it recently -especially evenings and early mornings - my leg is kinda stiff and i walk like an old woman for few minutes before the discomfort eases off. |
miraclebaby:thanks mi dear. i try to contribute the little i know and i hope it will be helpful to mamas here too. |
modath:we are plenty in this team #nomaternitywear For me, if push gets to shove, i will just switch to DH's clothes and start wearing his shirts modath, you are lucky oh say this is ya last bus stop. Pregnancy aint easy mehnnnn !! I keep asking my mum and DH with a very serious face why people have to go through this journey 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 times and even more how and why do they do it yet , they cant give me any straight answer and instead choose to laugh at me and call me a clown its now i understand why my oyinbo colleagues stop at just 1 and swear never to do it again ![]() |
Mogidi:are you for real? so out of ALL the senators from the 36states in Nigeria, saraki could not find ONE suitable APC member as his Chief of Staff ![]() |
major466:done https://www.nairaland.com/2402313/saraki-pdp-member-senator-isa |
Saraki employed a PDP member as his Chief of Staff. http://lindaikeji..co.uk/2015/06/senate-president-appoints-sen-galadu-as.html Senator Galadu represents Kebbi North in the Senate and is a member of PDP. how come nobody is talking about this ![]() honestly, Saraki has something up his sleeve and he is the JUDAS in APC's camp. He might be seen holding a broom but he is a PDP member - body and soul ! |

Jennifer89:heheheheheh teammate, you are not the only one oh ![]() i entered a mothercare store during my 1st trimester and i went to their maternity clothes section and i was like damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn ***aint no way i am wearing these 'unsexy' dresses/tops***i am still wearing some of my pre-pregnancy clothes and i just accessorise with cardigans(depending on the weather), blazers and long, beautiful scarfs (a must - i dont go out without one). what about underwear? do you feel comfortable in them? these days i just go pantless/thongless ![]() |
conyema12:your work pattern is a bit similiar to that of my hubby. athough, his own work pattern is shorter. more of 2-3 weeks in, 2 weeks out. yet we conceived immediately to the Glory of God when we were both ready. Conception would require planning/timing as a result of your work schedule since you are now TTC and your wife has to study her cycle very well and know her ovulation days and ensure both of you babydance very well shortly before she ovulates. if you are in the country say 24-48hours after she ovulates and you do all the baby dancing, she might not conceive as the egg might have died by then. the male sperm lives longer - up to 7days. so if you do the needful say 3days before she ovulates and then you are out of the country, there's a high chance she will conceive as there is sperm (millions of them yet it only takes one to do the needful) patiently waiting for the egg to drop and GBAM - fertilization occurs. also with your work schedule, you might get home tired and jetlagged and too tired to baby dance- not knowing that you are missing her fertile period- however, if you fully informed of her fertile days, you will babydance whether you are tired or not ![]() if i had not planned my holiday and hubby's holiday schedule around the period i was close to ovulating and consciously babydanced like kilode , i might not have gotten pregnant because he was actually away by the time i ovulated. its good to be informed - i could have ended up fretting (not that DH would have given a damn anyway as he wanted a one year wait post marriage ) not knowing that we were baby dancing at the wrong time of the month. please read through my pervious posts - especially the initial 2-4 posts i made on this thread. i detailed everything i did in preparation for conception. sprinkling baby dust your way ![]() |
CreamyBee:beautiful lady, what type of infection have you been treating year in year out? i think you should chill and take a very long break from all antibiotics. antibiotics are enough to mess up your menstral cycle/fertility. then again, i am always veryyyyyy skeptical with diagonistic labs in nigeria. all they see are 'infections'. the truth is there will always be micro-organisms as well as good and bad bateria in one's vjay. some of them dont even know what they are doing/what they are looking for. if you are having recurrent infections for so many years, if you had seen a good doctor, you should have been given drugs to that will tackle the infection either via drugs or intravenous injection and also testing your hubby and treating him if need be so as to stop the circle of infection. |
freakingout how are you dear? just checking up on you. any luck as per getting a good gynaecologist at kano or close to where you are located? |
rainyday:lol ![]() you are just preparing yourself for 'pregnancy baby brain' sprinkling a truckload of fertility dust your way ![]() |
proudmom38:was the sonographer able to see your baby's sex this time around? regarding gestational age based on scan results, you get the more accurate age during the first semester scan and that is what doctors tend to stick to as gestational age calculated using scans carried out especially during the 3rd trimester are not usually accurate. |
