asala1: You are the one who needs a doctor. Andriod is an open source OS which can be used by any mobile phone maker if they wish to. FYI andriod is andriod on whatever phone. Windows is window either on a HP or an acer laptop. The hard ware maybe different, can be more silk and more durable but the operating system is the same. Not really, my friend. The hardware also goes a long way in affecting user experience. Take for instance a pc. Windows 7 running on a pentium 4 pc with 512 ram can never run as smooth and fast as that on a quad core i7 pc with 6gb ram. And yet, they are the same OS. |
Brand_new: Has anyone noticed how long your have to Tap most Android screens before it responds? Even the storm I used 2 years ago did better. Please, can every1 please ignore the troll in the house. Hopefully, he will give up and go troll somewhere else. SMH @ poor android touchscreen responses and pixel resolutions. Guess u never heard of Sony's Acro S, Z, V, and T, or Samsung's Galaxy S3, or HTC's One X, X+ etc. All of these phones come with a 1280p screen (that's called "HD" troll). Truth be told, 5 or 6 out of 10 of smartphone users in the country use a bb (Android, windows, ios and symbian users please before you argue this number, just think about the shiploads of U.K. and U.S. used phones that enter the country daily). Now, tell me Mr. Troll. How come all these users are not successful business men and women? Or must you have a brand new bb phone for that? Please educate us Your Trollness. |
jiggar: My brother, i am using AMD but never will i advice anyone to use that company product again. Just my opinion.Hmmm.... I wish you can be more explicit about why you say you won't use them anymore. Anyways, @OP. I've used 3 laptops and a desktop powered by AMD processors and my current HP laptop uses E2 dual core with ATI graphics. They do have their strenghts and weaknesses. Am yet to see any truth in the myth of AMD processors being hot all the time. Sure when u use a system, it gets warm but not Hot like I hear ppl say. At least, in my case, I use my laptop to do intensive stuffs like games and network simulations and it handles it quite well. I've played PES 2012, DMC4, Fable, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood on it comfortably. The A10 is a very nice processor that handles as well as an intel quad core. |
moonraker: Cisco routersHAHAHAHAHA. Dude, maybe packet tracer, but am talking full blown cisco ios images here. Try GNS3 on a netbook with just 3 routers running ospf and let me see how fast the netbook will be. |
semid4lyfe: @ Moonraker & henryskywalker2003, can I comfortably install and use Windows 8 on my system without any issues?Yes you can, but before you do make sure you downloaded all the necessary drivers for your hardware and keep them at hand just in case. I ran into a similar problem when installing mine. Found out that the Broadcom Ethernet card that worked out of the box when I installed Windows 7 didn't work with Windows 8, same goes for the Intel VGA (The resolution was very off). Another thing, don't assume you'll like Windows 8 just because you installed a transformation pack. A transformation pack is nothing more than a theme when you really get down to it. So, be prepared to discover that there are lots of things you might miss from Windows 7 and a whole bunch of new stuff added. As for the activators, am pretty sure you'll find one in the same site you downloaded your copy of Windows 8. |
Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New year in advance. |
chygoz3: Now that's a solution i didn't think of. Good one @Henry. At least i've learnt a new thing.Thanks. |
Same thing here. No light since Christmas eve. Lagos. |
Then again, another possible reason for the lag in his system could be due to drivers not being installed. Cos I remember that after installing mine, I had to download and install the VGA and Ethernet card drivers, Intel and Broadcom respectively. After which I noticed an improvement in the speed. Note: this is not to say that it wasn't that fast before installing. Just that I have a big monitor and the resolution was off and I needed to get the right resolution. |
Lol. Then get ready to lose your certs cos what I have here is a vanilla install, 0% tweaking of any kind. As for my idea of snappy being flawed, well lets just say that my main laptop is fast enough for me to run 12 Cisco 2600 routers on GNS and Win XP in a VM all at once, and I can still be doing one or two other things without any lag. So, when I say something is snappy, it just snappy. My only issue with the Win 8 install on this test desktop is that the I don't really experience the super fast boot I get on better systems. But once it's up and running (takes between 30- 35 secs to boot to the desktop), everything else is fast. |
moonraker: The bolded is where your problem is. Upgrade to 4gb... I sincerely hope that ur not trying to install windows 8 on a netbook becos it will not work!!!it's not a ram issue cos I currently have Windows 8 running on a HP dx7400 desktop with a Pentium D processor and 1gb ram and it's quite snappy. Maybe what you need is a clean install and probably use a different disk to do that. |
oshobasmart: i have a problem with my laptop is refusing to bootthat's a very vague description. Does it even come and display the laptop's manufacturer's logo at all? Give more details to enable us better understand the problem. |
Mojibola: Good morning bro...no need 2 replace your hard disk. I once ran into that same problem before. The problem is that the OS has marked the wrong partition as the active 1 hence the recovery loop. If u're in lag, try and get in touch wit me, let me have a look at it. |
Dr. Who theme song from 1979 season. |
It won't work on other networks. Airtel gives extra data in addition to your BB subscription which you can use for tethering on a pc. |
Glad to have been of help. And contrary to what people think, subnetting is not a hard concept. I suggest you check tutorials online that teach it and you'll master it in no time. |
dahonestboss: i don't know if I am the only one seeing it from a different point of view.My thots exactly. But on a serious note. One thing that has always baffled me when it comes to bb is that, for a phone that is always proclaimed to be a business phone, how on earth did dey manager to forget adding a native pdf viewer out of the box? Heck, my Nokia N70 came with Adobe reader pre-installed whereas on a bb, to view a pdf, u'll have to receive it thru email and view it on the web browers. Any other means of receiving it won't allow u view it unless u forward that file to ur self using ur email. How on earth they managed to get away with such a blunder still amazes me. |
@Fisher666, It's a simple subnet issue. You've got to change the dhcp settings on your modem to accomodate more hosts. From what you said here, I can tell you that the settings on your modem is going to be 10.142.127.0 255.255.255.0 network which essentially gives you that range. All you need to do is to reconfigure your modem and use a subnet mask that can accomodate all your hosts. I suggest going with 10.142.126.0 and subnet mask of 255.255.254.0. This gives you an ip range of 10.142.126.1 to 10.142.127.254. So, you can now have 510 hosts on ur network. P.S. In case you are wondering how I got the extra 2 hosts, using this network address makes 10.142.126.255 and 10.142.127.0 valid hosts. |

Now this is quite wonderful. Apple suing Samsung over shape and screen of products that are of the same category (tablets). Am happy that Apple lost the case else every other tablet in the market would become very expensive like the ipad because their manufacturers will have to pay royalties to product rectangular shaped tablets, or they will have to use a different shape entirely. |
BB is this, bb is that, blah blah blah. ... <scoffs>. Puleeese. Give me a break here. Frm what i see, that device has succeeded in Nigeria where it has failed in Europe and the US because it succeeded in making its users really dumb. ok, let's talk facts here. 1. What do u call a business smartphone that cannot view pdf files locally? i mean come on, my Nokia N70 has adobe reader out of the box. To read a pdf file on a BB, u either email urself the file and open it on the browser or u either purchase a pdf viewer frm the appworld. 2. What kind of smartphone restricts its users from making use of internet facilities unless they pay a premium? i mean, even if u do have free mb, u still can't browse unless u apply some tweaks on it. That sucks. 3. What kind of smartphone has the power of HSPDA and yet restricts the users to just 5mb data limit downloads unless once again, u apply some tweaks to it. 4. What kind of smartphone comes without a radio? Come on, even Nokia torch has a radio. 5. What kind of smartphone takes 3-5mins to startup? imagine putting ur device on and waiting on it for 5mins to come on b4 using it. 6. This is the only smartphone that takes 2hours to charge completely and 6hours 2 die. Smartphones frm sony boast of having burst charge capabilities that enable lesser charging times and higher usage times. 7. What kind of smartphone forces the users to pay a premium fee for internet and yet wouldn't allow them to share it on other devices. (though with the advent of os 7.1 they fixed this issue as well as that of the radio but it's only available for their latest phones Bold 5 & 6, Curve 5, Torch 2) |
@OP. Dude, stop the lies. Am a regular user of BRT and that is no f**king BRT bus, for starters, they don't have fans inside the buses and neither do they sit 3 on a row rather they sit 2. Even the luggage space looks different from the BRT bus'. |
Nice one mate. |
DICKtator: Power? Maybe a subliminal message meaning PDP would remain in power for 50 yrs.Wow. So, u watched story time as well back then. Cool. |
