And where did you get that false information? 64bit os can run 32bit softwares without any hitch 99.9% of the time. 32bit os CAN'T run 64bit applications.

ajayitp04: I'll advise u go 4 d 1 that has intel dual core processor. It's more rugged and durable. AMD processors produce more heat and not as rugged as intel, though gud in graphics. That's why systems that come with AMD are cheaper. Dnt mind d money, go 4 hp 630 with intel dual core.

You guys always like reporting without facts. Who told u amd processors produce more heat? Am using my 3rd AMD laptop nw and like the previous ones, it hardly produces that much heat for me to notice. iF u want to see heat, try using any of the intel core duo and core 2 duo 1st generation processors.

@op. Just go for the 1 that best suits your needs. They are both solid processor manufacturers but if u really want to know which 1 is beta then u need to tells us the names of the two processors and not giving the generic names ie dual core or quad core.

He has a swift usb wireless router that he's been using on windows. The router doesn't seem to play very with linux. Have anyone sucessfully gotten it to work and if so, how?

Get avast home edition. It's free and you can combine it with comodo firewall for maximum protection. That's what I use.

Actually, it's quite possible but it depends on some factors and how skilled the person is, for instance, if ur ISP assigns u a static ip address instead of a dhcp assigned on, one can easily trace it back 2 u using a variety of means, eg hacking into ur ISP network and getting the info, or intercepting packets originating frm ur ip and maybe getting to sniff a username to a site (say maybe facebook), then researching the user account and getting all the info one wants on u. All in all, it's not a simple one way process but it's quite do-able if the person is quite skilled and has lots of patience.

@Highbros, they are targeted at different consumers. Plus the DV6 has a metallic body as against the more plastic body of the G6. on the average, better specs are put into a DV6 than in the G6 for instance, the processors found in the G6 are usually the dual core range while in the DV6, u'll see more of quad core (I know you'll say that they both have the same Core i3/i5 processors but when u really check it well, u'll find out that one is a dual core i5/i3 while the other is a quad). All these factors come into play in the pricing of a laptop.

@tedjazz, permit me to answer your question with one of mine. What does a programmer need to have on his/her laptop to be able to write programs? A text editor and a translator, right? That's basic. If you want to go hardcore as a programmer, you'll probably be needing a decent IDE. Lets assume you'll need an IDE (and am going to assume you'll be working with either java or one of the .net language suite) so we're talking about either Netbeans or Visual Studio. If you check, you'll find out that those two apps don't need any SPECIAL system to run, infact they can both run on any laptop in the market that is at least 5years old. And I hope by now, you'll probably realise how stupid some of the answers you've been given here sounds.

Highbros: DV6 is better. Due to its dedicated video memory. Most g6 has shared memory. You don't know what it means? Ask google.

Dude, stop giving out false info about stuff you re not so certain about. I have a G6 with an AMD Vision E2 dual core processor with 2GB total VGA mem with 512mb dedicated. All systems have both dedicated and shared video memory, the main thing u shuld be concerned with is how much of each do you have. Most common Intel VGA have just 64mb of 1-2GB dedicated while NVIDIA and AMD/ATI usually have at least 512mb dedicated.
@op, I advise u to go with the one that has the specs that meets ur needs at the same time, u can find the same specs on both models regardless.

It's not about the laptop having an AMD processor or not rather, it depends on the model. Take for instance, I have an HP G6 laptop that came with an AMD E2 Vision cpu but no bluetooth. I've seen that same model with an Intel Core i3 and it still has no BT. A friend of mine uses an HP Compaq Pressario AMD Athlon, yet despite mine having better specs than his, the laptop has BT. I suggest u check the manufacture's site for a list of features included in a system's model b4 u purchase 1 next time.

bibe: well am a blackberry+android user, am using bold 9790+samsung galaxyS. i use the android mostly for multimedia purpose especially video when am travelling.
but i really wudnt recommend android device especially those of lower OS than ICS (i.e android 4.x) cos the are all not very efficient at managing resources especially battery life which is very significant when u use them for data purposes[b] and also not that gud luking GUI-wise.[/b]
personally, i wanna switch to windows phone devices but since ur concerned about cost, i wud recommend the nokia 603. its priced at 35k while the galaxy s is around 48k. plus its got a comparable spec to the galaxy s. the only difference being the storage capacity as the galaxy s comes with 8gb inbuilt but 5.7gb user accessibility.

In the editor that opens up, search for "en_gb"
Copy the entire line, and paste onto a new line.
In the newly pasted line, change the "en_gb" to[b] "en_ng"[/b]
save the file and exit....and you are done!

little problem, there are more than one place where that string occured in the said file. I later pick the one that said "en_gb = english british" and replicated it at the bottom changing the gb to ng but I still get the same error.

I've always know Seun to be a self-professed atheist but I never he had such big grudge against christianity in particular. So far, I get an error, "Sorry Ubuntu 12.04 has experienced an internal error". Unity crashed because it could not interpret my locale, en_NG. I just included it and specified the en_GB locale settings for en_NG in the python locales file (/usr/lib/python2.7/locale.py), and the error is gone!
