It is sad.
But think of it, Nigeria isn't a union borne out of love or drive to move forward. Nigeria is like a sham marriage and those favoured will do anything to maintain their advantage. To them, they have nothing to loose.
Me honestly thinks Nigeria needs to just divide. Let each region go there own separate way and decide their fate..
This system where millions of illiterates who don't know better would decide the collective fate of everyone isn't going to work... A system where presidential candidates run away from debates but appear at rallies is not going to help us move forward..

Good news.
This is a good step and I expect haters who can't hold their govt responsible to start shouting "build more factories and not churches" or something along that line.
After reelecting buhari, everybody should eat their garri and suffer in peace, if I hear build factory ehn. This election really did offset some burden, Whatever the people witness in four years let them take it as the product of their choice.

Those Esau descendants who traded votes for garri should soak it well they would eat it for four years.

Beyond recruiting pastors and building new auditoriums no church is going to build any factory or create any jobs for a ppl who could better their lots by voting right.
Christianity Etc › Re: Winners Chapel Acquires 3,600 New Properties - Recruits 1,500 Pastors Worldwide by HigherEd:
Heard about it.

Whether you have a bad govt or not most of these churches would succeed in whatever they put focus on. When the likes of Oyedepo, Oyakhilome, Adeyemi tell you to vote sensibly they aren't doing it because they would go hungry if you vote in useless islamist leaders but they are mostly concerned about the effects on the gospel and the society.

It takes little for an Oyedepo to warm his way around a Buhari and he and his church will have no issues whatsoever. Buhari may detest the Christian gospel but his persecution will not start with the "big men" of christianedom but with that missionary on the streets of zamfara, that little gospel ministry trying to procure a parcel of land in Yobe, the christian sister forced to wear hijab or marry an emir.

The FRCN led attacks on churches quashed by Buhari proved that Nigerian islamist politicians are afraid of big pastors with a good international ministry profile. The oyedepos, oyakhilomes have friends in high places(foreign govts, judiciary, legislature and security systems) that will help them escape any persecution or whisk them out of this country at moments notice. But when you the poor masses are systematically rigged out of jobs because of religious and ethnic affiliations, when your farms are ravaged and your wives defiled, your children taken hostages who would be your voice?

The church does not have military to guard your lives or properties when an evil govt comes hard on your lives. It only has prayers and the capacity to vote. I hope y'all voted well in this elections.....

This election proves buhari is a corrupt criminal. GEJ gave us peaceful, free and fair elections in 2015 yet buhari and the incompetent ppl he appoints have made a regression on the gains made four years ago.

In addition to state sponsored thuggery and illicit money for vote trade, the buhari govt has proven that it is of no difference to the establishment that has kept Nigeria enslaved for years.

If the unemployment rate is high, what is government doing about it? Is N-power or trademoni a sensible idea to you? What happens to the factory owner and potential employer in Nnewi, Anambra whose business is suffering because of epileptic power supply? Isnt the Commonwealth of a nation meant to provide things the people share in common? What is the wisdom in using a criteria that can be faked - poverty to share trade-money?
Do you guys think at all. Can we hold the past admin responsible? is a bad performance from past admin a valid excuse for govt to waste our time? Do you guys think at all?
Thank you, the world was created in one day. Why would some countries develop and others not develop. It is simply because of a knowledge gap and mediocre leaders. I'm really hating this narrative that I have to run away to a foreign country to seek fulfillment. To me it's a Coward's way out. But why should anyone not take that option when the majority of Nigerian people are mentally enslaved and can't see their oppressors.

I really believed that bullshit that buhari had integrity but when I saw him romanticising tinubu I knew it was a hoax. If you really hate something you would never be able to sit in the same room with people who practice it talk less of enlisting them as your political benefactors. A corrupt man will never endorse a righteous man and a righteous man will never endorse a corrupt man.

The people of Nigeria are not woke at all. They claim this man is fighting corruption, he is not fighting corruption but the opposition.

It's not stated anywhere that the 30,000 applications started with this administration. You just sought another way to haul blames at the present government. When has the unemployment rate ever been low?
Why do you people keep referring to the past?
I don't give a damn about the past because I can't change it. What is your candidate doing about the future?

Obj could blame the military era, Gej could blame Obj, buhari could also blame Gej. But is that the game you want politicians to play with your life while you continue wallowing in poverty?

It was Theodore Roosevelt who single handedly delivered America from the hands of evil capitalist. It was Lee Kuan yew who set the pace for today's Singapore. What has Buhari done in Nigeria today that can stand the test of time?

India just sent a satellite to space, Pakistan now has twelve of its public universities ranked world class where Nigeria has only one. Every nation our type is making slow progress but we are moving in circles.
The problem of the Blackman is tolerance. We tolerate a lot of bullshit. You know why USA, Europe continues to develop - It is because the white man is less tolerant to mediocre leadership.
Education › Re: "We Receive 30,000 Unsolicited Job Applications Every Year" - Landmark VC by HigherEd(op):
Nigeria is in trouble, the joblessness in this country is reaching a new height. And the most crazy thing is the president and his team have no blueprint on how to reinvigorate the economy and then create jobs for millions of Nigerian youths.

With all due respect it is clear that the president, Buhari lacks vision, direction and more importantly a belief in the Nigerian system and that is why he finds comfort and trust in the hands of English doctors. Prefers his kids schooling abroad and all of that.

You may advocate for a cabinet of technocrats to support a President who has no sense of direction or vision or who is so detached from his people's problems but the best ministers in the world can not transform a country, only a President can.

Our hopes, aspirations, inspiration is summed up in the person of the president because only the president is truly elected by the totality of the Nigerian people but Buhari is clearly not it. He lacks the capacity to lead or inspire nor does he understand the magnanimity of the office he carries.

This coming election you have a chance to fix things. To make a bold statement that goodluck was not good enough, that buhari was not good enough and that if Atiku is not good enough in the next four years you would kick him out.

“It is not accidental that you came on board when the Vision for a World-Class status was caught; it is rather essential that you prove your onion as a partner in progress towards actualizing the vision”. These were the words of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju at the induction of Faculty and Staff of the University, held at the International Conference Centre on 24th January, 2019

While intimating them with the purpose of the Induction, he averred that Landmark is a place for them to be, to learn and to live responsibly in order to give deserving meanings to the lives of others worldwide through providing food security. He added that, riding on the wave of uncompromising quest for excellence with improving accomplishments, Landmark is no doubt a cynosure of all eyes, even as audacious as the vision is, talk more of her compelling mission, cum lofty core values, the University is attracted to a great deal of people across the globe from all walks of life, striving to partner with her to drive for food security which is a sine qua non for existence, growth and development of any nation.

“Teeming prospective applicants to Landmark on an average of one hundred applications per day (about 30,000 per year) is a proof of relevance and impact the University commands. This is why I specially congratulate you on your success at our various screening points culminating on your receipt of employment letter. You are apparently singled out by merit from the crowd to be of good service in an institution that values collective approach to proffering solutions the society deserves.”

Professor Olayanju further noted that it is rather essential that they prove their onion as partners in progress towards actualizing the vision of the university. He added that their arrival should not rival with the team on ground, as the Institution believes that cooperation among the workforce would take the University further and higher in achievement than what competition could offer the organization. “While cooperation unites and builds, competition divides and destroys. It is wise to build synergy and bring our collective potentials to the round table in the spirit of unity to conquer our common enemy and live a life worthy of praise to our creator, God almighty.”

In a later development, the Vice-Chancellor in his presentation titled, “Partnering with Landmark in achieving Vision for a World-Class status, Understanding and espousing the overarching Vision of the University,” reiterated that Covenant University got the prophetic verdict of vision 10:2022 from the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedeop in 2012 and it is already becoming a reality, as Landmark University is also ready to key-in noting that both Universities are of the same gene.

After signposting the areas of fundamental interest in the drive towards the realization of vision for a World-Class status, he enthused the participants to make most of the assorted visionary and inspiring lectures that would enable them fulfill destiny in Landmark and the world in general.

The Registrar, Dr. James Ndako speaking on “Driving Efficiency - Administrative Structures and processes at Landmark,” he stated that the Registry of Landmark University is saddled basically with the responsibilities of managing students’ academic activities from admission to convocation and staff welfare from entry to exit, with scope of work that is as wide as it is diverse. He noted that there are 8 component units seamlessly linked and centrally coordinated with a single line of reportage to the Registrar, as they assist in ensuring a prudent management of the resources and asset base of the University through curbing wastes in all its ramifications and the proper channeling of resources which are in line with the aspirations of the Proprietors’ platform in line with stipulated policies and administrative processes.

Other presenters were the Director, Financial Services, Fadoju, Oludare Samuel who spoke on “Financial Responsibilities of Faculty and Staff- Monthly Deductions from Salary”, Director, Physical Planning and Development, Arch. Olaonipekun Oluwasegun, who spoke on World Class Approach to Infrastructure and Facility Usage, and that of the University Chaplain, Pastor Tope Johnson, on Spirituality, an Essential in Attaining Excellence in Life and Career.

Do thugs who come to snatch boxes come with roses or flowers to share for people at the PU or they use guns? What happens to whoever dares to stop them? The journalist is ignorant of our situation.
Please use your brain. The Nigerian police is fully aware of the rules of engagement. If a ballot snatcher poses an imminent threat, they don't need to be told to reply with deadly force. As it is, these policemen and soldiers kill people for doing way trivial things that they do not need to be encouraged to commit more acts of impunity.

So if stray bullets from police kills innocent bystanders or voters in a bid to shoot ballot snatchers would you be happy?

Do you think voters would come out and vote when they've been told that there is a possibility of a shoot out at the voting stations?

Nobody is saying don't kill ballot box snatchers. But if you must kill them do it according to the rule of law. Let that judgment come from a judge in the court and not some trigger happy police.

Do you understand the history of Britain at all? Do you know how that nation's wealth was acquired? Wait - don't tell me - history is not taught in schools in Nigeria.

If you don't know there is a direct correlation between the number of faith-based organisations in Nigeria and the country's retarded development, it is because you have poor tools of analysis. Simple.

Hire the best professors?most of their lecturers are adhoc and gotten from other public universities. When I was in school(OAU), I had about 10 of my lecturers in the faculty of engineering lecturing part-time in covenant university. These private uni's are just a rip-off. You pay all of these every year, graduate and then you can't still compete in the labour market with your counterparts from the public unis(with the exception of covenant grads)
You must be a joker, which CU lecturer is from OAU? Top 10 must published lecturers in Engineering in Nigeria are full time professors from Covenant.
