budaatum:They were able to 'take off' the head of the king because it was a Christian nation. Muslims are never known to be objective thinkers nor usurpers of oppressive leadership. Take the middle east for example. It's no coincidence that Christian majority countries are the major democracies in the world. |
budaatum:you think Christianity and Islam are the same. You must be joking... |
Onyekapray do you have the ebook for The Tongue Trap By Olukoya? If not can you send me a screenshot of where Olukoya made statements against marital vows. Thank you... |
What is with Nairaland and churches today ![]() |
Truefaith:Oh pls can you shut up already |
Icon79:Don't be dull, living faith doesn't permit those vows since time immemorial. |
Good. That was a shambolic election process. |
generationz:Very valid point. However those kind of people are those without any moral compass. Vow or no vow one should first marry someone who fears God. Unfortunately, many who break those vows suffer consequences they can't trace to the vows they made... Let me say it this way, Marriage is a covenant or agreement. And every agreement has terms and conditions - for the good times and the bad times. And the conditions of a Christian marriage is no retreat no surrender! And in that moment the minister flashes that reality in your eyes you know what you are getting yourself into. Read this. BY SirTee15On the other hand I know Oyedepo doesn't believe in divorce but he has a problem with professing anything negative. His wife lived with him inside his beetle car, ate baby food with him during the not so financially bright days of the church. This she did even though she was a first class graduate of OAU who by virtue of her degree could have jumped ship and go look for paid employment. He also stood by her during all her health challenges. In church circles today one of the ways you can look for Oyedepo's trouble is to say the evident. 'The church account is low', 'Sir you are sick' - those are words he hates and can sack a person for... So I know he is not trying to say ppl should abandon their partners when things are tough but he believes pronouncing the negative is equally wrong. |
blackpanthar:Hmm I u understand why ministers of the faith movement, the likes of Hagin, Oyedepo and Copeland would thoroughly hate that line because most believe the redemption package doesn't permit Christians to be sick or poor in the first place. But the reality is that many Christians live short of God's desire for their divine health and financial prosperity. And you don't want a situation where marriages collapse because of money or health issues. Therefore, that line though Unscriptural was a necessary innovation from the medieval church to bring marriage partners into a vow bound by death. To ensure that no one jumps ship when things get low - which in many cases it does. In doing so, the church has removed the option of divorcing your partner for circumstantial reasons and reinforced that it would not be part to relationships inspired by benefits only. My reservation is when major ministries abandon that line it would further weaken people's commitment to lifelong marital covenants. The only evil the church has been culpable in is not encouraging victims of marital abuse to separate from their abusive spouses - something the church must work on. |
All that "for better for worse, in sickness and in health", that people recite as marriage vows is unscriptural! It is a curse! Dr David Oyedepo https://www.facebook.com/444807728996437/posts/1620543638089501/

iodineadamatine:Name the private university oyedepo has registered in his name.. Name the private jet oyedepo has in his name. |
iodineadamatine:Go and loose your own life first hypocrite... Lol you are talking about Vatican. Do you know the amount of Gold the catholic is invested in? The Pope's carriage is a traditional carriage and doesn't reflect any sort of moderation. Have you seen the value of the Vatican estate? Pls stop talking nonsense. |
iodineadamatine:Alas nobody is perfect as Jesus nor his anybody Jesus. Jesus came for a specific purpose which is to die. If he were busy accumulating human wealth which he created wouldn't that be counter productive. Haven't you heard of scripture that says he became poor so we can be rich... But if you feel the pastors of today aren't poor enough you are free to lead by example. Become the priest you desire and be poor as possible. |
lexy2014:The point is if you compare Oyedepo lifestyle with that of his contemporaries he is actually not extravagant... |
lexy2014:Private Jet. Yes so? |

MURIC is a dangerous Organization. The WAEC official made salient point, you can't hold a nation ransom. Highlighting the man's position in church is another devilish way MURIC is looking to stoke a religious war between Christians and Muslims. In Nigeria, we are becoming over-religious. We are becoming so holier (sic) than the Pope and holier (sic) than the man in Saudi Arabia that somebody like Professor Ishaq Akintola would now be going to schools to disrupt (their activities) because of prayer time. |
lexy2014:And if Oyedepo wanted to show class he would be riding a Bentley mulsanne or rolls Royce not a Toyota sonata. Are we finished here? |
Not only that Church staff/workers are allowed to pay for housing units in installments of 30 years. Cheapest housing estate in Africa. Largest housing estate In Africa Phase 1 already has its own gas powerplant To have its own police station, fire services, sport centres, hospitals and schools Cheapest Unit - 4 million naira \ 30 years = 133,000 Per Annum Most expensive Unit - 35 million naira\30 years = 1.2 miilion/annum. The estate is currently only for Winners members iamJ:This one is in sifia pains o Lord heal him of jealousy...But on a more serious note you lack wisdom. Govt would go and burn down an estate owned by possibly 15,000 people which could be housing up to 150,000 people in the minimum. You think the residents would be watching you burn down houses they bought with their hard earned money. Land backed by a federal CofO for that matter. You think Ogun state would be watching as you burn down the source of its largest Land-use charge income(on 15,000) houses simply because of one President's vendatta against oyedepo. Even Abacha can not do that |
Africa is/was rooted in dark practices. In this continent parents sacrificed twins to gods In this continent tribes practiced human rituals Thank Jesus for the civilization brought by the church and colonialist. Living in Africa 500 years ago must have been crazy... |

The south west is too diverse to accommodate religious bigotry. The likes of MURIC should be thoroughly dealt with for trying to break the peace. |
Bilyonaire:Oh wow lemme check |
What goes around comes around I guess. Ambode should be careful at this point. They can impeach him at anytime now if he does anyhow. Lalasticlala |
“STOP AND THINK,” CHANCELLOR TELLS LANDMARK COMMUNITY AT 8TH FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION “You can never be a solution provider if you don’t think. Thinkers of all ages are solution bearers. There are many readers but few thinkers. Unfortunately, only 5 per cent think, 25 per cent think they think while 75 per cent will rather die than think. Diverse opportunities abound in the nation but only thinkers can access them. Thinking is the raw material for wisdom, only thinkers manifest wisdom. So, it is time to stop and think. You cannot change time and season. You cannot be youth twice. Life is an adventure of time and season.” These were the reverberating nuggets of the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo to the University community as Landmark celebrated 8th Founder’s Day on Thursday 21st March, 2019. Dr Oyedepo’s visionary and inspirational leadership, as endowed by God, has been the stimulating force for the University’s new groundbreaking achievements since inception. The “Stop and Think” charge was a great deal apt for the 8th anniversary, signifying new beginning in the scriptural sense. Speaking to the student population in particular, Dr Oyedepo enthused that they are in their planting season as youths, saying anyone who failed to plant would reap nothing later in life. He admonished that a foundation laid in Christ is eternal as it would speak all the days of their lives. “This is your planting season, never joke with it. I stated hearing God at 22. I started building my library from 20. I turned 50 years in the faith last month. You cannot afford to miss God at this stage of your life, if God is rightful placed at this stage of your life, you won’t run helter-skelter later in life. Give Jesus His rightful place and you won’t regret it,” he admonished. While establishing that sound mind is one of the benefits of redemption, quoting 1 Corinthians 2:6; 2 Timothy 1:7; 2 Peter 3:15. Dr Oyedepo reassured them that redemption does not suspend believers’ thinking faculty but fosters sound mind. He gave the example of Jesus, saying that he demonstrated unparalleled wisdom in his lifetime. “You cannot ask any question further after Jesus answered you. He is very sound.” According to him, thinking takes one to the realm of exploits like Jesus. He disclosed that the application of the truth of Scriptures available through thinking in line with the Scripture being read is what brings about ultimate exploits (Joshua 1:8 and 1 Timothy 4:15). He therefore noted that anyone who would do command exploits must be diligent and self-disciplined. Citing Proverbs 22:29 and Genesis 18:25 respectively. In the same vein, the Chancellor, alluding the biblical prodigal son, cautioned that achievements are non-transferrable, noting that anyone who invest in his youth has the propensity to surpass the achievements of his forebears. “This is my founder’s day anniversary gift for you. Go and start with God. Start to think. Go and embark on a think-read adventure. Think through what you read. To keep your system charged, you have to think by reasoning through the Bible and what you read (Psalms 119:97-100). If you will take this responsibility, you will be wiser than your contemporaries. “Honour your parents. Never stand up to them. Respect your teachers. Honour them if you want to be great. We are Christ-cultured people, disciplined people. Receive grace to think your way back on track and stay on track,” he concluded. Multitudes of students yielded the altar call to start new lives in Christ before the celebration of God’s faithfulness in songs of praise and dance that capped the event. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2353552014657579&id=377272692285531

Staged to make it seem PDP is the one causing trouble... |
drealzum:Strong Alumni has nothing to do with Senators or governors or that. The question is would ABU alumni be strong enough to stand for its poor off graduates. Public universities don't have strong alumni rather they have influential people. If influential people don't team up then there can't be a strong alumni - that's the difference. Your so called ABU senators would fix in their nephews from Covenant university into NNPC before they give a jack about a poor dude that graduated from Abu. On the other hand the CU alumni is deliberate about fixing its own people in positions of power and influence - that's a cult like alumni... |
If you've ever asked why mathematics is so important. The story of that Air Canada flight that nearly crashed because of conversion error is a good answer for you. |
PrimadonnaO:Lol fortunately for me I'm not married. Probably I've been waiting for you ![]() |
Bilyonaire:Do I? Well I schooled in canaanland. Lived there for four years. Was a severe critic of Oyedepo's type of Pentecostalism. So I was more attentive than the average student. |
Truth is CU can't be liberal as long as Oyedepo is alive. Oyedepo took inspiration from command secondary school as the perfect disciplinarian template for Covenant undergraduate program. The man is probably just still in shock after that registrar kini. The thing prolly made him doubt his own sense of judgment that he decided to stay off the uni matters.. But if they push their new found crazy behaviors enough they would regret it, because when hurricane oyedepo hit them people would not call CU a glorified secondary school but a glorified primary school. |
