Education › Re: Aize Obayan Is Dead! Ex-Covenant University VC Dies At 59 by HigherEd:
I was heartbroken yesterday when I heard of her death and that of Prof Edewor who celebrated his birthday just five days ago. Prof Aize on the other hand was recently appointed to NUC's board and I was just expectant of the radical change she could have brought.

I can only pray God grants all their children super abundant grace to go through this trying time.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

What did he study for MSc and PhD?

How do you take a man who is a professional at giving religious considerations and verdicts as the CJN of the highest court in the land which is meant to be non biased. This sort of judge will definitely see the Koran as superceeding the constitution of d land.

Ehimen100:
This is a really interesting concept and a good example of how architectural concepts should be developed. However, I don't know if the output best explains the original concept.

Also, are students now allowed to offer architectural services especially of a building this complicated? The student architect would need to work with other licensed and experienced architect to actualize this.

Like I said earlier, what I may fault in this concept development is how different the narrative is from the eventual output. Without reading the concept story, I would have thought that this was a big aquarium. Also, like someone said earlier, a building influenced by mermaids.

In as much as concepts can be abstract, you should also be able to grab it without much explanation.

You can read my articles on concept development here https://archccess.com/2018/04/what-is-concept-html/

You can also read the architecture design process here. https://archccess.com/2017/01/architectural-design-process-for-html/
CU has a lot of ARCON certified architects in the dept and even in PPD. So they all work together.

Exactly...

The President cannot be suspended by even if he kills a person neither can the CJN. They can only be removed by impeachment even when they commit a glaring crime.

That answer still not straight as it clearly does not hit the nail on the head. Who owns Convenant after Oyedepo's dismiss. Church or his family.

If I should go by your last statement, you saying Oyedepo's family owns it since Oyedepo owns DOMI
Well that question is probably going to be answered when Oyedepo jnr is about to hand over. As it is now Oyedepo jnr is directly in the succession path. So it would be unclear who owns the university until a non biological successor emerges in the future of winners.

Hope u get my point, because oyedepos son is taking over we won't know for sure who owns the uni.

AllenSpencer:
Wait O! Want to get the point straight.

In the case of Oyedepo's dismiss, is Convenant University the property of the church or Oyedepo's family?

Same with Redeem also.

This facts need to be outlined before they answer deaths calling .
Covenant is owned by World Mission Agency a subset organization of David Oyedepo Min Incorp. I believe Oyedepo would have thought about these things before he goes to be with the lord. But God forbid if a leadership tussle brews in winners then it might not affect covenant as WMA and winners are all owned by DOMI. So whoever controls DOMI essentially owns the universities, jets and all. Whoever leads winners should be answerable to board and leadership of DOMI.

The leadership of DOMI I suspect is well guarded, this makes hostile takeover of the church an almost impossible task.

CodeTemplar:
Are you involved in the Canaan city construction? I can imagine another city of labourers and contractors already forming around that at Atán / Idiroko axis.
God bless a man of true vision in Oyedepo. If this man can rally a section of the population ( less than 10%) for all these then I wonder what he would do with just a little more being giving to him.
Not yet, very soon though we will..
I tell people that Atan - Ota is a very blessed place. In the next 10 years that place might be unrecognizable. Apart from Canaancity, thousands of acres of land are being developed in different parts by different developers. This would very well change the demography of the place to a more affluent one. I hope Ogun state can quickly recognize this by supporting companies, industries and churches in that axis with good roads. The taxes, land use charge that would emanate from those axis would be humongous.

I'm from Abeokuta but Ogun should leave ABK for now and focus infrastructure on border areas of Lagos.

Nigerian leaders should go for deliverance and impartation service in Winners. This man is efficient. Let me see one loser here talking about some people not being able to afford the city first. I will cast that person.
As oyedepo would say let them keep complaining while I keep making new moves. For me Oyedepo is a good blend of visionary, entrepreneur and minister. If he had the kind of money Nigeria had I'm certain we would fair well as a nation. If he had the opportunity of being a business man he would dust the likes of dangote. Why? He has a large appetite for risky things and likes to dare very difficult things.
Even at an advanced age he still has dreams and vision and is very unsatisfied.

It's beautiful. The correlation behind fish and believers though. Would make so much sense if we didn't live in a paranoid society. Five years down the line someone would come and be forming analyst claiming Oyedepo built mall in worship of mammy water. So pls o the architect was thinking about fishers of men not mammy water.

Was at the city sometime ago many members had began to move in and they already installed the gas plant and were completing the water tanks.
Politics › Re: Punch Editorial : CJN Onnoghen Suspension - A Dictator Bares His Fangs by HigherEd:
rottennaija:
Donald Trump suspended a whole government for more than 1 month and he is not a dictator. PMB suspends a CJN he appointed for corrupt practices he admitted, suddenly, he becomes a dictator.

What will happen if he suspends a whole govt then? PDP would be shouting Nigeria is killed, Democracy is dead, as if democracy was ever alive during the days of Obj, Yar'adua, GEJ
Your brain is dysfunctional. According to Nigerian law there is no provision for the suspension of a CJN by any court in the land. He can only be removed by an impeachment initiated by NJC, Senate and Presidency. No court can effect the suspension of the CJN just like no court can effect the suspension of the president. He likewise can only be impeached regardless of the weight of any accusations against him.

Constitutions are founded as the backbone of any democracy, if you feel it is too slow then apply for it to be amended. That is how to begin the fight against corruption, not by going around the constitution. Donald Trump and many americans don't like the 14th amendment of the US which guarantees citizenship to all immigrant children born on visit to the US but they well understand that the constitution is a sacred document and can't simply be ignored.

Even when your president went on 107 days holiday in UK, nobody declared his seat vacant when they had some constitutional backings to do so.

Now don't be daft, everything trump is doing is very much constitutional within the confines of US law less he would have been impeached so don't compare rubbish.

Disregarding the constitution of Nigeria is far worse an act of corruption than looting public funds because it is an invitation to anarchy and civil unrest.
Politics › Re: Full Profile Of New Chief Justice Of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed by HigherEd:
Mere looking at the man you know he doesn't belong i n a secular court of great importance.

He spent 2 years at shariah court and was mumuishly promoted to appeals court for 13 years, making 15 years (minimum req) he conveniently needs to be CJN.

This is no longer an islamization agenda, this is now islamisation implementation.

The way buhari appoints northerners you would think that only northerners go to school while those of us in the south are all learning carpentry and mechanic work.

This buhari of a man is so crude in his thinking and I am not surprised. Heard he once choose a Malian abi na nigerien over an Igbo man for AU elections. He is all shades of racism and bigotry.

It saddens me when people fail to see this man for what his darkened soul is all about. I saw it long ago as he allowed the wanton destruction of ethnic minorities in middle belt.

The question now is if he could be so biased, allowed the rape, killings of thousands of innocent people go unhindered in his first term then what should we expect in his second term?
