I sha know it's between Oyakhilome and Oyedepo. $150 million is just a bit above the amount living faith spent on Landmark university. However it is hard to analyze the wealth of pastors apart from their churches. Should we assign oyedepo's jet, schools to the church or himself. To me as long as those properties are registered to church then it can not constitute the wealth of pastors.

Govt is supposed to provide electricity, roads and all that, but you have organizations having to intervene and you are still asking for taxes that are not well managed.
Do you think Oyedepo's house alone can consume 1000MW. Is it not some Nigerians that would benefit from the light?
Christianity Etc › Re: Winners Chapel Constructing 1000MW Plant In Ota by HigherEd:
Amazing stuff... But they already have one fully functional power plant at canaancity phase 1.. I think they are doing the plants in little bits of 5-15MW which is ok. It may be impossible to construct one single plant that gives 1000MW.

I don't understand the regulations though because rccg plant is 25MW which exceeds the regulations people are citing.
Hopefully, they are able to give light to surrounding communities as was early planned.

However God can do the impossible, if it's a prophetic verdict from God I have no choice than to believe 100% cool
Education › Re: "I Vow By God Covenant Would Be One Of The Top 10 Universities" - Oyedepo by HigherEd:
The current best young university in the world is the Hong Kong University of Science And Technology(Times Young university rankings 2018). HKUST was founded in 1991 but on the Times world university rankings is rated 41st.

Covenant is benchmarking with Maastricht University, Netherlands founded in 1976 and POSTECH, South Korea founded in 1986. The interesting thing is none of these two are even in top 100 universities talk more of top 10.

Some years ago the Chinese govt declared "double first class" which mandated 42 Chinese universities to overtake American Universities on world rankings, but till today not one Chinese university has made it to top 10 even though they invaded top 100.
Reason being that IVY league Private universities in the US and few UK universities who hold the top 10 ranking spend about 700 billion naira to 1 trillion naira in annual research spending.

So in my honest opinion just having Covenant university in top 100 is enough to send shockwaves across and accolades from global academia - even that would require hundreds of billions of naira to acheive plus intensive support by FG. So unless winners is ready to set aside at least 400 billion naira in annual research funding then top 100 may be just realistic.

Selling false and unpractical faith, believe and doctrine
Your comment does not correlate with the post. If you listen to Oyedepo's messages on prosperity, he doesn't just believe you can just sit at home and expect prosperity to come on you. His template for success in ministry involves working it out.

Covenant university didn't just become one of the top 10 unis in Africa by prayers and tithes only. It involved a whole lot of work.
Christianity Etc › Re: "God Would Do It Is A Slogan Of The Indolent" - Bishop Oyedepo by HigherEd:
Somewhat correct. Though not in all cases.

Maybe what he is trying to say is that people need to do something to have the change they desire. Praying for instance is work and if you don't pray you may never get the desires of your heart. You may not get that healing or increase.

Another example is You can't just wish yourself into a fellowship with God, it takes hours of prayers, study, worship etc. If you don't do it then your fellowship would be mediocre. For you to have an active relationship with God you must work it out.

But there are instances where God wants you to hands off the situation and he takes full control. I have a personal testimony to that effect. I have passed exams I never sat for, I have seen a friend's F change to A months later just by believing God and praying. So well.

Even Oyedepo once got healing from tuberculosis without medical help, so I'm sure what he said is contextual.

So when Isiah 1:18 said 'come let us reason together' it was attacking faith . Apostle Paul who was preaching especially to the Romans appealing to their sense of reason to understand the word of God which is full of logical reasoning was also anti faith, You want to replace that with chaos , made up facts and whatever catches your fancy in the name of faith??
A lot of Nigerians are practicing some sort of Voodoo as they do in the Caribbeans with traces of Christian doctrine mixed in it .
There is nothing logical about the bible.

really? That's discouraging to hear. So then, when your bible says 'Come let us REASON together, says the lord', what sort of reasoning was he anticipating since you are of the notion that he doesn't function in the realm of logic?
Context is important!
Reasoning in this context has to do with communicating with God. Not trying to evaluate his essense or being through human reasoning or conclusion.
Celebrities › Re: Adeboye: Meet Winners Of Daddy Freeze #TeaChallenge by HigherEd: 1:51pm On Mar 05, 2019
Freeze is an agent of the devil sent to attack the most vital feature of a believer which is Faith. Freeze wants you to be logical with your faith. He wants to move you into the realm where God cannot function which is the realm of logic and reason.

Fortunately, Logic doesn't cut with God. If you must be a believer in Jesus then you must first understand that logic and reason are anti faith. You must be able to wear the garment of faith while putting off the garment of intellect.

Health › Babcock University Hospital Performs Knee Replacement Surgery On 70 Year Old by HigherEd(op): 2:51pm On Mar 04, 2019
Babcock University performs knee replacement surgery on 70-year-old.

Babcock University Teaching Hospital says it has successfully carried out a complex total knee replacement surgery on an elderly male patient.
This was contained in a statement by Joshua Suleiman, Director, Marketing and Communication, Babcock University.

The patient, aged 70, and who requested anonymity, was said to have had features of bilateral severe osteoarthritis and a previous history of right patellectomy.

Dr. Kelechukwu Onuoha, Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, who supervised the surgery, said he had evaluated the patient for a right complex posterior stabilising Total Knee Replacement.

According to him, the surgery was carried out on February 11 under the combined spinal/epidural anaesthesia, and it lasted not less than three hours.
Onuoha said the implant instruments and power tools for the surgery were supplied by Zimmer Biomet, an American company with regional headquarters in South Africa.

He said: “The next plan is for the patient to go for rehabilitation for a period of two to three months and return for the second surgery on the left knee.
“‘’The patient, who had a smooth post-operative recovery and rehabilitation was discharged after five days.

“The patient is also doing very well and can now live a normal life and walk straight.”

On the risks associated with the surgery, the surgeon noted that the patient’s age, body size and blood pressure level were of concern to the medical team.
However, there were no complications throughout the duration of the operation.

Babcock University is owned and run by the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Please shut up! You don't feed an horrible demonic desire you treat it. Pedophilia, homosexuality are in the least pyschological problems and should be treated as such. Not encouraged, and this in no way protects little children from pedophiles. Would you be comfortable if your child teacher owns a doll he has sex withhuh

sureheaven:
If this is one of the best solution to pedophiliac attitude, then it's a welcome idea.

It should be introduced to Nigeria because the rate of under age raping is worrisome.
The moral depravity in the west is becoming alarming. They've normalised homosexuality, now normalising pedophilia and may soon normalise bestiality.

Prayer allowed the vice president's Plane Crash, so god could save the man and destroy the helicopter so that the vice president could testify and god stroke his ego for saving him? huh

Apologies to all faithfuls (christians especially), I don't mean to bring whatever or whoever you worship to ridicule. However when it has to with government everyone is involved irrespective of belief and as such we have to be more logical.

I hope this answers your mentions
A govt that works couldn't prevent 9/11 from happening.

A govt that works couldn't stop thousands from dying in the Fukushima Tsunami

Let me educate you since you refuse to be smart..,a board of directors for a publicly quoted company like banks are nominated by the stakeholders or share holders to govern the affairs of the corporation but board of directors for a limited liability or private company are actually the shareholders hence in the CAC it carries the total allocated shares but for an NGO it's called board of trustees and if you have seen actual CAC registration of churches you will understand.

Board of trustees for this churches function in the same capacity as shareholders hence I used the words interchangeable in my previous post...it's like saying a principal for a secondary school and head teacher for primary school and vice chancellor for a uni grin..same roles different preview...

A banker in the house can assist me to clear your ignorance..most churches have the names of their wife and children as the board as I'm privy to churches CAC being an account officer of a commercial bank for some years grin

But as the churches grow and they branch out they include other trustees for new enterprises like say XYZ CHURCH UNITED owned by XYZ CHURCH WORLDWIDE which originally has the church founder and his family as trustees.....so in essense XYZ CHURCH WORLDWIDE owns XYZ CHURCH UNITED.....now LFC CHURCH owns the school but who are the trustees of LFC and who is the principal...Oyedepo is the owner of winners sir beleive it or not...his the owner of all the school and everything..,abi iz it for you family grin grin

There is always a parent company or church name 5HAT every other thing is linked back to grin..even if CU is registered and the board of trustees does not have Oyedepo name,,,CU is owned by a parent body that has OYEDEPO sitting as the principal office of the board of trustee wink..that's how it works like shell companies..you have to unveil all the shells to get the actual owner the purpose is to deceive uninformed people like you who think the church is owned by Father Son and Holy Spirit cheesy grin grin

Brain washed individual
You are still a fool. A BOD does not have to be a shareholder. A shareholder is part owner of a for profit company with allocated stakes - he may or may not be part of the management of the company.

A board of director is a member of the governing board of the company and is comparable to a trustee. A trustee and director are appointed and can be sacked. A shareholder cannot be sacked.
That a church has trustees doesn't equate it with a stakeholder or does it connote for profit.

For example Elumelu can be sacked as a director of UBA but he can't be removed as the majority shareholder.

This invariably means Oyedepo can be sacked by the trustees of winners if they desire to, making any claims to the church properties illegitimate.
Even a mosque has trustees registered with CAC but I don't expect you to understand that.
Christianity Etc › Re: A Christian Perspective To Nation Building By Deji Yesufu by HigherEd: 8:00am On Mar 03, 2019

I maintain that you op are very limited in knowledge..

Churches that are registered in Nigeria under the CAC are registered as Incorporated Trustees and therefore fall under the NGO categorization
NGOs and CSOs are supposed to be governed and managed by what is known as a Board of Trustees. These are the equivalent of what a shareholder/director would be in an incorporated company. The Trustees of an NGO or a CSO are responsible for the management and direction of the association.

So when i meant shareholders i meant board of trustees which always has their names in order of priority or prinicipal role of the NGO..

Learn bro..learn...
slowpoke, a board of trustee is not equivalent to a shareholder in a company. It is equivalent at best to a board of director. Stop displaying wholesale ignorance everywhere.
