DeSepiero:In the context of our prevailing economic conditions as a nation it is clear that prosperity messages would easily fly in Naija than in the US. Yet Copeland preaches prosperity in a country that is prosperous and is accepted by his 13,000 congregation. Of course Oyedepo must have even preached prosperity or tithing in Copeland's american church yet they didn't reject it. So what are you saying? |
And so it is America has lost almost all of its Christian Principalities within the past few decades. From Oral Roberts to Hagin, TL Osborne and now Billy and many other servants of Christ. Graham's death marks a new era where God would begin to show off new Generals to lead his people- Another wave of revivalist is coming to America. USA would never go down! May God Gift America another that is twice of Billy Graham's grace and anointing. |
Well done good and faithful servant': Motorcade carrying Billy Graham's body travels thru North Carolina Thousands of people lined city streets and interstate freeways Saturday to pay their respects to the Rev. Billy Graham as a motorcade took his body from the Cove outside Asheville to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte. People along the road adopted all sorts of postures as the Graham motorcade passed. Most commonly, people simply held up their smart phone to get video or a photo. But clearly for many people, seeing the hearse carrying Graham’s body was much more than a matter of curiosity. Graham died Wednesday at his home in Montreat at age 99. The faces of those along the motorcade route made it clear that the evangelist had touched thousands of people in North Carolina, not to mention the lives of millions he affected during crusades around the world. One woman in Black Mountain held both arms high over her head, her eyes full of tears, and said, “Thank you, God.” Some held Bibles aloft, some raised an arm with their palm toward the hearse in worship and a couple of people held up wooden crosses. Many people doffed their hats or caps and held them over their hearts, often with a phone or camera in their other hand. Church was in session along State Street in Black Mountain. People read from Bibles and sang hymns. They quoted scripture and talked about their favorite memories from Graham's crusades. An evangelistic Christian men's group of 29 happened to be in town for their annual retreat, which takes place in Montreat. The "interdenominational, inter-generational, interracial" group was honored to say goodbye to Graham, said member Robert Cely. "He was a great evangelist, a great man and a great American," he said. "You can't really be a believer today without having been influenced in some way by Billy Graham, even if you don't realize it." One man held his palms together as if in prayer. Another appeared to be crossing himself. Many saluted, some wearing uniforms, some not. Some waved. Two women knelt by the side of the road in Black Mountain. Lynda Davis, 69, a gospel singer who has lived in Black Mountain her entire life, says she met Billy Graham after singing at the funeral of one of his groundskeepers 22 years ago. Today she came to sing for Billy, she said. “What a blessing," Davis said through tears as the motorcade drew near. "My heart is pounding. It’s bittersweet, but I know I’ll see him again.” Some people looked solemn. Others, like Davis, were jubilant. Davis had planned to sing "Just As I Am," one of Graham's favorite songs with which he closed many of his crusades, as the motorcade passed. When the people around her began singing "Amazing Grace" instead, Davis joined them. "I'm not going to holler at him," she said. "I'm going to sing to pay my respect to the greatest preacher who ever lived." Davis and her husband, Terry, carried with them a neon yellow sign that said Graham's new address was heaven. About 250 family, friends and staffers attended a private prayer service Saturday morning before the motorcade left the facility called the Billy Graham Training Center, at about 11:05 a.m. Saturday. The motorcade passed through both downtown Black Mountain and downtown Charlotte. Jim Spencer, an employee of Town Hardware in Black Mountain, said he'd never seen so many people lining the streets. Not even the Christmas parade could compete, he said. "He was a man that the world loved, that's for sure," Spencer said. The crowds were largest in Black Mountain and Charlotte, where Graham grew up, but they were big in most places along the route. It is difficult to estimate the total number of people, but 10,000 is a reasonable guess and the figure could easily be larger. At one bridge, signs reading "Thank you for preaching in ..." were attached to the side of the bridge. Below hung signs from perhaps a dozen countries around the globe where Graham had led a crusade. A few people clapped, some gave a thumbs up or flashed a peace sign and many just stood solemnly. Many American and Christian flags were along the route and there were all sorts of signs: "#Welldone," "We love Billy," "Thank you God for Billy Graham," "Thank you for teaching us to love Christ," and in Charlotte, "Welcome Home." In Charlotte, a couple and their young children each held a sign with a word from the most common message seen: "Well done good and faithful servant." It was undoubtedly written on the hearts of many who watched the motorcade as well. Graham is to be buried at the Billy Graham Library on March 2. His body will first lie in state in the rotunda of the Capitol in Washington, D.C., next week. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1289201214557080&id=444807728996437

DeSepiero:Are his members more learned than members of K. Copeland's church or creflo dollar's church? |
He should ask why the church didn't ressurect Stephen na |
DakhnRaul:Well the picture was taken about a week ago. |
Gobia:Are you referring to the second gate of Covenant university which leads directly to the stadium and is usually locked? As for housing, Canaancity is for housing and not canaanland. And yes most houses in Canaanland are rented spaces. |
Amen o. Let the revival reach naija too o |
mayorall:Thank you I have corrected the post. |
rhymz:Lol sit down and be watching. They claim the pentecostals are the ones who are greedy. But how come yaya bello couldn't distinguish between Catholicism and Pentecostalism and instead attacked Catholic bishops and called them "tithe looters". See ehn don't ever belief that it is the reputation of Pentecostals that is going to be destroyed. No, not at all. Ppl are not loosing hope in Pentecostals only but in churches generally. |
HeyCorleone:HeyCorleone you haven't still changed ur ways. Always running after pastors to condemn. Jesus loves you my brother.... |
Gobia:The mandate estate you are talking about contains quite a number of houses belonging to different people. I don't know about any road Oyedepo passes alone o. |
kunnadej:This is the car I'm talking about. This is his personal car. They also convey him via jeep but this silver car he has been using for long.
|
Boomark:I know you spent money while attending the program. But are you saying you haven't paid money for the WOFBI program itself because pastor waived the fees for you? |
evanso6226: ![]() For some reason I just belief Lautech and Arsenal would fit. And the common denominator would be inconsistency, disappointment, instability and emotional dissaray of anyone connected to them in one shape or form. |
Lol Lalasticlala o ![]() Pls which football club is Lautech and Olabisi Onabanjo Uni? ![]() |
"Meanwhile, Bishop David Oyedepo is planning to add another one to his fleet.I would tell you that there is little wrong in the prosperity that Oyedepo preaches 1) I have never seen Oyedepo on TV asking for anybody to give to his ministry, schools etc..... 2) I have seen Oyedepo's car before(the one he drives himself). He has been using the same silver car for about three years or so. While I don't know the model, it is a very average car. Seen his house too and sitting room - very very average. 3) As per jet, Benny does not have 6,000 branched churches, Schools to administrate over, Oyedepo does. Ghana branches of Living Faith alone is 150 scattered everywhere. In one particular month he visited 27 countries hence his ministry requires it not as a luxury but a quick means of transportation. So hey it depends on how large and centralised a ministry is and living faith leadership appears to be very centralised. 4) Oyedepo always talks about the limitations of the prosperity gospel but ppl never listen to that they only pick what they want to pick. Even Kenneth Hagin once conformed that "there is a thin line between the permissible and the objectionable when it comes to issues of financial prosperity". 5) Oyedepo doesn't actually have 150 million USD in his account- he just believes it is an insult to equate the worth of a believer to a sum of 150 million. 6) I have visited all kinds of Churches and I tell you Offerings in WC is just once. Apart from special services. 7) If you like slander Oyedepo for preaching tithe or claim tithing is irrelevant. All I know is that Living Faith pays tithes of Billions to another large ministry in Nigeria every month. It takes a man of conviction to do that. Now if there is anything that frustrates me about Bishop Oyedepo, it is that he refuses to care about his image or even lies put out there against him. Same for pa Adeboye. See how Joseph Prince quickly cleared himself from the yeye Forbes list. Now I am not bothered that Oyedepo and Adeboye are being insulted or mocked but my issue is how it can easily affect baby believers who are easily tilted. And if major pastors are left to be attacked consistently on social media, it is the root of Christianity that would shake In years to come both the catholics, orthodox and Pentecostals would all suffer for all these unchecked attacks and backbiting within d church. Christianity in general might become more difficult to practice in a few years in this country because the devil has laid a ground work by trying to delegitimise every "who" is "who" in Christianedom and when those folks who are being attacked go on to be with the Lord, we the rest would be dealing with a society that is unreceptive I pray for the next generations of Christians in Nigeria because they might suffer from the foolishness of we their predecessors. Lastly as a Christian I won't criticize any other Christian for using a jet because I know fully well that if I had the money and require it then I would buy it. Whatever is unlawful for the pastor is unlawful for every other christian. If a pastor can't be rich then all Christians can't be rich either, if a pastor can't own a jet then no christian can own a jet. For me, I maintain that a private jet is nothing more different than a private car. NB: Please don't bother quoting me for slander, if you don't agree just talk your own comot for NL, I no get time for argument till 2am midnite. |
How much did you pay for the WOFBI course? I don't actually see any deception here Sir |
Awesome. Majority of them look so young tho, exactly what I saw in landmark too - many of them are 15/16 years of age and some of these private unis don't accept people that r above 21. Lalasticlala |
wirinet:More ridiculous arguments from angry unbelievers I'm actually enjoying this. Let me dedicate today to respond to you guys usual folly. At least now we've moved away from disputing the positive relevance of Christianity to the intricate values of Christianedom. 1) Christianity and Judaism are two separate religions entirely. Christianity has never endorsed animal sacrifices and anyone who practices animal sacrifices is not even a Christian. Jesus was the only human sacrifice ever recorded in the Bible. But hey in the real physical sense of it he was actually nailed and killed by the Romans. 2) The forefathers of the Colonialist also needed Jesus. What you've just accused them of doing is prove that no race is ever inherently good. Prior to the invasion of Europe with Christianity, Europe was also filled with horrendous practices: sorcery, clairvoyance, oppression of minorities etc but we thank God they were liberated early enough. I'll respond to your remaining ridiculous points when I have time. I don't tire sef, but u ppl are seriously too weak arguments. |
This is who I am voting for. I don't even care whether he stands a chance or not. |
Really good. I wish the matriculants success in all their endeavours. I really do like how private universities are springing up, in time we hope many of them would be world class. |
America escaped all these wahala by not owning federal schoolsschools and choosing to fund private unis |
DejiSantos:Lol this guy you are very illogical 1) point one is just like saying that since a Christian was caught raping someone then Christianity endorses rape. People can do things based on many factors that are different from the religion they bear. Whether the countries who sponsored Biafran war were Christian or not is completely irrelevant as long as the war was not inspired by the bible or the Church... 3) Monogamy is the most major step towards equality. Christianity made it clear that women were not properties to be acquired and discarded as most major cultures did including the majority of African Cultures and religion. By mandating christian men to marry one wive each Christianity was ushering in an era of freedom for women where they can enter monogamist relationships without fear of competing for love or attention for their kids... 4) Foolish talk once again, Children have also been accused of Witchcraft here in Africa even before the White Men accepted Christianity. Terms like "Ogbanje", " Emere" are totally indigenous African concepts to refer to children that are possessed of witchcraft. And thanks to Christianity the practice of these indigenous religions have waned. 5) Maybe because no one born of a woman would have dared affiliate themselves with homosexuality. Up till the early 2000s most Africans never knew anything about modern day homosexual practice not to even talk of persecuting them. My first knowledge of Homosexual marriages was in 2006 when I read a JW awake publication and I could remember being astonished that gay ppl truly existed. But make no doubt about it, African religions prior to Christianity would have crucified anyone who came out to claim homosexuality. |
Masama:Lol as in ehn. Graham is reportedly worth about 25 million USD but let them mention Adeboye in the same sentence as $1 million and freeze and his minions would rant for eternity. Graham also handed over his ministry to his Son yet everyone is minding their business but if na Oyedepo now we won't hear the last of it. Even by people who have never attended his ministry. You see the pull him down syndrome and envy is just too strong in Nigeria... .. |
Wawu OMA ga o. America is one of the wisest nations for avoiding to own federal universities but instead choosing to fund private universities like Howard, Harvard, MIT and the likes. This inadvertently protects USA from industrial actions that can cripple university education. Lalasticlala |
PurpleNneoma:Don't be foolish, all the points I have raised are activities emanating from the part and parcel of christian dogma. What has Christianity got to do with a political biafran war which never had a religious undertone. Shall we say America(a mostly christian nation) was trying to kill Igbos(a mostly christian tribe) for being Christian. Christianity arrived our shores through missionaries who left all in their countries to come evangelise here. I don't know which missionaries massacred anyone in Nigerian history. But I'm not surprised that you would cook up that story as most Atheist are pathetic liars. Christianity amongst many religions of the Earth encouraged Monogamy from the onset in belief that men and women are equal. Does your daft mind not see that the majority of Countries with proper women's rights are countries which largely embraced/embrace Christianity. Why is there a sharp contrast between women rights in Europe, NAmerica and South America(all christian dominated till this day) and Saudi, Pakistan, Indonesia (all Muslim state till this day). "Ask little children who have been labeled witches and abused how civilised Christianity is?" Sincerly speaking what type of cheap drugs are you on? Are you telling me children weren't labelled witches before Christianity came into Nigeria. In the case of traditional laced Christianity where maybe children are labelled witches then we would be talking about Nigerian partly held indigenous religions polluting the christian one. Again you seem to try to be deliberately deceptive. Was homosexuality accepted in Nigerian cultures or religions before the entry of Christianity? In today's society if you are found to be homosexual there are advocates who would cite the bible verse "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". But if you were found as Homosexual prior to the era of Christianity you probably would have your head sacrificed to a banana tree by locals. |
Graham is a legend indeed. |
Sorry to say but the pope needs to read the bible. |

bizme:Give me the direct verse and scripture where it says Tithing has been outlawed. Don't bother trying to conjure non relevant scriptures, if you can show me right now any verse whatsoever where it says we should not tithe I would belief you and drop my belief of Tithing forever. As you said, the Bible's opinion is all that matters, yet all MENTIONS of the Word Tithing in the bible from Genesis to Revelation has been in favour of paying it. No need for any unnecessary argument, just show me One single verse from any part of the bible, either in Old Testament or New Testament which says not to Tithe. |
There are just two questions here Does latter rain church take Tithes or not? If latter rain takes tithes then the next question is how is it more compulsory to pay tithe in rccg, winners, christ embassy than it is in latter rain? In this era where churches in Nigeria are being bashed for collecting tithes which is a type of offering, it is easier to point fingers that some people are the problems. But me us search our hearts and be truthful and logical in all our conversations. Now I don't know what people regard as constituting compulsion in regards to Tithing but I would say that most churches encourage or urge tithing rather than compel it. |
