Some of our innovations are going to cause us trouble in the future. When machine takes away all the jobs why shall man eat from |
Judolisco:Well there is not one Rich pastor out there than can translate all the poor members from poverty into middle class or wealth. So your advice should be directed at wealthy christians and not necessarily pastors. Plus the percentage of pastors that are very economically buoyant are less than 1% of the entire pastorate population. The majority of pastors are usually of the average family income of the congregations they pastor. But as far as liberating peoples mentality to open themselves to creativity and hardwork, I can tell you some pastors are leading the way. I recently litstened to one of Adeyemi's messages on finance and I could only conclude that if you are a member of Daystar and you are poor then it is most likely your fault. I have listened to Oyedepo on a number of business messages and I could only think that if I enact that admonition he gave out then I would have no choice than to succeed. That in itself is worth more than giving me fish... But note this, Christ commandment is that we feed, clothe the poor- I believe we should do this as Christians. But in a continent with so many poor people I think we should also work towards pointing the way of prosperity to our government and people. |
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara, as the 162nd university in Nigeria. Executive Secretary of the Commission, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, who announced the approval of the university yesterday in Abuja when Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, visited the NUC to present the strategic document for the establishment of the university, said the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), TETFund and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) had been appropriately informed about the activities of the university, adding that the approval is for immediate effect. He noted that before now, Zamfara was the last state in the country to establish a university. “Every Nigerian will see the merit of long planning when the university becomes fully operational,” he said. Rasheed, who commended the governor for his initiative in establishing a world class university, stated that the most concentration of universities in Nigeria are in the southern part of the country. Meanwhile, the governor has approved N3 billion for the initial take-off of the university. Yari, who said the dream of Zamfara to establish a university was as old as the state, stated that there was a need for university education to be made available for all irrespective of their social background. He, therefore, expressed delight that the old aspiration of establishing a university by the state was realised during his administration. https://m.guardian.ng/news/nuc-approves-zamfara-state-university-governor-okays-n3b-for-take-off/ Lalasticlala |
Well if you are his follower I hope you can ask him for free education and free healthcare since he is going to be taking offerings from POOR Followers. |
Churches have been running educational facilities way before many modern governments and have been doing it fantastically. Universities like Georgetown, Notre dame are testament to the good handling of the educational sector by the church. However it seems this policy is being challenged by the Islamic wing and may have been directed to them. In any case Sweden should be explicit by naming out Islam ic schools and not lumping church schools into unnecessary controversies all in a bid to cover face. |
SammieJayh:Good choice! I am 1000% sure you would get both of them. Just choose the one you feel would be comfortable for u. |
SpoiltVirgin:Hmm I believe he would be admitted. Though Comp Engineering is quite competitive but he would have an edge for choosing them as first choice. I wish him success at the Post UTME. And you are right. In the next few years I hope some of these schools won't close down due to low subscription and their unsustainability.. |
Cool! Number 5, 6, 34, 35, 44, 46 and 57 are universities to watch out for. Lalasticlala SpoiltVirgin |
Are you sure they were invited? |
March 12, 2018: 20 Years After Archbishop Benson Andrew Idahosa: The man who vividly described his death. By Leke Beecroft Today makes it 20 years that the icon and ambassador of the gospel of Christ to the world, Benson Idahosa departed suddenly. He continues to speak loudly even in death. What many do not know is that he actually described in vivid terms how he was to depart when his time was over and that was exactly what happened on the day he died at the ripe young age of 59 years and 6 months. Leke Beecroft brings together the description by Idahosa in one of his sermons “Benefit of Death” of his death with the day he actually died as documented in The Week magazine editions of 17 and 30 March 1998 for the first time ever in his forthcoming book, as yet another evidence that as controversial as he might have seemed, truly, Idahosa was a man of God. “I will go when my work is finished; therefore when I am gone nobody should be double-minded concerning the will of God for my death. I am going to go by the will of God, not the will of witches or wizards. No man can kill me. Many have tried to hurt me spiritually and physically to no avail. God has not given the key of the vault in which he has hidden me to any man or devil. He did not invest so much in me only to hand me over to the devil to fulfil his dark and unholy idiosyncracies. I am indestructible by the grace of God, so are you if you know my Jesus. You know, here in Edo land, I do not know about you and where you come from, but here in Edo land, where I am from, when a man dies, the wife is always accused of having killed him. I share a beautiful life with my wife Margaret, at least as beautiful as my human nature and God’s grace in my life can make it. She is not dreaming of killing me-she is the flesh of my flesh and bone of my bones, the wife of my youth and the mother of my lovely four children. No, when I go it will be by the will and call of God. You may ask if I am preparing to die. Not at all. I hope to live for at least one hundred and twenty years. I look forward to when I will hobble into the church with my walking stick and sit back on my big chair to listen and watch my children in the ministry show forth the stuff which God has invested in them through the ministry of God committed to me. But, and this is the big But… if the Lord calls me before then, if He calls me NOW, I am ready to answer ‘’Here I am O Lord’’ with joy and expectation because death is gain. Yes, yes! Ha, I see heaven open and the voice that I hear says ‘’Come up hither!’’ ……………………………………………………………………………………………… My going will be a Glorious one, I will NOT be sick and be taken from one hospital to the other. Like Elijah, whew! I will be gone before you can say Jack Robinson… No. Nobody will mourn me with regret because of a prolonged illness. Nobody will have the pleasure of sympathising with me because of long suffering; that is one of the gifts which I do not have: the gift of Lo-o-ong suffering! When my day comes, I may be sitting with people in the Church and will go when I hear the call like Rev. Gordon Lindsay did. It is a glorious way to depart. I MAY BE WITH PEOPLE AT HOME AND WHILE WE ARE TALKING, I WILL BE GONE JUST LIKE THAT. That will be a precious death”. Archbishop Benson Andrew Idahosa On Thursday, the 12th March, 1998, Idahosa started the day as busy as always. In his office he asked for a cup of tea which he did not drink up. He told one of his staff members; ‘’I am going home’’. This was not strange. But when he repeated it unnecessarily, there was a reason to suspect the unusual but no notice was taken of it. Later that afternoon, at lunch with his guests, he spoke about heaven. He asked them whether they believed it was possible for one to walk to heaven like Elijah did? He said he would prefer to be translated like Enoch and Elijah. He told them he had a heavenly drink in his cup. He took the “pure heaven” juice on the table and drank from it, making a humorous statement about going to heaven. The drink tasted like heaven’s drink he told his guests. His high sense of humour was on parade. On that day he had received "members of an educational foundation team from the U.S.-based Oral Roberts University" at the Christian Faith University after ministering in church. He excused himself to go to Miracle Centre, his Church office and prayed with different segments of people at the Church Office and including the Bible School students before he went back to meet his guests at home. It was a busy period at the headquarters of CGMII, the Archbishop had just returned from one of his many tours, this time from the UK. Members of the Oral Robert University Educational Fellowship (OREF) were at the headquarters of Word of Faith Group of Schools for the yearly OREF program. They were led by Professor Don Petri, a friend of the Benson Idahosa University and a Professor of Christian Education at the Oral Robert University. Both he and all the American participants at the conference were guests at the Archbishop’s home. It was an early afternoon and Idahosa and his guests were at the table. A characteristic humour of the Archbishop eliciting laughter and chatter punched with the lunch. It was a sumptuous meal and both local and international guests were satisfied. Then a fruit juice was passed around in packets of which were printed the brand name “pure heaven”. The caption started another round of conversation. It was about heaven. Then suddenly, there was a hush as the archbishop broke into the good natured conversation and asked. “how many of you are ready to go to heaven right now? You see he continued; “all Christians talk about heaven and its beauty and desirability but not one is prepared to go there straight away”. I have news for you. I am prepared to go to heaven right now, anyone going with me? Everyone was silent. The mood of the diners changed and went to their rooms. The Archbishop called for Professor Don Petri to join him in one of the mainly sitting rooms in the new Benson Idahosa University. He indicated those aspects of the master plan he had implemented and requested the professor to continue from where he was ending. Yet Professor Don Petri did not understand the meaning of the Archbishop’s words. The Archbishop was the symbol of the university. It could not have entered the mind of anybody that he would be translated a few minutes after. Shortly after he had spoken instructing a deaconess on what the guests should eat for dinner, he began to repeat the words ‘Thank you Jesus’ then suddenly threw his head back on the easy chair and gave up the ghost. Professor Don Petri did not immediately understand until he saw the body slumping off the chair then Don Petri rushed at him calling for help and laying him on the rug. He tried all the resuscitation techniques that he knew but to no avail, they called for help from the Faith MediPlex but the doctors testified that from the moment he hissed that sigh of relief, he had clearly departed. His going was an air of finality which the doctors knew but could not admit. He was not sick. He never had high blood pressure. He was never down. Even the doctors were surprised that he died because he was not sick at all”. “I MAY BE WITH PEOPLE AT HOME AND WHILE WE ARE TALKING, I WILL BE GONE JUST LIKE THAT. That will be a precious death”. Archbishop Benson Idahosa, the undisputed prophet and apostle of Christendom in the twentieth century was gone. 1) Covenant Uni 2) NDA 3) FUNAI Nice! |
elsse:I believe that is the Medical Fee(10k) - transferrable as long as you don't use it at any level. Caution fee is 20 or 25k and is refundable. Maybe WiFi and other non academic/non essential services could also fall into the category of "other component". But certainly the one removed(which is tuition) would be about 60-80% of initial school fees. I know this cos we paid for my sister some few months ago. iamJ:See Goat! From the very first day Landmark came into existence in 2011 it has been the largest scholarship giving Private University - Especially Agric. And this is because the School is an Agriculture based private university. Much of Landmark is also funded directly by the church and its farm sales... And No if Oyedepo saw Agriculture as useless he won't spend over N9 billion(>30 billion total) in building a University for it while not offering courses for Law and Medicine. |
Henceforth Courses Including Crop Science, Animal Science, Agric Extension & Rural Development, Agric Economics, Agribusiness Management, Environmental & Natural Resource Economics, Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Tourism and Recreation, Horticulture and Landscape management would now be run free of charge as the Chancellor, Bishop Oyedepo instructs the university to remove Tuition for all her Agric programs.

Benz4pimp:And mind you America has over 380,000 churches |
Benz4pimp:And how has that got to do with churches. If your life is miserable because of the govt you elected then blame the govt. In which country of the world has churches turnaround the economy of the nation...think before u talk... |
Before anyone comes to tell us the usual story of how we should be building industries and not churches.. Pls note that the aim of the church is to further everything related to the church. People who give to church don't give to church to "improve" Nigeria but the Gospel. So pls channel your frustration to your elected govt officials who are responsible for improving Nigeria. If you want churches to improve Nigeria, then let's hand over the VAT, Pet Tax, CIT, PayE, Wharf etc to rccg or lfc church because the way it looks as though the churches are managing themselves better than how govt is managing our lives. |

onatisi:Thank you so much. When I read this headline yesterday I was so bothered that I didn't just want to open it. Only to find out the topic had changed this morning. |
Dis op na mumu. |
Even Jesus Christ refused to throw himself over a cliff for this kind of nonsense demonstration. *sigh |

You people have recycled this message for how many times now ![]() |
You see initially I didn't want to respond to this but on a second thought.... Much like every other message in Christianity you can go too far. You can go too far with the Holiness message that it turns to Legalism, You can go too far with the Grace message that it turns to Lasciviousness, You can also go too far with the Prosperity message that you enter into Greed. As Kenneth Hagin would advocate, let there be a balance. Kenneth Hagin of blessed memory was one of those who advocated for prosperity but in the 90s it was reported that Hagin was concerned about how extreme some of his proteges had gone and that resulted in him organizing a meeting where he called them and rebuked some of their teachings or extremism. He later wrote a book called "the midas touch" where he gave a very balanced biblical viewpoint on Financial Prosperity. Benny Hinn's statement is sadly reason for new generational Christians to question church leaders. And I henceforth promise myself to be very scrutinizing when sermons regarding financial prosperity are dished out. Nonetheless I believe still that Prosperity is God's will for his children. |
Now you've left Pentecostals to start 'dealing' with Catholics. |
writeprof:Really! I never knew UCH Ibadan ever had any affiliation to such Jewish symbols. As regards the star of David being used as an emblem by gangs. It would also be important to point out that even Cross emblem has been used by ungodly groups e.g KKK. |
Send it to your local church even if it is a rich church. |
myk2mic:Lol you started telling us unsolicited stories of how you studied in Triest as though that validated your rubbish point. Who cares if you studied in Lampedusa Get off your high horse and stop telling us unsolicited stories because no one here initially compared CU to Italian Universities.. |
asorocker:Pls shut your opinion into that sewage you call a throat. |
daveP:Guy how foolish can you really be. My initial post was based on how Americans honored Billy Graham(Both Govt and Citizenry) without bringing up trivial nonsense to muddy his name like some demonized folks like you do on the internet. And mind you Nigeria is not an exclusively Christian Country, but of recent no serious candidate ever attempts to run for presidency before reaching Redemption camp-even the Muslims. And yes even David Cameron, Theresa May paid Homage to Adeboye so stop quoting me to talk nonsense about Clinton or what have you |
The idiot wants to cross Nigeria into International space in his foolishness. But unfortunately for him, he is a learner and won't even make it to top 100 notable people who criticise Pastors for a living in USA. Higher ranked idiots like Dawking have gone after Christianity itself and no american has time for debating Christian dogma unless you are willing to attack God himself. So you might as well show your full character to enter into the American market for attention seeking and not waste your time going after pastors who don't even know you exist. |
