daveP:You've talked like an Ignorant person. One can argue that Adeboye is actually relevant to some degree in the political space. That's undisputable. You talk about salvation. Do you know how many have giving their lives under ministration of Adeboye. Do you know how many Muslims today are now members of RCCG. Yes i know some. What you are suffering from is intellectual colonialism resulting in collosal inferiority complex. Lol can you tell me the emphasis of Adeboye, if not for Salvation. You ppl should get sense pls. Your last paragraph is a load of crap that I don't even know where to begin. There are many genuine Christians in Nigeria who have confessed Jesus and Lord and saviour. The American Christians too are not perfect in many ways just like the Nigerian Christians so just stop that nonsense. |
This is how to honor a man of God! Nigerians should learn how to treat Pastors respectably jare. Billy Graham was reportedly worth 25 million USD and he also handed his ministry to his son, Franklin. yet his ppl celebrated him. But here jobless ppl go dey track and blame Oyedepo and Adeboye for all their lives problem. Some of the ppl here screaming RIP would be the first to crase because Oyedepo handed over to his Son. |
myk2mic:You attended a University in a country with 30% unemployment rate and you think we should be clapping for you. Mind you, it is *Covenant and not convenant. Radarada! Also tell your company that is the last installation they would ever have in CU or any affiliated private uni. |
phreakabit:Well those threads are filled with ignorance.... |
The judge is being hilarious. A university should be autonomous and should decide how it would admit folks especially in a case where universities can't trust exams conducted by JAMB. Jamb is the one that should be scrapped not the Universities own. |
I did say that Covenant has changed from ancient architecture to more modern ones. But even religiously symbolic buildings are still very cool and can be high tech. In fact many universities outside the country still have a combination of traditional and futuristic buildings. The likes of Cambridge and co still keep their chapels looking traditional while the interior has all the modern gadgets. For instance the PG hall which I exempted is well futuristic but has no religious meaning (at least that I know of) At your spare time check out University of Notre dame or Pepperdine University and you might like them more than MIT owbabs:While the University seems to be committed to building 'meaningful' buildings there seems to have been a shift away from Religiously symbolic buildings. But if the Proposed Twin CU Tech Hub and Landmark Arrow Head College building is anything to go by then more inspiring structures would still be erected. E.g the PG hall here is very futuristic, same as most other structures coming up in the uni Lalasticlala Desyner

Covenant University Hostels Building Inspiration: The Seven Candle Sticks These are some of the oldest buildings at the university. Each made up of 7 blocks of buildings to represent a candle each. Five of the blocks are visible from either the back or front with the two remaining blocks joining the blocks at the front. "And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.” Rev 1:12-13

Covenant University Hostels: These are some of the First Set of Halls Built at the University where all undergraduate students reside Inspiration: Star Of David Star of David also known as Shield of David or Seal of Solomon is a common symbol in Judaism. The symbol is Present in Isreal's national flag, defense forces flag and ambulances. According to Jews "The six sided figure symbolizes that God rules over the universe and protects us from all six directions: north, south, east, west, up, and down with the middle - the hexagram - providing the spiritual dimension. The Star of David symbol helps remind us that despite our efforts to accomplish in this world, just like God decided that King David would be successful in defeating armies much greater then his own, so too will God help us accomplish our goals." Covenant University Chapel: Inspiration: Crown of David This is one of the Biggest Edifices at the University with a Capacity to house 3,500 - 4,000 worshippers at the Same time. The hall also plays host to the Inaugural lectures, Variety Nights, Convocation and Matriculation events. The chapel is situated at the centre of the University which informs the importance the University places on Spirituality The following crown images after the chapel are search result for "crown of David" It would seem the CU chapel resembles the second crown

One of the exciting things about Canaanland Nigeria is it's acknowledgement of the Jewish roots of Christianedom in the Architecture. To understand the Judeo-Christian inspiration behind Covenant University, we need to first understand the physical context of the university. Canaanland Ota was procured in the 90s and immediately the land was bought the church divided it into four parts of 1) Shiloh: This today is where the faith tabernacle is situated. 2) Moriah: This today is where the Faith Academy is Situated 3) Rehoboat Gilead: This today is where Pastors Reside in Canaanland 4) Hebron: This today is where my Almamater, Covenant University is situated. Today I would be focusing on Hebron or more popularly known as Covenant University - The Birth Place Of Kings and Queens! The Real Hebron is the site of the oldest Jewish community in the world, which dates back to Biblical times. The Book of Genesis relates that Abraham purchased the field where the Tomb of the Patriarchs is located as a burial place for his wife Sarah. According to Jewish tradition, the Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the Matriarchs Sarah, Rebekah, and Leah are buried in the Tomb. Hebron has a long and rich Jewish history. It was one of the first places where the Patriarch Abraham resided after his arrival in Canaan. King David was anointed in Hebron, where he reigned for seven years. Hebron contains many sites of Jewish religious and historical significance, in addition to the Tomb of the Patriarchs. These include the Tombs of Othniel Ben Kenaz (the first Judge of Israel) and Avner Ben Ner (general and confidante to Kings Saul and David), and Ruth and Jesse (great-grandmother and father, respectively, of King David)... Numbers 13:22 states that (Canaanite) Hebron was founded seven years before the Egyptian town of Zoan, i.e. around 1720 BCE, and the ancient (Canaanite and Israelite) city of Hebron was situated at Tel Rumeida. Covenant University today prides herself in training Kings and Queens of Hebron(Put in Mind that Hebron is Where King David became Anointed) hence The So Much Emphasis on Judaist Architecture. Worthy of note is also that Neither Covenant or the affiliate owners(Winners Chapel) convey the practice of Judaism nor honour it's festivals because mainstream Christian Ministries see Judaism as a Predecessor of Christianity and not an Alternate Religion. In many ways Christianity is an Evolution of Judaism hence it is still interesting to see an acknowledgement of the Old Testament or Torah in Covenant University's physical Architecture. |
$56,000 USD was stolen from the Publishing house Cafeteria 1 inside Covenant University as at 2014 made 90 million naira profit after tax and salaries and other expenditure. While Cafeteria 2 made 30 million naira profit after tax yet the church doesn't collect a dime from the school but instead still give the school billions. I am not surprised about the theft though. This I believe is not the first time such a thing would happen. Oyedepo himself once said they have had to sack over 500 pastors in Winners Chapel since inception. I can guess that the majority of those retrenchments were because of financial impropriety and sexual misdeeds. Lalasticlala |
Well Rwanda is a 95% christian country. And if they are doing this then it must be for a good reason. The churches concerned should adjust and meet up with the required regulations and relocate where necessary. Govt should also give them enough time before making such implementations. |
Well he based his assertions on scriptures so I accept it... Though some ministries might disagree sha.. Pastor Chris seems to have a trait of Hagin-they are both good teachers. |
6,000 student for one level is simply too much. Lalasticlala |

CROWNWEALTH019:Adeboye is a Pastor, not your elected leader and one of the responsibilities of a Pastor is to help dedicate whatever project that has been successfully carried out. By individuals, Organizations or the State. It isn't Adeboye's prerogative to tell a Governor of Bayelsa elected by his people what or what not project to engage in. If you call Adeboye to commission a School, Industry, Church or whatever he would come because that is part of his responsibility. And by the way what concerns Adeboye with the worship center built by an Elected Governor of Bayelsa state? Was it Adeboye that requested that the church be built? Is the Worship centre an RCCG branch or what? Does that Church look like a Pentecostal styled worship center or why do you attribute all your life's problems to Pastors in stead of going to the polls and choosing your desired leaders. |
Well people still dragging this Tithe issue as preached by pastors are wasting their time. Some folks are probably celebrating thinking Church finances would start crumbling. But you know what, Churches will always collect money under whatever tagthey want to call it. People in Living Faith for instance pay 'Shiloh Sacrifice' - the thing no dey bible but they pay it non the less. So if you want to give I suggest you give and forget terminology.... |
thesicilian:Nobody has ever called Trump an Antichrist. As a matter of fact, apart from Reagan there are little modern presidents that Evangelical American Christians like. Plus they supported Trump with an Extremist Christian as Vice President. Reason why some of the actual Antichrist govt officials are not looking forward to impeaching Trump. Because that would give way to Pence an Hardcore ProLifer and Anti Gay marriage politician. Lalasticlala |
Eh this one is so desperate to nullify any good deed attributed to a church. |
Well Rwanda is a majority Christian nation with 95% of the entire population being christian. And if they are doing this it must be for a very good reason. The rules regarding building safety and noise pollution are too important to be flouted or overlooked. Let the respective churches adjust to the rules and relocate when necessary. Govt should also give enough time before implementation. |
This one go wound himself o Lalasticlala |

This guy is looking for trouble ![]() |
In decades to come. All these Christian varsities would be blazing trails; finding cures, inventing new technology and expanding the frontiers of learning. We already have the Ebola rapid testing kit, Lassa detection process developed in Redeemers We already have the 'Evolution proof' insecticide developed by Covenant. We have the World Class Agriculture Research Institute and Sustainable Agriculture City being almost delivered by Landmark. We are getting there gradually! Lalasticlala Desyner |

Federal universities are learning quickly that the era of withholding well deserved first class degrees as ended thanks to a very liberal private university system which aims to give it to those who deserve it. There is an understanding now that the current set of folks in the financial sector are from private and federal universities due to their institutions churning out more first and 2.1 degrees in comparison to state universities. But there is still the question of "how first class can one be from a faculty with no first class labs, equipment or even lecturers?" Lalasticlala |
HomeOfMe:Really? I have never heard of that before. Can you tell me more? |
