Politics / Re: A Brief Encounter With General Buhari by highlandre(m): 9:55am On Dec 14, 2012
Whoever thinks we don't need Buhari to help sanitise the system at this crucial time of our collective lives deserves this mess of a governance. Such people are not to complain about their pitiable, self-inflicted miseries.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Protesters Clash In Ghana Over Election Results by highlandre(m): 9:43am On Dec 12, 2012
I bet there was rigging in Ghana's presidential election. The results were an indication: a mere 3% more votes by the incumbent to win the election despite roaring popularity of the opposition leader leaves a question in its wake.

I don't see why Ghanaians shouldn't protest if they feel cheated by their electoral body; isn't protest a reaction to a negative stimulus? Anyway, let's see what the court will say.

Ghanaians should sustain this peaceful protest to register their grievances against what is capable of derailing their democratic lives

That's one of the disadvantages of the underdevelopment of African countries: poor record-keeping and all. Some are already blaming FIFA smh....Our problem in Africa is that we always want to blame others for our woes even when we are the real architect.

I support every alliance and talk to oust this non performing govt come 2015. The truth must be told that GEJ, a perceived good-willed man, does not have the capacity to lead a complex nation like Nigeria. It is common knowledge that actions, not wishful thinking, define the essence of leadership, a quality in short supply in Mr. President.

However, OBJ, Atiku and their likes will never be leaders of this country again, insha Allah! *Heads to church

Religion / Re: Which Church Do You Attend And Why? by highlandre(m): 9:41am On Dec 09, 2012
I attend The Fountain of Life Church because it offers me the chance to serve God the way I love to. Also, there's really no big-man mentality among the congregation. Luckily, the man of God, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya is very humble, and preaches the message the way it is.

Personally, I can go to any church where God and not the pastor, is the focal point!

Techwriter: Some people just don't understand how the kingdom of God operates. This guy will still remaim poor even if Okotie gives him 100 million Naira because of the mindset he is operating with. The same goes with those who attend churches where they pay tithe but goes behind to grumble or come to Nland to complain. Such people don't receive anything.

The road to blessing in this kingdom is honor. He shouldve been seeking for the Man of God's blessing. When Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa died many of his pastors went to meet the wife to pay them what her deceased husband owed them, it was Oyedepo dat came and paid those people off. Today where are those people and where is Oyedepo? Its in observing these kingdom principles dt is d secret behind oyedepos rise and some jobless fellows come here to say he ate tithes

One last example: J. Martins that is popular today is a member of my church Dominion City. He is a well known begger. He used to play keyboard and the church will try to pay him he will refuse and prefer to be begging people money after service. Ask anybody in Dominion City who knew him them. One time my pastor David Ogbueli called him out and prophesied that his musical career will go global. He released his first christian music but did not sale b4 he met P2 by a struck of luck. Today, he is a big boy in terms of cash rising from nothing.

Nlanders u need to undestnd our kingdom; what Isaac gave Jacob was not material but a BLEsSing. It used to be more coveted than the material things. Be faithful wt your tithe for thosr of you who pay and don't grumble

I think you're both a bigot and prejudicial. Were you there when they had an agreement of pay or no-pay? So, why pass judgement on the guy without concrete evidence?

I know people volunteer to work for God, but how many of our pastors work for God for free? Pastors earn heavily from the coffers of church but, other workers should starve to death?

Abeg, I dislike your view point entirely!

Celebrities / Re: Laptops, LCD TVs Given At Sambo’s Daughters’ Wedding by highlandre(m): 11:38pm On Dec 08, 2012
Wedding ceremonies in Nigeria is more than just joining two lovers together. People look up to it not because of love for the couple, but as avenue to get souvenirs, eat voraciously and peruse the latest fashion in town. Some even spend their life savings to impress people who hardly care if the marriage lasts or not.

As for Sambo, whatever money he and his cronies spent to share those laptops, cars and houses must have come one way or the other from our collective resources. God is our redeemer. If you got that, sweet dreams

Politics / Re: Sanusi To FG: Sack 50% Of Civil Servants by highlandre(m): 11:12am On Nov 28, 2012
Sanusi is very right! Nigerians really need to understand issues. The civil service in Nigeria today is a joke: it's an avenue used by politicians to help their families and cronies with job. How many of you can tell me employment into the Civil Service follows merit? Abegi!

Looking closely into Sanusi's suggestions, I'd advise rather sternly that civil servants should not be sacked, but retirement years should be reduced. Once you spend 20 years in the service, be retired. Funny or mean? No! By this approach, a number of unemployed youths would be in place to replace the old, less effective workers. This would lead to palpable reduction in the unemployment situation in the country.

Another aspect of this approach is that those who are retired, having been paid their gratuity, would be able to use such to invest in the economy through various small and medium-scale businesses. In general, every Nigerian, including civil servants, would be able to learn the culture of savings just like the Asians who have evolved into great level of economic reckoning of late.
