Hello everyone,

Please I will appreciate an assistance with a matter that I have been pondering on all day.

I am still here in Nigeria tho and there is this agent who a friend introduced me to. My friend happens to know someone in the UK who he chatted with that he is interested in relocating and she shared a contact with him. She told my friend that she got to the UK through the same agent. She said he doesn’t process UK for now tho that he can help with Canadian Sponsorship Visa and all he has to do is get a form from him first and then follow the steps.

Since I have my passport ready, I decided to reach out to the agent too. I paid for my form and did a lot which includes a statement of account for funds confirmation.

Now since everything was accepted, a text was sent to me from Canada Emb on an appointment date at Abuja which will be in about 2 weeks time from now.

I was scheduled so I decided to ask the agent for things I am meant to bring along with and he then immediately, he sent a text to me. I will paste it here so maybe someone with more experience can help me out because I have not done this before and I don’t know how true it is.

For better explanation, I will paste the message I got from the agent after I received a text from Canada Emb.

I have my doubts tho but please how real is this NON APPEARANCE thing?

“Good morning, I will advise you do non apperance, For non apperance you will not be interview before your visa will be issue, I can direct you to our office in Lagos if you prefer or you can visit our office in Abuja. You will do your biometric and then submit your international passport and your Sponsorship visa will be issue without interview.
Then with DHL, we will send it to you
NON APPEARANCE fee is fifty thousand naira only.

Thanks.”

I got this and I have been thinking how real it is to travel without going to the Embassy.

Someone should please help me here with an opinion.

What u term as merit doesn't even count with the VO. I wrote with my own hands that the POF was a loan from so so and so Financial Institution. Yes I did with proofs. And yes the visa was approved. And you are still here quoting what u know about IRCC.
The Indians are better at this and that's y they are many here they don't quotewhat they know. They approac IRCC with their facts and situation and it's left for the visa officer to accept or reject. Shikena

IRCC deals with each applications differently, I know some of these things are not absolute, anything is possible with IRCC depends on the individual, I know someone who came here as a visitor and POF was not even up to N1m.....I won't go ahead to talk about the details sha.

Even tho it's rare or probably unheard taking of taking a loan for the purpose of visiting, it shouldn't be ruled out.

I understand the importance they place on family but visitor visa is a visitor visa it can work for anybody (based on merit) they will treat ur case based on you, besides family is not the only strong ties one can have in Canada, haven't u seen conference event where people get full scholarship all expenses paid, so loan or no loan make sure whatever you are telling the vo (backed up with proof) will convince him/her

Taking loan is not strange, maybe to u, una too dey fear IRCC lol. Anything is possible with IRCC it just depends on how established you are, your documents and how you package your sop. Most of these Indians they use loan as pof for studies and other purpose of visits

Been in Canada for a while and in my dealings with IRCC I think the code is just be transparent. Waiting on my wife and kids PR application to pull through so I applied for a VV for my wife n two little boys. POF was just $2kCAD which I even explained that she took it as a loan

VV approved 20th July.

That was her first visa she has zero travel history.

In my own opinion just b plain n nothing bogus

As at 24th August…. Canada just did their best with a rejection letter.. I’m not surprise tho… Lmao! Like I submitted all I can like;
- Conference letter and recommendation letter
- 2 land documents in Nigeria
- Bank statement 10k plus euros
- Previous visa and valid visa’s (3 UK visa’s, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Turkey, 2 Kenya, Dubai, Tanzania) I have been to over 14 countries
- 2 Old family photos
- Two Jobs contract letters (Main job and Mini job)
- 5 months pay slips
- Current residence permit
- hotel reservations
- flight reservations
- statement of purpose
- health insurance
- city registration and resident authorization
- house rent contract
(This are the docs that I could remember)

What else do they really want fam! Lol. The funny part was getting the rejection letter after the proposed conference ended 5 days go.

Those few single ladies must be really few or unattractive. Frankly, I have personally met quite a number out there that have me cackling. I wouldnt want to burn my time talking about the obvious but it doesnt even matter who is right or wrong. This is the one thing that I dont advise anyone on. Make every come and live out their convictions. Afterall no be me go help them cope with the outcomes. Life na per head.

It is fine to die single, its not a crime. So long as that is a choice one is happy with. Quite frankly, even some married people today would die single. So me no send who dey lonely or single or not.

What I personally take issue with is folks blackmailing guys with labels. As though we are somehow responsible for the inability of Nigerian ladies finding "decent guys". Last I checked, Nigerians are a minority here. If we are not decent, then they should please marry other nationalities. Afterall, say we come from the same country no mean say we dey betrothed to each other.

Men and women are free to create whatever standards they desire of a partner. Lets forget standards sef. In my experience, the actual problem is does the type of guy you want, want your type of woman? Get past that first. Lord knows there are decent men marrying every now and then in this Canada. I personally have many friends that have in the last 3 years.

You can write up a contract with any terms you fancy but you can not force anyone to sign it. Let alone one that only exploits them esp if they are better served elsewhere. Too many "me, me, all about me" out there and what is astounding is that they dont even notice it. Many atimes, they would rather pass the buck to us. Just like you would never find them ever say any of their past breakup was their fault. It is always somehow men's.

Again, if there are no decent Nigerian men, are Nigerian men the only men in Canada? Or are all the men of other nationalities also not decent? When Nigerian men(esp newly landed guys or guys yet to get a professional job) cant get a nigerian girl to take them seriously, they bite the bullet and go date/marry non Nigerians. No noise, no passing the buck. Same way when folks feel the pool here is too small to give them the exact type of lady they fancy, they go home to marry. Is it not the same permanent resident card that the guys have, our ladies have? Or does the pr card of women forbid them from going home to marry someone?

Dont even act like its a convenient choice for men. The total cost of going home to marry someone and sponsoring her pr, supporting her to find her foot here is downpayment foe a house in some Canadian cities. Mind you its also men that stand a greater risk of being ruined by marriage in Canada(Heck even Canadian men rarely marry these days). Yet, nigerian men take the more torturous route rather than have the ready made here, rather than label the women here. You really think all the men choosing to do that are not decent and do it for no reason?

Them no exile anybody come Canada, if e tire pesin make e go Naija or any country wey e feel say decent men/women dey in abundance.

I applied for canada visit visa on 29th May and had my biometric 10th June for a conference scheduled for 15th to 19th August. during the period which i sent webform and contacted MP. According to MP, my application will be processed in vienna but eligibility has not started.

My question is this; The intended conference is over, which ended today. So, What should i do? withdraw my application or i should just leave it?

this is my first canada application and meanwhile estimated processing time was meant to be 57days

Yes. The super visa won't mean much for your US application. Be prepared to have to deal with the issue of home ties.

I applied for the visa through an agent and i dont have any travel history during the application. So i decided to go on a week holiday to Dubai to atleast build my application. Now i am requesting the agent to send the stamped passport through webform but he has not been responding.

I also included my landed property but agents is saying they are not necessary.

So please can i raise the webform without the agent using my Application no or IUC number.

Also will I receive the update or it will be sent the email address the agent used?

Please i need your advice and guidance on how easy/fast it is to get passport renewed in Canada.

I am due to start my 1 year program in September at UNB Saint John. However, my passport will expire 1st week of february 2023 hence my Visa expiry date is tied to it.

I want to ask if i can start the online renewal process before I leave Nigeria so I can get an appointment once I resume or I should wait till I get there before starting the process. Also, how easily can one got to Ottawa from Saint John?

Good morning all.

Thanks to all who congratulated me. I would like to share my timeline and what i did differently in my 2nd application because i believe this will help someone.

1st Application was submitted 1st Dec 2021
Refusal was recvd 25/2/2022

From my gcm notes i discovered what i did wrong was the fact that i used my brother as additional sponsor. Even though i am self sponsor but i decided to add my brothers account for additional comfort which wasnt necessary after all. I already paid 16kcad for 1st year fees and had sufficient funds to take care of the 2nd year fees and my upkeep in my personal account. The VO's concern with my brothers account was that his payslips werent included and there were lumpsums in his account. Well for some reason my broda didnt want to give me statement of his salary account. He only gave me statement of a join account with his wife where he saves money ( he lives in the USA)

What i did differently

I never wanted to use an agent because of the cost implication and because i believed i could do it myself but i was led by the Holy spirit to use @Frankrobbin. So i decided to go ahead with him, the guy is quite professional i must say though he is so busy that you need to keep calling his attention.

The guy advised me to get professional valuation for my land and building which i did. He also advised that based on my age i shouldn't have bothered with a sponsor outside myself or hubby ( i am over 45yrs). In addition he rearranged all my documents and made them easier for the VO to see all because i had lots of documents.

I highly recommend Frank any day because he is very very professional. I didnt give him breathing space, i must confess that i wanted my application submitted fast fast because my school was meant to Start May 9th.

I also want to appreciate @Anon123, @NorthernshoreLS. NorthernshoreLS thanks a lot, you were the person to 1st advice me to use Frank even though i didnt want to initially. This forum is indeed full of wonderful brothers and sisters.

My prayer is that we shall all get our PPR's soonest in Jesus name.
