Correct me if I'm wrong but if wearing of hijab is compulsory, how come other Muslim ladies did not wear it on that day. How come a whole lot of Muslim ladies don't wear it, normally? I know several. But they dress according to the law of the profession, foregoing the habit in favour of the wig, for their call ceremony. Being a lawyer is by choice. The profession requires critical thinking about freedom, equity and most importantly fundamental human right. US, UK and other advanced nations allow the use of hijab even on uniform by female officers of those nation. Nigeria Muslims decided not to fight for Friday as a work free day basically because it was not compulsory according to the Quran. Even in Israel the two work free days are Friday and Saturday. This is line with the culture, tradition and religion of the generalities of their populace. Church wedding is recognize by the Court while Mosque wedding is not, Muslims in Nigeria are denied so many basic rights. Our Christian brother should also support us in getting our basic rights in as much it doesn't impedes or violates others peoples rights or safety. Thanks

Obanta known by his real name Ogborogamida is the grand son of Olu Iwa the first Awujale who came from Waddai present day Sudan. Over 80% of lands from Oniru up to Epe are owned by the Ijebus. Apapa, Ijora, Ajegunle, Surulere, Mushin, Itinerary, Isolo, Agege up to Ota in Ogun State are owned and controlled by the Aworis. Somolu LGA to Ikorodu are owned by the Ijebus while the Aworis owned the Ikosi up to Berger and beyond.

Now to Lagos Island Chieftaincy titles are shared among the Ijebus, Aworis, Bini and other Yorubas. The Eletus are Ijebu, Onikoyi, Onisiwo and Onisemo are Yoruba from Ile-Ife and Ikoyi-ile. While remaining onces are Aworis except for few once that do not owned lands that can be traced to Bini.

Now to historical locations and names of environments. Idumota, idumagbo and Iduganran were traced to Bini and Ijebu. Iganran means pepper (ata) in Ijebu Language. Idu means way in Bini but station or place in Ijebu. Oko Awo, Ereko, Olowogbowo, Oko Fajitas and Popo Aguda (Campus Area) are all Yoruba words.

Iga means palace in Ijebu.

On a final note the Binis are Yoruba according to history from the story of Prince Ogun, Emotan you will understand the links in their culture and tradition. Binis customs is same as the Ijebus.

Secondly, she has strangely refused to support any effort I try to make for progress. She sees things differently with no better alternative to bring on the table and each time I go ahead, she wants it to fail. she’s a graduate who has also refused to do anything for flimsy reasons, not liking a business type, lack of interest with her certificate, not even to teach as an educationist. And for these reasons, we have remained almost always at loggerheads.

Thirdly, in an effort to find solution to our childlessness, she has frustrated every bit of the attempts. She has refused us exhausting medical options insisting that the problem is spiritual. And on the spiritual options, she has been half- heartedly involved. My parents invited us for prayers with a man of God,we got there on my insistence at least to honour them and she ended up embarrassing everyone including my parents as she vehemently refused to stay back for prayers as advised by the Man, and even accusing me of ganging up with them! That was Oct last year. Even if she didn’t believe the man as she claimed, i thought she should have been polite and respectful about it..

Needless to say, my parents have been hurt with her actions since then and wish I can just divorce her. Most frustrating for me is that presently, I’m observing a month long fasting and prayer period.

Even though she claims to be fasting and praying too, she has refused to go with me for prayers in Church for once. Please advice me on what to do as various thoughts keep running through my mind…

First as a learned person you must exhaust the medical option fully and from trusted professional medical practitioners. There maybe more to it. How does she know that is a spiritual problem and yet unwilling to submit to spiritual process. That if true is a pointer that she may know the reason but decided to waste your time.

Free your mind from any bad luck thing, the lost of job is just one of the challenges of life. Deal with the problem of procreation pragmatically. Ensure that she submitted herself for health checks and be sure you are both sterile. Follow by fertility tests. Be prayerful but you must be practical in all dealings. Nigerians are too spiritual forgetting that majority of God's working are scientific in nature and can be proofed.

Recently, i wrote about my experience with my employer. (now former employer). For those that didn't read the gist, this was how it happened...

I was unfairly sacked by the bank my former employer recruited me for. I already narrated how we had an imbalance of $40000 in the unit i was in my former bank. This led to the eventual dismissal.

I had also explained how i was cleared of this case by the EFCC. Even despite that, my bank still dealt with me and some other guys.

As the popular saying goes, "no about yourself alone" . I only know of myself truly cos i was unfairly thrown of the bank for a case i know nothing about.

I had to resign to fate when the bank asked me to go on the 11th of October, 2017. I returned to my recruiting firm and i made them know all that happened.

I was expecting at least my last salary with the bank on the 21st of October, but unfortunately i didn't get any alert. I was very worried. I put it in a call to my recruiting firm, but the zonal manager couldn't even give me a specific reason why i wasn't paid for the few work i did in October before the dismissal.

I started sending emails to my recruiting firm since i heard my other colleagues that were also dismissed as regards this same missing $40000 were paid their salary for October. My recruiting firm were tossing me around. The zonal manager even said my bank didn't pay me for the October work.

This same recruiting firm hadn't credited my Retirement Savings Account for all the months i worked with them. I actually spent one year and a month before the dismissal. This made to write to Nairaland.

Nairaland gave me a lot of advice. One of the readers of that piece had to go ahead to provide me exceptional professional services via email. We have grown to be friends now even without seeing her. I also took one of the advises that says i should write to PENCOM.

Before i wrote to pencom,i pleaded with them that they should pay my October salary and also credit my RSA, but no one in the firm took me seriously.

I wrote to pencom as regards the unremitted pension for more than one year and i copied this my friend that kept advising via mails. Perhaps, my recruiting firm thought the person i copied asides pencom was another important person. For the first time, my recruiting firm responded when they already saw my mail to pencom.

I wrote the mail to PENCOM on the 18th Nov., my recruiting firm sent a mail on the 20th Nov., to me copying pencom with attachment that my pension has been paid to my pension administrator. My pension administrator also confirmed this payment the next day with series of credit alert showing the eventual remittance.

PENCOM already sent me a mail that they have taken the matter up. This gladens my heart, not because i wanted to embarrass the recruiting firm, but at least to save other colleagues that are still under them to the bank.

This same recruiting firm paid my October salary they lied my bank didn't make provision for yesterday. I already threatened them to write to the office of the public defendant. I guess this prompted the eventual payment.

Don't let go everything especially when you've good evidence. If I hadn't written to PENCOM, my one year pension wouldn't have been paid. If i hadn't threatened them with the office of the public defendant, they wouldn't have paid me the October salary.

Things still work in Nigeria if you go through the proper channel. I have not gotten another job yet, but I'm very convinced i will get one soonest.

Your mum and the senior sibling if not you should reduce family meetings and waiting for decisions from the family. Your nuclear family should choose burial date and start burial arrangements fast. If it through bank transfer kindly make a report at the nearest EFCC office some online fraudsters use to send money into unanimous accounts so as to divert attention, trace and tracking of those behind the crime.

If is through teller then report in writing to your bank so that you can have prove of doing so.

Lagos Island is just about 7% of Lagos landscape yet you see the Islanders claiming ownership of Lagos State. Lagos colony is different from Lagos State. Is Ikeja where we have the State capital ever part of Lagos colony? Bini Kingdom accepted the fact that they were from Ile-Ife, but Islanders because of ignorance will claim they are not Yoruba. Ikorodu and Epe are predominantly Ijebu, Badagry and Ikeja are predominantly Awori followed by Eguns (part of Badagry). Eko occupied by Ijebu and Bini. Eletu Iwase, Eletu Odibo. Erelu, Olumegbon, Onisiwo, Onikoyi, Ologun Atebo, are all titles of High Chiefs in Lagos Island. The meaning of their titles, their historical background can all be traced to Ijebu, Bini, Ikoyi-ile. All rooted historical to Ile-Ife the ancestral home of the Yorubas.

Back to the main issue you have to pay for all the period of stay as a tenant. For the fact that most landlord don't bother doesn't mean you must not pay. I have seen a situation that a tenant owes, after six months quit notice he packed most of his properties but decided to leave a chair just to keep the apartment. The Judge, Honourable Justice Candide Johnson then of Igbosere Lagos High Court ordered that the man should pay for all the period used within 24hours or all his properties including those in the new apartment be confiscated. And if that cannot pay for all his debt he should be reminded in prison. Till the next seven days adjourned date.

Yesterday, one Mr. Kennedy Omokaro who was arrested and charged to court for uprooting his master's cassava - had his bail perfected by human rights activist; Comrade Kola Edokpayi in company with other comrades. According to reports, after uprooting his master's cassava, the man sold it for N3,000 to buy food stuff because his master has not paid him for two months.

According to Kola Edokpayi‎, the young man had already spent three months in Benin Prison before his sister who was frustrated brought the matter to the his notice last weekend through a friend and he swung into action and got the arrested man out of prison within 72 hours.

Speaking after the young man's release from incarceration, Kola Edokpayi said; "I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work".

Thanks for bringing this to our notice. However, we all have very important role to play in changing this MASTER SLAVE attitude of some African employers. Why don't you just call him his employer while use the word Master. With this semantic his employer's ego and oppressive tendencies is being massage.

If it fraud it is better you report to the EFCC to have good recovery of your money. As it is police now there are two options, if you have not being dealing with them in the past, settle for percentage they will scare life out of him to recover the money once they know they have a certain percentage. Else agree that the matter be taken to court and get a lawyer that will be holding brief so that government officials don't spoil your case.

The didn't mean the tenant will not pay for the period granted by the law for the tenant to look for new house. In fact you can get all the money owed even after such have packed out. The problem is that most landlord don't press for this. I have seen where properties of a debtor tenant was confiscated even from the new house he moved to.

The problem could be spiritual but you don't start solving problems using spiritual means alone. Don't you insure any of your trucks? As lucrative transportation business is, it is equally highly vulnerable hence the need for proper insurance cover. You can only term a problem spiritual if it defiles all logical reasonings.

How can you have six trucks without insurance cover, it is like a suicidal mission for your logistics company. How often do you change your truck and replace them or you believe they can last forever?

Practical approach will solve your problem better.
Talk it out with your wife and be good to her. Draw up plan on how to revive your logistics business as you have learnt lessons and with better experience.
Pray and fast about, please do that on your own without approaching any body. If you still have goodwill and integrity among your clients and associates with prayers you can get financial partners. Working for someone with such a salary can not be a way out unless you want to steal.
