Everyday bandit attacks in Nigeria but the World is not interested
It has sadly become a norm...we now see it like part of our daily experience as a country. Most of these killings aren't even seen as newsworthy anymore. cry

Yes, bitter truth. It's happening everyday all over Africa, and most especially Nigeria. A place where security officials would hold umbrella over the head of a foreigner in order to protect him/her from rain.
Exactly
It happens at our local and international airports daily too

A good reason why to be successful is not an option as a Nigerian, but a Necessity
But everyone can't be successful...and also, there are levels to being successful...being a millionaire of maybe 20m worth doesn't guarantee you will be treated differently from normal folks during wartime.

You have to be super rich and popular for you to get preferential treatment in such times

JuanDeDios:
If black people are prevented from boarding trains that were designated to take refugees and you're a black person and you don't have a problem with that, I don't know what to say to you.

You and Reno would be making a bit of sense If only Ukrainians are evacuated first, followed by all others - Europeans, Africans, Arabs, Asians, etc. Here, Africans are being singled out and prevented from boarding trains and are being asked to provide visa to be admitted into a neighbouring country and you're talking about "resources". I hear. Why not extend the same courtesy to South Africans who are merely protecting their "resources" from Nigerians?

We're not saying they should extend free education to Nigerians or share iPhone for them. We're saying that all HUMAN LIVES should be prioritised in a WAR SITUATION. And you're talking about resources. What is wrong with you people?
Please ask them o. Head dey pain some people aswear. I have known and heard first hand how Ukrainians see and treat blacks...but when this senseless war started, I forgot all that, and started drumming support for them...until they started pulling this racial stunt with our people. I would have maybe looked the other way if they had atleast allowed our women and children safe passage...but forcefully ejecting that young woman and her ward from that train breaks my heart
Politics › Re: Stop The Hypocrisy: Ukraine Treated Black Africans Better Than South Africa Did! by humberjade:

You have to consider the fact the majority of Ukrainian citizens are in the middle class. Not same for us. Besides, they treat citizens as virtually equals.

The reason why Nigeria would do that is because 80% of our population are living below average standard of living. So by default, the elite will feel "they have a right" of first preference.

I've grown my mind to first see things as a human of equal and in context before seeing the fact of why the other race does certain things, and I notice we create room for bias on our side.
Well, you might be right to a very large extent, but let's put aside the class thing as Nigerians....it still doesn't erase the fact that white foreigners will be evacuated before Nigerians in the middle and lower classes are allowed to leave. Discriminatory treatments at our various airports and factories are typical examples of what to expect during wartime in Nigeria (God forbid)

Hmm

Nobody is talking about the potential danger this might cause...but most are focused on his courage and positive outlook.

If I really spell out the danger, people will ask me "will you feed the man"?

In saner climes, guys like him are allowed to drive themselves and family only...definitely not for commercial purpose.

This can only happen in a country where nothing is done right...where nothing seems to be working

Hannania:
If Nigeria was in war, obviously it's gonna be It's Citizens before others. We fall to the nearest blink to blame everything on racism. It's not
Nah! I beg to differ...our mumu authorities would still ensure every white or fairer foreigner gets evacuated first, followed by the rich and influential...then much later the masses. Nigerians might later come first before other African countries, but definitely not before the Whites and Chinese in particular, our authorities worship those folks, they can kill even fellow countrymen to protect them.

But apart from the corrupt and slave angle to it, Nigerians are kinda wired to treat visiting foreigners better than we treat ourselves. Bitter but true!

Foreign Affairs › Re: Protesters Around The World Rally In Support Of Ukraine (Photos) by humberjade:
When I mentioned earlier that Ukraine will be left to fight against their foes alone. No one can afford the consequences of going all out against Russia, considering everyone is just trying to come back on their feet post-Covid.

Putin on is part doesn't care about sanctions...he doesn't care about the impact on ordinary Russians, the dude just doesn't want NATO in his backyard...i only pity ordinary Ukrainians.

Any military Intervention by the West means only one thing MAD (mutually assured destruction).

At this stage, only the top brass in Russia can stop Putin, if not, he is going all the way.

My prayers are with Ukrainians and our stranded stubborn countrymen in the country.

Senomii:
So when will russia cease fire? Or what would make them to
Although, it will be seen as an act of cowardice, a direct call from the Ukrainian President to Putin, will put an end to it. But the more Russia continue to win more territories within Ukraine, it will become more difficult to halt them? You can't smell victory and then pull back; Putin will want to takeover Ukraine once and for all. He needs to pick the phone and make the call now to save his people!

The association of failed and sidelined politicians looking for a way back to relevance grin cheesy

The sad truth is that someone from either APC or PDP will still win come 2023.

Nigerians forget that it is always the political class against ordinary Nigerians...political platforms are just buses to convey them to the cookies.

The ever changing of colour by a chameleon and the repeated shedding of skin by a snake doesn't change what they are.
Politics › Re: Nigerian Government To Evacuate Citizens In Ukraine As War Escalates by humberjade: 1:27pm On Feb 24, 2022
Nigerians can lament sha grin...when they were yet to make this announcement, people were abusing Abike Dabiri....now that they have announced the "evacuation of those that are willing to leave"...people still dey complain. Nigerians are very difficult to satisfy...even Jesus would have had it rougher as Christ if He had been born in Nigeria. cheesy

So people will rather have them shelled, than at least come back home to safety and relaunch?

I will just suggest anyone who loves his life over there should at least relocate to safer regions...far away from the region under contention. Although, there is no guarantee it won't later escalate beyond those regions.

Putin doesn't care about anyone o....hand don dey itch am tey tey...now wey him see oppurtunity, he is willing to go all the way.

Long overdue, was wondering if there will ever be another king at that place...I don't know if the town still looks like it was 12 years ago when I lived there as a student, but it needs rapid development...it should be more developed than it is, being the home to very illustrious sons and daughters...Mike Adenuga (Glo CEO), Late Buruji Kashamu, Late Pa Abraham Adesanya, Senator Lekan Mustapha, to mention a few

Perhaps this installation will bring the needed development, provided Kabiyesi knows how to put his new office into good use...general development over selfish gains in an attempt to recoup funds spent on court cases for the past 28 years.

Under Buhari, the Nigerian police
have become an incompetent organization
with nothing good but brutality and
corruption oozing out of every arm.
❌❌❌
This is so because Buhari, a semi-educated
individual doesn't value or understand
competence. His own is just to make
sure that only hausa Fulanis occupy
the position of Inspector General, whether
they are competent or not.
❌❌❌
He appointed one who could not even
read ( transmission- transmission). They
are just there to promote Northern
Muslims & Fulani interests while
dealing with innocent Southerners.

It's now one scandal after the other
But the said atrocity was committed during GEJ's administration undecided

Nigerian Police Pus' decadence has been on since the Babangida's regime...is just that people are just recently growing the balls to speak up.

Nigeria youth think for your future or continue fighting yourselves for this current set of old outdated brain dead greedy sick politicians. Gone are days the only dividend of democracy you gain is cajoling and insulting others in social media. Let's think about people like Adesina akiwumi, Kingsley mouhalu, Sanusi, ngozi iwuala, and more tested intellectual Nigerians including any of us in this platform.
An illustration of the kinda youths we have in Nigeria. We are yet to be serious for genuine change...suffering and smiling seem to be firmly imprinted into most Nigerian youths' DNA

Politics › Re: Buhari Okays Postponement Of APC National Convention by humberjade: 4:29am On Feb 21, 2022
This is what you get when you make a Governor who ought to be manning the affairs of his State, adding being a National Party Chairman to his already cumbersome task.

Well, it is all about postponing the day of doom by 2 weeks...because I am waiting to see the miracle that will keep APC as one big family post convention and Presidential primaries.

With the Party lacking a firm, and at the same time compassionate leader; one who is a rallying point for all members, the party is headed for disaster.
Politics › Re: Why NDLEA Was Able To Nail Kyari by humberjade:
This trend of Police Officers getting involved isn't just a Nigerian thing...it happens everywhere...nah day just break meet this one....or let's just say his cup became too full.

While in South Africa, I asked a varsity colleague why things took a turn for the worse for him...He said his cartel was
busted, and their boss killed. That the SA police and one of his late boss' top underlings were after every member of the cartel who knew what played out.

Pestering him further, he said they took delivery of drugs with the street value of about 10m Rands, all of a sudden, they were busted by the police, who came fully harmed and prepared...luckily for him he was returning from an errand at the time. While most of the his colleagues were arrested, the boss and a few top others were killed at the warehouse.

Here is the script...
*a cartel expects huge drug delivery
*a greedy member betrays the group, and reports to a top corrupt cop...giving time and location
*the cop and his underlings busts the group, eliminate potential threat right there.
* arrest others for display to the press...along with about 20 per cent recovered drugs from the bust
*sell the remaining 80 percent at a very cheap price to the informant
* and he becomes boss

Funny enough, he said rumours had it that his late boss betrayed his own boss too, but he didn't have him killed, but he got a 20year jail term.

All the medals she can be stripped of...depending on how long they can establish she's being in contact with the substance provider. Remember Marion Jones, she was stripped of all her international medals and jailed too. Being a Nigerian, I pray she comes outta this not too battered.

And in this internet age, getting a job or starting a business can be difficult for her, except of course those she runs through proxy...she cannot do anything in sports again.
