linked: Don't be a door without a lock. It is clear that you are not committed to your present relationship. Now that's a big problem. It speaks more to your character than anything else. The problem is not whether you like the new guy more than your guy, but that you don't understand that commitment is essential in a healthy relationship.
Maybe you are not matured enough to know that in life you will always meet someone more interesting, more handsome, more wealthy, more nice than whoever you chose to date or marry. Las las I suspect you will end up a wretch if you do not discipline yourself with self control.
You should date or marry a person not because you have not found someone better than them. Rather it should be because you CHOSE to be with them. Even when you find someone better (which will definitely happen), it wouldn't matter to you. Best comment so far, in my most humble opinion. We CHOOSE to be with people, not because of want of better choices, but because we want to. Eerm, barman! Barman!! Where you na? Abeg, arrange two bottles of Antarctica grade chilled Origin and one bottle of Arctic grade Budweiser for this my guy, with effervescent alacrity! |

ethicallyright: You read the comment of a stranger while scanning the biggest forum in your country and conclude that he hasn't the requisite educational qualification to form an opinion.
I think elementary philosophy is a foundational course which is compulsory for undergraduates in tertiary institutions. As a literate , you should practice more of sound arguments than attacking a person to buttress no point. Your mention is simply what it is , an argumentum ad hominem and a fallacious reasoning.
Bring facts when you're ready, Nigerian expert. Gbam, you nailed it! Barman, barman!! 3 bottles of Antarctica grade cold Origin and 2 Budweiser for this jolly fellow! |

asunmoGGMU: One of their lecturers, one Dr Samuel Daramola (of Department of Electrical and Information Engineering) plagiarized someone else's work by using the person's data without acknowledgement. The owner found out and sent him a mail, yet he still had the audacity to ask the work owner to "sell it to him at an affordable price". As in, he wasn't willing to retract the work but he was willing to pay his way out. Very irresponsible. This is what pressure to churn out papers may lead to. They better check these excesses. How did this end? Please, I'm interested as a budding researcher. From my little experience in academics, many of the scholars simply hijack the works of their graduate students and publish as their own. I will rather publish few quality papers in a year than churn out tons of papers just to make an impression. |

There are many men and women who chased and achieved high position and power in this country and beyond, and enjoyed. They also, in the process, lost their children. Word, bro, word! People always think in terms of money and material comforts. Many people have lost their family on the altar of career. I know some like that. Money is not everything! What's the essence of earning or accumulating so much when you become enemies to those who matter to you, just because you never had time for them? |

exstreve: why do you all think Kaduna is Muslim and hausa only? Don't you know there are almost as much christians as Muslims? The difference is just 45 -55 Infact i grew up in Kaduna without seeing or talking to any Muslim apart from the ones that roam the streets to sell something... you people will accuse black americans that they don't know their African history yet you easterners and Southerners don't even know anything about the north.
In southern Kaduna alone, there are more than 20tribes each with their own language I quite agree with the Op on the ethnic diversity in KD. I served in Kachia, and I toured almost all the parts of KD. From Kachia to Zonkwa to Kwoi to Kafanchan to Zaria to Gidan Waya to Barnawa to Narayi to Kawo and Kasuwa! And I met the Jabas, the Jemas, the Adara, the Zango-Kataf, the Kajuru, the Kagarko, the Hausas and Fulanis (especially in Zaria, Makarfi and Birnin Gwari), etc. Many of us in Nigeria need an education on our cultural diversity. Remember those days staying close to Barnawa complex. KD na nice place abeg! |

[quote author=Hunchogee post=91191611]Exclusive: What people don't know or see in the Map....
Akwa Ibom State houses 38 Islands that are very still untapped or developed making the future of tourism more brighter for the state than ever... Do you know that Ibeno L.G.A has 25 communities and all 22 are Island settlements that is not even much captured in the map..
Others are Mbo L.G.A with 7 Island communities while Eastern Obolo L.G.A has 9 island communities .. Thus making Akwa Abasi Ibom state the only state with 38 island settlements in Nigeria.
Akwa Ibom currently has the longest seaband or coastal line in west Africa making it a tourism heaven just like the river Nile in Egypt....with a whopping 2410 km2 coastal line, ibeno alone has 1200km2 while others is shared among Mbo, Easyern Obolo, Ikot Abasi etc
Can you please send me a PM? I want to explore this conversation further. I have been to Akwa Ibom (Ikot Ekpene, Uyo, Ibom Resort, the Stadium, etc) and I can tell that the tourism potentials are huge. Planning on going to Oron, Eket, and other interesting places once life normalizes a bit. |

Why is it that many people on Nairaland don't read before rushing to comment? The reduced fees are not for individuals getting married but for the licencing of religious centres as approved places for the registration of statutory marriages. Read, Nigerian youth, read! |

If my facts and intel are still correct, the Visitor of a University or his representative has the final say on who becomes the VC, after a joint selection committee of Senate and Governing Council must have finished the shortlisting and interview processes. The names of the top 3 performers (in the case of some state unis I know) will be forwarded to the Visitor. He may pick any of them. The politics starts from the shortlisting stage. No matter how good or brilliant a professor is, if he is not shortlisted, then he is already out of the race before it even begins! The politicisation of education in Nigeria is leading to its balkanisation and bastardisation. |

Investnow2017: You noticed too that since the US demonstrations the figures there have spiked considerably. What baffles me though is South Africa recording over 4,000+ cases daily for over a week now and it does seem their death rate is climbing too. You notice they tallied over 100+ fatalities in the last 24hours! This is not looking good. From a confirmed source, a friend in Jo'burg, SA is testing about 15k persons daily. Both public and approved private labs are conducting the tests. They have tested over a million persons so far. Nigeria has not even tested up to 300k, and we have a population of about 190million. Whether scam is involved or not, what we're seeing is still a joke. If testing capacity is increased, the figures will be staggering! But all in all, it's better to be safe than sorry. Stay safe, people! COVID-19 is real; people are losing their lives, friends and loved ones! |
