Lagos State police command have arrested six persons who allegedly vandalised the NNPC pipelines at Abule Egba, Lagos, that destroyed 100 houses and 77 vehicles worth millions of naira, Igbere Tv reports.

The suspects are the people Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly aspirant Hon.(Amb) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, 40, Rasak Oyakunle aka Akeregun; Abdulazeez Agboola aka Boggy, 29; Akin Ayansola alias Babalati, 44; Kazeem aka Aladija, 50 and Saheed Isiola alias Obama, 36.

Parading the suspects on Tuesday, January 29th (yesterday), Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, said:
"On December 18, 2018, at about 2am, there was a fire outbreak at Isopako Awori in Abule Egba area of Lagos State.

The fire emanated from the NNPC pipeline that was deliberately ruptured by the vandals in their bid to siphon premium motor spirit (PMS) from the pipe. It destroyed 100 houses and 77 vehicles worth millions of naira.

Following the development, operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja, were detailed to investigate the incident and ensure that the suspects are nabbed.”

He said the operatives were mobilised to the scene and they picked up pieces of evidence for analysis, which led to the arrest of the suspects. Edgal said during interrogation, Oyakunle confessed to committing the crime and revealed that he owned the generator repair workshop on the spot where the ruptured pipeline was laid.

“Oyakunle confessed that the workshop was located on the spot to enable them siphon fuel undetected,” he said. Edgal said the gang had been in the illicit business for years.

Gunmen on Saturday, shot dead the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman of Dobi ward in Gwagwalada Area Council, Husaini Sarki Kaida, Igbere Tv reports.


It was gathered that the gunmen also kidnapped the deceased 15-year-old daughter identified as Saude.


A member of the deceased family, Ibrahim Sarki, said the incident happened around 1:20 a:m on Saturday, at the deceased resident in Kaida village in the area council.

He said the gunmen who were many came went to the deceased house with sophisticated weapons; they knocked on the door and when he opened, they shot and killed him.

“The sound of gun shot attracted my attention and before we realised what was happening, we saw the lifeless body of the APC ward chairman lying on the floor. They shot him on the chest and he died instantly,” he said.

He said the remains of the APC ward chairman had been buried at according to Islamic rites, even as he said the family were yet to establish contact with the kidnappers of the 15 year-old girl.

According to report, the deceased was early last year abducted by gunmen at his Kaida village, in which N2 million ransom was paid before he was set free.

When contacted, the spokesman of the FCT police command, DSP Anjuguri Manza, said he was not aware of the incident but said he would contact the Gwagwalada police division and get back to our reporter.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, has expressed shock and sadness over the brutal assassination of the APC ward chairman.

Mustapha, in a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Usman Baba Lado, said the chairman said the council sympathised with the family and the entire good people of council over the gruesome murder of the deceased, Igbere Tv reports.

He condemned the manner in which the deceased was killed, describing it as an act of wickedness, while calling on security agents to ensure those behind the killing were brought to book without delay.

Igbere Tv learnt that Ibrahim Sarki has since been buried.

Reports reaching Igbere Tv news desk has it that INEC in Taraba state will hire donkeys and canoes to distribute 2019 general election materials in the state.

Mr. Fabian Vwamhi, INEC’s Head of Voters Education and Publicity in Taraba state, revealed this in an interview with Igbere Tv.

He said Sardauna, Gashaka, Karim-Lamido, Ibbi and Yorro local government areas have difficult terrains, saying donkeys, motorcycles and canoes will be used to distribute election materials in those areas.

Mr. Vwamhi further stated that 15,000 ad-hoc staff were employed by the commission for the 2019 general elections.

He also disclosed that those who were employed have commenced training in preparation for the conduct of the election.

On logistics, Mr. Fabian also said the commission has engaged the service of road transport workers to provide vehicles for transporting election materials and officials to the polling units in the 16 local government areas of the state.

He said all federal government agencies in the state that have serviceable vehicles will provide additional vehicles to the commission during the election.

Mr. Fabian also revealed that the distribution of permanent voters card at Ward level across the 16 local governments of Taraba state has been completed, Igbere Tv reports.

An high level suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja seeking for the disqualification of President Muhammadu Buhari the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC), has been schedule to hold on Jan 21,2019.


The plaintiffs, Mr Kalu Agu, Labaran Ismail and Hassy El-Kuris, allege that the president lied in his form CF 001 submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding his educational qualifications and certificates.


It was reported by IgbereTv newsmen that when the matter came up for mention on Wednesday, U.C. Ndubisi, counsel to the plaintiffs, who was holding brief for Mr Okpai Ukiro, informed the court that the matter was for mention.


Igbere TV learnt that Ndubisi told the court that all the defendants had been served with the processes, and that the president filed an application asking for an extension of time as well as a preliminary objection to the originating summons.


He, therefore, prayed the court for some time to enable him respond to the applications.The suit, which was filed on behalf of the plaintiff by Ukiro, has the president as the first defendant, APC as second defendant and INEC as the third defendant.


The plaintiffs want the court to determine “whether having regards to the information in the affidavit contained in Buhari’s INEC form, CF 001 regarding his educational qualification/certificate, he has submitted false information to INEC “Whether from the facts and exhibits contained in the affidavit in support of the originating summons and having regards to Section 31 (5)(6) of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended, Buhari is disqualified from running for the office of president in the 2019 general elections “Whether Buhari, having submitted false information to INEC, the APC can validly present him as its candidate for the office of president in the 2019 general elections.”


Upon the determination of the aforementioned questions, the plaintiffs seek a court declaration that the president submitted false information regarding his educational qualification to INEC to contest elections into the office of President of Nigeria in the 2019 general elections.


The plaintiffs, in addition, want the court to declare that the president, having submitted false information regarding his educational qualification/certificate, is disqualified from contesting elections into the office of president in the 2019 elections.


They also pray the court for an order directing INEC to reject or remove Buhari’s name as the presidential candidate of the APC submitted to INEC for the 2019 general elections. The trial judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed adjourned the matter until Jan. 21, for hearing of the main suit and the preliminary objection.


Igbere TV gathered that Justice Mohammed also ordered that hearing notices be served on APC and INEC.

The Canadian Parliament has announced plans to add more than one million new permanent residents in the next three years. That's nearly one percent of the country's population each year, IgbereTv report.

Canada is especially dedicated to offering protection to refugees. The United Nations Refugee Agency reported unprecedented levels of refugees in 2017, with the number of forcibly displaced people reaching 68.5 million.


IRCC has pledged $5.6 million to support global resettlement initiatives.

Report reaching IgbereTv has it that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned power outage in some parts of Lagos and Ogun States on Jan. 13 and Jan. 15, between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

Ms Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager, Public Affairs Unit, TCN, in a statement said the outage was due to an annual preventive maintenance scheduled to take place at the Ikeja-West 330/132Kv Transmission Sub-Region in Lagos.


According to IgbereTv report, Mbah said there will be interruption of electricity supply to consumers receiving supply within its Lagos network specifically in parts of Alimosho, Ejigbo and Agbara, in Lagos and Ogun States respectively.


“The interruption will be on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 between 8:00am and 5:00pm, and Tuesday, Jan. 15 between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

A serving Corp member, Odedele Feranmi, on Wednesday was arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for reckless driving and alleged killing of one Pelumi Olasunkanmi, IgbereTv reports.


The death of Pelumi, a 16-year-old Junior Secondary School 3 student of Coker Memorial High School, Ikirun, occurred last week Friday when he was hit by a car driven by Odedele along Osogbo/Gbongan Road.


The 29-year-old Odedele was said to have driven his car in a reckless manner and hit the deceased, who was selling garden eggs by the roadside.


Odedele was said to be returning to Osogbo from Ibadan to resume at his Primary Place of Assignment, having been deployed in Osun for his mandatory one year service by graduates.


Addressing the court, Police prosecutor, Mr. Oladoye Joshua, said the accused person killed Pelumi while driving his Honda car with the registration number Lagos MUN 187 CU around 11.30am.


Oladoye further alleged that the offence contravened the provision of section 81(1) Cap 115, Vol 6, Laws of Osun State, 2003.


Mr. Bola Abimbola-Ige, while reacting to the claims by the prosecutor, moved an oral application for bail of his client and assured the judge that the accused will not jump bail.


While ruling on the bail application, Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara said, “The accused person is reluctantly granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.”

Mr Mason who was a devoted father, never doubted he was the boys’ biological dad until two years ago when he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis an inherited disease which prevents male sufferers from fathering children naturally.


DNA and other tests later confirmed beyond doubt that the businessman has no biological link to his eldest, now 23, and his 19-year-old twins, throwing his life and his relationship with them into turmoil.


Richard Mason’s ex-wife has been ordered to pay him £250,000 following a legal case that has allowed her to keep the identity of the real father a secret.


Mr Mason believes that the same man fathered all three boys during an on/off four-year affair his wife Kate, 54, embarked on in the late 1990s.


But she only confessed to the adultery in 2016, ten years on from their divorce, when he confronted her about the children’s paternity.


It is not known if Mrs Mason’s former lover is aware he is the real father.


The case came to light when Mr Mason launched a legal bid to claw back some of the £4 million his wife received in their divorce settlement, as well as suing her for paternity fraud. As a result, two of the boys have since broken off contact with him.


Legal papers seen by Daily Mail on Sunday reveal that, when she became pregnant with the first child, Mrs Mason declared a sudden interest in Judaism and also insisted all three children were given Jewish middle names. She also refused to have them christened.


Mr Mason, from Rhos, North Wales, believes it is a clue to the identity of the real father, but he is tortured by not knowing who he is and has called on his ex-wife to admit the truth if only for the sake of her sons.
Mr Mason, 55, told Daily Mail on Sunday night that discovering the boys were not his own left his life in pieces.


‘You don’t know what’s real and what isn’t – it’s as if I’m living in The Matrix,’ he said. ‘Someone says to you, “All that you know and everything you thought to be solid and true is not real, and never did exist. You are not a father, you are not able to have kids, your name will not continue.”


‘I still see what the boys are doing on Facebook and it’s heart-wrenching because we saw the graduation of the eldest on there, but I wasn’t invited.


‘I walk past a toy store and it reminds you of buying Christmas presents for them and other family occasions.


‘And when friends post things on Facebook about their own families like their first grandchild or saying they’re proud of their boy for something, I just think, “My God, that’s all been taken away from me.”


Mr Mason, now remarried, said his ex-wife ‘tricked’ him into believing the boys were his, when at the very least there must have been some doubt in her mind – not least because she only became pregnant seven years into their marriage.


‘After the divorce, she constantly hounded me for more maintenance even though I always complied with the Child Support Agency demands,’ he said.

Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai has spoken against the manipulation of religion and ethnicity for political interests by the elites in the country, IgbereTv News report.


The governor, who is seeking reelection under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, said the choice of Dr Hadiza Balarabe as his running mate for the March 2nd governorship poll was “influenced by considerations of competence, developing the state and pulling the talents of the women”.


El-Rufai was quoted by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Samuel Aruwan, to have stated these as a guest on a Hausa programme, ‘Hannu Dayawa’ on the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Kaduna, on Saturday.


The governor said people in their businesses, travels and daily lives, look for those who could give them results, not the faith of the person. He said, “our action was not predicated on religion or ethnicity but getting a deputy governor that suits our quest for a better Kaduna State.”


The governor added, “you are sick and in dire need of life. When you are rushed to hospital, what do you need? Life or the religion of the doctor? Life is what you need and you will not waste time on the religion and the ethnic background of the doctor.


When you are flying, do you care about the religion or the ethnic background of the pilot or a safe flight? It’s the same thing with business and investment. You hire those who can make your investment profitable”, IgbereTv News report.

A lady, pictured left, has accused a man of being a rapist and exposed the method he allegedly uses to get his victims around the Lekki-Ajah area.

According to the lady @Chubbycikky on Instagram, the young man pictured above robbed and raped her friend on Monday, September 24, 2018, while she was on her way to Victoria Island. She claimed he also tried same with another girl but the girl luckily escaped and sent his photo to them. The girl who sent the photo allegedly got it by chatting with him.

Wasiu Adeagbo, identified as a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been arrested by the Police for allegedly buying votes.

He was arrested at Ward 8, Unit 9, Fiwasaye Area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital. The sum of N116,000 was found on him.

The arrest was revealed via a tweet by the Police, which reads;

“Arrest of one Mr Adeagbo Wasiu, a suspected PDP chieftain at Ward 8 Unit 9 Fiwasaye Area of Osogbo. He was apprehended in the act f vote buying and the sum of One Hundred and Sixteen Thousand (116,000) was recovered from him, Investigation is ongoing."

There have been a series of stories of people's money disappearing mysteriously from their Piggy bank with many saying it's diabolic.

Now a Nigerian doctor has taken to her Twitter page to share her own strange experience.

According to her, she was expecting to see at least N20-N30k, but after breaking her piggy bank she found only N600.

A pregnant lady, Ajah Lilian Chinenye, many passengers and crew had a close shave with death on Thursday while aboard a plane from Abuja to Kano.

Mrs Chinenye took to Facebook on Friday morning, to share details of the terrifying experience.

"PLEASE HELP ME THANK GOD!!!
God of the Air yesterday delivered me & others from a plane crash. On a plane enroute Abuja to Kano that was knocked off course thrice by sand storm, with phones, caps, books falling off from people, heads hitting the plane roof, a child whose mother had unbuckled his belt falling off her hand like it happens in AMERICAN movies, with my toe nail being scratched and wounded by a seat with women and children screaming and shouting, with all Christians speaking in tongues, calling on Jesus and praying and the Muslims screaming Allah uwak ubarrrr.

With the plane staying off course for an additional 1 hour 12 minutes for a flight that should have been for 40 minutes only.

And I sit there glueing tightly to Jehovah and at intervals rubbing my baby bump, calling on the God of the firmaments, God of the Air, the God who created Sand storms, the God who holds the pillar of my life, Otonmiribetsida, the Ocean divider, the master of the universe to give his angels charge over us so we do not dash to the earth from the air and he ANSWERS.

The Oyinbo captain and his crew ceases communication with us for close to an hour after staying off course the sand storm and we hover on air without knowing where we are until we finally begin to see land beneath us and enjoy this ROUGH landing with people scampering to their feet to de-board even before the plane comes to a stand still.

People roll on the floor in the waiting area thanking God... Somebody help me thank JEHOVAH...Am still in shock, I do not know how to thank him. Ever since I've been flying, I have NEVER experienced this near-crash-death occurrence. He's our deliverer indeed..."
