PoliticsHow To Truly Fight Corruption Through The Instrumentality Of Efcc by IBBG(op): 2:40pm On Nov 07, 2018
Whatsoever may have prompted the creation and formation of EFFC, by the then president, Olusegun Obasanjo, i believe it was apt, because, as we entered the new millenium, economic and financial crimes in Nigeria took on new heinous and humongous dimension hence the need for a dedicated formation tasked with the responsiblity of ensuring such crimes were effectively punished by the rule of law.
However over the years, the instrumentality of EFCC has suffered abuse, as Myles munroe is often quoted with the saying "when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable". However i will modify it futher by stating that "When something meant for public use is highjacked for selfish reasons, abuse and victimization becomes rampant". That has been the ordeal of EFFC right from its creation.
Moving forward, the question on my mind is how can the instrumentality of EFCC be effectively strengthened to fight corruption that is ever ubiqitous and endemic in our polity without sentimental bias?
The answer is granting EFCC full autonomy and independence with strong laws backing them to prosecute all kinds of financial crimes from the highest political office in the land, to the common man in the street.
The EFCC should be granted full autonomy like the judiciary and should be mandated by law to investigate and prosecute every petition bordering on financial crimes written to it by any individual of the public. Their role in the society should closely resemble those of District Attorneys in the US but their jurisdiction should only be financial crimes.
The EFCC should be backed by law to compulsorily probe or carry out a forensic audit on the public expenditure of every political office holder and for those protected by immunity after their tenure elapse to answer for any form of financial impropriety while in power to check mate looting in the polity. This should be one of their key statutory role and function.
The EFCC should not be concentrated in abuja, it should be decentralized with regional headquarters across the six geopolitical zones of the country with the overall headquarters in abuja.
Every state should have an EFCC office to investigate all financial crimes as it happens in the state.
Finally, the EFCC team should compose of lawyers, forensic auditors, and a paramilitary wing to arrest and prosecute financial crimes.
Any government serious about fighting the hydra headed monster of corruption will do these. Any thing less than these is just mere rhetorics and playing to the gallery.
This is my humble submission.

PoliticsHow atiku may likely win 2019 by IBBG(op):
From the various permutation, postulations and extrapolation based on the results of 2015 polls, and based on how the Atiku presidential aspiration has gained momentum over the years especially aided by clinching the PDP presidential primaries, coupled with the dwindling fortunes of the incumbent president and the wide spread grass root structures of the PDP in all corners of the nation. What Atiku atleast requires to clinch 2019 polls is by winning atleast 3 states in the North East, 4 states in the Middle belt, 1 state in the North west, atleast 2 states in the South west, and 11 states in the South east and South south. 3+1+4+2+11 = 21.
36 states minus 21 = 15
From my observation based on how things presently are, Atiku may likely pull this off. Which means the prediction of tabloids such as Economist of an Atiku likely winning the 2019 polls is credible enough and should not be dimissed as wishful thinking.
Buhari undoing will be the South east and South south, because his defeat there will be landslide. Even in buhari's stronghold which is the North west atiku will get substantial vote due to north vs north, muslim vs muslim factor, and the both of them are heavy weight in the north. But the same can not be said of the South east and South south which happens to be Atiku's strong hold. As the president has not really done enough to carry that region along. His body language, his rhetorics and actions has shown his disregard for the region and the region will cost him 2019, because he will not be able to pull the same level of result from there as atiku will pull from his strong hold.
From all indication, the North east will be split between both candidates, buhari will win North west and South west, but will lose out in Middle belt, South east and South south.
He laid his political bed, so he should be prepared by whatsoever is the outcome.

Im sad, are suppose to be dragging 30k with our government ehn 30 thousand naira.... Now this news sounds like a great feat or something but it's a terribly sad moments and a shame... Please what is the most useless office in Nigeria and how much is the official collecting... I heard they say senators collect 15 Milla per month... 15 Milla every fucking month(sit down inside AC, wear fine agbada and babariga and some even came to sleep but at the end of the month PING PING) 15 Milla enter account..... Now you are dragging 30 thousand with the people who elected you in office... Mind you the 30 thousand can still be likened to underpayment... What if we had demanded 80k or 100k ehn... What would it take the politicians we put in office for instance a senator to come out and say OK don't give us 15 million a month instead give us 14 million, why can't they sacrifice just a small share of their salary for the general populace.... Now we are celebrating 30k after 'royal rumble with out politicians.... It's sad, very sad and I'm terribly sad...

Im not proud to be a Nigerian today infact I'm renouncing my citizenship for 24hours... This is not a great achievement by my standard instead this is a great disappointment where it took the threats of a nationwide strike before 'reluctantly agreeing to the said amounts.... Tragic...
God bless you. Yet some people still have the audacity to claim that this govt will win election because of this. Minimum wage they were arm twisted by labour to agree to.

APC's plan is to discredit Atiku and obi combo. But that plan is already a debacle. This APC government has long been demystified and it is now evident to all that this APC government is an embodiment of cluelessness that thrives on flagrant chicanery. They have long lost their credibility. After all the initial highfalutin promises they used to entice Nigerians to vote them into power, how many of those promises have they delivered on?Instead, they reneged on all their initial promises to our displeasure.
If APC was wise enough, they would focus on convincing Nigerians about their achievements since they came into the corridors of power till date which I am skeptical about instead of trying to portray Atiku and obi in a bad light because that will only strengthen our resolve to send them packing come 2019.
Sending Buhari back to daura in 2019 should be the agenda of every Nigerian that want the best for this country.Nothing more, nothing less.
Thanks to you i've learnt two new words which i will add to armoury of words. Chicanery and Highfalutin. To think that this is the first time i'm coming across such words in English is quite interesting.

PoliticsWhy Atiku Should Pick Ekweremadu As His VP. by IBBG(op): 10:43am On Oct 08, 2018
I was initially considering a Southwest VP, after listening to debates for and against having VP from the Southeast. But then i realized that it is probably right to pick the VP from the SE. Truth be told, i think the SE deserves the number 2 position, because they have really been marginalized hence they constant agitation for a different country. This will give them a more sense of belonging and not seen as second class citizen in their own country. Atiku should not kill himself to win SW, he should just strive to get substantial vote there by offering other position to them should he win. If he wants a cult followership in the SE/SS like GEJ enjoyed then, he should pick his VP there preferably Ekweremadu. He should not weaken his support base by picking from a region where he is weak. Its just like buhari dumping Osibanjo to pick VP from the SS/SE to get more support from that region when it is very clear his support is weak there. The region that will crown the president in 2019 will be middle belt. NE is his zone and they have never produced the president before, if he can play that card to his region they will rally around him to win. Because sane region who has never produced the president before will abandon their major chance of producing the president to support another region. If Atiku does his home work well which i believe he is experienced enough to do so, then he will bag, NE, NC, SS, SE. The four region can make him win.

And So On

What have they put in place in those University before planning to increase the tuition fee
baba God bless u for this comment. To think that some fools are supporting this wickedness, it tells you that there are many people who are sadomasochist. Infact to add to what you've said, the govt will have to increase minimum wage to 100k before even thinking of making tertiary fees 350k. We are just too docile in this country. In other countries, howls of protests will have already begun just based on this rumour alone.

to think that some people still come out to support this obscene evil is discombobulating. These same people got education for free in the early 1970s and now they are proposing this evil and wicked idea. If not for looting by our politicians, there is enough money to fund education at a really subsidized rate. Their evil plans will fail. May be this will be the tipping point that will awaken the masses into a revolution in this country, cos they are beginning to stretch their luck far. It just a marginal increase in the price of staple food in egypt that kick started the arab spring in egypt. Maybe Nigeria spring is getting closer with this evil plan

My brother you are right! Infact security was so tight that if you are caught for cultism you were treated worse than an armed robber. Pot holes were duly fixed, commissioners were all up and doing, Everybody was brought to the table to work. Ayade is an Apology.
my brother me and ayade we are from the same local govt. But we are really embarrased by his style of leadership and failure in the state, and is malgovernance is giving obudu people a bad name. I will never vote that clown as a governor, because he is not fit to govern a state. Majority of obudu people are ashamed of him. I will not support a total failure simply because he is from my place and i don't care whether the person is my brother. All i want is good governance, which imoke handed over to ayade, but what do we have now, cultism everywhere, refuse littered across the state, pot holes every where, water board is dead. street light is dead also, tourism is dead. And yet the clown of a governor keeps frolicking outside the country at any given opportunity signing dubious MOU with no intension of implementing them. I am still wondering how we ended up with that con artist as a governor. He has to sent packing in 2019. i never imagined cross river state will be this bad.

I think you should keep shut if you have nothing to say. I can bet my last dime that you didn't read the article. Imoke is a thousand times better than Duke. Permit me to school you.
1) while Duke was busy borrowing money for elephant projects Imoke constructed roads across the entire state
2) imoke installed street lights across the whole calabar even building roads into people's bedrooms
3) 178 communities where electrified by imoke
4) every ward had a health center with solar power, so much that general hospitals were complaining of no patients
5) over 90% of schools were renovated
6) odukpani power plant was built by imoke
7) imoke built the convention center that has seen more traffic than the useless Tinapa

You stay in whatever city you are eating yam, garri etc from the hintherland of Cross River all because imoke constructed access roads to enable farmers get their produce out. Yet your so called messiah Duke said it will take the entire state budget to construct a single road in this places. Mtschew
baba you are right. you did not mention water board that imoke made very functional, such that there was 24 hours supply of clean water across the city metropolis. Security was tight under imoke. refuse evacuation was seamless. Seriously based on works, i must say imoke was the best governor, compared to all including the incumbent who is a humongous failure.

Having read the full interview to hear Imoke's side of the story, it seems to me that Donald Duke is overrated. I am convinced more by Imoke than Duke.
God bless. Same thing with me. i am a cross riverian, i must confess imoke was a silent achiever. i was never a fan of his because we used to call him sleeping governor. But i travelled to some rural part of cross river and saw what he did. I became remorseful for being among those who were villifying him. Imoke never had the benefit of huge allocation like donald duke from oil, because the FG had ceded bakassi to cameroon and oil wells were gone and no revenue from oil he was still able to perform and not abandon the rural areas like donald duke did. The truth is Duke is over rated. period. While the present governor in the state is an undertaker and a monumental failure
PoliticsRe: Liyel Imoke To Donald Duke: ‘You Are A Serial Failure!’ by IBBG(m):
from this excerpt, after weighing the both sides, i think Liyel imoke was the best governor cross river ever had. His projects had a huge impact on the common man. During his time we had 24 hours of clean water supply from water board. And cross river water board was rated the best in nigeria. other states sent delegates to come and study the cross river state model and replicate it in their state. Our streets were exceptionally clean, with good dumpster. But under Ayade every thing is dead. nothing is really working. Imoke was a silent worker, who didn't like to blow his trumpet while working behind the scene. It was after he left office when i travelled to some rural places in cross river then i saw his good works and was thirlled and became sorry for tagging him a sleeping governor. Out of them all Ayade is the worst. i pray he loses 2019 polls massively. since 1999 we have never had it this bad like under ayade presently. the guy is a huge definition of failure

Did u read all my comments or just pick and choose?

Ideally PDP want to win everywhere but how do u defeat Buhari in an area fool of backward illiterate?

How do u defeat a sitting president in his own backyard?

Buhari could not do that to GEJ even in the Southeast.
exactly PDP should concentrate more on their strength than weakness. NW is their weakness they can't win there no matter what. They should focus on candidate that can sweep northeast, northcentral, south east, south south and split south west. I think atiku fits that bill very well. He also has the financial wherewithal to go toe to toe with buhari
PoliticsRe: Cracks In PDP Over Quest For Northwest Candidates by IBBG(m): 3:30pm On Sep 16, 2018
i think Atiku has enough weight to challenge buhari in all the zones. While other candidates do not necessariky have that. He has shown so much seriousness by going round and politiking. It will be a close one between atiku and tambuwal. I think atiku will edge it in the end, because some delegates from the north may not necessarily want to follow wike and give him unecessary control over the party. Atiku will win but by a slim margin. The likes of david mark, bafarawa, lamido, makarfi, dankwambo and even saraki might instruct their delegates to vote Atiku, as they will not want wike to become a godfather in the party like tinubu is in APC. I think that is good. One beautiful thing about PDP is that one man can not control it like APC. They are full of independent thinkers who want to create their own path which is good.

Is she your wife? Why are you carrying the matter on head like this. Don't do something you'll regret the rest of your life out of jealousy o. Because the way you are sounding you could resort to violence to send your point across. You have no business with whether other guys are after her, your own business is to play your role as her boyfriend or aquaintance. You can only draw her attention to what you are not comfortable with. If she is still repeating the same thing, you simply end the relationship and walk away. No point acting desperate over any thing.
SportsEden Hazard Gets Belgium Knighthood by IBBG(op): 3:46pm On Sep 14, 2018
This is perhaps one of the most happy moments in any players career, the fact that a player is been applauded by his home country is more than a number of medals.
This case is applicable to Belgium international and Chelsea striker, Eden Hazard.
New report have made it known that Eden Hazard has been officially Knitted in his home country Belgium.
The report added that the government of Wallonia, the French speaking southern half of Belgium have made the 27 year old a Commander of the Walloon Order of Merit.
