raumdeuter:You've just made our point. The fact is Boateng plays for teams that dominate and his only great point is his ability to stop counterattacks. Anytime we see him under a bit of pressure his lack of organisation and concentration is exposed like when he gets hammered 5 goals every UCL semifinal. Put Boateng under pressure and he lacks positional skill and defensive organisation. |
raumdeuter:Germany dominated Argentina who only had 36% possession. All you can show us is him stopping counters. Bayern dominated Juve start to finish. The only match his team didn't dominate where he kept clean sheet was a rudderless Barca managed by Jourdi Roura who got hammered 7-0 - hardly a test for a defender Tell us why he conceded 5 goals two years in a row vs Barca and Madrid. Why didn't he bunker? |
Zenith apparently interested in Oscar and Chelsea ready to sell. Please give us some good cash. |
timbros:We reject it in Jesus name. |
raumdeuter:Boateng isn't organised enough to bunker. He cannot anticipate or position himself in those situations eg a striker making a quick dart to the near post from a lateral cross or cutback. That's what Bonucci did dozens of times tonight. If it is to chase a striker for a 50 yard through ball that he can see from a mile away, then he is good at that one. Anything involving constant concentration, positioning and organisation, he is below par. All these matches you mentioned were dominated by Bayern and he had nothing to do besides chasing strikers in a foot race. That's why you see him conceding 5 goals when Barca put him on backfoot. |
Boateng is a good defender but our friends in Bayern hype him up to be the greatest. We only see Boateng playing for teams that dominate the ball so his best quality (pace) is always on display to stop counterattacks. Put Boateng under real pressure and you see him collapse like when Madrid and Barca were flogging him 5-0 and 7-0. Take this game today. If you put Boateng in Bonuccis position in the Italy team, having to defend under pressure for 120 mins, you will see the difference between a born organised defender like Bonucci and a scatter brain like Boateng. Boateng in Italy team today would have conceded goals. |
I could see the whole Sports section hoping for Boateng to miss his kick ![]() |
Raumdeuter see your boy Boateng with arms akimbo like he's pointguarding Steph Curry. |
SailorXY:It would be rare for both to be on the pitch at the same time, even so other positions should have tall players to compensate |
Manure shaping up seriously for the new season with Mkhitaryan and Zlatan signings. My money is on them. |
Juan Mata on his way to Everton. The aunties following him from the village sent Jose after him. |
bigkesh:Funny enough both Kante and Lass Diarra have been on my mind for months. |
raumdeuter:Belgium only had 5 EPL players. Wales had 22 English league players plus 1 alumni. The two winning goals were made in the English Championship. EPL is your Lord!!! |
dopeJemi:No let boys grab that photo. Them go use that lip piercing roast you one day o ![]() |
Griffon:FPL done start? Make I go defend my title jare. |
dopeJemi:WTF is that on your lip? Piercing? |
Chestar5:Are you feeling the nigga? |
C'mon Portugal. Bring that money home to daddy. |
Nihilist:No wahala. Bear in mind when Ake went to JM, he was 18. He has since had successful loans at Reading and Watford and proved himself better than our current options. If you ask me, the TD is playing his usual politics. Having gone out on a limb to sign Baba Rahman for stewpid money, the boards eyes are on him if Rahman fails and loses value. So he clears space in the squad for Rahman to at least have a chance of being 2nd choice. It is a tactic I know him well for ie clearing space for certain players, from Mikel to Torres. Even if the club are signing 2 midfielders and a left back, like I said only a foolish TD will leave likes of Mikel and Rahman to back them up instead of Ake. |
Nihilist:That is what you wished happened, but that is not what happened. You mean Conte would leave Euro work and scouting of Spain and Germany, to study game tapes of Ake? Where they do that at? ![]() As you can see, Italy is very well drilled to the minute detail in this tournament - that's not because Conte is spending his time studying Chelsea youth players!!! Tell me how long it takes to study 2 hour tapes of 50 players on loan. You must be joking if you think Conte is studying and making judgements on the first team squad and development squad whilst juggling managing Italy. This is the kind of situation where the TD makes recommendation to the first team coach. Weren't you the one who showed us Emenalos job profile showing us he is in charge of development squad? Is Conte's job title not "first team coach": - actually, the first time a Chelsea manager has had his job role reduced to "First team coach" only. So we should go looking for "First team coach" who hasn't started work yet to blame him for a wrong decision on a "development" player? Nihilist:Emenalo decided to send the boy on one extra year. No ifs, and, or but. Conte may know about it BUT IS IN NO POSITION to know the worth of the player having just walked in the door. Emenalo knows the player, Conte does not. This is where we know we have a stewpid TD because Rahman is the one who needs extra Infact Chelsea quoted Watford £10m to sell the boy outright. |
Michy is better than Lacazette for a lone striker role. Michy holds the ball up well, dribble in tight spaces and good with his back to goal. Lacazette doesn't have that |
lalaboi:I feel Michy go surprise you. He looks like my kind of striker. |
Nihilist, its like this. No manager walks into a squad and can change 23 players. At least 7-10 players are put there/kept there by the TD. Guardiola cannot walk into City today and say he wants replacements for Delph, Fernando, Mangala, Kolarov, Clichy, Otamendi, Navas, Bony etc. He can know he doesn't want those players but he can't replace all of them. If his TD has academy youngster or a cheap player better than those guys, he is doing the manager a favour by finding decent replacements to help the manager, as the manager is only focused on 3 or 4 key positions that he can request signings. The 3rd/4th midfielder, 4th centreback, substitute fullbacks, wingers and strikers are all controlled by the TD. I am under no illusions about the role of a TD, and his influence. 30-40% of a squad is crafted by him. Guardiola may sign Alonso and Tiago but he is not responsible for Kimmich or Rode. The Rumenniges help him fill those positions. Emenalo has just helped Conte fill those positions with the Mikels, Michael Hectors and Rahmans while chasing away the Christensens and Akes. I don't know what other way to define incompetence. |
Nihilist:No. The development squad is strictly the remit of the TD in any club in the world. Some of us were hoping that the likes of Ake and MVG stick around long enough for preseason so Conte can see them, assess them and make a decision on them. The decision has been taken out of his hands. Conte is sitting in his hotel room somewhere prepping for Germany match, and all he would know about this is that Chelsea has one small boy on loan at Watford last season and now he has been loaned to Bournemouth. Do you think Conte can assess or know the 50+ players we have out on loan? This is where the likes of Rumennige and co show the difference between a good TD and Aba made TD. They can recognise quality in likes of Alaba, Lahm, Kroos etc from Bayern academy to let a manager know he has strong options, meanwhile Chelsea managers are working blindly with a TD who doesn't know his right from left. If Sam Allardyce walks into Lazio today, he cannot tell you jack about one Florenzi that Lazio will have out on loan to Genoa. Those who are with the club are guardians of the club and (should) know the players values better than anyone walking in. The TD has essentially told us he considers Rahman to be a better player than Ake whereas some of us believe that Ake is a better player than Rahman, Mikel and can even fill a gap at LCB if Conte wants to go with a back three. You can bet that Conte considers left-back and midfield a problem position at Chelsea, yet never once has Emenalo thought to put the clubs internal LB and CM options up as at least a squad filler consideration. Instead he is thinking how to loan them out. Obviously in his questionable judgement, he considers Rahman and Mikel better options. Look Chelsea are not going to sign 11 new players for Conte this summer, we will only get 4 or 5. Which means the Baba Rahmans stick around in the squad when the likes of Ake could have done so. This is shocking stewardship by Emenalo. |
Chelsea fans dey vex seriously on all media platforms over this Ake issue When you have a useless TD like Emenalo, these are the kind of decisions that you see.
|
These fools have loaned Nathan Ake to Bournemouth. For me, of our current set, Nathan Ake takes first team shirt in central midfield and at left-back. Some eediots don't know football when they see it. |
raumdeuter:It is too early for Emenalo to start playing his usual politics. For now Conte has the balance of power because he was chosen by Roman while Emenalo recommended Pellegrini. If Emenalo had the balance of power now you would be hearing of links with 10 wingers this summer, but what we are hearing is Kante and Naingollan |
I hope Costa is on his way out with the Michy signing. I done tire to dey watch WWE everytime I tune in to Chelsea game. |
raumdeuter:Austria should answer that, with all their Bundesliga stars. |
Griffon:No let Jigsawkillah hear this one o. Na him babe be that. ![]() |
raumdeuter:Actually there are only 46000 men in Iceland between the ages of 20 and 40. 1 in every 2000 men of football age are in the Euros squad. |
England are losing this game. No method to their attack. No 2nd man showing for the ball after Wilshere/Dier pick it from the back four. Rooney an absolute waste in that midfield, losing ball every minute. Roy brought him to France to learn midfield work. Alli making stewpid runs when he is needed to show for the ball to create a triangle. Mscheeeeeeeeeew! |
