Bimfo and Nihilist pointed out that Oscar in the long run could become Lampard's replacement - a prophecy I bin see last year, Ibime still dey rant.
Nah ninja, you never claimed he could be Lampard's replacement. He is already Lampard's replacement - or do you see any other central attacking midfielder at Chelsea? Do you want a cookie for stating the obvious?

You claimed he was Lampard's equal 2 years ago. A neophyte observation. He's been proving you wrong ever since. What's worse - he will never be as great as Lampard, much less be on Lampard's par 2 years ago.

Lampard is still better than him TODAY! - at the age of 36. Ask Man City fans.

In the same argument, you told me Mikel and Ramires should replace Lampard and Lampard is the one messing up the midfield. I remember exactly the date - it was the week before we played Shakhtar. You are now trying to twist the language to escape a big doodoo. You don't know nothing about midfield play ninja - despite what Mr Jose Santos taught you at the academy. I could spot Oscar was not on Lampard's level in 2 weeks, what took you 6 months to realise!!! grin grin grin

A ninja who said Lampard should be benched for Oscar and even Mikel and Ramires 2 years ago now changing story to "long term replacement". SMH.

Then he wants credit for "foreseeing the replacement". Maybe Dyabman would soon ask for credit for Ramires being Ballacks replacement. . . . or Nateevs might want credit for Torres being Drogbas replacement. . . . cheesy

That has been Ibime's issue with Oscar since time immemorial. I'm not surprised he picked on the misquote.

If he knows Oscar much better than the man that manages him week in week out, then let his claim stand cheesy
It was not a misquote. It was post match press conference where every media outlet was there and they are all reporting he said "he is not a player to play with ball at his feet". Check all the newspapers. Na Chelsea.com wey edit am to save the players face.

If Jose is claiming he's good with ball, why would he try to explain that he runs left, right and zigzag - to explain what he meant.

A no10 who makes 36 passes a game on average is a ball to feet player?. Even if Jose said that, you know it's just to ginger the boy's spirit.

Besides, only neophytes like yourself grin take motivational speech seriously. No be the same JM that told Lamps he's the best player in the world during Ronaldinhos heydey and told DD he is the best striker at Eto and Henry's peak? All na to ginger the player.

You claim JM thinks he is fantastic, yet he has NEVER started any big must-win game for JM since JM used him to get rid of Mata. Who is deceiving who? Actions speak louder than words nigga, that's a story for the gods!

Shey na Volume of pass we wan chop? Imagine Ibime listing Willian up there. Willian that is one the least effective of CFC's attacking midfielders.
The proof is in the pudding. . . . .Willian starts EVERY big match for Chelsea. . . .Oscar starts NONE. How effective is a nigga you can't trust?

Nihilist:
You too have admitted that "Lampard was the most km-per-game runner for 6 straight seasons". So why you dey vex when Oscar does the same?
Show me one OPTA stats with Oscar in the top-10 distance covered. I talk with facts, you're talking dem-say dem-say. I can show you 6 lists with Lampard as no1.

Nihilist:
Like I said, What Fabregas does now, I don't think Lampard has ever done in his life. But that's not a bad thing. Lampard's game was run around, shoot, take set pieces.
I've stated openly in 2009 that Fab4 is better than Lampard, but this statement is wayyyy wrong and absolute rubbish. Don't be mad because Torres was making his midfielders look silly whilst Costa is turning all passes to gold. There is no pass, long or short that Fab4 has given that Lampard didn't use to feed regularly to Drogba. Infact, Lampard does those long passes better than Fab4.

You can't fork with Lampard's assist-making. Fabregas only dominates him in possession volume. Get back to me when Oscar is able to play the passes in the video below from 09/10 season. Blasphemy!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld9xXJEuBZM

And if you think am joking about Oscar being a possession letdown, see below. . . .

Oscar cannot make 40 passes a game, then compare to Fab4 with double his output (and whose average is brought down by his Spain and Barca stats where he was often played from the bench or out of position).

Oscar ain't got the answer like Kanye West. . . . this Guapo nigga need to stop screaming everytime Oscar shows himself once every 3 months. We've got better thing to discuss than an inconsistent ninja who plays football 3 or 4 times a season than comparing him to Legends who were there week in, week out for 50 games a season.

This nigga Oscar should be getting the same press as Salomon Kalou - two ninjas who've got about the same level of contribution - one good game every 3 months. grin grin grin

I think there's some sort of misconception that whoever plays in the hole must be the playmaker.

To me, Oscar is especially similar to Lampard...in that he links play between attack and midfield without necessarily being the creative focal point of the game...Has Lampard ever dominated a game the way Fabregas does?

While Lampard has solid assist numbers, his primary talent was to score goals...I dont think any Chelsea fan has ever looked to Lampard to dominate the midfield.

Oscar is doing pretty much the same as Lampard at the moment, though perhaps not as good as the legend, and without the luxury of the being the chief set-piece taker.

It's funny how Ibime is denigrating Oscar for doing exactly what Lampard was known for...Constantly running around and popping up to score goals.
This is your chief misunderstanding of footie.

Go and check Lampards Opta stats in his prime.

Lampard was a 70 passes a game nigga.

Oscar is a 50 passes a game nigga even on his best form.

Lampard or Fab4 in the AM position are comfortable receiving the ball in their own half. Oscar is a counterattacker, not a ball to feet nigga.

David Silva is a 78 passes a game nigga. Fab4 when he played no10 at Arsenal is an 80 passes a game nigga. Willian is a 70 passes a game nigga in the no10 position.

And no, Oscar ain't doing a third of what Lamps was doing in terms of pure output. Oscar is not doing anything close to what Lampard was known for.

Lampard was the most km-per-game runner for 6 straight seasons, Lampard can play in a low-block cos he's comfortable in his own half. Oscar is not, he's only comfortable with space to run into.

Case in point - JM would never start Oscar in a match where he's parking the bus. Did Oscar play the last two games against City? No! Liverpool? No! Atletico? No! Oscar cannot play football in his own half - which is a grievous sin for no10s. I cannot stand any no10 who isn't comfortable in his own half.

Defensively. . . and I mean pressing in formation (not run-run last minute tackles), Oscar does not understand what it takes to transition from a no10 to a no8 when the opposition has the ball.

Please do not compare Oscar to Lampard, lest you expose a flaw in your understanding of the requirements of a midfielder.

Even now, Oscar ain't doing what Lampard is doing at City.

My vision for Chelsea does not include Oscar. Is there anyone on planet earth that would compare Oscar to Fab4 in the no10 position?

Now imagine a ninja like Toni Kroos or Rakitic or even Axel Witsel playing no4 while Fab4 moves up to no10. Who would compare both midfields? Oscar is just a placeholder until we get someone that will allow Fab4 to move up. There is little future against the best teams with Oscar as no10. What good is a no10 that you NEVER USE in the big games?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 11:42am On Oct 20, 2014
He's not a no10 that plays with the ball to his feet regardless of which version is correct.

Show me one stat that places Oscar as a possession controller. None! That ninja don't make 80 passes a game, he doesn't touch the ball 100 times in a game. He is not a no10 that plays with the ball to his feet. Simples.

When Schweinsteiger, Gotze, Kroos and co were playing with the ball to feet, that dude was busy chasing shadows.

Lampard is a Legend, No doubt! but Oscar can also be a Legend.. He still has 10 more years to play at the top level..

Mourinho says this, Ibime says that.. Okay.. Lets assume U are right about.Oscar, Y is mourinho still always playing Oscar as a No10?? Y cant Mourinho just play Fab as No10 and Mikel as No4..
Cos Mikel is a crap no4.

Besides, where was Oscar against City?

Oscar has not been holding the no10 position by any means. Any big game, you won't see him on pitch, you will see Willian or Ramires instead. We've played 11 games this season and he's only played 7 of em, of which few were from the bench. . . . while Fab4 has played all of em.

That should tell you who is important. Take Fab4 out the team and put Ramires in, you'll see how awful Oscar is at dominating a game.

This is the first decent run (two games) that Oscar has had in a year.

And some peeps are ranting. SMH.

Is that the standard of a Chelsea player? Hazard has played 2 years solid at a high level and still gets criticised, Oscar turns up once every 3 months and niggas start ranting. They are mates BTW and only £7m difference in price yet niggas treat Oscar with kid gloves whilst expecting perfection from Hazard.

Oscar is CRAP! When Toni Kroos and Schweingsteiger and co come to play, you better pray he is not the one responsible for your possession game. They will murder him like Germany-Brazil.

Fab4 is trippling his output from the no4 position. Now imagine Fab4 was the no10. So what standard are we expecting from Oscar? Rubbish!

Mscheeeew!!! Abeg!

Oscar is improving in what? Did someone lend him vision overnight?

Its just the usual Oscar, playing in a hot streak, later he will blow cold.

Is he controlling any match? No. Nothing has changed fundamentally about his game. Just the same run, run. Fab4 is the one controlling game.

He will never be HALF THE PLAYER Lampard was. For reference, see that Lampard is the best central midfielder at City this season even at age 36 with assists and goals every 30 mins. Even in retirement, he's still outshining Oscar!

And to think some bright spark at Chelsea thought it best for Lampard to defend behind Oscar the last 2 seasons. All the assists and goals you are seeing at City shows how foolish that was. Lampard had even better offensive output than Oscar from a defensive position.

Oscar become as great as Lampard? Lampard was competing for Ballon D'or with Ronaldinho at one stage, voted 2nd best player in the world in 2005. Oscar will never even make the shortlist in his career.

These niggas must be crazy!

I see alot of childish and silly comments from people who don't know Akin Alabi or generally have distrust or cold hard beef for politicians and cannot separate hardworking successful men from professional politicians. For those who dont know Akin Alabi, you can go to his blog www.akinalabi.com to see the kind things he has been doing even before he decided to become a politician. Firstly he is a motivational speaker and successful author who has coached thousands of people to become millionaires and successful people and i count myself lucky to be one of the people opportuned to meet him to advise me. He doles out millions of Naira weekly to youths to inspire them to be succesful and gives them seed money to start a business that they aspired to own without demanding anything in return. He has created alot of wealth by employing thousands of people around the country by opening franchise stores of the Nairabet sporting company and sponsors alot of sport shows, youth activities and events because its in his blood to help people. Akin has always been a Millionaire even before he started Nairabet and has always helped people. Akin Alabi has supported so many enterprenuers here on Nairaland that i know of and if you do something good, he will support and patronize you. He bought a 2013 range rover from Inspired autos from the auto section here on Nairaland and paid him alot of commission. With his wealth and expertise, why didn't he contact an auto dealer outside Nairand? He did it so as to encourage people like Inspired and other auto dealers on Nairaland. When he buys his lands or houses, he contacts Agents in the property section to look for properties for him and omonile lawyer to assist him with his paper work. Why didnt he call other lawyers or SANS to do it since he has the money and influence to do it?

He is very active on Nairaland and instead of Nairalanders to be happy that one of their own is finally contesting and support him, you are here pulling him down and insulting his political aspirations. Later on you would be the same people insulting Government that they do not listen to the youths or provide employment when for the very first time, you have a direct link that can be of help to you because he has both the ears of the cries of Nairalanders and the Federal Government. This has nothing to do with whether he is PDP or APC. Bottomline he is a Nairalander like you and he deserves your support.

Akin Alabi is my friend in whom i am well pleased in and i wish him the very best to succeed in his chosen endeavour and will support him just the way he advised, counselled and supported thousands of us to become successful when we lost our way. If you are jealous of successful people who have shown love to people to become successful without demanding anything in return, you would never be succesful and will continue to beef successful people like Akin who would only grow more successful to help other people. ( No be swear . . . Na true Talk)

European club football for me started around 93, When NTA would serve us dated Bundesliga games in "Football made in Germany"

Musta been the Chelsea vs Madrid Super Cup that swayed you, no?

Na then the awareness/affinity started for me, albeit on the peripheral. . . The rest they say his history.
I can't remember such game. If it was played, it must have been in August 1998 (after our Cup Winners Cup triumph) when I was on holiday in Naija so I musta missed it. To be honest I'm not even sure whether Cup Winners Cup champions played the Super Cup.

Ma first Chelsea season was 96/97, the year before Babayaro joined. It was simply a case of a Calcio follower arriving in Britain and the ninjas like Zola, Gullit, Vialli etc all played for one team. How could I not support them? Besides my mum and grandad both follow Chelsea being from Surrey.

That same season, Chelsea came back from 4-0 down at halftime to draw 4-4 with Liverpool in the FA Cup, which only increased my passion, same FA Cup we won with Di Matteos thunder strike after 40 secs, and then Babayaro joined that summer. Nothing more to discuss - I'm a Chelsea fan.

The next season we won the Cup Winners Cup - 2-0 down on aggregate in the semifinal against Vicenza, we needed 3 quick goals to qualify in the 2nd half. Another miracle comeback instigated by Mark Hughes and we were in the final where we beat Stuttgart with a single goal from Zola. We also won the league Cup to make it a double winning season.

Over the next two years we won the FA cup again - infact we were the third best performing club in UK between 1996 and Abramovic in 2003, and we were the foremost Cup specialist in the EPL - so we've been glorious before they started accusing us of Glory hunting.

We only start to take ninjas serious when they start making an impact approaching senior level. Baker is much closer to that than Boga.

At the moment, I don't see what differentiates Boga from Kelechi Iheanacho, Kerlon, Nii Odartey Lamptey or Femi Opabunmi - underage stars.

Call me a conservative but a ninjas career is a sum of what his coaches observe and where they place him. That ninja is mate with Raheem Sterling when he burst on scene, and considered not ready for first team loan like Bertrand Traore who was also his age when Vitesse came calling. From that YouTube video, it looks like he doesn't know when to release ball and when to dribble although he does have great balance like Hazard. At thís moment nothing puts that ninja ahead of Baker cos Baker was the key driver of the multiple award winning Under21s whilst Boga was chiefly under 18s . We will judge a nigga in the big man's game, not in youth footie.

I don't care if it's "bad belle" or not by Mr Aye Dee, the way Linda was ripping content from other sites was too much. This should be a lesson learned. She is playing in a field where there is more regard for law, not the Nigerian wild west.

There was a time when some of Linda's people used to come to Nairaland and point fingers at Seun claiming all NLs FP topics were ripped from LindaIkeji. Nairaland an open forum where anyone can post anything being accused of stealing by the no1 content thieves in the Nigerian blogosphere. Imagine that.

Make she up her game jor.
