This Willian signing go deflate a lot of attacking midfielders morale oh!

They face the most competition out of all the AMs in the world for a starting role and are the most poorly protected by the players behind them in all the big clubs in the world.

I wonder how DeBruyne and his agent are feeling today, I wonder what Lucas Piazon and Thorgan Hazard are feeling. This club has no plan for them in the next 5 years.

What kind of club would amass 7 attacking midfielders?

nateevs: And I think we all pretty much agree on why that is. Simple.
Simply shows how replaceable he is. These ninjas above have just replaced him with £3m Dante, £13m Ivanovic, £7m Cahill and £10m Boateng. Market players who come a dime a dozen are preferred to him. Only shows what a waste of asset he is. He offers the same utility as £10m players.

coogar: all this talk about chelsea and bayern is tiring - i want to open another argument, how many bayern players would walk into the chelsea team?

coogar's team...

----------------cech---------------
-lahm--ivanovic--terry--cashley-
------martinez----schweini------
--ribery------mata-----hazard--
------------mandzukic------------

chelsea 6-5 bayern.
Muller or Gotze over Mata.

Though I love Cashley, Alaba gives you more tactical options.

Terry of nowadays, I would swap with Dante.

Swap Ribery to the left, move Hazard to the right. They play better from those wings.

Kroos would be my first substitute.

Funny how nobody gree pick the £30m irreplaceable defender, preferring others wey boku for market.

nateevs: I bothered to find out where Okore was when Ivanovic was heading Chelsea home to bag 3 points? I found him. Totally rooted to the ground.
You are a bloody liar who will resort to all manner of falsehood to make an argument.

Okore was clearly marking Lukaku. The video is there on YouTube for anybody to see the falsehood Nateevs is trying to twist.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrJLpnIEbnw&feature=youtube_gdata_player

The same Okore pocketed Chelseas mega million pound attackers with not a single shot between them nigh on 70 mins he was on the pitch. If Luiz was playing for Villa instead, they sure to concede 3 goals with his PlayStation tendencies, recovery jogs and poor positional awareness.

We don't need to make up lies to show where Luiz was disgraced in matches. We all know who (Hernandez) did you know what to you know who (Luiz) . . but let's keep that between me and you!

nateevs: Nothing to do with change in playing and particularly defensive philosophy, dozen of managers, technical and managerial instability, change in type of attacking players, tactics, formation change, just David Luiz. Only David Luiz.
But at least the £30m irreplaceable man should prevent şuch a drastic downturn in defensive solidity. If ninjas before were conceding 0.84 goals per game, the great irreplaceable Luiz should limit fallout to 0.95 or something more respectable. Some real irreplaceable defenders like Vidic are able to sit behind
legless Carrick and Scholes and put together 10 matches without conceding you know?

I'm sure if we dig down further, we'll prolly see better average without Luiz in this period than with him.

All the 4 goals, 3 goals, 2 goals disgraces, all the disgraces from Chicarito, RVP, Sissoko, Falcao, Cavani, Juve, Shakhtar and Mo Diame, Luiz was there.

If I ask ninjas to name the disgraces Alex was involved in, they will struggle to recall.

And all these extraneous factors şuch as Mikel and Ramires pivot, no solid central midfielders, getting rid of Ballack and later Meireles who protect the defence, playing highline, defensively negligent MaZaCar's, did you not argue in their favour?

And is part of his job not to marshall those in front of him instead of going walkabout himself?

Look Luiz is only good defensively for his pace to complement Cahill, Terry and Ivanovic, and Okore provides the same, plus is class on the ball, good in one-to-ones - exactly the qualities we use Luiz for. I say cash in on the unproductive asset and you find yourself in pretty much the same position.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 10:00pm On Aug 22, 2013
Before Luiz, Chelsea never conceded more than 0.87 goals per game average in EPL often floating between the 0.5 and 0.8 mark.

Since Luiz, we've been averaging 1.12 goals conceded per game over his two full seasons, with Arsenal fans boasting better defensive record two years in a row.

That's what we call a £30m asset sitting on the balance sheet without deriving any benefit to the company. Cash in fast on şuch unproductive asset. The ninja makes no material difference to goals conceded whether on the bench, on the pitch or injured.

PlayStation defender! No wonder JM was looking to replace him with Mangala. And little do fellas know that same Okore we are discussing is firmly on Chelsea radar and even rejected a move to Chelsea in January on grounds that he wants guaranteed first team footie.

debosky: Isn't this the same Ibime that was recommending Carlos Cuellar who nearly relegated Sunderland as Arsenal's solution in Central Defence - in the same season that Arsenal's defence was better than Chelski's and United's in the league? cheesy cheesy

Ibime wouldn't know a good defender if the guy was sitting on his anvil-shaped head.
Make you dey there. I know how many FPL points I collected from Cuellar last season before his injury. No need to dignify this with a response as every man and his dog knows Sunderlands struggles were in attack last season not defensively, and only Stoke conceded less in the bottom half, plus they copped 30% clean sheets allowing Ipukulu to chop FPL points repete last season. Furthermore no need to dignify this further cos I recommended him as a squad player, which is an upgrade on your squad defenders and arguably more solid than some so-called first team regulars who seem to attract penalties and red cards like water plus get bullied all the time. BTW, how did Mertesack-her and Koscielny manage to concede less goals than Luiz and his bunch of merry cavaliers?

El Guapo: Wenger started his transition after Viera and co left.

Fellas like Gibbs, Hleb, Denilson, Eboue, Flamini etc stepped up. They were deemed to be the next big things of Arsenal and u'd hear Wenger confidently tell us that Gibbs has got more raw talent than Cole who Just left for Chelsea.

How would this kids turn out? Truth is they were never Invincible and wouldnt be Invincible, why wouldnt they be Invincible? Cos they were never on the Pedestal Viera, Henry, Seaman, Campbell, Lauren etc Istood!

Thats to say, if Viera left arsenal and got replaced with a bigshot in the mould of Essien and same way with the other departed stalwarts, who knows the EPL might have recorded yet another Set of Invincibles.

Flamini Just like Okore had the talent, must have been compared with Viera then but he wasnt tested and proven. He stepped up to the big stage with his peers and Arsenal were led into doldrums.

You are talking of change in philosophy from counterattack to tiki taka that led to Arsenals downfall, not downgrading players.

Long before these yarns you are talking here, Wenger has successfully replaced £25m Anelka with £4m Kanu and £11m Henry, £30m Overmars and Petit with £6m Pires and Edu and many others. Don't bring Arsenal into this. Wengers failing was going with Fabregas and Denilson type players instead of Gilberto Silva and Vieira type of solid enforcers. Even Yaya Toure was his to sign for free, but he preferred change in philosophy and claimed he had too many midfielders already.

A ninja said Luiz cannot be replaced by a £4m player. Is there any difference between Luiz and another of our centrebacks? Has Luiz replaced £5m Alex who was more solid, consistent and kept more clean sheets than Luiz could hope?

What's there to replace of a ninja who has worsened our defensive record since his arrival, with numerous mistakes, poor positioning, poor recovery and always hiding his hand behind his back instead of closing down opponents. If Barca feel they need a ninja to recycle possession and who's good in one on one's, fine. They think the same of Koscielny. . .but no ninja should come here and assign some irreplaceable status to Luiz - someone who has failed himself to adequately replace Alex.

Mschew! Nonsense! I can name couple ninjas under £10m that would replace him without losing any defensive solidity, starting with Verthongen last summer and Okore this summer. Defending no be for flash.

When a ninja is irreplaceable, you will see it. Vidic would take Manure 10 games without conceding, then soon as he is injured, they start conceding again. That's what we call irreplaceable, not Luiz who might-or-might-not concede two goals depending how the wind blow, with no guarantee of extra solidity whether he is playing or Cahill and Ivanovic are playing instead. Şuch ninja has already been replaced from within without even going outside. That's just a waste of £30m asset who can be cashed in with not a single goal added to the goals conceded column.

Some might even argue that goals conceded will improve cos Chelseas concession of goals can never get worse than we've seen during Luiz time here. Even Arsenal fans are now boasting better defensive record these days.

nateevs: Still back to the same thing I am saying. As it stands, it seems only you can see the value. I wonder why no one has told Barcelona this. Seeing as they can save £26m and get a defender who does exactly what Luiz does.
Get off ma dikk ninja. I'm telling ninjas what I would do, you telling me nonsense about Barca.

In 2008 when Barca paid £25m for Chygrinski same time Thiago Silva cost £7m, is this the argument you would have used?

I said I would sell Luiz for £30m and buy another dude for £4m and you telling ninjas thank God I'm not Jose, as if Jose has not already offered Luiz in part exchange this very summer and for way less than £30m. I back my belief in the kid Okore not minding whether you read it as being a direct replacement or not. One would think Luiz was Baresi compared to Ivanovic, Cahill and Terry but fact of matter, he needs no replacement cos it's no difference which two of the three are playing.

Best get off ma dikk cos if I get your time today, you won't enjoy the exposure. I think we both know I don't express my views on here in conversation with Nateevs. If I'm yarning on here, it's not directed at well known guffants who should be quiet out of pure shame from past misyarns.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 12:01pm On Aug 22, 2013
nateevs: Two separate arguments mate. Value and replacement.
If you are recommending Okore at £4m as good value, then I believe all will accept. He's got potential and could cost £30m someday. That's an argument of good value. Back up defender, cheap, comes in and does a good job but only when Luiz is injured or to satisfy the purpose of squad rotation.

The ridiculous is when one starts to believe that actually the value is in selling Luiz for £30m and replacing him directly with Okore. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that at this point in time. That's a replacement argument and that's garbage. So it only makes sense to be reminded that there's a reason Luiz is valued at £30m and Okore is not. If Okore gives that much output and I repeat, at this moment in time, he would be wearing the Barcelona colours now. And they get to save £26m.

Torres was valued at £50m because of what he achieved leading up to that point - 3rd best WPOTY. Sturridge was £5m for what he achieved at the same time. If you suggested in 2009 to replace Torres with Sturridge because you saw potential and value, it would have been just as ridiculous as the Okore suggestion in 2013.
You chatting nonsense. There are 3 other competent defenders in the club to mitigate replacing Luiz like for like, although if you try to push that as the argument, I can tell you now that Okore has it all, even more than Luiz.

If Eluaquim Mangala was not valued at £25m by Porto, JM would have bought him as direct replacement for David Luiz. Maybe Jose valued Eluaquim at £15m - yet like for like considered him more reliable than Luiz. Likewise, I make bold to say Okore is even more desirable than Eluaquim based on the strengths of both players. The difference in prices between all these players is simply difference in their level of exposure

Now on what basis would anyone say Sturridge should ride bench for Torres in 2012 as you did. Was that based on 2009 prices?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 6:36am On Aug 22, 2013
nateevs: I believe there's a reason Luiz is valued at £30m and Okore is not. If Okore will remotely fill a void left by Luiz, you would think that Barcelona also would see value in spending £4m over £30m.

Thank goodness Jose is in charge.
Are you being cheeky or what?

So what's the reason that Torres cost £50m and Sturridge cost us £5m.

No wonder nincompoops insisted that Torres must start whilst Sturridge must ride bench.

How much did Luiz cost at age 20? And why does he still make mistakes one would expect from a 20 year old?

Jose should use this as example to the boys what happens if you don't go for the jugular and incisively go for goals early in the match.

Still a lot of work to do. Counterattack is still an issue, Mata ain't blending with the work required to play for Jose, Schurrles touch looking very loose, Hazard not decisive enough to bury games in final third. Hes lacking either strength or final ball decision making. Still lacking a striker with touch to play in tight spaces. But the spirit is there, and JM factor might still get the boys across the line.
