benalvino3:Which normal sane human being will go and get ID for the specific purpose of voting once every four years or once in their lifetime. Some people will only vote once in their life if they perceive a threat like an Idi Amin or Trump running, otherwise they see no difference between one Government and another as long as tax stays roughly the.same and human freedoms are maintained. It's only GQP cultist that carry matter for head that will go out of their way to get ID if it's just for voting purposes. Some of us won't even go to vote if the polling booth is more than 10 mins walk, or if football match is on. In our younger years, we don't even register to vote because electoral roll is what BBC Licence fee agents use to know who is living in the property when they come chasing you for unpaid licence fee ![]() |
raumdeuter:Your post keeps contradicting you. This says almost every bank. That means there are those using other banks according to their need. There will be others using credit unions. There will be those using student accounts which is where most banks onboard their first customers, using student ID. There are students still using the accounts their parents set up for them. The current account I use till this day is the Woolwich account my mum opened for me as a teen, now taken over by Barclays for example. In Texas, you can't use Texas State University ID card to vote, but you can use Texas State gun licence. Is that ojoro not clear enough. Read the below and tell me if the percentages in UK who don't have any Govt photo ID (4%) would be roughly the same as USA, then translate that into how many millions of people that affects.

raumdeuter:This question says Can. Yes a Landlord can. A Landlord can request your payslip, bank accounts or even mental health history if they want. But it is not a law that they have to, that's just for the Landlords peace of mind. People are renting all over America without these IDs below.
|
raumdeuter:He has passport na. I'm showing you that someone can easily not have drivers licence. And someone can also easily not have passport. Tah, you don't need the same level of ID to open a bank account as some of the level of ID required to vote in some states |
raumdeuter:The bolded is all you need to say. In practice, it will hardly be applied. UK law is if you look under 25, and I've been buying drinks since 15 with no questions. And if it comes to question, I'm sure it won't go past my school ID or travelcard or bus pass. |
basilico:My case is not unique. 95% of my classmates would not have those IDs unless they were dual nationals. I only knew one friend with drivers licence in my class. It was only after college that another of my friend went and got passport, and we joined him on road trip in Europe. We still couldn't drive so he did all the driving. Unlike myself, most still lived at home. Many are respected professionals today, they were smart then and they are smart now. Nothing stops them from voting except you want to tell me they are ineligible because they lived with their parents and had not gotten certain ID as at then. |
raumdeuter:I guarantee you guys are drinking all over America without those documents. There are other forms of ID. That discretion is more like free service unless you look under 18. I have never had to show ID to buy booze |
raumdeuter:There are many forms of photo ID. I probably used my passport for mine, but there is no stipulation that it has to be, unless you want to tell me that everyone over 18 without passport or driving licence is homeless |
raumdeuter:You don't need a passport or drivers licence to lease a flat You don't need a passport to fly within your own country You don't need a driver's licence to buy alcohol I doubt you had a driver's licence at 18, if you did, it's purely curcumstantial I did not drive when I lived in London. I would not even have gotten drivers licence if not for one or two things. I was already in my mid-20s before I got one. I have a friend, a very successful entrepreneur who does not have one till today. I have gone years without car in London, using train and my bicycle to go to work everyday till I left London just 8 years ago. That means if I'm someone who doesn't travel abroad (like most Americans), I don't see why I would need these IDs, and I won't start going through the process of getting them just because election is coming up. None of these IDs are necessary to be a responsible adult, and none are necessary for voting. You get them as you grow older as one or two circumstances change in your life. If you live in New York and are the typical American who only vacations in America, chances are you don't need these documents. They are purely a sieve to filter out youth, and Inner City youth moreso.
|
raumdeuter:You are jumping from pillar to post. First you said they couldn't drink, fly or get a job without these IDs which is false. None of these IDs are a test of being a responsible adult, they are a sieve to filter out youth (and other demographics) As an 18 year old, I was an adult and had been living by myself independently since 16, working part time, paying rent, bills and tax. The only two documents that concerned me then were my bus pass and student ID I had no need to drive and no need to travel abroad. The passport I had was purely curcumstancial. I didn't need it to be an adult. I had stellar grades and was politically aware, 100 times more than the 16 year old who left school to work in the lumber yard and procured a driver's licence for that purpose, and more aware than a 48 year old blue collar worker who would have grabbed these IDs as life progressed. This is the same for many 18 year olds. Swear that as an 18 year old Ile Ife student or prospective student, one of the top 5% smartest people in Nigeria, that you had one of these. It's best you call it what it is - voter suppression.
|
raumdeuter:An 18 year old will do all the above without the ID listed below. The ID listed below is beyond the imagination of the average 18 year old unless an adult with means facilitates it.
|
benalvino3:You are talking rubbish. You went to Comprehensive secondary school, a State school. How many of your classmates could get hands on such. Your 4 year old niece has passport because she travelled, what percentage of 4 year olds do? Voting is a right of citizenry, get that through your thick skull. The minute you put in laws that disenfranchise a good percentage of an eligible demographic from voting, you are denying them rights and playing foul. I can put myself in others shoes. If not for the luck of happenstance, I would have no business with any of the below documents by age 18 or even 19, and neither would 80% of my classmates. I would have no reason to have a passport if I had a single Nationality as I did not travel as a teen except visiting family in Nigeria or UK as the case may be.
|
benalvino3:You should stop being stupid. Where in my post did you see race? At the age of 18, did you have drivers licence in Comproboko secondary school? This is about cutting down the eligible voters in demographics that don't favour you. Race is just one factor. Majority of young people vote to the left. How do you cut their vote, if not by cutting out people without drivers licence or passport. Your mumu brain went to say why can't black young people get a licence like the white. The aim is to cut out all young people. Same thing with the disabled. Same thing with the poor. That's where the racism allegation comes in. And also same with the casual easy going citizen who is unlikely to prepare all these things, unlike the cultist who takes voting as war. This is the reason GQP don't win popular votes with young people, because people don't easily forget disenfranchisement and ojoro. |
We meet Tunisia next |
basilico:It's like the 5 hours GMT is affecting your mental state. What's with your inability to stay on-topic since you were sent on expatriate mission. You suggested America had 100% turnout, I asked you where, you said North Korea. I asked if you had valid ID as a young man, you start talking about Russian hoax Stay on-topic please. Which of the following did you have at the age of 18 when you were eligible to vote?
|
basilico:What was the voter turnout in USA last election. Who cares about your North Korea When GQP can't win election, they cry fraud, so they can steal elections with pen and voter suppression. Which of the following did you have at the age of 18 when you were eligible to vote?
|
basilico:Where did voters turn out 100%, or is that a fact you pulled from your ārse? |
basilico:That's a Conservative MP, a Brexiteer infact complaining about the intention of the bill What ID did you have at 18 in your village in Umudike. Were you not eligible to vote at that age? |
Umudike clowns won't go and collect their PVC and encourage everyone in their region to collect PVC, they are encouraging Americans to restrict voting and disenfranchise good portions of society. Later they will complain about Buhari. One Obixcel here never had any recognisable form of ID until he had to go get international passport to apply for VISA which was twice denied. Who will give Visa to a new passport with no travel record.
|
raumdeuter:Read this and stop typing nonsense. Did you have any recognisable ID at age of 18 except that to show which house you can compete for in interhouse sports? https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/elections-bill-2022-david-davis-undemocratic-voter-id/ |
Kilishihunter:We will play Tunisia next unless they beat Gambia If they beat Gambia, we'll play Gambia |
raumdeuter:We are scheduled to play 3rd place from their group or Mali's group but CIV have done the Lord's work. If they beat CIV, they or CIV would have finished 3rd. |
Mahrez is coming home. We are sure to avoid Algeria next round cos we are slated to face the 3rd place team in Groups E or F, and IvotCoast have done the Lord's work |
andrewbaba44:Olise rejected call-up last year, he said he's favouring Algeria because his agent convinced him that way. I think he will bide his time and see if France or England materialise sef. No need chasing him. Onomah is our second best CM/CAM as things stand, and would be first substitute for Aribo. He was a winger for Spurs in his younger days but impressed me as a CM in a midfield 3 for Fulham in EPL before injury ended his season. He wouldn't make our top 8 wingers but would make squad as a CM easily |
BlueMann:lol. You go surprise say Awaziem senior Balogun in reality Awaziem European career is not going too well, that could put him under pressure |
Ibunkun1:I've not seen any scary team so far. Algeria and Senegal who are the only teams I fear have been underwhelming. |
Unlimited22:We have players bros. First guy I will try to get is Josh Onomah. He will be an able deputy for Joe Aribo. Lukman will be a welcome addition, but I think Dennis should take that RW spot from Chukwueze to add more firepower. Dennis always seems to pick the right option, and the option that doesn't involve too much complication or dabaru. Dennis, Osimhen, Kelechi and Simon will be a crazy front 4 with Lookman and Chukwueze coming on to disturb later. Ejuke will still merit a spot before Ejaria because he has a different style of play when he plays that right wing. I feel Ejaria should wait for the next cycle. Nathan Tella of Southampton is also begging to join. I think Leon Balogun spot is in danger. It's obvious that Troost-Ekong needs someone with pace to cover him. Semi Ajayi is actually my favourite and I like Omeruo but Omeruo dey quick gas due to old age. Ajayi is fairly comfortable on the ball having played in midfield, and one of the deadliest players to face on a set-piece. Nigga is like Ivanovich with scoring headers. Akpoguma profile looks good but I haven't really watched him. We have so many CBs, Awaziem and Balogun should not be too sure although they deserve a plane seat due to their service and the camaraderie that Awaziem brings to the squad as a practical joker. After next World Cup, guys like Adarabaiyo are still there. He and Ajayi would make a strong partnership going forward. We also have one Isaac Bassey who plays left-back for Rangers who will put Jamilu Collins under pressure for his spot. As much as Rohr is derided, one great thing he did for Naija was bring professionalism and fairness that attracted many foreign-born players, let's also benefit from them like those Francophone, Algeria and Morocco are doing. |
Ibunkun1:We are looking good. Ndidi, Aribo, Simon, Kekechi, Aina and Sanusi looking like our spine. If they stay fit, we can go far |
Ibunkun1:That ref was pure comedy |
BlueMann:He looked composed. Doesn't look like a full back though. He plays like a CB or DM |
larride:Everybody looks good with Ndidi, no need checking, before Ndidi go injure |
This African VAR takes forever sha Iamoyindamola shebi na you been dey ask why Naija keeps picking Moses Simon. That guy is our own Sadio Mane jare |
