malali: There is more to this naira devaluation than meets the Eye.
Why do i feel some people are counterfeiting the naira.
Because no one can really explain why there is an infinite amount of Naira in circulation. Even if the naira was free floating by now it should have reached an equilibrium. It should have pegged itself.
The only reason why the naira can be dropping till infinity is if the production is unlimited, because salary has not even been increased yet. Only thing that could account for daily devaluation is if someone other than the CBN is printing naira. Counterfeiters ?
To be realistic, no amount of salary increments can resolve this.
This is very serious, the government has to act now........There are so many African countries, who do not even produce crude oil or subsidize forex but their local currency is stable.
The government should declare a state of emergency right away, this currency devaluation is getting out of control. The country need to consider digital currency. |

ogugwa1992: Nigeria Suffering Insecurity Because Buhari Regime Failed To Rearrest Freed Terrorists - Omokri
Omokri said, in fact, that there was worse insecurity in Nigeria during the Buhari administration than the country currently has.
He said, "Jailbreaks, airport invasions and train bombings are now a thing of the past. Oil thefts have reduced, and our oil production has increased from what it was under Buhari to about 2 million barrels per day today. And no police stations have been destroyed in the Southeast since Buhari's inept regime thankfully came to an end."
His statement reads thus:
Reno Omokri It's funny how we under estimate the importance the Prisons in our national security architecture. We spend so much money of Police, DSS and other agencies that arrest criminals but we refuse to fund the agency that holds the criminals away from the society, making them unable to hurt the populace anymore. In security meeting, only Police Army Navy and DSS is invited, the president does not know first hand what happens in the Prisons, he need to be asking some people. National Security Meeting should have NSCDC Corrections Immigration Police DSS Army Navy Airforce NDLEA NSA and the President himself. The president is too far away from events in the ground. And some ministers are just politicians, they can't process security information. |

smokinloud: You know nothing about the Middle-East. Tell U.S. to withdraw her over 5,000 military personnel from UAE and watch how the country will become stone age in 10 years. I'm not saying UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia etc are not peace loving counties though they know what is at stake if they are not well secured by the U.S. military base. You think the Islamic regime of Iran and major factions of Yemen military government are happy with the western life in UAE, Saudi, Qatar etc?!. Dey play The problem with Palestinian Arabs is external forces not the civilians. Their ancestors are Egyptians, Lebanese, Saudis, Jordanians etc. So they are loyal to them to a fault. Hamas was only founded in 1987 and the conflict has been on centuries before then. THE AGENDA IS "NO JEWISH AUTONOMY IN THE MIDDLE EAST" AND NOTHING ELSE. Jordan got her own portion of the historic Israel land in May 25, 1948 and no Arab is disturbing her. The Palestinian Arabs were even serving The king of Jordan then, at some point Jordan occupy the Westbank... Have you ever asked yourself why Palestinians are not fighting against Jordan to claim "their Palestine land" the answer is obvious. The Arabs don't have issue with muslim state. They only don't want the Jews in the Middle East. I agree with you, it's okay. Lol 😂😆 |

smokinloud: Again the problem with Palestinian is external forces. 2.1 million Arabs Palestinians are Israel citizens and they have political party, they vote in bloc. They are muslims and their political party have Islam ideology. They were around 500,000 in 1948 and now over 2.1 million and Israel is not commiting genocide against them. They were loyal to Israel in the 1948 Israel-Arab war and Israel has been loyal to them till date. One Arab judge sentence to jail, Israel prime minister. Israel is not genocidal at all they're just struggling for their existence in the MiddleEsst ni. THE ONLY FEASIBLE SOLUTION THAT'LL LAST FOR AT LEAST 100 YEARS,UNTIL THE POPULATION OF THE ARABS SURPASSES THAT OF THE JEWS, IS A CONFEDERATION WHERE ISRAEL WILL OVERSEE EVERY ACTIVITY OF ARABS PALESTINIANS. THEY'LL HAVE THEIR OWN SELF-GOVERNMENT BUT ISRAEL WILL OVERSEE THEIR MILITARY AFFAIR. THAT'S THE ONLY FEASIBLE SOLUTION. OTHER SOLUTION WILL LEAD TO ANOTHER ENDLESS WAR NI Thank God UK, US and UN will not add you to the peace process, otherwise no meaningful development will be achieved. smokinloud: Seems you don't get the drift. Palestinians Arabs have never acted distinctly from the Arab nation. Hamas are carrying out what the Arabs unanimously wants and Israel security is not guaranteed when Palestine is governed separately. They need to be in confederation with Israel for Israel's security to be assured, at least for the next 100 years. The problem is not Hamas but what the Arabs unanimously want A middle east controlled by "Islam only". You need to understand the root of the conflict. There was no Hamas when the Arabs rejected the Peels commission that gave Arabs 3.5 percent of the land No, this is not true. You risk a full blown genocide and civil war if you adamantly mixed two very unstable reactive chemicals called Israel and Palestine together. A sane diplomat knows that. Secondly, Hamas will be removed. That's a fact. And you can't put Israel in charge of Palestinians and you cant put Palestinians in charge of Israel. We already see the result of puting Isreal incharge of Palestine. Unless you want a retaliation or civil war, that's not visible. |

smokinloud: Firstly, Hamas values is against western civilization, it calls for Jihad not only in Israel but in Spain, Italy and world domination of Islam. They'll pay Israel to destroy Hamas 1000 times. *in 1937, the entire land was given to the Arabs, just 3.5 percent was given to Israel. The Arabs rejected it. How do you think they'll now accept 45%-50% today?!. The only realizable solution is to be a confederation under Israel where there'll be no threat of terrorism from the Arabs but counties like Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt etc will not gree so it's not as easy as you see it Well, anyone will destroy a terrorist group, so don't sweat it. We are talking about peace and how to achieve it, Britain surprisingly is giving Abit of a way out, but instead of you to add to the peace process, you are drumming for war and killings. Do you know Hamas Terror Group more than Britain and US? As far as I am concerned, I don't have business with Hamas, they should be dealt with like criminals, but the Palestinians civilians, women and children plus noncombatants population needs our protection as a people, peace and ultimately a country of their own. The portion that UN allocated for them minus some portions of the West bank is the only recognized territory of Palestine if they demilitarize and become peaceful with Israel. Everybody body wants peace except Arabs. Your last sentence is wrong and stereotypic. Are Arabs not human beings? Why would they not want peace? The Dubai, Qatar,Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE , Bahrain etc that many Nigerians queue for their visa paying millions of naira to go and find good life and jobs nowadays, is it not developed and owned by Arabs? How many wars have they fought? Please share educative information and not division or lies or stereotypes, many young people read what we write here , we should not misinform them. To the matter of discussion, well at this point, they can take whatever they are offered for peace, the UN border between the two had been encroached on by Israel long before now and I don't think Israel will withdraw back with inthe legal UN borders. Israel is a very stubborn country under Netanyahu, unless America and Britain put a very strong foot down on the matter. So, Palestinian lands has been taken already, so they will be happy to have Hamas leave and the whole Palestine cleaned up militarily but not to be done by Israel but by the UN and the security council members donated forces which comprises of US, UK,France,Russia and China. A two years operations max should get it done and troops kept there for another 8 years for at least two general elections to be held before combatant forces leaves and hopefully the region will remain peaceful henceforth. |

I don't think the Palestinians will reject such offer unless they want to be continually killed and murdered by the IDF. A state of their own With no Hamas leadership and No Israel influence but UN and a coalition of Neutral States to monitor her for Israel to feel safe will be a good way forward to pursue. |

Sayvick: Following speculations over the fitness of goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali for Nigeria’s quarter-final clash against Angola in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, coach Jose Peseiro has expressed faith in the ability of Francis Uzoho between the sticks on Friday (today), PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Nwabali’s availability for the Angola clash has been in doubt due to an injury he sustained during the 1-0 win over Cameroon in the round of 16 last Saturday.
However, he only missed one training session on Monday and was said to be in training on Tuesday and Wednesday which were used to assess his fitness.
Ahead of today’s game, Peseiro addressed the goalkeeper’s situation, stating that his availability was still subject to a late fitness test during the team’s last training session for the game on Thursday.
“We have to wait for a late fitness test today (Thursday), if he is not ready, I have other goalkeepers (Uzoho and Ojo). I believe and trust all my goalkeepers, if Nwabali is not fit, I trust Uzoho,” Peseiro said at the pre-match conference on Thursday.
Nwabali’s fitness has created anxiety among Nigerian fans who are still expecting the new number one to return to action against Angola today.
“At the mention of Uzoho’s name, every Nigerian gets scared,” a fan Sholumade Wale said.
Another fan, Dare Johnson, also queried the trust of the Portuguese coach in the embattled goalkeeper.
“Why do you always say you trust Uzoho? Have you considered what we think about him, if we trust Uzoho?”
Nwabali has been in goal for all of Nigeria’s four games at the 2023 AFCON including Nigeria’s pre-tournament friendly against Guinea in Abu Dhabi earlier this month.
He has conceded just once in four appearances at the AFCON and three times in all his five games for the country, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
Nigeria will take on Angola at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan at 6pm Nigerian time today. Ano trust am |

How would a colony of the then defunct Ottoman empire and then that of the British empire, have ambassadors, a practice which is a perogative of sovereign countries? Of course, if there was no airport, where would the British land to govern both the arab and Jewish inhabitants of the land?

onojaintegrity: Further to sustained efforts to eradicate gender based violence and other forms of harmful practices against the female gender, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs will flag off a 3-day sensitization rally from 2-4 February 2024 at the Bechere Ward, Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State to end money marriage which has been an age-long practise in the area.
Money marriage is a custom in which a girl child in the community is sold out to a man by her parents as a wife in exchange for money, food items, or to pay a debt.
The awareness campaign which is organized is partnership with the Office of the First Lady Cross River State Rev Mrs Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, is line with the continued push by the Federal Government to stamp out all forms gender based violence through the Women Affairs Ministry.
Speaking ahead of the rally, the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs Barr Uju Kennedy Ohanenye commended the Cross River State First Lady for collaborating with her Ministry on this initiative and reiterated that the campaign against age-long practises which demeans the dignity of womanhood will be addressed holistically and pledged to sustain the tempo as part of efforts to promote and protect the welfare and wellbeing of women and the girl child in Nigeria. No perfect culture. All culture has harmful practice. From OSU caste system or woman family taking ownership of a child cos he was born out of wedlock or not selling of land to non Igbo persons in the east, to heavy tribal face markings in the west, selling of girl child in Cross River, Almajiri and child marriage system in the north, female genital mutilation in all the regions, all these is a pointer to the fact that all culture has defect. The time is now to be open minded and adjust these custom, culture and believes system for a better society for all. |
